Description
Our Careful Tending is a performance piece holding space for the presence of grief alongside space to bridge the dark and painful past with the present and all that is being called in to create a shared space that honors equity and promotes our collective wellbeing. Three persons in black robes hold large, paper masks with ancient peaceful faces reading poetic words of healing. Five additional persons walk alongside carrying lanterns to light the path forward. Collaborating artists Tiffany Narron, Jen Murphy, and Lydia Nichole.

the

searching
for
their

they're
out

through
I.
Look

in
the

that
my

are
untangling,
the
mass
as
I
go
a
hum
enters
my
belly
and
my

close
as
I
trust,
my
body
to
find
its
ancient
rhythm
before
body
and

were
separated
and
indoctrinated.

what
to

I
sleep
with
it
study
it
move
with
it
over
and
under
and
through
carry
it
as
my

of

My
personal
scepter
into
the

together
seamlessly
our

Our
