A
All
right,
good
morning,
everyone
I'm
Michael
Fedora,
director
of
public
safety
for
the
County.
You
know
when
the
County
Executive
Dennis
Levinson
appointed
me
to
this
position.
One
of
the
things
that
he
wanted
me
to
accomplish
was
moving
the
County
Police
Academy
to
the
campus
here
at
Atlantic,
County
Community
College.
So
with
the
help
and
assistance
of
the
County
Administrator
Darrell
Jerry
Durazo
and
general
counsel,
Jim
Ferguson,
the
police
academy,
moved
into
building
T
I'd,
also
like
to
thank
dr.
Barbara
Bob,
a
president
here
at
Atlantic.
A
B
B
You
know
it's
Police
Training
and
these
are
police
officers
in
my
opinion,
and
it's
the
toughest
job
that
you
can
have
in
Corrections
now
when
I
explain
that
to
people
and
even
people
that
should
know
better,
the
difficulties
that
occur
within
a
lock-up
and
someone
that
should
have
known
better
is
turn
to
miss.
Well,
aren't
they
armed,
so
it
just
shows
to
how
little
people
really
understand
about
the
work
that
these
men
and
women
do
day
in
and
day
no
they're,
not
armed
and
they're,
surrounded
in
many
cases
by
some
very,
very
bad
individuals.
B
Many
of
these
individuals
have
problems
that
corrections
officers
can't
solve.
There
were
closed
mental
institutions
and
now
we'll
where
these
people
go.
No,
unfortunately,
they
go
to
our
lock
ups
and
that's
something
we
have
to
keep
in
mind
and
for
these
people
behind
me.
I
want
to
thank
you
and
I
want
to
thank
your
families
for
allowing
you
to
take
this
job.
It's
a
tough
one
and
all
I
can
tell
you
I
know.
There's
three
counties
here
involved:
I
can
speak
for
Atlantic
County.
We
will
always
have
your
back.
B
C
Well,
hello,
everyone
and
thank
you
for
being
here
to
watch
this
very
very
special
occasion.
It's
my
sincere
pleasure
to
welcome
everybody
here
to
the
ribbon-cutting
ceremony
for
the
Atlantic
County
police
training
center,
feared
Atlanta
cave
community
college
relocating
the
police
training
centers
Atlanta
keeps
Mays.
Landing
campus
had
been
discussed
with
quite
some
time,
so
I'm
very
pleased
that
we've
been
able
to
work
together
to
make
the
relocation
a
reality
again.
C
We'd
like
to
recognize
the
vision
of
our
county
executive
in
thinking
about
this
and
looking
forward
to
having
this
Center
here
in
our
campus
I'd,
also
like
to
recognize
our
County
Administrator
Jerry
de
Rossi
Mike
epidural
Atlantic
County
Police,
Department
of
Public
Safety
department
head
and
mr.
ed
Thornton.
Our
director
of
the
director
of
training
here
in
Atlanta.
Cape
I
would
like
to
thank
our
chief
business
officer,
Auguste
Aquila,
who
coordinated
this
effort
with
the
county
to
make
this
particular
building
available
to
the
also.
Here
today
we
have
several
members
of
our
Board
of
Trustees.
C
Amin
singer
goes
and
also
a
trustee,
Harrison
Furman.
Since
the
college's
inception,
fifty
years
ago,
Atlantic
Cape
has
offered
valuable
programs
and
services
to
meet
the
needs
of
our
community.
This
collaboration
is
just
one
more
example
of
our
commitment
to
this
mission,
and
I
am
confident
it
will
be
beneficial
for
all
involved
by
providing
providing
greater
access
for
educational
opportunities.
C
Graduates
of
the
training
center
may
be
eligible
for
college
credits
towards
an
associate's
degree
here
in
criminal
justice
here
at
Atlantic
King,
also
here
their
opportunities
to
proceed
to
the
bachelor's
degree
at
Rutgers,
which
is
also
located
right
here
in
our
campus
over
the
years.
Our
criminal
justice
program
has
produced
many
excellent
graduates
that
have
gone
on
to
distinguished
careers
in
law
enforcement,
Homeland,
Security,
Corrections
and
policing.
C
We
are
so
proud
of
our
alumni
and
we
are
especially
grateful
for
all
of
them
those
men
and
women
who
dedicate
their
careers
and
their
lives
to
the
service
of
the
protection
of
our
communities.
The
establishment
of
the
police
training
center
hewed
Atlanta
capes
Mays
Landing
campus,
will
enhance
our
ability
to
deliver
on
our
shared
mission
of
providing
educational
and
career
training
opportunities.
I
look
forward
to
strengthening
and
growing
our
partnership
in
the
future.
Thank
you
very
much.
