is

actually
a
bit
of
a
bittersweet
proclamation
for
me
and
one
personal
as
well.
Nick
and
his
family
had
owned.
I
knew
cheese,
pizza
and
South
Asheville
for
over
40
years.
It
was
a
place
when,
where,
as
a
kid,
when
I
played
YMCA
soccer
that
everybody
would
gather
to
to
come
and.

pizza
an
Italian
restaurant
was
a
family-owned
and
operated
an
authentic
Italian
pizzeria
serving
South
Buncombe
in
two
locations
for
over
40
years,
and
whereas
the
iug
South,
Asheville
location
closed
on
December,
31st
2019
and
whereas
my
new
cheese
with
a
community
center
for
locals
to
gather
for
authentic
Italian,
food
and
camaraderie
and
whereas
high-end
new
cheese
was
a
staple
in
the
community
that
employed
many
TC
robbers
and
graduates
and
local
students.
And
whereas
Iannucci
contributed
greatly
to
the
fabric
of
the
Asheville
community.

I
just
wanted
to
speak
to
I.
Think
it's
item

and
say
thank
you
for
taking
care
of
this
problem
as
we're
continuing
to
see
problems
with
our
water
system
that
we're
going
to
be
flushing
the
system.
More
often,
at
the
last
council
meeting,
the
water
report
gave
us
an
update
on
the
effectiveness
of
our
alert
system
and
that's
a
good
step
forward,
and
when
that
glitch
got
worked
out,
what
was
alarming
to
me
is
looking
at
the
boiled
water
advisories
from
last
year.

We
had
166
and
that's
one
almost
every
other
day,
and
we've
heard
that
we
have
a
30-year
plan
for
the
water
system
and
we've
kind
of
heard
that
there's
only
so
much
that
we
can
do
it's
so
fragile
and
I.
Think
that
you
know
we
need
to
keep
an
eye
on
what
we
are
going
to
do
to
provide
clean
water
to
our
citizens
and
the
fact
that
manganese
has
been
found
in
the
water
system
I'm
concerned
as
to
the
the
source
of
that,
how
much
of
it
is
getting
into
the
homes.

Here
it's
been
shown
possibly
to
contribute
to
neurological
deficiencies
and
young
people
and
Parkinson's
disease
like
symptoms
can
be
exacerbated
or
caused
by
manganese.
It's
thought,
there's
a
you
know
some
science
out
there
for
that,
and
it
concerns
me
greatly
that
you
know
a
city
known
for
health
and
wellness
and
our
pristine
water,
that
this
is
going
to
be
a
huge
problem
in
the
future
and
we
need
to
understand
essential
services.
There
could
not
be
anything
more
essential
than
water.

public
hearing
item
and
a
sedative
that
is
a
public
hearing
to
consider
an
ordinance
to
approve
an
agreement
between
the
city
of
Asheville
and
the
town
of
Fletcher,
in
which
a
non-contiguous
property
will
not
be
annexed
by
the
town
of
Fletcher,
so
annexation
into
the
city
of
Asheville
can
be
considered
at
a
later
date.

mayor
members

senior
assistant
city
attorney
here
to
present
on
the
consideration
of
adoption
of
an
ordinance
to
enter
into
an
agreement
with
the
town
of
Fletcher
that
would
allow
for
annexation
of
a
non-contiguous
parcel
of
land.
The
city
has
received
your
request
to
annex
a
parcel
nine
to
point
a
curb
parcel
located
at
nine
and
Boulevard
that
is
located
in
the
county
near
the
airport.
It's
non-contiguous.
That
means
it's
not
right.
Next
to
the
city
of
Asheville's
corporate
limits.

It's
also
not
it's
just
near
Fletcher's
corporate
limits
as
well,
and
the
request
of
the
property's
already
developed
with
the
Holiday
Inn
and
Suites,
and
the
request
is
coming
from
the
property
owner.
When
you
have
a
property,
that's
non
contiguous
and
it's
closer
to
the
corporate
limits
of
one
municipality
than
it
is
to
the
city
they
want
to
annex
into.
So
in
this
case,
that
property
is
closer
to
the
town
limits
of
Fletcher.
In
order
to
be
able
to
annex
it.

If
you
choose
to
do
that,
there's
a
step
required
by
the
statutes
that
we
need
to
enter
into
an
agreement
with
the
town
of
Fletcher.
That
would
say
that
they
will
not
try
to
annex
that
property
for
a
period
of
time.
We've
already
discussed
this
with
the
town
of
Fletcher.
They
are
quite
willing
to
allow
this
and
have
already
approved
at
their
Town
Council
there,
the
ability
to
enter
into
this
annexation.
It's
called
an
annexation
agreement,
so
they
are
fine
with
it,
but
I
just
want
to
make
clear
that
the
actual
annexation
would
not
happen.

That
would
be
a
totally
separate
process.
So,
if
you
were
to
approve
this
agreement,
that's
just
a
procedural
step,
that's
necessary
to
move
on
to
the
next
step,
which
would
be
to
consider
whether
the
city
wants
to
actually
annex
this
property
and,
at
the
same
time,
if
we
were
to
annex
that,
the
property
would
need
to
have
a
zoning
designation,
put
on
it
to
come
into
the
city
and
so
planners.
Shannon
tuck
would
be
bringing
that
at
a
separate
public
hearing
at
a
separate
date,
but
trying
to
bring
both
the
zoning
and
the
annexation
together.
