1) What is the Software Freedom Conservancy and what do they do?
2) An update on the new "Get off of Github" campaign that the SFC is leading.
3) Other opportunities for Backdrop CMS to work with the Software Freedom Conservancy.

Simplo has been working on a Backdrop CMS tutorial on how to build a Farmers Market website with Backdrop CMS. The goal of this project is create a follow along project that new users can experiment with to learn about Backdrop CMS features and some common contributed modules while building a site with practical features that they might also be able to use in their own site.

We forgot to start recording at the beginning. This recording includes some discussion about:

1) The specifics of this tutorial.
2) What kinds of things a tutorial like this should include.
3) Other tools for learning Backdrop CMS.

This session is from Backdrop LIVE July 15, 2022. Eric Toupin from Aten Design Group shares his experience upgrading a complex Drupal 7 site to Backdrop CMS. Eric estimates that using Backdrop was 20% of the cost of upgrading the site to Drupal 9.

Justin Keiser shares his experience with setting up the Apache Solr search application with Backdrop CMS. This was a recording from Backdrop LIVE, July 15, 2022. He uses Lando, a local development environment based on docker, to run both Solr and Backdrop locally so that he can develop his site search functionality.
