A
A
Back
in
the
early
70s
john
had
an
idea:
we
wanted
representation
for
the
disabled
community
miami
county,
so
we
first
then
our
first
county
executive,
which
was
chuck
worthington,
and
he
came
up
with
the
idea.
Chuckling
freeholders
liked
it
and
we
became
the
first
committee
for
the
south
atlantic
county.
So
I
had
myself
and
many
handicapped.
C
C
D
Good
afternoon,
everyone
and
thank
you
christy
for
everything
that
you
do.
She
did
a
great
job.
I
know
you
all
know
it,
but
she
is
so
dedicated.
It's
it's
incredible.
What
this
board
does
danny
asked
me
to
say
a
few
things,
and
that
he's
sorry,
he
could
not
make
it.
He
did
have
a
surgical
procedure
and
he
wasn't
able
to
make
it
today,
and
you
know
how
much
daddy
loves
being
here
between
him-
and
I
this
is
one
of
our
favorite
or
not.
D
The
favorite
event
that
we
go
to
this
event
is
actually
a
part
of
every
air
every
year
that
I'm
more,
that
I
am
more
amazed
of
the
stories
of
people
in
our
community
who
show
such
fortitude.
D
It's
tremendous!
You
know
what
we
see
each
year
out
of
our
people
that
we're
honoring.
This
disability
awareness
ceremony
is
named
in
memory
of
donald
j
sykes,
a
long-time
community
advocate
and
former
chairman
of
the
county's
disability
citizens,
advisory
board
and
former
chairman
of
the
county's
disability
citizens
advisory
board.
D
We
thank
the
sykes
family
for
all
that
they
do
throughout
our
communities
as
quoted
on
their
facebook.
Page
attitude
is
a
little
thing
that
makes
a
big
difference.
Winston
churchill
and
you'll
see
in
today's
recipients
for
many
facing
a
disability,
it's
easy
to
focus
on
what
you're
no
longer
able
to
do,
but
it
doesn't
have
to
be
that
way
for
these
individuals,
disability
didn't
stop
them
from
making
their
mark
on
the
world.
That
is
proven
to
what
you
will
see
of
bob
and
shondell.
D
C
B
Only
one
of
these
sites,
the
psych
families
at
that
table
right
outside
the
door.
There
are
there
and
part
of
them
at
this
table,
tommy
sites
who
is
with
guy's
brother
and
his
sister
are
both
here
today.
So
that's
the
site's
plan
over
there.
B
The
reason
they
let
me
stay
around
the
family
is
because
I'll
shoot,
my
mouth,
the
story
about
donald's
in
the
program.
If
you
would
like
to
read
about
him,
that
is
the
stuff
that
can
be
printed
besides.
Being
an
advocate
was
also
a
bit
of
a
lack,
and
he
was
one
of
my
best
friends
and
we
spent
a
lot
of
years.
Traveling
together,
going
all
different
places,
and
he
was
the
definition
of
a
person
who
is
handicapped
is
not
defined
by
their
handicap.
B
As
I
said,
this
organization
was
started
in
1977
when
we
approached
the
county
government
asked
them
if
they
could
put
together
an
advisory
board
so
that
we
could
give
advice
and
help
to
all
the
new
hotels
that
were
going
to
be
built
in
atlantic
city
after
the
gaming
referendum,
and
thankfully
tommy
is
an
architect
and
tommy
was
very
helpful
in
having
us
give
advice
to
different
developers
who
were
developing
things.
B
B
The
one
accomplishment
that
is
not
mentioned
in
donnie's
little
bio
in
there
is
that
for
several
years
we
were
on
the
white
house
conference
for
the
employment
of
the
handicapped,
so
that
meant
we
were
driving
back
and
forth
to
washington
dc
many
years,
and
we
had
a
lot
of
good
times
there.
We
had
a
couple.
I
know
I'm
not
going
to
tell
them
one
story.
F
B
Tell
you,
but
now
for
all
the
handicapped,
accessibility
features
that
you
now
see
that
committee.
That
group
this
organization
was
one
of
the
very
first
parts
in
the
country
to
say
we
need
to
address
these
issues
of
handicapped
accessibility
and
from
all
of
those
trips
back
and
forth.
Besides
not
getting
arrested,
which
sometimes
you
can
go
on
the
border
without
getting
president
the
guy
who
used
to
give
us
our
directions
there.
This
is
not
an
exaggeration,
the
guy
who
gave
us
the
direction
there
was
blind.
B
He
became
a
superior
court
judge
in
this
area,
joe
kane,
but
he
knew
the
way
to
washington
and
he
was
our
navigator
in
the
in
donny's
van
when
we
went
back
and
forth,
but
that
program
started
right
here
in
atlanta
county
and
we're
very
proud
of
what
we
did
at
the
white
house
conference
for
all
those
years
to
win
yeah.
We
think
we
really
had
a
good
effect
thank
phil
from
tommy's
guidance
as
an
architect.
B
The
last
thing
I
wanted
to
say
was
that
I'm
very
happy
that
bob
furlow-
I
know
bob
personally-
I've
known
him
all
these
years
and
I
know
what
he
does
for
veterans.
I
know
he
and
I
talk
all
the
time.
The
donnie
fund,
which
is
the
fund
we
named
after
donald,
actually
passed
to
give
money
to
local
people
and
give
equipment
to
local
people
who
might
need
it.
B
That
has
a
lot
of
that
work
has
gone
through
bob
throat.
He
is
he
calls
me
all
the
time
says
I
need
this
or
I
have
this.
I
want
to
donate
this
to
the
donnie
funk,
so
I'm
really
glad
he
did
all
that
stuff
we
have
given
away
since
we
started
27
years
ago.
We
have
given
away
over
a
million
dollars
to
local
families
who
have
kids
with
cancer
or
other
catastrophic
situations,
and
that
all
happens
with
a
lot
of
people
in
this
room
so
enjoy
this.
B
Luckily,
none
of
us
have
been
arrested.
Yet,
although
there's
joe's
the
only
one
who
probably
hasn't
done
anything
to
get
arrested,
I
can't
say
that
about
frodo.
That's
that's
good
for
yourself.
We
were.
We
were
together
back
in
the
days
with
the
rally
out
of
the
swimsuit
and
to
the
mayor
of
summer's
point
who
nominated
bob.
B
I
apologize
because
your
name
and
my
name
were
very
close
and
I'm
sure
you've
caught
heat
for
things
like
that,
so
I
apologize
for
that
you're
going
to
catch
for
what
I
did
so
we
joined
this
if
donald's,
watching
which
I
hope
he
is.
I
hope
he
blesses
all
your
food
today.
Congratulations
to
the
two
winners
of
the
donnie
award.
It's
a
great
award.
C
If
I
could
please
ask
chairman,
kern
and
christine
wilson,
the
director
of
the
division
of
intergenerational
services,
to
come
forward
to
assist
us
in
presenting
the
awards,
and
we
will
start
off
with
andrea
mcdonough
of
the
arc
who
nominated
mr
shondell
greenwood.
So
if
you
could
both
come
forward,
please.
G
Hi
everyone
good
afternoon,
we
are
so
happy
to
be
here.
My
name
is
andrew
mcdonough,
I'm
the
assistant
operations,
director
of
the
park
and
county
and
I've
known
shondell
for
over
four
years.
Charles
has
recently
achieved
some
personal
growth,
which
has
allowed
him
to
explore
opportunities.
He
has
never
had
the
chance
to
realize
until
now,
chandelle
has
recently
experienced
a
renewed
awareness
and
focus
on
his
health
and
wellness,
taking
positive
steps
to
take
ownership
of
his
nutrition
and
become
more
physically
active.
G
He
provides
constructive
feedback
during
meetings
held
to
educate
local
police
departments
to
help
improve
their
understanding
when
they
encounter
and
work
with.
Individuals
with
disabilities
in
the
community,
chandelle
recently
participated
in
a
webinar
with
the
atlanta
county
prosecutor's
office,
giving
important
feedback
to
attendees,
whose
role
is
to
establish
and
maintain
a
special
needs
registry
for
law
enforcement
and
first
responders
to
consult
when
dealing
with
idd
population.
G
C
C
And
does
an
outstanding
job,
but
he's
well
deserving
of
that
award.
So
congratulations
again!
Next
up,
if
we
could
please
have
mayor
john
glasser,
who
nominated
mr
robert
frollo
for
the
award.
If
you
could
both
please
come
up
front.
H
There's
so
much
to
say
so,
I'm
just
going
to
read
the
nomination
letter
that
I
sent
in
and
the
dear
christine
I'm
waiting
to
nominate
robert
bob
furlow
for
the
donald
j
psychs
award.
Mr
frollo,
as
you
may
be
aware,
is
the
atlanta
county
veterans
services
director,
where
he
is
involved
in
helping
the
veterans
and
the
armed
forces
to
wear
their
problems
they
face
with
dealing
with
the
department
of
veterans
affairs
in
every
way
possible.
H
H
H
H
H
Probably
about
three
or
four
times
a
week,
we
do
a
little
business
today,
trying
to
put
our
bathroom
stage
together
with
the
two
other
characters
at
our
table:
commander:
fred
vineyard
from
the
state
commander
of
the
ambassador
and
the
sub
marine
commander
communist,
our
veterans,
community
summer's
point.
A
H
Very
active
as
a
lot
of
people
know
our
former
council
president
now
chair
of
the
county
commissioners
has
been
there
many
times
for
us
and
those
what
we
try
to
accomplish,
and
it's
all
because
bob
when
I
first
became
the
mayor,
it
was
his
voice.
It
was
carrying
over
memorial
day
service
that
got
me
involved
with
war
with
the
community.
So
with
that,
there's
so
much
more
to
say,
but
just
thank
you
bob
for
everything
you've
done.
H
Just
without
saying
I
mean
there
is
a
lot
going
on
at
some
point.
We
have
our
veteran's
day
coming
up.
We
will
have
pearl
harbor
day
coming
up
from
summer's
point.
Of
course
you
know
so
much
and
we're
looking
forward
to
the
future.
So
thanks.
Yes,
sir.
I
So
real
quick,
first
of
all,
congratulations
again,
chante
great
achievement.
We're
really
proud
of
you!
Second
of
all,
as
as
the
liaison
for
the
investment
advisory
board
and
county
wide,
you
know
we
always
have
to
keep
an
eye
on
bob.
We
can
stand
up
here
and
talk
about
him
to
his
face
all
day.
All
day,
long
out.
We
don't
talk
behind
that,
though
mom's
father's
around
all
the
time
bob
is
in,
but
I
can
tell
you
jake,
you
know,
as
sheriff
I
had
to
give
him
two
pba
cards
every
year.
I
I
Congratulations,
we're
honored
to
to
do
a
certificate
from
the
board
of
commissioners
and
maury
has
one
from
county
executive
and
it's
an
honor
to
to
even
be
in
the
same
room
with
you
like.
I
said
the
acknowledgements
that
you
have
are
tremendous
and
we
really
appreciate
appreciate
that.
C
G
J
J
J
J
Challenges
are
still
there
I'll
tell
you
something
today,
you'll
understand
why
there's
so
much
aggravation
going
on
with
benefits,
but
nonetheless
I
also
have
to
finish
a
story
about
well
learning
about
that.
J
I've
known
the
county
executive
says
I
can't
tell
you
how
far
to
the
point
where
yet
the
point
where
they
were
picking
up,
they
knew
this
little
jewish
voice
in
the
inlet
that
they
called
fraud.
J
J
My
handicap
is
physical,
not
upstairs
so
fraud
was
just
a
nickname,
my
bad
since
I
was
probably
sixth
grade.
I
went
to
massachusetts
avenue
school.
That
is
stuck
in
all
this
time
and
other
than
what
you
accepted
with
john
blasey.
J
It's
all
been
productive,
it
didn't
say,
but
a
lot
of
good
stories
denny
for
we
go
back
say
this
with
jerry
betty
and
I
went
to
elena
jerry
with
holy
spirits
and
we've
known
each
other
for
years
competitively
friendly
whatever
and
it's
been
fun
a
lot
of
good
stories,
but
but
I
can
honestly
say
with
the
help
that
I
get
from
this
group
and
atlantic
county
in
new
jersey
as
a
whole.
J
J
J
J
So
it
may
be
just
convenient
to
slow
down.
That's
my
argument.
I
hope
that
god
I'm
wrong.
I
don't
think
I
am
I'm
going
to
keep
fighting
it.
Did
we
try
and
resolve
this?
In
any
case,
any
of
you
have
veterans,
no
veterans
that
need
assistance,
I'll
fight
for
them.
As
long
as
I
can
every
single
day.
I
have
tremendous
support
right
here
in
this
room
and
if
I
can
I'll
introduce
again
freddie
media
who.
J
We
have
outlets
every
day,
veterans
that
have
problems
every
single
day,
we'll
make
the
effort
to
clear
up
his
problems.
If
I,
if
I
can
it's
it's,
it's
frustrating,
but
it's
also
very
rewarding
to
be
in
my
job
just
to
have
the
pleasure
and
the
opportunity
to
help
their
families
and
spouses,
and
I
enjoy
that
if
it's
like,
I
said
I
look
forward
to
go
to
work
every
day.
It's
always
going
to
be
a
challenge,
and
one
way
or
another
will
get
a
result.
E
C
Hurdles
that
we
all
face
in
life,
which
is
compounded
without
a
disability,
so
you
know
having
empathy,
understanding
and
helping
people
get
through.
Those
things
is
a
vital
part
of
bob's
job
as
his
mind.
So
thank
you.
While
the
lunch
is
being
served,
I
just
wanted
to
say
a
few
words.
I
don't
know
kind
of
a
conclusion.
Just
so
everyone
can
eat,
have
their
dessert
and
carry
on
they
will,
through
the
office
of
disability
services,
in
conjunction
with
the
disability
advisory
board.
C
That's
here
today
we
just
wrapped
a
very
large
project
that
I
wanted
to
share
with
everybody.
Today,
it's
been
several
years
in
the
making
and
as
part
of
the
ada
coordinator
with
the
county,
which
is
the
american
disabilities
act
coordinator.
So
for
title
two
of
the
ada,
which
is
state
and
local
government,
we
just
wrapped
a
very
big
policy
to
bring
our
county
up
to
date
with
some
of
the
mandates
under
the
ada
and
ironically,
it's
very
odd.
It
was
just
loaded
to
our
website
this
morning,
so
I
just
received
it
and
loaded.
C
C
C
We
have
centerpieces
and
the
sewing
project
that
was
crafted
in
collaboration
with
the
atlantic
county
special
services,
school
district,
and
it's
just
such
a
wonderful
thing
that
they
assist
us
with,
and
all
the
students,
freshmen,
sophomores
and
special
services
created
these
with
the
help
of
the
teachers
out
there
for
us.
So
if
you
shone
down
bob,
I
would
like
you
to
please
take
these
sewed
centerpiece
and
a
floral
arrangement
and
the
other
tables
that's
for
when
you
depart
today
and
at
the
other
tables
people's,
I
guess
birthdays
closest
today.
C
E
Like
I
would
stick
with.
