From YouTube: Backdrop Outreach Mar 8th
Description
Today’s outreach agenda: http://bit.ly/2ojeoX5
A
All
right,
we
are
on
air
happy
March,
everybody
is
Thursday,
March
8th.
This
is
a
meeting
to
check
in
on
community
outreach
for
backdrops
CMS
this
week.
We
don't
really
have
any
updates
relating
to
website,
because
we
have
taken
care
of
most
of
the
changes
that
were
community
outreach
related.
We
do
have
one
issue
going
on
on
the
homepage:
redesign
we've
got
some
people
weighing
in
on
a
couple
of
design
improvements
that
might
make
it
more
readable.
It
looks
like
they
consensus.
A
There's
we're
gonna
left,
align
the
bulleted
list
of
reasons
why
you
should
adopt
backdrop
and
leave
it
at
that.
We
do
have
some
more
changes
coming
down
the
pipe
about
including
longer
explanations
for
each
of
those
bullets
in
the
future.
So
we
don't
wanna
do
too
much
to
the
pages
that
is
now
won't
be
around
for
long,
but
that's
all
we're
doing
I'm
backed
up
Cena
at
work.
A
I
did
want
to
highlight
that
we
have
a
bunch
of
places
there
for
people
to
create
content
who
maybe
want
to
help
backdrop
in
some
way,
anyone
with
an
account
can
write
a
blog
post.
So
if
you
have
anything
to
say
about
backdrop,
that's
a
good
thing
to
do.
Also,
if
you
read
an
article
on
backdrop,
anyone
out
anywhere
else
on
the
internet
or
you
watch
a
great
video
or
you
listen
to
a
podcast.
A
We
have
a
section
on
the
site
called
external
mentions,
and
it's
hard
for
us
to
keep
on
top
of
all
of
the
places
that
backdrop
might
be
mentioned.
So
if
you
see
any
of
that-
and
you
think
anyone
else
should
know
about
it-
you
can
log
into
the
site
and
create
an
external
mention
as
well.
All
of
that
stuff
is
moderated
so
feel
free
to
post
as
much
as
you
want
it
shouldn't
be
there,
it's
a
duplicate
or
whatever
we
will
remove
it
before
it
goes
live,
so
more
is
better
than
none.
A
That
more
is
better
than
less
and
we
loved
some
help
maintaining
that
content.
If
anybody
wants
to
pitch
in
there,
otherwise
we
have
some
stuff
that
we're
working
on
backed
up
CMS
to
org
wise
is
not
necessarily
related
to
outreach.
In
particular,
we
have
some
changes
coming
to
the
modules
themes
and
layouts
pages.
A
We're
gonna
try
and
make
it
easier
for
people
to
tell
which
modules
themes,
which
modules
and
themes
that
were
available
for
Drupal
are
available
for
backdrop,
they're
needed
or
not,
and
in
that
vein
we
did
create
a
new
page
in
the
last
week
listing
all
of
the
modules
that
are
included
in
backdrop
core,
so
that
might
be
something
that's
fun
to
show
off.
That's
under
developer
notes,
upgrading
from
Drupal
7,
we
had
a
list
of
features
that
were
removed
from
the
core.
We
also
created
a
similar
list
about
features
that
are
added
to
court.
A
A
So
if
it's
something
that
was
integrated
directly
into
another
module
or
if
it's
something
that
is
partially
included
like
module,
filter
module,
libraries,
module
stuff
like
that-
that
that
you
don't
necessarily
need
all
of,
but
you
might
need
some
up,
we
tried
to
indicate
how
how
stuff
was
included.
This
is
just
this
might
not
be
a
complete
list.
A
This
is
just
kind
of
my
brain
dump,
based
on
the
resources
that
we'd
already
collected,
so
the
the
slides
that
we
do
at
our
events
and
commit
history
roadmap
stuff,
like
that
I
tried
to
pull
out
features
that
I
knew
had
gone
into
core.
But
if
anyone
knows
of
anything
else,
that's
not
on
this
list
that
we
might
want
to
add.
A
Let
us
know:
we've
got
a
couple
of
editors
on
the
site
who
can
make
those
changes,
so
that's
kind
of
a
big
thing
that
I
thought
would
help
people
and
they're
deciding
whether
backdrop
is
ready
for
their
sites
or
not
all
right.
I'm
gonna
stop
screen
sharing
but
yeah
sites
on
backdrop
CMS
or
if
you
wanna,
take
a
look.
A
A
So
I
would
like
to
write
a
blog
post
about
that
or
I
would
like
someone
tried
a
blog
post
about
that,
maybe
not
me,
but
it
is
gonna
require
setting
up
fastly
I'm
doctor
of
CMS
org
forum,
say
API
site
in
translation
site
to
get
all
of
our
properties
under
that
agreement,
which
is
great
so
I'm,
maybe
not
a
blog
post
this
week,
but
once
we
get
those
ready,
that'll
be
fun.
We're
also
moving
forward
with
the
software
freedom.
A
Conservancy
I
sent
an
email
off
yesterday
to
Karen
to
find
out
where
we
are
with
that,
but
it
would
be
great
if
we
could
have
a
couple
blog
posts
about
that.
I
know
we're
expecting
one
from
Nate
before
the
announcement
that
everyone
can
make
tax
deductible
donations,
which
will
probably
be
later
trying
to
figure
out
how
that's
gonna
work.
A
There's
a
couple
of
new
sites
that
they're
gonna
be
thrown
into
the
showcase
one
of
which
I
hope
to
put
up
today,
which
is
a
backdrop
multi
site,
and
maybe
some
notes
about
when
a
multi
site
should
be
used
and,
more
importantly,
when
it
should
not
be
used
and
we've
got
some
other
sites
showing
up
in
the
showcase
soon
some
community
spotlights
underway.
There's
a
ton
of
great
podcasts
right
now
that
are
out
about
backdrop.
I
thought
it
might
be
great
to
do
a
blog
post
kind
of
highlighting
those
podcasts
and
yeah
anything
else.
A
Anyone
wants
to
write
about
that
is
timely
and
relevant.
We
are
happy
to
promote
so
that
we
have
nothing
imminent.
We've
got
a
lot
of
stuff
kind
of
in
the
works.
There
same
thing
with
a
newsletter.
Whatever
happens
next,
we
will
send
a
newsletter
on
I,
don't
know
if
that's
the
fastly
announcement,
the
Conservancy
announcement,
maybe
an
article
highlighting
d/deaf
and
land
was
backdrop
support,
I,
don't
know,
we've
got
a
lot
of
stuff
going
on
I,
don't
know.
A
A
A
A
But
it
would
be
great
to
get
anyone,
who's,
writing
or
working
on
backdrop
stuff.
That
has
something
to
share
with
your
video
to
get
those
promoted.
I,
don't
know
that
we
have
anything
necessarily
scheduled,
but
we'll
be
good
to
use
those.
We
have
a
whole
list
of
things.
We
should
be
tweeting
about.
There's
been
a
lot
of
noise
on
Twitter
recently
about
backdrop,
which
I
think
is
really
great,
so
I
think
kind
of
keeping
the
active
me
going
there.
A
A
Don't
know
if
this
is
worth
talking
about
sort
of
a
movement
to
try
and
get
people
who
aren't
us
talking
about
backdrop.
So
if
anyone
else
like,
for
example,
Dida
wrote
an
article
on
their
site
about
a
docking
backdrop
vastly
hopefully
we'll
mentioned
backdrop
and
one
of
their
upcoming.
A
A
That's
generally
good
I've
noticed
there's
a
Twitter
account
I'm
following
called
CMS
CMS,
where
they
do
all
these
comparisons
and
I
go
particularly
are
watching
the
like
Drupal
versus
WordPress
ones,
they're,
not
super
technical,
but
they're
kind
of
short,
five
minute
videos
generally,
which
I
thought
would
be
something
that
would
be
interesting
too,
so
maybe
you'll
reach
out
to
them
and
see
if
they
want
to
include
backdrop
in
one
of
their
CMS
to
CMS
comparisons,
ideas,
its
Drupal
cam
season.
A
So
we
have
a
lot
of
Drupal
camps
coming
up
coming
up
this
weekend
is
knit
camp
in
Chicago
I'm,
not
sure
if
anyone
there
is
presenting
on
factor
up,
but
there
are
a
lot
of
our
friends
and
community
members,
there
I
think
Andy
will
be
there,
there's
a
bunch
of
other
people
who
might
want
to
have
chats
about
bagged
up.
So
if
you're
in
the
hallway
ask
the
friend
you're
curious
about
it,
nerd
summit,
which
I
think
is
in
two
weeks,
is
in
the
Northeast
I.
Think
Jeff
will
be
there.
A
I,
don't
think
anyone's
giving
a
session.
But
you're
definitely
welcome
to
ask
him
about
Africa
through
there
sand
camp
the
week
after
that,
in
San
Diego
I'll,
be
there
I'm
doing
two
talks.
Linda's
our
normal
backdrop
talk,
but
another
one
is
a
talk
that
Zakia
from
Chapter
three
and
I
did
last
fall
at
a
San
Francisco
Drupal
meetup.
That
was
sort
of
a
backdrop
versus
triple-eight
smackdown,
where
we
have
a
bunch
of
bullet
points.
Where
we'll
say
you
know,
how
is
dr.
A
bond
use
your
experience
and
then
also
they
might
bit
about
user
experience
and
then
we'll
say
how
is
Triple,
E
and
user
experience
and
then
she'll
say
her
bit
on
Drupal,
8
and
user,
and
you
can
kind
of
get
a
takeaway
of
like
of
the
topic
that
we
discuss,
which
project
might
be
best
for
you
in
the
future
or
best
for
your
clients
or
that's
free
something
you
might
have
in
mind.
So
that's
kind
of
fun.
A
If
your
inner
to
the
thing
that
you
definitely
I'm
Sam
can,
because
it's
probably
gonna
be
beautiful
at
San
Diego
and
we
also
got
a
section
accepted
at
Stanford,
Drupal,
Camp,
I
think
that's
in
April
there
are
a
ton
of
camps
and
conferences
coming
up,
we're
adding
all
the
ones
that
we
think
are
gonna,
be
good
places
to
learn
about
back
job
to
the
events,
calendar
and
doctor
pianist
at
work
that
yeah.
It
would
be
great
to
see
other
ideas
about
how
we
can
outreach.
A
Now
that
want
to
move
to
backdrop
and
what
that
would
look
like
so
Jack
and
I
have
been
having
a
little
bit
of
a
conversation.
Nate
I'm,
not
sure,
if
you've
just
seen
that
at
all
about
what
we
might
be
willing
to
offer
there
we're
gonna
try
in
brainstorm
ahead
of
time
on
some
session
that
will
be
back
Jeff
in
civvy
specific.
A
We
might
do
a
demo,
we'll
try
and
figure
out
what
would
be
the
best
fit
for
that
event
depending
on
who's
gonna
be
there
and
what
they
want
to
know,
but
it
is
kind
of
a
our
first
opportunity
to
actually
sponsor
something
where
we
wouldn't
necessarily
feel
like
we're
advertising
backdrop
to
the
Drupal
community.
This
is
a
civvy
event
where
it's
a
little
safer
or
there's
fewer
toasts
to
step
on
in.
A
A
Now
I,
don't
think
I
have
anything
to
add.
Okay
and
I
open
an
issue
for
pmc,
since
it's
about
spending
backdrop
money
and
we
came
up
with
some-
let's
make
a
budget
and
figure
it
if
we
have
advertising
dollars
and
in
particular
enough
to
sponsor
events,
and
if
so,
which
events
are
gonna
be
most
worthwhile
for
us
to
sponsor
I.
Think
it's
a
great
idea,
but
we
I
also
am
a
little
hesitant
to
do
that
before
we
get
all
set
up
with
the
software
freedom
Conservancy,
because
I
figured,
they
might
already
have
tools
like
this.
A
For
us
they
might
not,
maybe
we'll
just
go
back
to
using
spreadsheets
or
whatever,
but
also
we're
gonna
be
moving
all
of
our
money
over
to
them
and
all
that
stuff.
So
yeah,
it's
probably
a
good
idea
to
get
organized
Unum.
Whichever
way
that
ends
up
happening,
but
if
we
need
to
make
a
decision
about
this
first
we'll
do
that
first,
so
figure
it
out
and
okay.
Well,
that's
all
I
have
for
outreach
stuff.
We
are
a
team
of
mostly
developers,
so
we're
not
necessarily
very
good
at
this
outreach
stuff.
A
If
you
are
watching
this
video
now
or
watch
it
later,
and
you
have
ideas,
you
think
there's
something
we're
missing
the
mark
on
or
something
we
should
be
doing,
that
we're
not
doing
we're,
definitely
all
ears.
We
have
been
using
the
doctor
of
CMS
to
org
issue
q,
specifically
for
outreach
related
things.
We
know
that's
not
a
great
way
to
manage
outreach
tests,
but
in
the
tool
we
have
so
definitely
feel
free.
To
do
that,
you
can
use
the
contact
form
on
vector
up
CMS
to
org.
You
can
tweet
at
us.
A
You
can
contact
anyone
via
our
get
er
live
chat
channel,
so
any
ideas
we're
definitely
open
to
them,
especially
we're
especially
interested
in
having
people
who
have
like
marketing
and
outreach
experience,
because
we
don't
have
a
lot
of
that
on
our
team,
so
definitely
looking
forward
to
help
or
guidance
yeah.
That's
it
for
this
week.
Anything
else
you
want
to
add
me.
No
thank
you
for
leading
that's
all.
Well,
then
we
will
reconvene
in
15
minutes
we're
gonna
have
a
weekly
developer
meeting
same
thing,
different
Channel.
