A
B
B
Manny
well
thanks.
Everyone
thanks
for
being
here
good
just
afternoon,
I'm
chair,
corey,
atkins
and
welcome
to
the
march
2nd
2021
committee
meeting
of
the
civic
center
commission
for
those
of
you
who
are
new
to
us
we're
just
watching
the
first
time
and
we've
been
here
for
over.
B
I
guess
it's
been
like
what
a
year
now
chris
since
we've
met,
which
it's
crazy
to
think
about
and
staff's
been
through
a
lot,
but
we
really
want
to
talk
about
today,
sort
of
getting
back
to
the
basics
a
little
bit,
and
I
know
chris
can
get
into
an
update
later
about
what
the
civic
standards
commission
role
is
and
how
important
it
is
for
our
community
in
the
city.
B
The
work
that
we
do.
We
have
nine
committee
members,
seven
appointed
by
the
city,
two
appointed
by
the
county.
We
also
have
voting
members,
that
is,
we
also
have
ex-official
members,
which
include
the
executive
director
of
the
symphony,
an
ex-officio
explorer
asheville
seat,
ex-officio
member
dent
bradford
who's,
president
of
the
asheville
buncombe
regional
sports,
commission
and,
of
course,
a
number
of
staff
members
from
the
city
as
well
that
we'll
get
to
in
a
moment
thanks
everyone
for
your
patience
for
us
going
to
work
through
all
this.
B
Of
course,
I'd
love
to
be
in
person
with
you
all
in
the
banquet
hall,
as
we
normally
have
these
meetings,
and
hopefully
we'll
get
back
to
that
soon.
But
for
now
we
are
streaming
virtually.
This
is
being
recorded
and
available
live
to
the
public
just
so
everyone
keeps
that
in
mind,
since
we
haven't
done
one
of
these.
Yet
this
is
our
virtual
engagement
hub,
which
is
accessible
through
the
virtual
engagement
hub
engagement,
hub
link
on
the
front
page
of
the
city
website,
and
also
linked
on
our
committee
page.
B
B
We
have
a
lot
of
new
members,
and
so
we've
had
some
people
roll
off
due
to
tenure
and
some
folks
resign
and
have
some
new
appointees
from
the
city
and
county.
And
so
what
I'd
like
to
do
is
have
each
of
you
introduce
yourself
give
the
organization
or
that
you
represent,
or
your
day
job,
for
instance,
and
then
also
tell
us
just
a
little
bit
about
why
you're
interested
and
why
you
have
volunteered
to
be
on
the
civic
center
commission.
B
F
Good
afternoon
I
am
with
premier
sotheby's
realty
here
in
asheville,
and
I've
been
living
here
since
2003
and
love
being
involved,
love,
helping
and
civic
center
is
a
hub
for
our
community
and
love
doing
what
I
can
to
help
in
any
way.
So.
G
Miss
thanks.
My
name
is
john
ellison,
the
retired
managing
director
of
the
diana
wortham
theater.
Now
the
wortham
center
for
the
performing
arts
join
the
commission
to
stay
engaged
in
the
community
in
full
disclosure.
I
am
wearing
two
hats
today,
because
I
joined
the
board
of
the
asheville
symphony
and
when
david
whitehill
left,
they
tapped
me
to
be
the
interim
executive
director
during
the
search,
so
I'm
here
kind
of
as
a
commissioner,
but
also
the
interim
executive
director
of
the
asheville
symphony,
but
sally
keaney
is
also
here
from
the
symphony
today.
Thank
you.
B
Great
and
thank
you
for
your
service
in
that
capacity
john,
we
appreciate
it
donna
bailey
don,
it's
good
to
see
you.
H
B
Have
the
there
we
go,
I
got.
H
It
I
went
up
to
my
picture
and
that
didn't
work
good
afternoon,
everybody,
it's
lovely,
to
join
everyone
and
actually
see
faces
that
I've
heard
so
much
about
over
the
years.
I
my
I
work
with
the
sports
commission.
I
work
with
the
university's,
athletic
commission
or
board.
I
work
with
a
university
foundation
board
and
I've
always
just
been
a
public
servant
whenever
I
can
and
wherever
I
can
based
on
my
previous
background-
and
this
is
really
a
privilege
to
be
with
this
tremendous
group
of
people
in
this
great
organization.
So
thank
you.
B
Thank
you
donna
glad
glad
to
have
you
here,
chris
one
another
one
of
our
new
members
good
to
see
you
this
morning.
I
And
bands
and
events
I've
worked
with
a
number
of
of
local
organizations
like
explore,
asheville
and
thomas
wolfe,
and
I'm
just
really
interested
in
being
more
involved
with
the
community
and
and
this
felt
like
a
really
good
place
to
go
with
the
with
the
civic
commission.
B
Great,
that's
awesome
and
you
can
hear
my
buzzer.
My
dryer
load
is
done.
If
you
want
anybody
wants
to
help
me
build
laundry
also
joining
us
here,
the
commission
members.
We
have
shay
brown.
I
don't
see
you
in
my
screen,
but
I'm
not
good
at
google
me.
So
I
presume
you're.
There.
K
I'm
shea
brown
and
I
have
chevron
events
and
shea
brown
events
management
group
here
in.
K
B
Thank
you
and
thank
you
for
volunteering.
Thank
you
for
being
here.
Do
we
have
any
other
commission
members
I
want
to
get
to
our
ex
officios,
and
so
they
can
introduce
themselves
as
well,
especially
to
our
new
members,
so
you
know
who
they
are.
Do
we
have
any
other
voting,
commissioner?
Looking
at
the
list,
I
don't
see
everyone
on
my
screen
right
now,.
A
I
believe
we
got
everybody.
Greg
is
unavailable
due
to
a
family
emergency
and
nicole
lee.
B
Is
unable
to
make
it
so
it's
okay,
so
greg
greg
enough
is
the
vice
chair
for
those
of
you
and
then
he's
with
glory
hound
events
and
nicole
lee
is
a
new
member.
Another
new
committee
member,
unfortunately
can't
be
here
with
us
with
that.
I
do
want
to
recognize.
B
We
do
have
our
newest
city
council
member,
who
is
our
new
liaison,
as
you
remember,
vijay
kapoor
last
year
was
our
liaison
and
we're
glad
to
have
antoinette
mosley,
as
our
new
liaison
for
city
council
and
I'd
love
to
recognize
you
and
give
you
just
a
minute
to
speak
as
to
why
you
are
interested
in
the
civic
center
commission,
thanks
for
being
here.
E
C
E
Said
I'm
anthony
mosley,
I
am
an
asheville
native,
an
attorney
by
profession
and
a
member
of
asheville
city
council,
and
I
will
function
as
your
liaison
to
the
council.
So
I'm
interested
in
hearing
your
cares.
Your
concerns
banning
about
ideas
and
just
a
place
you
can
go
to
to
springboard
ideas
again
from
the
area.
I've
seen
the
civic
center
in
many
different
iterations
and
I'm
going
to
see
what
we're
going
to
do
once
we're
out
of
code
and
hit
the
ground
running.
So
thanks
a
lot
cory.
B
D
B
Okay,
that's
great,
and
hopefully
we'll
hear
something
about
that
soon
excited
to
see
where
that
goes.
Let's
see
sam,
I'm
not
gonna,
recognize
you
yet
for
a
few
reasons,
diana
is
on
with
us.
Diana
pierce
was
asking
cb
daniel.
Would
you
introduce
yourself
everyone
thanks
for
being
here
absolutely.
L
Well,
thank
you
and
good
afternoon
everybody
and
I
see
many
familiar
faces
on
this
commission.
The
convention
of
visitors
bureau
has
had
a
long-standing
spot
ex-official
member
on
on
this
commission,
and
I've
had
the
privilege
of
working
with
many
of
you
for
a
very
long
time.
So
it's
a
natural
fit
because
of
what
we
do.
My
department,
in
particular
works
with
in
the
group
space
with
meetings
conventions,
any
groups
of
10
or
more
people.
L
B
A
He's
here
with
us,
but
he
is
not
here
on
the
call
right
now
he's
over
in
the
arena
right
now,
working
on
some
stuff
getting
ready
for
this,
but
he
did
say
he's
gonna
try
to
pop
on
here.
So
hopefully
he'll
see
him
in
a.
B
Little
while
okay,
maybe
we'll
hear
from
him
in
a
moment,
man
with
that,
I
do
want
to
recognize,
I
believe,
that's
everyone
who's,
a
current
voting
committee,
member
and
or
ex
official
who's
with
us
right
now.
I
do
want
to
give
out
a
special
shout
out
recognition
to
a
long-standing
commission
member
who
has
since
rolled
off
but
we're
honored
to
have
joined
us
here
today.
Someone
who
honestly
has
put
putting
more
countless
effort
and
energy
and
volunteer
hours
than
anyone.
B
I've
probably
met
since
I've
lived
in
asheville
and
without
whom
you
know
things
like
the
downtown
dribble
with
socon.
You
just
mentioned,
wouldn't
happen.
A
lot
of
blue
ridge
pride
events
that
you've
seen
around
town,
anything
that's
actually
going
on
at
the
civic
center
and
or
downtown
five
you
wouldn't.
If
you
haven't
seen
this
person,
then
you
haven't
been
to
any
of
those
events
in
the
last
20
years.
So,
but
I
do
want
to
recognize
yvonne
cook
riley
for
her
years
of
service
on
this
civic
center
commission
devon.
B
We're
definitely
sad
to
see
you
go
and
we'll
miss
you
here,
but
obviously
it's
an
open
door
and
we
welcome
your
expertise
and
your
efforts
anytime.
You
want
to
be
a
part
of
this
group.
You
are
always
welcome
and
since
we
didn't
get
to
have
your
last
meeting,
we're
not
going
to
present
you
with
a
plaque
here
today,
but
chris
assures
me
that
we're
going
to
have
one
and
we'll
make
sure
we
get
it
to
you
one
way
or
the
other
and
I'd
love
to
give
it
to
you
in
person.
B
But
if
we
need
to
ship
it
to
you,
so
you
can
put
it
on
your
wall
before
then.
That's
totally
fine
by
me
too.
If
that's
fine
with
you,
but
if
you'd
like
to
say
anything,
you
want
I'd
like
to
open
up
and
give
you
a
chance
to
speak
to
your
time
and
and
maybe
some
words
of
wisdom
for
our
new
members
who
are
on
the
commission.
Now.
B
Okay,
I
wouldn't
give
her
the
recognition
she
deserves,
so
I'm
happy
to
just
leave
that
leave
that
alone.
For
now,
we'll
hopefully
have
another
chance
to
give
on
her
dues.
Thank
you,
yvonne
for
your
service
and
you'll
definitely
be
missed
on
this
commission
by
me,
certainly,
and
I'm
sure,
by
staff
as
well
demp.
B
I
saw
you
joined
us
later,
so
I
I
went
around
and
with
committee
members
all
introduced
themselves,
but
I
did
want
all
the
ex
officials
to
introduce
themselves
as
well,
especially
to
our
new
folks
who
might
not
know
you
yet.
Please
give
us
a
quick,
intro
and
and
tell
us
what
you
what
you
do,
hey
dad
thanks
for
being
here.
J
I
don't
know
what
I
do.
Let's
see,
no,
my
name
is
deb
bradford
and
I'm
president
of
the
asheville
buncombe
regional
sports
commission.
We
work
very
closely
with
chris
to
bring
sporting
events
to
the
harris
cherokee
center
asheville.
B
Yeah,
thank
you
for
that
and
all
the
work
you
do
with
the
sports
commission
and
we
definitely
appreciate
having
you
here
in
this
community.
B
I
just
want
to
make
sure
everyone's
well
acquainted
before
we
go
on
and
it's
just
hard
to
do
these
things
virtually
I'm
sure
everyone's
as
sick
as
these
meetings
as
I
am,
but
sam
powers
has
been
the
civic
center
director
for
as
long
as
I
know,
anyways
man
I'm
not
going
to
date,
you,
but
as
long
as
I
can
remember
and
you're
retiring,
I
believe
here
pretty
soon
you
can
get
the
exact
date
when
you
want,
but
I
want
to
say
personally
thank
you
for
your
guidance
and
leadership
on
this
commission
for
being
the
staff
director
for
the
city
and
all
your
years
of
service.
B
I
can't
think
of
an
event
I
came
to
either
before
I
was
on
this
commission
or
since
or
volunteered
that
that
you
weren't
present,
and
so
I
know,
you've
put
a
lot
of
time
and
energy
into
this
facility
and
what
we
do
here,
and
so
I
wanted
to
recognize
and
thank
you
for
your
service
and
and
appreciate
the
next
chapter
of
your
life
and
whatever
you
decide
to
do.
But
you'll
be
missed,
say
a
few
things.
If
you
want
here
to
our
group.
M
Thank
you,
mr
chairman,
yeah
I'll,
be
brief.
You
know
11
plus
years
working
with
the
civic
center
and
the
great
staff
we
have
and
16
years
with
the
city
working
in
community
and
economic
development
and
I've
told
someone
this
morning.
You
know
every
day
is
different.
M
Some
days
are
more
challenging
than
others,
but
there's
never
been
a
day
that
I
haven't,
wanted
to
get
up
and
and
come
to
work
and
work
on
behalf
of
the
folks
and
the
residents
of
the
city
and
my
team
members
and
so
it'll
be
different,
but
I'm
excited
for
the
next
chapter
and
I'm
sure
I
will
still
be
around
some.
So
it's
been
great
working
with
everyone
and
I
appreciate
the
recognition.
B
Absolutely
and
thank
you
sam
we'll,
be
talking
soon,
I'm
sure
we'll
be
seeing
you
around
despite
your
quote-unquote
retirement
and
also,
I
think
I
failed
to
mention
this
when
I
introduced
her
but
diana.
I
believe
this
is
your
last
meeting
as
well.
Am
I
correct
on
that?
Are
you
also
hanging
up
the
cleats
since
we're
in
a.
L
Yeah
yeah,
after
about
25
years
with
the
convention
of
visitors,
bureau
and
serving
in
two
times
and
in
many
different
occupations,
this
will
be
my
last
meeting.
We
are
in
the
process
of
hiring
the
new
position,
so
it'll
be
very
exciting
and
will
help
take
the
team
to
the
next
step.
But
but
yes
and
the
intention
is
of
course
to
remain
in
the
community,
so
I'm
sure
I'll
have
the
chance
to
see
many
of
you
and
work
with
you
in
the
future.
But
thank
you.
B
I'm
sure
and
hey
we
all
know
it's
a
full-time
job,
keeping
john
in
line
regardless
of
whether
you're
working
in
a
daydream
or
not.
So
good
luck
with
that,
but
thank
you
again
for
your
service
and
best
of
luck
to
you
as
well.
Thank
you
for
that.
Chris.
I
do
not
have
the
agenda
right
in
front
of
me.
I
will
tell
the
folks
that
are
watching
online
or
viewing
this
later
on.
B
I
will
do
my
best
to
call
out
each
of
our
agenda
items
as
we
move
through
the
agenda
and
then
for
those
of
you
on
who
are
voting
members.
We
will
have
to
verbally
vote
a
or
nay
on
anything
that
does
have
a
vote
attached
to
it.
So
I'll
have
to
call
you
out
individually
to
do
that
while
we
are
are
present
and
if
we
have
a
vote,
can
you
send
me
the
agenda
really
quick.
Chris
is
that
in
the
chat
now
it
will
be
momentarily.
A
B
A
C
Right
and
corey,
if
I
could
hop
in
real
quick
just
if
anybody
wants
to
change
the
layout
of
the
google
meets
where
you
can
actually
see
everybody.
I
think
a
lot
of
people
are
deferred
to
six
or
nine
in
the
bottom
right
hand,
corner
you'll,
see
three
vertical
dots
should
be
right
next
to
the
present
now
button,
if
you
click
that
it'll
show
an
option
to
change
layout.
C
Okay,
once
you
click
that
select
the
tiled
function
and
it'll
show
everybody
all
at
once.
Just
so,
you
can
see
that
bring
by
that
one
side
view.
B
C
Do
you
have
anything
we're
not
set
up
for
that
function,
app
right
now,
but
also
with
the
people
that
have
engaged
with
the
live
stream?
There
is
no
formal
request
for
questions
or
anything.
Okay,.
B
Thank
you
as
such
the
need
for
an
informal
discussion,
and
so
we'll
start
with
antoinette.
I
know
we,
you
just
gave
a
brief
introduction,
but
if
you
have
anything
from
city
council
that
we
typically
do
an
update
and
do
a
around
the
horn
kind
of
thing.
So
if
you
have
anything
from
the
city
and
city
council
that
will
be
relevant,
and
we
need
to
hear
about
here-
we're
happy
to
hear
it.
E
B
M
You
so
much
if
I
could
interrupt,
and
I
I
never
want
to
put
words
in
our
city
counselor's
mouths,
but
the
thing
I
would
share
that
I
think
councilwoman
mosley
might
want
us
all
to
be
aware
of.
Is
we
started
the
budget
process,
and
so
our
first
city
council
budget
workshop
will
be
a
week
from
today
at
one
o'clock
and
the
just
like
city
council
meetings.
M
The
budget
workshops
are
streamed,
live
on
on
the
city's
youtube
channel
and
so
again,
if
you're
interested
in
the
budget
process,
this
will,
as
as
councilwoman
mosley
knows,
will
be
the
first
of
many
opportunities
for
the
boards
and
commissions
and
the
public
to
watch
and
to
communicate
with
council
as
the
as
the
city's
budget
process
moves
forward
towards
an
adoption
in
in
early
june.
But
our
first
city
council
budget
workshop
is
a
week
from
today.
M
You're
welcome.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Councilwoman
mosley,
for
letting
me
add
that,
for
on
your
behalf,.
B
And
I
do
think
we'll
hear
some
budget
projections
during
the
general
managers
report.
Sam
so
hopefully
get
a
good
chance
to
look
at
some
of
that
and
what
we
need
to
advocate
for,
if
possible
up
next
from
the
sports
commission
them
do.
You
have
update
for
us.
I
know
there's
nothing
going
on
at
the
civic
center
this
weekend.
J
Isn't
it
not
a
thing?
No,
not
a
thing.
No,
we
we
will
be
starting
teams
that
started.
Arriving
practice
starts
tomorrow.
Games
start
on
thursday
for
the
southern
conference
ingles
southern
conference
basketball
championships
presented
by
general
show-
and
I
just
want
to
thank
chris
and
his
staff
for
all.
They
have
done
to
put
things
together
and
and
make
things
work.
J
J
We
are
fortunate
with
the
governor's
changes
in
his
guidelines
that
we
were
able
to
have
a
limited
number
of
fans.
The
number
of
fans
is
15
of
the
total
occupancy
of
facilities
over
5
thousand,
but
we
felt
that
it
was
very
important
to
look
more
at
safety,
so
we
are
all
in
pods
of
two.
J
Those
pods
of
two
are
six
feet
socially
distant,
so
our
number
is
544
for
the
number
of
guests
that
will
be
attending
and
that
is
eight
and
a
half
percent
versus
15
percent.
So
the
you
know
we
also
are
looking
at
airing.
I
will
say
airing
we
want
to
look
at.
How
do
we
mitigate
risks
and
we
did
work
extensively
with
buncombe,
county
health
and
human
services,
a
special
shout
out
to
fletcher
for
all
of
his
hard
work
and
tim
love
for
all
of
his
her
hard
work.
J
But
we
will
be
chris,
I
think
we're
launching
the
new
app
version
for
ordering
concessions,
so
everyone
will
order
concessions
on
an
app
on
their
phone,
so
there's
no
transferring
of
cash.
They
will
either
be
delivered
to
their
seat
or
there
will
be
a
special
pickup
area,
so
it'll
be
basically
contactless.
J
J
Also,
everyone
will
be
in
the
upper
level
as
opposed
to
the
teams
and
the
the
support
staff
which
are
tier
one
and
tier
two
and
will
be
down
on
the
main
floor.
The
teams
will
be
tested
daily,
using
pcr
testing,
just
like
we
did
for
the
maui
invitational
and
actually
using
the
same
company.
J
So
we
feel
like
that,
while
we
are
having
some
guests
here
that
most
of
these
are
going
to
be
family
and
individuals
who
have
been
attending
games
all
year
at
the
schools,
and
so
we
feel
like
that
in
general,
we've
mitigated
a
lot
of
the
risk
that
there
are.
We
will
have
some
challenges.
J
We
know
that
and
but
I
know
that
also
chris
and
his
staff
are
ready
to
go
and
and
help
in
any
way
fashion
or
form.
We
try
to
anticipate
as
many
things
as
possible,
but
you
know
we
know
that
they're
going
to
be
some
things
that
come
up
and
then
we'll
you
know
we'll
start
to
move
forward
looking
for
additional
events
in
the
upcoming
year
and
just
see
what
we
can
do
and
but
again
thanks
to
chris
and
his
staff
for
all
their
hard
work.
J
And
then
I
would
be
remiss
if
I
didn't
thank
diana
for
all.
D
J
Hard
work
and
her
staff's
hard
work,
not
only
for
this
event.
For
all
events,
you
know
it's,
I
think,
we're
we
we're
losing
a
lot
with
diana,
because
diana
is
a
true.
She
understands
sports
she's
been
supportive
of
the
sports
commission
since
I've
been
here
and
she
was
on
the
board
before.
J
So
just
just
letting
y'all
know
that
both
of
y'all
that
ray
is
ray's
already
got
you
down
so
you're
just
going
to
join
the
you're
going
to
join
the
beer
players
so,
but
that's
all
and
then
again
thank
you
to
buncombe
county
and
the
city
of
asheville
for
all
the
hard
work
and
getting
things
prepared
and
approved
for
this
week.
J
B
Depth,
well
good
luck
with
that,
mr
bradford,
and
we
appreciate
your
work
and
to
all
the
staff
members
who
are
really.
I
mean
it's
still
a
boost
for
our
local
economy
and
still
a
big
deal
for
us
to
host
this
event
and
we're
very
proud
to
have
it.
And
you
know
it
takes
a
lot
of
coordination,
a
lot
of
dedicated
people,
doing
the
right
things
and
being
safe,
and
so
we
really
appreciate
y'all
doing
that
and-
and
let
us
know
if
you
need
anything
from
us
next,
diana
update
from
the
cvb.
L
Sure
happy
to
do
so.
Thank
you.
One
of
the
best
ways
that
the
commission
members
can
stay
informed
of
kind
of
what's
happening
at
the
explore
asheville
convention
and
visitors
bureau,
as
well
as
the
buncombe
county
tourism
development
authority
is
short
of
attending.
One
of
our
meetings,
which
is
held
monthly
right
now
by
way
of
go
to
webinar,
is
to
sign
up
for
the
buncombe
county
tourism,
development,
tourism,
community
update
and
after
this
meeting
I'll,
make
sure
and
send
a
link
to
chris
or
matthew
that
can
be
sent
out
to
everybody.
L
This
is
a
a
recap:
a
newsletter
recap
that
comes
out
immediately
after
the
tourism
development
authority
meeting
that
kind
of
highlights
what
happened
at
the
meeting
actions
taken,
there's
a
tremendous
amount
of
activity.
So
this
is
a
good,
quick
way
to
be
informed
quickly
of
the
workings
of
the
authority
and
explore
asheville
who
who
basically
operationalizes
the
program
of
work
for
the
for
the
authority.
So
that
would
be
the
big
thing
because
it
would
be
hard
at
this
point
to
cover
a
year's
worth
of
activities,
since
we
haven't
had
that
chance
to
meet
so.
B
L
Oh
for
me
personally
or
for
well,
I
would
say
really
the
way
that
we've
been
able
to
adapt
and
change
throughout
this
pandemic.
L
You
know
the
message
has
shifted,
the
focus
has
shifted,
our
activities
have
shifted
and
it
has
all
all
been
around.
How
can
we
continue
to
promote
in
the
efforts
of
all
of
our
local
partners
during
this
incredibly
difficult
time
and
work
with
those
inbound
visitors
who
have
you
know
who
to
meet
safely?
L
Safety
is
a
big
message
that
we
have
now
and,
as
we
continue
throughout
this
recovery-
and
you
know
making
sure
that
the
people
who
are
coming
to
this
community
are
aware
of
what
what
we
need
in
the
way
of
keeping
the
community
safe
us
safe.
Our
business
partners
say
so
it's
it's
been
a
just,
I
think
for
all
of
us.
L
This
has
been
a
year
that
will
just
go
down
in
infamy
right
for
all
of
us,
because
we've
had
to
shift
and
change
and
adapt,
and
I
believe
the
convention
of
visitors
bureau
has
done
a
good
job
in
doing
that.
So
that
would
be
kind
of
the
biggest
accomplishment
is
making
it
through.
To
this
point
and
preparing
for
what
we
know
will
be
a
recovery,
I
I
really
think
that
would
be
it
for
me
personally,
as
well
as
professionally.
B
G
Like
most
performing
arts
groups
hanging
on
for
dear
life,
through
this
pandemic,
the
symphony
had
been
mostly
doing
last
fall
outdoor
concerts
in
people's
yards
driveways,
wherever
they
wish
to
host
us.
A
lot
of
other
performing
arts
organizations
had
shifted
to
live
streaming.
The
symphony
is
just
getting
into
that.
G
G
So
we
were
all
set
telling
the
the
subscribers
we
will
be
providing
this
recorded
streamed
product,
because
we
cannot
have
live
performances
and
then
the
restrictions
got
loosened
so
now
we're
adapting
to.
Perhaps
we
can
have
a
small
limited
audience
while
we
are
recording
these
events,
so
we're
going
through
that
whole
process
of.
Can
we
do
this?
How
can
we
do
it?
How
can
we
do
it
safely?
B
John,
is
there
an
update
on
the
timeline
for
searching
for
an
executive
director?
Is
there
a
search,
firm
involved,
or
do
you
guys
have
committee
put
together
how's.
G
That
going
to
go,
thank
you
for
asking
yes,
there
is.
There
is
a
search
committee
going.
I
would
there
was
one
formed
less
than
a
year
ago,
when
david
first
announced
that
he
was
leaving
and
then
due
to
covid
decided
to
remain.
G
I
was
on
that
search
committee,
so
I
am
currently
on
the
search
committee
and
I
have
a
vested
interest
to
see
that
this
goes
along
very
quickly
and
efficiently,
and
sam
and
diana
all
that
stuff
about
telling
you
people
will
find
things
for
you
to
do
in
retirement.
Believe
them
they
will.
G
So
we
are
in
they've,
done
initial
interviews,
we'll
be
in
final
interviews
and
hopefully
we'll
be
in
a
position
to
be
making
someone
an
offer.
First
of
next.
B
Okay,
thank
you
both
for
your
service.
In
that
capacity,
we
appreciate
it.
Next,
we
move
on
to
general
manager's
report
and
I
believe,
matthew
you're,
going
to
kick
us
off
with
the
marketing
report
for
the
year.
C
That
is
correct.
I
about
every
other
commission
meeting,
we'll
kind
of
put
together
a
little
snapshot
of
recent
activities
and
some
metrics
that
are
being
put
forth
by
the
venue
for
that
a
lot
of
traffic
in
here
right
now.
Here.
B
Well,
you
know
why
he's
adjusting
to
that
everyone
if
you
go
to
the
agenda,
there's
a
link
to
the
report.
C
And
I'm
I'm
posting
the
the
marketing
link
right
now
in
the
documents
in
the
chat
right
there.
If
you
want
to
take
a
look
and
do
it,
I'm
also
going
to
present
my
screen
lots
of
things
happening
this
week.
I
don't
know
what
jeff
was
talking
about.
There's
a
lot
of
things
happening
at
the
video
this
week,
we'll
get
those
set.
C
C
All
right
is
everybody
see
them
from
there,
okay,
all
right,
so
one
of
the
first
things.
C
Obviously,
you
know
we
we've
had
a
down
year
in
terms
of
the
norm,
quality
and
quantity
of
events
that
we
had,
but
before
that
we
actually
kicked
off
the
year
with
the
renaming
of
the
venue
as
the
harris
cherokee
center
asheville,
we
were
able
to
also
include
great
events
like
the
2020
socon
tournament,
which
was
actually
one
of
the
last
events
that
were
able
to
host
here,
as
well
as
sold
out
nights
with
the
lumineers
sergio
simpson.
C
We
were
able
to
also
host
a
number
of
different
like
community
focused
events
and
one
of
the
pictures
you'll
see
there
is
actually
shea
brown,
who
is
very
essential
to
helping
us
work
with
actual
music
professionals
to
feed
musicians
in
the
community
over
that,
as
well
as
numerous
different
efforts
from
the
red
alert
restart
to
promote
saving
the
music
and
venue
industry,
as
well
as
a
music
love
and
you
campaign,
which
we
teamed
up
with
multiple
different
music
venues.
C
C
On
page
three,
we'll
see
a
few
of
the
press
hits
that
we've
had
over
there
in
conjunction
working
with
mason
jar
media,
we
launched
a
campaign
revolving
around
the
name
change,
as
well
as
our
efforts
to
launch
a
renovation
project
for
the
thomas
wolfe,
which
got
featured,
hits
and
billboard
as
well
as
ford's
magazine,
wlos
avl
today,
as
well
as
different
features
for
that
on
page
four
you'll
notice,
an
industry
feature
in
billboard
magazine,
which
features
chris
coral,
the
lumineers
and
select
artist
management
celebrating
their
kickoff
of
their
world
tour.
C
At
that
time
I
can't
remember
how
far
down
they
got
the
road
on
that
tour,
but
we
were
able
to
host
the
two
sold
out
nights
for
them
here
in
asheville,
and
part
of
that
was
also
working
with
their
team
to
host
rehearsals
inside
of
the
venue
for
a
couple
of
weeks
before
that,
following
that,
you
know,
obviously,
with
the
event
shutdown
we
were,
we
were
not
able
to
host
a
large-scale
number
of
events,
but
one
things
we
wanted
to
focus
on.
C
You
know,
especially
under
chris
and
sam's
leadership,
was
to
have
high
impact
low
fan
events,
and
that
was
part
of
the
announcement
in
conjunction
with
demp
and
the
sports
commission
too,
and
cvb,
and
a
lot
of
partners
involved
in
that,
but
bringing
the
maui
invitational
to
asheville
north
carolina,
which
saw
international
press,
hits
mentioning
the
venue,
as
well
as
the
city
of
asheville,
for
that
some
of
the
bigger
names
that
we
have
for
that
they
come
into
it
all,
obviously
wlos
says
sometimes,
but
there's
mentions
in
washington
post,
where
chris
was
actually
featured.
C
We're
discussing
some
of
the
covic
protocols
that
we
implemented
to
make
that
event
possible.
In
the
first
place,
more
lines
along
the
music
level,
new
partnerships,
as
well
as
coverage
for
how
I
believe
it
was
six
upwards
of
16
members
of
the
venue
staff-
were
actually
played
a
pivotal
role
in
launching
the
covet
19
protocol,
tracing
registration
and
scheduling
for
testing
in
buncombe
county
as
well.
C
I'm
going
to
embarrass
chris
here
for
a
quick
moment.
Chris
was
actually
selected
as
a
or
nominated
as
a
potential
member
for
the
generation
next
award
social
recipient
as
part
of
pole
star,
which
is
one
of
the
leading
outlets
in
our
industry.
He
didn't
win,
but
he
won
all
of
our
hearts.
I'll
tell
you
that
right
now,
as
well
as
like
me
on
matt
miano,
our
events
manager
located
right
there
for
that
another
present,
for
we
hosted
a
distribution
center
with
united
way
for
providing
backpacks
and
supplies
for
area
students.
C
For
the
next
part
kind
of
more
of
the
matrix
numbers,
I
don't
expect
everybody
to
kind
of
read
and
review
this.
For
that.
Obviously,
you
know
the
biggest
things
that
take
away
is,
while
we
didn't
have
the
same
amount
of
engagement
activity
inside
the
venue.
C
Part
of
that
too
also
affected
our
social
media
presence
for
it
and
the
year
year-to-year
comparison
from
2020
versus
2019,
while
our
audience
did
grow
roughly
by
9.2,
we
did
see
almost
double-digit
drops
in
terms
of
audience
net
audience
growth,
published
posts,
impressions,
engagements
and
engagement
per
impression.
Now,
a
lot
of
that
is
because
we
do
work
with
our
events
and
promoters
to
host
events.
While
we
didn't
have
as
many
events
we
weren't
posting
as
much.
C
Therefore,
we
didn't
also
have
that
same
amount
of
engagement
and
some
of
the
events
you
know.
While
we
could
have
posted
about
them,
we
wanted
to
focus
on
events
that
had
a
realistic
chance
of
occurring
as
opposed
to
promoting
events
that
would
just
be
rescheduled
the
week
after.
So
we
wanted
to
make
sure
that
the
messages
we
were
conveying
about
events
occurrences
were
had
a
stronger
sense
of
eventuality.
C
For
that
over
the
next
few
pages,
you'll
see
the
kind
of
the
breakdown
of
those
metrics
over
the
year
and
how
they
apply
to
it
all,
with
different
charts
and
graphs,
which
I
know
everybody
loves
talking
about
charts
and
graphs.
But
chris
is
going
to
have
a
lot
of
that
on
his
segment.
So
I
don't
want
to
ruin
all
the
good
fun
for
him
in
that
regard,
but
this
document
is
free
for
you
to
view
at
any
time
to
go
around
there.
C
Some
of
our
top
social
media
on
page
12.
you'll
see
some
of
our
top
social
media
posts.
By
that
you
know.
Obviously,
two
of
those
are
memes
two
of
those
come
from
the
maui
invitational
featuring
the
t,
the
winning
teams,
as
well
as
our
bill
walton
and
jerry
garcia,
cardboard
cutouts,
which
have
conveniently
disappeared
from
the
venue
we're
trying
to
find
them.
We'll
keep
you
updated
on
that
for
future
meetings.
C
C
C
Where
you
see
in
january
february
march,
we
had
just
you
know
upwards
of
almost
eighty
thousand
page
views
in
february
and
how
those
numbers
have
been
affected
by
the
decline
in
having
events
being
available
to
us
here
in
the
venue.
You
know
with
the
governor's
announcement
and
recent
changes
to
occupancy
and
event
occurrences.
We
do
foresee
those
numbers
coming
back
and
actually
responding
even
stronger
than
before.
C
One
of
the
most
notable
things
outside
of
the
name
change
was
a
full
website,
rebrand
that
we
did
that
we
launched
with
alongside
the
name
change
where,
in
the
top
side,
you'll
see
the
us
cellular
center
asheville
homepage
and
how
that's
differed
not
just
in
terms
of
color
and
layout,
but
the
actual
functionality
with
it.
We
worked
with
our
design
team,
integrative
media,
as
well
as
inside
on-site
staff,
as
well
as
the
general
public,
to
figure
out
what
was
necessary.
C
What
was
important
and
how
can
we
improve
the
guest
expectations
and
customer
key
points
with
them
with
that,
and
one
of
those
things
too
is
improving
better
options
for
people
to
buy
tickets,
so
they're
not
clicking
three
to
seven
clicks,
just
to
buy
tickets.
If
you
want
to
see
an
event,
you
have
a
direct
link
to
buy
a
ticket
directly
from
there,
as
well
as
incorporating
options
for
customer
contact
to
the
venue
directly
and
parking
availability
which
works
with
in
real
time
with
the
city
of
asheville's
parking
app
through
embeds,
as
well
as
download
options.
C
So
that
way,
as
people
are
coming
here,
they
have
better
options
to
be
able
to
find
information,
not
just
for
the
events
that
are
current
here,
but
how
to
really
navigate
coming
to
an
event
leaving
an
event
or
some
of
the
options
that
are
available
to
them,
while
they're
in
downtown
nashville
on
the
secondary
page,
you'll,
see
a
mobile
layout
and
see
how
much
of
those
things
are
changing
from
there.
C
So
that
consists
of
most
of
everything.
Obviously
this
is
in
the
line-by-line
read
of
everything
and
I'm
happy
to
kind
of
go
more
in
depth
on
any
of
the
charts.
Everybody
does
it,
but
if
anybody
else
has
any
other
questions,
we
can
return
back
to
that.
C
So
I
open
up
the
table
if
anybody
does
have
any
questions.
Comments
concerns
more
than
happy
to
address
or
answer
any
of
those.
B
B
Matthew,
thank
you
for
that.
I
mean
that's
in
depth,
but
you
know
like
it's
been
a
long
time
since
we've
had
a
chance
to
meet
and
seeing
that
graph
just
makes
sort
of
the
you
know
the
tough
year
it's
been
all
around
so
evident
and
that
the
social
media
posts
are
even
taking
a
hit
as
far
as
that,
but
it
looks
like
they're
up
ticking
since
october.
B
So
that's
always
great
and
thank
you
for
all
your
work
in
that
for
everything
you
do
and
I'm
optimistic,
I'm
bullish
on
the
on
the
future,
and
so
I'm
hopeful
that
that
graph
will
only
continue
to
grow.
For
our
sake,
chris,
I
believe
you're
up
next.
If
no
one
has
anything
for
matthew,
budget
projections,
yep.
A
I'm
sure
this
is
what
everyone
is
curious
about,
so
I'll
share
my
screen
here
to
the
document,
which
is
also
you,
can
link
off
of
the
agenda.
If
you
want
to
go
direct
to
it.
So
let
me
see
some
nodding
heads.
Do
you
guys
see
that
little
spreadsheet
awesome?
Okay?
A
A
So
our
anticipated
revenues
are
going
to
go
up
slightly,
but
honestly,
not
nothing
significant
compared
to
what
you're
seeing
here.
So
when
we
put
this
all
together,
as
you
can
see
our
general
revenues,
we've
got
the
first
line
here,
which
is
revised
budget.
So
that's
the
final
budget
that
got
put
in
and
approved
by
council
for
the
start
of
this
current
fiscal
year,
which
started
in
july
of
2020.
A
our
year-to-date
actual
revenues,
as
you
can
see,
compared
to
the
2.7
that
we
anticipated
when
we
put
this
budget
together
back
in
april,
when
we
thought
the
world
would
reopen
in
june,
which
obviously
didn't
happen.
So
we've
as
of
the
date
that
I
put
this
in,
we
had
only
brought
in
a
total
of
47
000
this
year.
A
We
have
not
been
able
to
input
the
maui
invitational
revenue.
Yet
at
that
point
we
had
not
been
actually
paid
for
it
and
a
lot
of
the
reimbursements
that
I'll
talk
about
in
a
little
bit
from
the
county
had
not
come
in
yet
which
are
starting
to
come
in.
So
these
numbers
are
going
to
look
a
little
bit
better
by
the
time
we
get
to
the
end,
but
they're
still.
A
Frankly,
so
so
far
we're
down
on
budget
about
2.5
million
as
far
as
federal
revenue,
our
expenses
we're
also
coming
in
much
lower.
Obviously,
because
a
lot
of
our
expenses
relate
to
events
and
not
having
events,
we
don't
have
as
many,
but
we
do
still
have
payroll
utilities
and
general
upkeep
in
the
facility
and
we've
been
keeping
our
crews
busy.
So
you
know
we
don't
want
them
just
sitting
around
doing
nothing,
so
they're,
painting
and
they're
doing
repair
work.
A
A
Recently,
the
week
after
christmas,
the
legislature,
the
federal
legislature,
passed
a
big
coveted
relief
bill.
As
you
all
know,
it
included
what
has
now
been
called
the
shuttered
venue
operators
grants,
and
so
we
are
applying
for
those
the
application
window
has
not
opened
yet
so
we're
still
waiting
for
that
application
to
open
so
that
we
can
apply,
but
per
all
of
the
levels
of
faqs
that
have
come
out
from
them.
We
look
to
be
eligible
for
about
1.1
million
dollars
in
grant
funding.
A
We
don't
know
if
that'll
come
in
this
fiscal
year
or
if
it'll
show
up
next
fiscal
year
or
if
it
won't
show
up
at
all,
because
until
that
final
application
comes
through,
we
don't
know
if
something
may
come
up
that
may
make
us
ineligible,
but
all
signs
point
to
full
eligibility
for
us
which
would
be
equal
to
45
of
the
missing
gross
revenue
year
to
year,
comparatively
for.
H
A
Of
the
missing
revenue
is
about
1.1
million
and
we're
expecting
another.
That
was
for
three
quarters
of
the
year.
So
it
goes
from
april
1st
through
december
31
of
2020,
compared
to
the
same
time
period.
2019
all
of
the
faqs
indicate
that
there
will
be
another
period
of
grant
applications
for
first
quarter,
2021
compared
to
first
quarter
2020,
so
we
should
be
eligible
for
some
additional
funding
that
comes
through
there.
It'll
be
first
come
first
serve
granting
first
14
day.
A
A
So
hopefully,
our
1.1
million
will
be
quickly
processed,
which
brings
our
total
potential
bottom
line
to
negative
472
000,
and
so
we're
going
to
have
to
dip
into
our
rainy
day
fund,
which
we
know
is
the
appropriated
fund
balance
for
that
and
as
of
the
start
of
last
fiscal
year,
we
exceed
the
minimum
so
that
the
city
has
a
minimum
percentage
that
we
need
to
keep
in
our
rainy
day
fund
as
a
policy,
and
that
target
is
16
of
annual
operating,
and
so
we
exceed
that
minimum
by
775
000.
A
So
assuming
we
get,
this
grant
we'll
cover
the
rest
out
of
our
775,
which
will
leave
about
three
hundred
thousand
dollars
of
appropriated
fund
balance
aka
rainy
day
fund
available
for
the
future.
If
kovid
continues
affecting
us
into
the
next
fiscal
year
or
we've
historically
used
that
money
to
help
with
other
capital
projects
in
the
building.
If
we
have
hvac
issues
or
this
side
of
the
other
thing
come
up
and
we
need
additional
capital
dollars,
we
can
go
down
to
that
16
figure
by
pulling
some
money
out
of
our
appropriated
fund
balance.
A
So
all
told
obviously
not
good.
But
I
don't
think
anybody
expected
a
banner
year,
at
least
I
hope
not
and
not
as
bad
as
it
could
be,
especially
assuming
that
we
receive
the
shuttered
venue.
Operators
grant
that'll,
that's
going
to
be
huge
for
us
and
if
we
don't,
then
we're
in
a
completely
different
ballgame
any
questions.
I
know
that's
really
quick
and
brief,
but
anybody
have
any
questions
about
budget
related
items.
B
No
chris
thanks
for
that.
I
you
know
it's
interesting.
It's
I
haven't
seen
these
numbers
till
now,
so
it's
I've
been
curious
all
along
about
what
we're
you
know
where
we
would
be
at.
I
guess
you
know
for
some
of
our
newer
folks.
I
talk
traditionally
about
and
just
as
brief
as
you
can,
but
about
the
rainy
day
fund
like
why
it's
there
how
we've
actually
added
to
it
over
the
last
few
years.
B
I
want
everyone
to
think
that,
like
if
there's
ever
been
a
rainy
day,
it's
been
this
past
year,
for
you
know,
music
arts.
You
know
entertainment
center
venue,
so
I
I
guess
talk
about
traditionally
what
that's
been
for
and
how
the
last
three
or
four
years
I
know
for
sure,
we've
added
to
it
right
because
we
quote
unquote,
beat
the
projections
or
the
expected
withdrawal
from
the
city
get
some
frame
of
reference
for
that.
A
Yeah,
so
how
we
build
the
rainy
day
fund
whenever
sam
started
back
in,
I
guess
it
would
have
been
2009
with
the
venue.
Our
rainy
day
fund
was
the
the
minimum
16,
and
so
that's
based
on
our
total
budget.
So
if
total
budget
is
2
million,
it's
16
of
that,
if
it's
5
million
it's
16
of
that
since
2010,
our
annual
budget's
grown
roughly
from
around
2
million
to
about
4.8,
so
our
minimum
is
16
of
roughly
4.8
million
each
year.
There
is
a
general
fund
support
line
item
for
round
numbers.
A
Let's
just
call
it
a
million
dollars,
and
so
that's
like
our
budgeted
funding
for
the
building.
If
revenues
exceed
expenses-
and
we
only
need
500
000
of
that,
the
remaining
500
000
goes
into
that
rainy
day
fund
to
be
used
for
a
bad
year
or
for
future
capital
improvements,
and
so
every
year
for
the
last
five
years,
we've
added
to
the
rainy
day
fund.
A
A
I
mean
just
to
give
an
idea,
so
this
calendar
year
we
do
all
of
our
tda
reporting
for
the
grants
that
we
received
from
the
tourism
development
authority
based
on
hotel
room
nights,
and
we
got
to
78
of
our
targeted
room
nights
just
in
january
february
and
march
for
our
events
so
like
we
were
on
track
for
a
really
great
year-
and
you
know
just
unfortunately,
cohen
comes
in
but
fy20,
for
example,
ended
where
we
still
managed
to
beat
budget
and
add
money
into
the
rainy
day
fund.
A
Even
though
we
got
shut
down
on
march
13th,
so
we've
been
tracking.
Well.
If
the
world
reopens
this
fall,
like
everyone
in
the
entertainment
industry
thinks
it's
going
to
after
labor
day,
we
should
have
another
really
strong
year
that
we'll
get
into
it
a
little
bit
with
events,
but
we
have,
I
think
it
was
like
28
concerts.
I
counted
that
are
confirmed,
ready
to
go,
but
no
one
wants
to
announce
anything
right
now.
So
you
know
everybody's
waiting,
waiting.
E
A
So
next
up
was
a
request
from
greg
duff
who,
I
know
isn't
here,
but
he
wanted
to
talk
about
how
the
code,
the
19
shutdown
affected,
naming
rights
right
so
I'll,
just
kind
of
briefly
go
over
this
matthew.
If
you
want
to
chime
in
as
well
you're
welcome
too,
but
so
far
in
our
conversations
with
hair,
as
cherokee
they've
been
pretty
happy
with
how
we've
navigated
the
pandemic,
we
did.
A
We
did
a
lot
really
early
to
try
to
help
keep
that
name
out
there
as
much
as
possible,
because
if
you,
when
you
think
back
january
1
was
day
one
of
the
first
five
years
of
the
10-year
contract,
and
so
they
got
two
months
and
a
week
of
actual
naming
rights.
Exposure
before
the
world
shut
down
for
events
for
everything
right.
So
we
quickly
pivoted
matthew
did
a
lot
of
social
media
presence.
We
worked
with
amp,
like
you
mentioned,
to
do
some
csa
boxes
and
found
every
single
way
possible.
A
In
addition,
we
signed
up
with
buncombe
county
working
in
their
emergency
operations
center,
which
is
what
created
the
emergency
homeless,
shelter
that
we
housed
in
april
of
may,
which
helped
launch
the
kova
19
hotline,
the
ready
team
that
we
met,
that
we
we
stood
up
and
then
we
manned
from
roughly
april
1st
until
late
fall,
at
which
point
we
started
transitioning
it
over
to
the
county,
and
we
also
assisted
with
testing,
which
we
were
able
to
do
some
social
media.
A
On
the
maui
invitational
made
some
big
pushes
press
wise
for
heras,
but
all
told
they
they
at
one
point
did
tell
us
that
they
went
back
and
renegotiated
all
of
their
sponsorship
contracts.
That
they've
got
with
mary's
entities
except
ours,
because
we
were
doing
a
great
job,
pushing
it
out
there
and
the
maui.
I
think,
really
put
it
over
the
top
12
games
on
national
television,
including
chapel
hill
and
texas
and
indiana,
there's
just
some
really
key
markets
and
the
right
demographic
for
them.
A
So
I
think
they're
really
happy
with
our
name
on
the
court
and
the
extra
sponsorship
they
got
out
of
having
those
events.
I
don't
know
matthew
if
you
have
anything
you
want
to
add
on
to
that.
C
No,
I
I
think
you
know
granted.
No
one's
really
saw
this
coming,
maybe
to
this
extent,
but
you
know,
I
think,
the
ability
that
we
had
to
seamlessly
adapt
to
different
circumstances
from
an
internal
and
external
perception
of
the
venue
and
its
operations
are
really
tantamount
to
what
that's
happening
to
that.
Some
of
the
things
that
I
think
you
know
chris.
On
top
of
what
chris
mentioned
already
was,
you
know
we
did
host
early
voting
here
in
buncombe
county.
C
You
know
we
worked
with
a
couple
different
organizations
in
december
to
host
a
coat
drive
for
aveline
charities,
which
coincided
with
like
a
a
moving
company's
pod
that
they
created
to
host
santa.
So
we
actually
did
a
socially
distance
meet
and
greet
santa
photo
opportunity
as
well.
For
that
you
know,
I
mentioned
earlier
the
the
food
events
that
we
were
able
to
do
the
csa
boxes.
Things
like
that.
C
But
you
know
it
still
doesn't
change
the
our
desire
and
our
ability
to
create
high
impact
community
events
in
our
area
throughout
the
year,
and
I
think
that
that's
something
that
sometimes
gets
lost
on
the
shuffle
of
it
all
when
people
are
talking
about
maui
and
lumineers
and
sturgill
simpson,
you
know
that
we
still
do
these
voting
opportunities,
we're
still
working
with
school
school
events,
gymnastics
events-
and
you
know
as
well
as
buncombe
county
graduation.
So
you
know
we.
C
We
look
forward
to
being
back
in
full
swing,
but
you
know
I
think,
we've
done
a
great
job
being
able
to
navigate
these
waters.
In
the
meantime,.
J
I
also
think
that
they
are,
you
know,
seeing
the
value
of
the
partnership
in
western
north
carolina
and
you
know
being
part
of
the
recovery
efforts
and
being
a
a
really
hub
for
the
community
in
western
north
carolina.
So
I
think
they
really
saw
that,
and
I
just
commend
chris
and
matthew
and
matt,
and
the
entire
staff
for
just
being
creative
and
always
looking
to
be
a
good
community
partner
and
helping
to
solve
problems
in
the
community
with
the
building.
B
Yeah
and
thankful
that
the
city
has
this
resource,
as
well
as
staff
like
chris
and
matthew
and
others
to
make
those
things
happen
so
proud
to
be
part
of
the
juror
chris
you're
ready
to
move
on
to
events.
A
Yep,
so
that's
will
be
pretty
quick
and
simple,
since
you
know,
can't
really
have
many,
so
we
have
the
socon
coming
up
this
weekend
there
will
be
544
fans
that
are
max
capacity
available
for
all
sessions,
we're
doing
a
lot
of
the
kovid
related
protocols
to
make
that
happen:
mobile
tickets,
mobile
ordering
temperature
screens
and
the
like
at
the
front
door,
we're
testing
players,
staff,
etc,
but
to
move
past
the
socon
we're
hosting
a
lot
of
city
of
asheville
internal
events.
Those
are
coming
back
this
month
as
well.
A
This
spring
we've
got
three
different
camp
dance
competitions
on
the
list
that
will
happen
depending
on
how
exactly
the
governor's
orders
are
at
those
given
times,
that'll
affect
whether
there's
attendance
or
not,
or
how
that's
going
to
lay
out.
We
also
have
two
cheerleading
competitions.
Again
same
thing.
A
Capacities
will
be
related
to
whatever
current
restrictions
are
we'll
be
hosting
at
least
two
more
blood
drives
that
I
think
we've
hosted
four
or
five
of
since
march
last
year,
then,
when
we
get
into
july,
we've
got
a
clogging
event,
that'll
be
similar
to
the
dance
and
cheers
the
craft.
Fair
of
the
southern
highlands
is
still
on
the
calendar
for
july.
A
D
A
We've
got
plenty
of
time
on
that
as
far
as
the
future
of
hopefully
the
return
postcode,
then
once
we
get
past
labor
day,
we're
really
kind
of
gung-ho
on
events.
As
far
as
the
calendar
looks
we're
three
four
five,
some
days
six
holes
deep
on
events
specifically
concerts
throughout
the
fall.
We
have
target
dates
for
I
think
it's
28
different
concerts.
If
you
count
the
eight
weekends
of
the
symphony,
20
non-symphony
concert
dates
that
have
target
dates.
A
Plus
we
already
have
toby
mack,
jeff
dunham,
david
brothers,
primus
and
bella
fleck,
all
on
sale
already,
so
we're
shaping
up
for
a
pretty
banner
year,
assuming
we
can
have,
we
need
85
capacity
or
more
to
make
these
concerts
make
sense
and
in
some
cases,
jeff
dunham,
for
example,
and
toby
mack.
Those
are
events
that
are
already
sold
out
and
are
you
know
over
a
year
dated
at
this
point
that
we've
just
been
pushing
forward
that
really
we
need
100
capacity
to
make
those
work
or
we
have
to.
D
A
Some
tickets
and
tell
people
they
can't
come
and
deciding
who
can't
come
is
not
a
decision
that
we
want
to
make
so
we'll
have
to
continue
pushing
those
type
of
events
down
the
road
until
we
have
100
capacity,
but
all
all
told
if
we
have
a
85
to
100
capacity
by
labor
day,
we
should
have
a
really
great
year
with
some
of
the
bands
that
are
lined
up
that
have
been
historical,
sell
out
too
close
to
and
high
food
beverage
events.
L
A
At
this
point,
they're
all
brand
new
events,
the
toby
mac,
jeff,
dunham,
bella,
fleck
and
primus
are
all
ones
that
have
been
pushed
down
the
road
throughout
the
coving
process.
Avitz
is
brand
new.
It
actually
goes
on
sale
this
week
on
friday,
just
announced
that
last
week
and
all
these
other
ones
are
brand
new
events
that
weren't
ones
that
we
had
to
postpone.
A
So
it's
the
problem
is
you've
got
all
these
bands
that
we're
trying
to
route
tours
that
then
routed
last
fall
and
then
the
spring
and
now
the
summer
and
the
fall,
and
so
we've
got
like
three
quarters
worth
of
tours
that
are
all
trying
to
find
venues
and
routing
and
with
the
restrictions
being
different
in
every
state,
it's
really
challenging
for
the
promoters
to
route.
These
types
of
events
around
the
country.
A
All
right,
I
will
shift
to
the
annual
report.
Then
hopefully,
everyone
got
a
chance
to
read
through
this
prior
to,
but
we
do
need
to.
This
is
one
that
we'll
have
to
take
a
vote
on
and
we
can
do
some
live
updates
if
necessary.
On
this,
we
need
to
finish
this
report
in
order
to
send
it
to
council
later,
I
think
next
week,
and
we
had
hoped
to
talk
about
this
at
the
february
meeting,
which
obviously
ended
up
getting
canceled,
and
I
apologize
for
that.
A
So
we'll
have
to
do
edits
today
in
it,
but
I'll
just
kind
of
read
the
bullet
points
to
see
if
there's
any
highlights,
but
so,
as
a
summary,
oh,
I
guess
I
should
mention.
Since
we
have
so
many
new
board
members,
I
apologize
each
year.
We
do
an
annual
report
that
goes
up
to
city
council
that
they
read
from
all
of
the
various
boards.
A
D
A
All
right,
let's
do
that,
so
the
highlights
I'll
just
read
the
summary.
There
is
the
calendar
year.
2020
was
a
really
hard
year
for
us,
just
like
the
rest
of
america,
the
first
two
and
a
half
months
were
starting
well,
we
had
71
usage
dates
in
the
first
72
calendar
days
prior
to
the
shutdown.
A
A
The
mission
statement
of
the
asheville
civic
center
commission
and
so
our
key
accomplishments
that
I
listed
initially
that
we
launched
the
lumineers
world
tour
in
2020
after
12
days
of
rehearsal
in
the
building
prior
to
the
covid
cancellations.
This
tour
was
scheduled
to
play
in
44
countries
in
38
states
that
we
began
the
calendar
year
with
71
usage
dates
in
the
first
72
calendar
days,
and
then
we
get
into
some
of
our
response
for
the
covet
pandemic.
A
We
acted
as
the
regional
point
of
distribution
for
all
supplies
for
the
buncombe
county
eoc,
then,
with
assistance
from
homeward
bound.
We
opened
up
that
temporary
homeless
shelter,
a
lot
of
people
don't
know,
but
we
got
asked
about
that
on
on
a
monday
at
10
a.m
and
we
opened
it
on
wednesday
morning
at
8..
That
was
like
an.
A
Quick
turn
type
of
situation
there
around
that
same
time
we
redeployed
16
staff
to
create,
build
and
launch
the
covet
19
hot
team
hotline
known
as
the
ready
team.
So
we
operated
that
exclusively
as
hcca
staff
and
I
think
two
other
city
staff
until
august,
at
which
point
we
started,
bringing
in
some
county
staff
and
training
them
up
to
work
on
that
transition.
A
Right
now
we
still
have
six
staff
that
are
assisting
in
that
process.
The
ready
team
turned
into
the
testing,
scheduling
and
administration
team
and
is
now
testing
and
vaccination
distribution.
So
we've
got
some
folks
that
are
still
assisting
with
the
vaccination
distribution.
A
A
A
A
nice
long
point
there
about
the
maui
invitational
and
putting
that
event
on
here,
which
was
amazing,
12
games
in
the
bubble
broadcast
live
on
national
television
and
we
created
a
little
year
in
review,
photo
link.
So
if
you
want
to
take
a
look
at
it,
you
can
matthew
put
a
great
number
of
various
pictures
from
all
the
different
things
that
were
going
on
in
there
just
as
a
visual.
A
So
moving
on
to
recommendations,
this
one's
the
first
point
is
rolled
over
from
last
year,
so
we
had
hoped
to
use
some
capital
funding
to
move
forward
with
expanding
the
composting
program
in
the
facility
which
right
now
is
in
the
thomas,
wolf
and
the
banquet
hall.
Only
so
we
don't
have
the
three
stream
containers
necessary
to
bring
it
all
the
way
into
the
arena
and
the
exhibit
hall
and
the
other
meeting
spaces.
A
The
goal
was
to
use
house
or
hcca
capital
improvement
funding,
which
we
ended
up
having
to
shift
into
the
hvac
project.
That
was
ongoing,
so
we
don't
have
any
dedicated
money
funding
for
that.
So
that
was
a
target
goal
and
then,
additionally,
some
investment
and
upgrades
into
the
thomas
wolfe
auditorium.
A
A
A
And
we
have
lots
of
studies.
And
I
can
send
a
link
out
to
this
group
of
all
the
various
past
studies
that
we've
put
into
one
folder,
so
people
can
get
caught
up
and
then
upcoming
goals
that
we
put
in
was
to
say
safely
and
successfully
reopen
when
restrictions
allow,
which
it
looks
like
we're,
going
to
get
to
start
doing
that
this
weekend
and
create
a
welcoming
and
transparent
environment
at
the
venue
to
install
confidence
in
attending
guests
and
to
re-establish
pre-pandemic
financial
status.
A
I
can
say
my
biggest
concern
is
people
feeling
comfortable
coming
back
to
events,
because
I
mean
whenever
we
got
the
15
number
last
week.
I
think
the
first
conversation
deaf
and
I
had
about
the
socom
was
me
saying
I
don't
think
I
feel
comfortable
with
1080
people
in
here
right
now
and
like
where
do
we
find
that
right
number
to
start
working
up
to?
A
F
B
So
we
have
chrissa
and
nicole's
name
is
lee
yep.
B
B
Goes
with
that,
first
of
all,
thank
you
guys
for
putting
this
together.
Of
course,
we
did
this
as
a
group.
Under
the
circumstances,
I
think
we
kind
of
had
to
do
what
we
had
to
do.
If
no
one
has
any
edits
or
comments.
I
will
take
a
motion
to
recommend
the
annual
report
and
city.
E
C
B
Donna
bailey
hi,
let's
go
in
order,
I
can
only
see
so
many
of
you,
I'm
sorry.
Let's
see
shay
brown.
B
Chris
chris,
do
you
go
by
what
blasting
you
go
by
syncovich.
B
B
With
that
we
typically
move
on
to
old
business.
We
have
so
many
new
faces.
I
don't
know
if
there's
anything
old,
that
we
need
to
pick
up,
but
if
someone
has
something
lingering
from
meetings
past
or
things
you've
thought
about
over
the
last
few
months
that
you
want
to
discuss
now's
a
good
time
to
do
that,
I'll,
open
up
the
floor
to
anyone
that
has
something.
B
B
A
Yeah,
that's
kind
of
the
the
big
question
mark
is:
if
we
stay
a
virtual,
we
want
to
stay
in
the
nine
to
five
range,
just
because
of
the
remote
tech
support
in
case.
Something
does
go
wrong
if
we
go
back
in
person
which
we
could
also
discuss,
because
technically
now,
with
the
new
lifting
of
restrictions,
this
meeting
could
occur
in
the
banquet
hall
in
a
socially
distant
setup
if
the
group
felt
comfortable.
C
Hey
chris,
with
going
back
to
in-person
meetings,
did
we
ever
finalize
and
answer,
and
I
think
janice
was
looking
into
it
last,
regarding
what
like
the
minimum
requirements
for
virtual
participation
are
for
these
meetings.
A
No,
but
we're
working
with
cape
on
the
possibility
of
doing
hybrid
meetings
moving
forward
for
some
other
boards
and
commissions,
so
we
could
be
one
of
those
if
necessary.
So
it
is
an
option
to
do
hybrid
if
more
than
half
of
the
board
wants
to
be
in
person,
but
the
remaining
does
not.
The
key
is
more
than
half
need
to
be
need
to
desire
to
be
in
person
in
order
to
go
to
a
hybrid
model.
H
Well,
unless
you've
got
some
major
reason
to
do
it
in
person,
why
don't
you
continue?
For
you
know
the
next
quarter
until
then
just
to
be
put
in
another
quarter
of
safety
so
to
speak,
and
by
that
time
many
of
us
will
have,
including
even
those
younger
people
out
there
will
have
had
the
chance
to
get
their
shots
too.
B
B
I'm
hopeful,
like
donna,
says
that
everyone's
going
to
have
their
vaccine,
but
by
then
anyway,
but
if
we
plan
for
that
it
just
makes
it
so
much
easier
on
staff
to
know
what
to
do
in
regards
to
these,
and
then
we
can
reevaluate,
maybe
at
the
june
meeting
and
see
if
we
want
to
start
going
back
in
person.
We
we
typically
take
july
off
in
years
past
because
it
usually
falls
out
fourth
july,
but
that
would
give
us
some
time
so
the
first
in-person
meeting
will
be
in
august.
B
A
We
need
to
vote
because
the
official
time
of
our
meetings
is
8
a.m
on
the
first
tuesday.
So
if
we're
gonna
move
it,
we
need
an
official
vote,
so
we
can
officially
make
that
change
and
if
we
want
to
just
make
the
change
through
june,
that's
easier
than
doing
it.
Every
single
meeting.
H
That,
yes,
I
motion
that
we
have
our
virtual
meetings
from
now
until
the
end
of
the
fiscal
year
get
fiscal
year
for
you.
F
B
Okay,
with
that
I'll
go
down
the
line
again,
chrisenkovic.
I

D
A
100Th
anniversary
of
the
socon
championships
mask
wearing
required
social
distancing
they'll,
be
attempt
screening
and
whatnot
at
the
front
doors.
All
that
stuff
is
in
play.
So
if
you
feel
comfortable
with
it
and
you
want
to
come
down,
feel
free,
I
it
will
probably
only
last
15
or
so
minutes.
I
don't
think
it'll
take
a
while,
but
if
you
want
to
come
down,
please
do.
B
Thank
you
chris.
I
I'm
going
to
be
there.
Our
next
meeting
is
scheduled
for
april
the
6th,
so
I
hope
to
see
everyone's
faces
then,
if
not
before,
then
thank
you
to
all
of
our
new
members
for
volunteering.
Thank
you
for
bearing
with
us
this
meeting's
a
little
bit
longer
than
typical,
but
you
know,
since
it's
been
a
year,
we
had
some
things
we
need
to
take
care
of.
So
thank
you.
Everyone
for
your
attention,
thanks
again
to
yvonne
cook
riley
for
your
years
of
service.
B
We
really
appreciate
you
donna,
pierce
and
sam
powers,
for
on
their
retirement.
Best
luck
to
you
all
hope
to
see
you
around
community
and
please
stay
involved
as
much
as
possible.
We
definitely
need
your
expertise
here,
thanks
everyone.
Without
any
objection.
I
will
adjourn
this
meeting.
