Description
Transportation Committee - June 8, 2023
A
This
is
what
it
thinks
I
can
share
and
I
can
drag
this
either
way.
You
know
either
place,
but
I
can't
drag
the
other
one
over
here.
Yeah
just.
B
D
Thank
you
Father
for
the
opportunity
to
meet
here
tonight.
Please
keep
those
who
are
not
here
with
us
and
who
are
on
the
road
safe
and
we
watch
over
all
of
us
in
Ascension
Parish
and
those
of
our
staff
who
will
be
leaving
here
to
to
drive
home.
D
D
C
Right
further
committee
Chairman's
report,
we
will
go
ahead
and
say
we're
going
to
skip
ABC
and
D
tonight.
We
don't
have
a
quorum
due
to
inclement
weather
and
traffic
conditions,
so
we
will
go
ahead
and
you
know:
do
the
department
report
and
we'll
move
the
any
action
items
on
tonight's
agenda
to
the
council
or
the
next
council
meeting
all
right
now,
let's
go
ahead
and
start
with
Mr
Trent
Cunningham.
E
Yes,
sir,
oh
thank
you
all
for
the
opportunity
to
speak
tonight,
just
a
few
things
that
we
want
to
up
to
get
y'all
up
to
date
on
some
of
the
projects
we've
had
and
that
we
have
coming
up.
E
E
We've
had,
let's
see,
overlaid,
half
a
mile.
Oh
excuse
me.
E
That's
right,
yes,
sir.
We
we've
all
paved
this
this
this
past
month,
a
half
a
mile.
Mostly
all
of
that
is
because
we
had
been
prepping
doing
prepping
work
for
upcoming
overlay
projects
that
we
have
would
do
during
in-house
very
good
and.
C
And
I
I'm
kind
of
rude
for
not
saying
this,
but
let
me
go
ahead
and
introduce
you.
You
know
you're
new
to
Ascension.
E
I've
worked
for
the
parish
for
26
years
now,
I've
been
an
operator
so
and
I've
been
working
with
Joey
Touro
and
the
staff
for
the
pavement
department.
For
about
four
years
now,
I've
been
promoted
to
a
manager,
so
I'm
kind
of
taking
on
some
of
the
roles
that
Joey
had
as
far
as
our
in-house
Crews
stuff,
like
that
and
just
trying
to
take
up
some
of
the
load.
Joey
did
a
good
job
and
just
happy
that
I'm,
given
the
opportunity.
E
E
But
like
I
said
we
we've
been,
we've
been
Paving
some
roads
in
within
the
parish.
We've
been
proving
some
intersection
turnouts
on
a
Casey
and
Babin
Road
fixing
potholes
throughout
the
parish,
fixing
Culvert
Crossings,
and
that's
that
basically
it
on
stuff
like
that.
So
we
have
some
upcoming
projects.
E
This
coming
month,
Marshawn
School
Road
we're
going
to
address
that
situation,
overlay
those
roads
that
have
been
delayed
for
a
little
while
we
went
overload
overlay,
Palmer,
Road,
Bayou,
Grand,
South,
subdivision
overlay
and
Patch
Force
Oak
streets,
overlay
patch
in
Forest,
Heights,
Road,
we're
going
to
Overlay
patch
and
do
coverts
and
improvements
on
Jackson
Oak,
Street
intersection
improvements,
we're
going
to
do
to
Harry
Savoy
Road
we're
going
to
do
some
shoulder
improvements
and
covert
improvements
on
Harry
Savoy
Road,
shoulder
improvements
on
Daigle
Road
and
also
Henry
Road.
E
We're
going
to
get
a
contract
together
to
stripe,
Ascension
Parish,
Highway
930
by
the
Prairieville
school
that
we
we
overlaided
just
to
to
make
it
safer.
But
now
we
need
to
get
some
some
striping
on
the
road,
so
people
can
have
it
divided,
we're
going
to
be
painting
the
parking
lot
of
DPW
in
Donaldsonville
and
we're
gonna
be
fixing
the
recycling
center.
The
new
recycle
center
we're
going
to
be
dressing
that
parking
lot
open,
pay
I'm,
not
Paving
it,
but
compacting
and
rolling
it.
E
We
got
some
Bridge
repairs
coming
up
on
Galvez
Avenue
that
we're
Contracting
out
and
we
got
a
David
Drive.
We
got
some
covert,
we
got
a
covert
cross
and
we
need
to
pave
we're
doing
our
routine
grade
and
graveled
on
our
Parish
roads
at
steel,
gravel
and
our
signs.
Our
crews
are
going
to
stay
on
top
of
their
signs.
E
E
Oh
so
what
happened
with
that?
Is
it
got
bited
out
and
then
it
exceeded
what
the
bid
was
they
it
was.
We
our
budget's
three
thousand
three
million.
It
went
past
five,
so
we
have
to
restructure
it.
The
scope
will
work,
so
we
can
get
it
down
to
the
and
it
has
to
be
rebuilded.
D
D
E
We
well
right
now
it
needs.
We
need
to
do
some
covert
work
under
the
road
and
but
I
think
within
the
that's
within
this
month
that
we
have
that
scheduled
plan.
E
All
right
here
we
go
all
right.
This
is
a
some
Patchwork.
We
did
in
Pelican
Crossing.
We
had
a
a
a
road
base
failure,
so
our
our
in-house
crew
went
in
in
there
and,
as
you
can
see,
it
was
starting
to
pump,
and
now
we
got
a
smooth
surface
there,
Val
menrotti
it
was
a
little
small
Road
off
of
off
of
Moody
Dixon
Road,
and
so
our
crews
went
in
there
and
paved
it
and
actually
widened
it.
E
A
little
bit
got
got
a
little
width
out
of
it
as
you
I
guess,
as
you
can
see
the
roads
crack,
it
had
the
pre.
You
know
it
had
a
bunch
of
cracking
in
it
and
we
went
ahead
and
overlaid
it.
E
Also
galva's
Oaks,
it
was
in
somebody
can
had
some
bad
cracking
in
it.
C
So
whenever
you
you
overlaid,
that
was
the
bad
cracks
you,
you
filled
those
cracks
with
some
type
of
filler.
E
No,
it
wasn't
when
we
went
in
there,
we
the
the
spots
that
were
failures.
We
patched
that
full
death
patch
with
12
inches
of
asphalt
these
these
These
are
superficial
cracks.
So
it's
not.
It
wasn't
nothing
with
the
the
foundation
of
the
road
okay,
so
we
can
just
pave
on
top
of
that.
E
Okay,
some
more
of
Galvez
Oaks.
E
E
And
this
is
Henry
Road,
a
constituent
called
us
was
concerned
about
the
spot
on
the
left
there.
That
was
actually
undermining
our
roadway,
so
we
sent
our
crew
out
there
to
to
fill
it
in
and
give
it
better
shoulders
of
the
the
shoulders
on
that
road
are
not
in
good
they're,
not
good
at
all.
I
know,
there's
a
road
safety
winding
coming
up
for
this
road,
but
this
is
what
we
could
do
at
the
time
to
remedy
that
situation.
E
The
if
you
you
know
if
y'all
get
a
chance
to
ride
through
that
you'll
notice
that
it's
much
better,
much
better
shape.
Swamp
Road,
this
one's
still
in
progress.
We
had
the
same
problem
with
the
the
edges,
cracking
and
our
pavement
crew
went
in
there
and
fixed
some
of
them
deep,
deep
holes,
but
we
still
got
some
more
work
to
finish.
D
E
E
That's
that's
the
end
of
that
and
that's
basically
all
I
got.
You
know
I
want
to
thank
our
crew,
while
I
got
the
time
they
do
a
fantastic
job
of
trying
to
get
this
Parish
safe
for
the
roads
to
be
traveled
on.
D
E
D
C
Thank
you
so
much
and
I
guess
we'll
go
ahead
and
join
this
meeting.
