Description
West Ascension Drainage Board - May 4, 2023
B
A
I
want
to
thank
everyone
for
coming
appreciate
you
all
tonight
at
this
time,
we'll
have
a
roll
call.
Mr
Thomas
is
here
and
Mr
robare
is
here
broke
on.
Have
any
public
comment,
anyone
wishing
to
speak
on
any
item
on
the
agenda
or
sign
the
card
and
give
it
to
miss
Peggy?
We
have
any
item
that
you
would
like
to
speak
on
on
this
agenda
number
four:
the
acceptance
of
the
minutes
of
West
Ascension
drainage,
meeting,
April,
6
2023.
A
A
A
I
should
have
someone
speaking
on
it.
There's
no
one
speaking
on
it
we'll
pass
on
it
we'll
pass
on
pass
on
it.
C
B
We
need
to
we
don't
we
can
find
out
if
it
needs
to
be
done
in
some
type
of
orderly
fashion.
We
could
couldn't
be
before
the
next
council
meeting
in
Gonzales
if
we
need
to,
but
no
I'm
not
voting
on
something
I,
don't
know
what
it.
A
Is
I
don't
know,
I
haven't
we'll
pass
on
that
number
seven
Louisiana
Watershed
initiative,
update
I,
think.
A
To
the
next
next
meeting,
all
right,
we
can
do
that.
We
have
a
motion
by
Mr
Robert
to
move
to
the
next
meeting
to
the
next
meeting,
second
by
Mr
Thomas,
to
move
this
agenda
item
to
the
next
meeting
agenda.
B
A
Okay,
any
discussion,
any
objection,
no
objection
to
no
discussion.
It's
motion
pass
moving
right
along
to
the
number
seven
Louisiana
Watershed
initiative
update,
David
wall,
executive
administrator.
C
I
just
wanted
to
put
this
on
again
and
just
to
kind
of
just
go
over
what
we're
dealing
with
in
the
second
round:
Louisiana
Watershed
initiative.
So
that
being
said,
Louisiana
Watershed
initiative
round
two
is
for
low
to
Modern
income
areas
as
weather.
The
money
is
going
to
be
spent
in
those
areas
so
region.
Six.
C
C
Yeah
and
what
we've
recently
done
from
a
parish
side
and
from
the
city
of
Donaldsonville,
we
sat
down
with
mayor
and
in
in
discussion
of
what
we're
gonna,
what
projects
that
we're
going
to
pursue
in
the
second
round.
So
the
city
is
doing
their
own
thing
in
reference
to
funds
for
the
Louisiana
Watershed
Initiative
for
drainage
from
from
within
the
city
and
we're
going
to
do
the
outside.
So
from
our
standpoint
from
the
parasite,
we're
looking
at
lemonville.
C
We're
looking
at
smoke
ban
what
you're
looking
at
doing
it.
Maybe
we're
going
to
upgrade
all
of
the
culverts
in
in
those
areas
we're
going
after
the
funds
for
those
particular
areas.
B
What
about
retention
area?
Because
we
all
know
that.
C
Yeah
we're
going
to
do
yeah,
so
we're
gonna,
we're
gonna.
Also,
look
at
verret,
that's
coming
out
of
lemonville
and
Eben
area,
headed
towards
Bayou
Napoleon,
we're
gonna,
that's
gonna,
be
a
project
water.
C
Oh
well
in
in
where
that
comes
down
and
goes
into
buying
Napoleon
Upstream
from
from.
B
C
Yeah
all
of
that
kind
of
drains
into
Barrette,
and
when
it
goes
down,
that's
where
it
hits
by
a
Napoleon
Upstream
from
the
Irish
canal
and
and
when
we.
C
C
Well,
what
I'm
going
to
try
to
do
Joe
is
is
where
by
Napoleon
comes
in
and
the
Irish
Canal
we're
looking
at
a
retention
Pond.
Now,
that's
that's
the
project
right
there.
C
So
if
we
hold
a
water
there
we're
having
to
get
a
project
to
hold
the
water
up
there,
that
will
that
will
help
the
water
come
out
of
lemon
Bill
and
they've
been
and
hit
Downstream
into
by
Napoleon,
without
all
of
that
water,
hitting
at
one
time
so
and
and
and
I'll
I'll,
either
send
something
to
you:
I'll
even
come
over
and
go
over,
which
it
wouldn't
take.
C
Okay,
okay,
so
we're
looking
at
that
and
we're
also
looking
at
in
by
in
McCall
area
Grand
Bayou
area,
also
as
a
project
digging
Grand
Bayou
going
sour
in
that
area.
We
didn't
do
anything
in
a
modest
area
because
it
was
my
understanding.
You
know
we're
not
CF
Industries
coming
up
that
way
and
and
they're
going
to
end
up
changing
some
configuration
and
drainage
up
in
that
area
to
my
understanding,
but
that
that's
down
the
road.
C
So
we
looked
at
the
the
projects
that
we
we
got
good
potential
in
getting
you
know
in
this
second
round.
So
those
are
the
projects
that
we're
going
to
put
in
for
the
second
round
and
it
looks
good
in
reference
to
low
to
Modern
income
areas.
For
us
again,
the
city
of
Johnsonville
is
handling
projects
within
the
city.
So
that's
that's!
That's
going
to
be
handled
by
them.
So,
yes,
wood.
C
Some
of
the
projects
that
will
mention
in
upsizing
culverson
in
bun,
Hood,
savoya,
Market,
Street
and
I
think
the
back
of
town
area
I,
think
they're.
Looking
at
that
also
also,
they
took
on
a
project
of
la1
and
308.
The
call
Woods
that
we've
had
troubles
are
blowing
out,
which
are
bad
they've
been
put
in
there
in
the
50s,
so
they're
going
to
be
looking
at
that
project
in
reference
handling
that
project
talking.
C
C
Do
that
one
and
I'm
not
quite
sure
what
else
they
in
discussion
with
the
engineering
firm
that
we're
dealing
with
also
is
a
mechanic
Creed,
just
also
to
update
you
guys
on
monadonna
Cataldo,
we're
at
at
a
point
where
we're
probably
gonna
get
started
with
that
project
pretty
soon
and
from
an
Administration
side,
they'll
be
getting
up
with
you
guys
for
any
groundbreaking
and
all
that
that
may
be
coming
here
pretty
soon,
so
that
that
would
be.
C
That
will
be
something
long-awaited
because
we
got
to
water
that
project
almost
two
years
ago.
Yes,.
C
D
A
A
C
Also,
we
did,
you
know
we
did
go
after
the
dotd
Grant
and
we
also
got
that
for
Bobby
McCall.
So
there's
still
some
paperwork
process
for
acceptance
of
that
Grant
from
the
past
president's
side.
So
as
soon
as
that
paperwork
and
all
that
gets
taken
care
of,
maybe
we
might
try
to
get
that
started
even
quicker
because
that's
State
versus
the
Federal.
C
So
a
lot
of
good
things,
a
lot
of
good
things
happening,
and
it
just
takes
a
while
to
get
these
things
going.
But
you
know
we
just
got
to
keep
our
chin
up
and
a
positive
attitude
and
and
just
be
patient.
You
know
I
guess
you
know
so,
but
that's
all
I
have
I
just
kind
of
want
to
come
up
here
and
mention
it
to
to
you
guys
about
where
we
at
and
what
we
got
going
on
now.
C
The
second
round,
just
to
let
you
know
in
the
second
round,
is
it's
gonna,
be
a
little
bit
along
a
process,
but
we're
gonna
have
some
meetings
here
pretty
soon
on
reference
to
the
second
round
of
Louisiana
Watershed
initiative
board
in
reference
to
how
we're
going
to
get
supporting
money
in
reference
to
H,
myelin,
BCAAs
and
those
soft
engineering.
C
So
we're
excited
about
that
part
of
it
and
getting
some
help
from
that
standpoint
to
help
us
get
these
projects.
So
it's
a
lot
of
good
things.
That's
it
thank.
A
You
next
we
have
report
drainage
and
vegetation
report,
Miss
Regina,
Thomas
supervisor,
three
depww.
D
D
A
Excuse
me
two
tractors
running
out
of
four.
We
have
four
right:
five
Bibles.
We
have
two
out
of
five:
that's
cutting
grass
right.
Yes,.
D
We
have
the
recycle
report.
The
fence
for
the
recycle
center
is
currently
being
put
up.
A
D
Yeah
we
close,
we
got
the
everything
has
been
ordered
the
fan,
putting
the
fence
up.
First
then
we'll
put
the
rest
of
the
stuff
in
after
they
finish
that
we
close
as
we
can
get
them.
Okay,
we
should
make
the
deadline.
D
We
had
96
tires
that
were
picked
up.
A
D
A
D
B
B
We
may
want
to
talk
to
somebody
like
construction
surveillance,
where
they'll
go
out
and
they'll
put
cameras
on
site,
but
they'll
have
it
to
where.
B
B
I
know
the
guy's
name
is
Travis
Acosta
his
construction
surveillance
systems,
you'll
see
them
around.
They
have
those
iron
poles
with
the
yellow
sign.
B
A
Also
Regina,
while
we're
talking
I
I,
just
like
to
thank
you
all
for
the
work
that
the
parish
I
say.
Parish
there
we're
doing
in
Port,
Barrel
in
the
city
limits
a
lot
of
stuff.
That's
going
on
in
the
city
limit
that
we
do
it
in
the
city
in
itself.
At
the
parish,
Paris
is
very
visible
in
doing
a
lot
of
stuff
within
the
city
limits,
and
you
are
a
partnering
with
with
the
city
and
working
with
them
and
them
giving
yourself.
A
You
are
some
assistance
in
doing
some
of
the
stuff
that
we're
doing
and
digging
other
ditches
that
part
of
it
that
haven't
happened.
I
would
think
in
50
years
that
we
have
done
some
of
the
stuff,
some
of
the
stuff
that
that
you've
done
in
locating
the
different
communities
that
we
have
done
in
digging
the
ditches,
lowering
the
cover
Zone
pretty
much
within
the
city
limits
and
outside
the
parish.
Also.
A
D
We're
working
on
trying
to
finish
that
up
before
school
start,
because
that
area
is
heavy
with
kids.
So
once
we
finish
that
part,
then
we're
going
to
move
back
out
to
the
outer
skirts.
So
the
main
thing
is
trying
to
get
that
done
before
school,
let
out
so
that
we
can
be
out
of
the
way
once
the
summer
come
with
the
kids
yeah.
And
then
we
all
have
we'll
work
on
our
big
projects
over
the
summer.
D
D
If
anybody
have
any
drainage
issues,
we
would
like
for
them
to
call
the
call
center
225-450-1200
put
in
a
work
order
and
then
we'll
be
able
to
contact
them
to
address
the
problem.
Nature.
A
Mr
Robert
Washington
the
church
on
smoking
in
the
big
church,
his
cold
and
he
called
in
and
he
has
a
number
70,
271
I,
think
I'm,
not
sure,
but
as
I
mentioned
he
brought
it.
That's
been
looking
at
getting
two
digging.
Those
ditches
we've
been
doing
them
on
his
prom
next.
D
Yeah
you
talking
about
on
Highway
one.
A
D
Yeah,
so
what
we're
doing
is
trying
to
get
our
entry
find
any
documentation
on
it?
If
we
don't,
we
want
to
see
if
they
want
to
give
us
a
15-foot
servitude
to
where
we
a
permanent
servitude,
where
we
can
keep
it
maintain
or
if
they
want
to
do
a
one-time
entry
and
let
us
come
in
and
clean
them
out,
and
then
they
can
maintain.
D
Yeah,
oh
also,
they
have
the
plans
drawing
up
for
the
new
and
I
should
get
them
Monday,
and
then
we
can
sit
down
and
look
at
them
and
see
what
what
they
want
to
do.
B
D
A
D
A
A
Thank
you
very
much.
Thank
you.
So
much
all
right,
number,
nine,
the
date
and
time
or
the
next
Western
drainage
board.
Meeting.
