From YouTube: Backdrop Outreach - 2021/07/01
Description
This weeks meeting should have been about Design/UX, but we talked about Backdrop LIVE instead - given that it is happening in one week. So, we will include this meeting in the Outreach playlist.
A
Introducer
it's
too
late.
The
meeting's
already
been
going
so
anyways,
I'm
out
it's
already
clear
hello.
Welcome
everybody
to
the
outreach
meeting
we
just
have
the
design
meeting
like
we
didn't
clarify
that
right
before.
A
Well,
what
I
meant
to
say
was
welcome
to
the
combined
outreach
design
meeting
because
luke
robert
and
I
have
talked
about
the
fact
that
we
none
of
us
really
brought
any
design
issues
to
this
meeting.
We
don't
want
to
just
go
through
an
agenda
of
old
issues
that
probably
don't
have
any
updates.
A
There
are
some
design
related
things
that
were
we
were
chatting
about
before
the
meeting
and
we
can
continue
and
there's
also
some
important
outreach
stuff
because
we
have
backdrop
live
in
a
week,
so
this
meeting
will
be
about
either
of
those
things
it's
going
to
be
pretty
informal.
I
don't
even
have
the
agenda
open
and
I
don't
think
that
opening
that
up
is
going
to
help.
So,
let's
just
chat,
let's
introduce
ourselves,
I'm
ted,
like
we
usually
do.
I'm
tim,
st
paul
tim,
I'm
in
deerwood,
minnesota.
A
C
I'm
luke
mccormick
cell
ear
is
my
handle,
I'm
in
san
ramon,
california.
I
do
drupal
programming
and
product
management
from
time
to
time.
I'm
apparently
leading
a
session
at
backdrop
live
next
week
that
I
need
to
start
working
on
on
no
code.
C
Backdrop,
if
it's
possible
and
I'm
I'm
looking
forward
to
backdrop
live
even
though
it's
it
feels
a
little
bit
like
skydiving
jump
out
the
plane
and
hope
the
parachute.
B
I
put
my
life
in
my
hands
to
volunteer
to
do
a
session
on
bootstrap
in
backdrop,
live
and
we've
in
fact
been
talking
about
bootstrap
and
I'll,
just
sort
of
recap
something
we
talked
about
for
the
purposes
of
this
meeting
the
this.
The
idea
that
there's
not
a
nice
user
interface
tool
for
designing
the
sorts
of
complex,
responsive
layouts
that
that
bootstrap
is
capable
of
there
are
some
bootstrap
themes.
Bootstrap
live
awesome,
a
new
one
being
developed.
B
There
are
there's
the
views,
bootstrap
module
that
specifically
uses
bootstrap
reviews,
but
there's
a
lot
of
the
ways
of
making
use
of
bootstrap
required
coding
and
various
folks.
Here
I
think
we
all
agreed
would
like
to
be
able
to
do
that
sort
of
design
from
the
right,
maybe
by
some
sort
of
a
layout
on
on
steroids.
It
has
a
lot
of
settings
or
a
nice
ui
and
stuff,
so
we
just
sort
of
floated
that
as
an
idea-
maybe
it's
something
that
might
grow
or
maybe
someone
out
there
will
say.
A
Right
well,
thank
you.
Both.
Let's
follow
right
up
on.
Oh
look,
you
were
so
you
do
that
from
time
to
time
you
freeze,
and
I
think
your
screen
is
frozen,
and
then
I
see
you
blinking.
A
I
would
like,
as
the
person
who's
sort
of
recruiting
and
trying
to
get
people
to
do,
topics
and
have
twisted
both
of
your
arms
a
little
bit.
I
would
like
to
push
back
a
little
bit
on
this
idea
of
it
being
as
scary
as
jumping
out
of
an
airplane
luke.
A
A
What
I
keep
telling
people
is
you
don't
to
delete
a
topic?
Sometimes
different
topics
require
different
amounts
of
preparation.
I
acknowledge
that,
but
nobody
should
feel
like
that
in
order
to
lead
a
topic
that
they
have
to
do
about
very
much
or
in
any
preparations.
In
some
cases
there
are
issues
like
we're
going
to
have
topics
on
things
like
getting
reference
module
in
core
where
to
to
to
lead
that
discussion.
Really
all
you
have
to
do
is
be
there
and
convene
it.
A
A
C
A
In
talking,
maybe
a
few
examples,
but
but
again
you
don't
need
a
45
minute.
You
know
slideshow
right,
so
I
would.
I
would
suggest
that
you
know
for
you.
You
just
come
with
again
some
ideas,
maybe
a
rough
outline
or
some
some
topics,
some
questions,
some
questions
you
have
that
you
can
use
to
start
the
discussion
and-
and
that
could
be
enough-
but
in
this
case
a
couple
of
examples.
I
did
do
a
video
on
this
topic,
a
virtual
user
group.
I
don't
know
if
you
remember
it,
oh
well,
it
was
yeah.
A
I
I'll
try
and
remember
to
show
it
to
you
and
that
might
give
you
some
ideas
or
starting
points
and
and
robert.
I
think
you
have
the
same
thing.
You
don't
really
need
to
do
a
lot
of
prep
for
your
bootstrap
one,
because
really
the
goal
is
to
give
people
a
chance.
You
know
to
bring
in
their
various
ideas-
and
you
might
you
know
I
would
be
prepared
to
like
maybe
share
your
screen
and
show
some
of
those
modules
or
themes
or
or
even
just
the
github
pages.
B
Oh
yeah,
that's
I
mean-
and
I'm
probably
the
last
person
to
ask
to
try
to
teach
people
about
bootstrap
anyhow,
but
I
was
thinking
more,
a
survey
of
sort
of
what
themes
and
modules
are
out
there
and
talk
a
little
bit
about
the
differences
between
them
to
help
people
kind
of
make
the
choice
of
what
should
I
use?
What
should
I
start
with
yeah.
A
You
know,
and
if
you
have
five
or
ten
minutes
to
sort
of
see
that
discussion,
I
think
it's
going
to
take
off.
Look
at
the
the
whole
discussion
we
were
having
right
before
we
started
this.
This
would
all
be
appropriate.
I
think
for
your
theme
and
you
didn't
have
any
preparation
for
that
right.
We
just
talked
for
15
minutes
based
on
our
own
interests
and
knowledge
of
that
so
and
to
me
it
was
a
very
useful
discussion.
It's
got
me
rethinking
how
I
want
to
use
bootstrap
in
in
some
of
my
concrete
themes.
C
So
well,
well
you
you
know
how
I
was
in
our
pre-meeting
discussion.
I
I
mentioned
that
that
I
could.
I
could
write
specs
for
the
thing
that
I
wish
existed
so
so,
maybe
maybe
I'll
maybe
I'll
do
that
for
the
for
the
meeting
like
come
up
like
this.
This
is
what
I
wish
we
had
do.
We
already
have
it.
I
just
don't
know
where
to
look
for
it
or
like
what
do
we
have
to
write
to
get
it?
Is
it
desirable?
So
I
I
can.
I
can
definitely
see
the
conversation
with
something
like
that.
C
I
I
can
I
I
could
you
know
have
a
prototype.
I
I
can.
I
can
wireframe
something
and
start
a
discussion
based
on
that.
C
A
To
talk
about
that
anyways,
I'm
gonna
share
my
screen
and
we're
gonna
look
at
the
schedule
so
far.
A
Okay,
so
I
should
be
sharing
my
screen
right
now,
and
this
is
the
current
we
do
not
have
the
schedule
built
into
the
events
workshop
yet
or
website.
Yet
by
next
friday,
you
will
be
able
to
access
the
schedule
there.
A
The
reason
that
we
don't
do
that
yet
is
that
it's
the
the
schedule
is
evolving,
we're
adding
things
to
it.
We
can.
We
want
to
be
able
to
move
things
easily
around
that's
harder
on
the
website
than
it
is
in
the
spreadsheet,
so
we're
really
just
keeping
the
schedule
here
for
now
it
is
I
I
to
be
honest,
I
think
we're
we
have
as
full
a
schedule
a
week
out
this
time
as
we
did
for
our
last
backdrop,
live
I'd
like
to
see
this
filled
out
a
little
bit
more.
A
I'd
really
like
to
get
some
more
topics
in
this
d
time
slot,
which
is
the
time
slot.
That's
a
little
bit
more
europe
orientated
and
or
asia.
It's
in
the
middle
of
the
night
in.
C
A
Us
and
north
america,
south
america,
so
if,
if
you're
willing
to
host
some
discussions
in
this
d
time
slot,
please
help
us
fill
that
slot
up.
I
think
everything
else
we're
doing.
Okay
and
we're
going
to
get
some
more.
We
were
just
talking
about
the
sessions
or
the
topics
that
robert
and
luke
are
talking
about.
Doing
luke's
got
this
or
robert
has
a
topic,
bootstrap
345
tools
and
plans,
and
do
you
want
to
say
what
you're
what
you
think
that's
about
right
now,
robert.
B
Oh
just
simply
talking
about
on
tools.
What
are
the
themes
and
modules
a
little
bit
of
background
on
what
are
differences
between
three
four
and
five,
and
so
why?
It
might
matter
if
you
try
to
mix
versions
which
is
not
a
good
idea
and
then
plans,
which
that's
the
part
that
I
think
will
solicit
a
lot
of
input
from
other
participants.
B
What
are
people
hoping
to
do
in
terms
of
building
modules
and
things
and
and
layouts
that
make
use
of
the
bootstrap
classes
and.
A
Okay-
and
you
know
that
the
discussion
that
we're
there
right
now,
there
is
a
bootstrap
light
theme
and
there's
work
on
a
bootstrap
light
five
light,
and
I
assume
we'll
talk
a
little
bit
about
that.
Maybe
right
yeah
or
certainly
it's
an
appropriate
thing.
I
would
think
to
come
up
here
if,
if
there's
interest
luke,
do
you
want
to
talk
briefly
about
your
topic?
No
code
background?
What
you
think
that's
going
to
be
about.
C
Sure
I
mean
the
the
thing
that
brought
me
to
drupal
way
way
back
when
I
originally
did
it
was,
was
the
the
desire
to
kind
of
do
the
information
architecture
things
that
I
used
to
do
you
know,
starting
with
designing
the
sql
tables
of
a
database
driven
website,
and
it
seemed
like
like
drupal.
Let
me
do
most
of
the
things
that
I
wanted
to
in
terms
of
information
architecture,
but
then
frustratingly
there
was
this
huge
gap
of
like
no.
C
In
backdrop,
without
ever
having
to
open
up
a
text
editor
and
and
end
up
with
sort
of
a
wish
list
of
the
things
you
can't
do
and
and
ways
to
maybe
possibly
do
them
be,
because
I
I
think
I
think
that
that
portion
of
of
functionality-
that's
not
attainable
to
a
you
know.
Without
a
text,
editor
cuts
off
a
huge
portion
of
our
potential
audience
and
in
order
to
expand
our
reach,
I
think
it
would
be
it'd,
be
nice
to
close
that
gap
as
much
as
possible.
A
Great
just
if
anybody
wants
to
find
the
spreadsheet
we've
linked
to
it
in
a
few
places,
including
on
twitter
and
and
in
the
zulu,
but
it's
also.
If
you
go
to
the
event
site,
it's
a
little
bit
buried
right
now.
Maybe
we
should
make
it
more
prominent,
but
under
the
topic,
ideas
there's
a
link
to
the
final
schedule
which
will
take
you
to
this
spreadsheet
and
you
can
just
go
ahead
and
add
a
topic
to
this
I'm
debating
in
my
head.
A
A
But
you
could
go
ahead
and
add
a
topic
here
or
you
can
just
ping
one
of
us
and
let
us
know
what
you'd
like
to
talk
about
and
we
can
help
you
get
it
scheduled.
There
is
also
a
tab
on
the
spreadsheet
for
ideas
of
topics
we'd
really
like
to
see,
or
some
people
would
like
to
see,
and
some
of
us
have
been
putting
our
names
by
topics
that
we're
interested
in,
hopefully
to
help
sort
of
stimulate
interest
in
in
facilitating
a
topic.
A
C
A
I
I
agree:
what
are
some
improving
documentation
for
backdrop
would
be
a
great
topic
again.
You
don't
have
to
be
prepared
for
that
session.
All
you've
got
to
do
is
show
up
and
be
willing.
I
I'd
be
willing
to
bet
just
about
everybody
that
shows
up
is
going
to
come
with
some
ideas
about
how
they'd
like
to
see
backdrop,
documentation,
improved
and
your
job
as
the
facilitator
is
just
to
get
the
discussion
going
so
anyways
yeah.
A
Does
anybody
have
luke
or
robert
either
of
you?
Have
any
questions
or
comments
about
backdrop
live
anything
that
you've
that
we
should
talk
about.
A
No
okay,
we
really
those
of
us
who
normally
do
all
of
the
planning
have
been
really
overwhelmed
with
other
things.
The
format
for
backdrop
live.
A
This
unconference
format
allows
us
to
kind
of
keep
the
event
going
without
a
lot
of
work,
so
we're
not
doing
quite
as
much
promotion
as
we
have
in
previous
months,
however,
and
I'm
sure,
because
of
the
time
slot,
it's
it's
in
mid-summer
right
after
the
4th
of
july
in
the
us,
we
know
that
a
number
of
our
regular
usual
suspects
are
going
to
be
on
vacation
that
week,
but
I,
I
still
think
we're
going
to
have
a
good
group
of
people,
and
this
is
going
to
be
a
good
event.
A
I
noticed
a
number
of
the
people
registering
are
new
names
I
haven't
seen
before.
So
that's
good.
We
really
need
help
just
spread.
You
know
if
you
use
social
media
at
all
and
can
help
us
spread.
The
word
about
backdrop
live
just
mention
it
in
your
social
media.
That
would
be
great.
A
If
you
can
are
willing
to
host
a
topic,
the
more
stuff
we
get
on
this
schedule.
I
think
that's
going
to
help
us
recruit
more
participants
and
yeah.
I
don't
know
if
anybody
has
other
ideas
of
things
we
can
do
in
this
last
this
last
week.
I
know
we
talked,
I
don't
know
if
you
were
here
for
that
discussion.
Luke,
I'm
sure
robert
was
we
talked
about
like
two
weeks
ago
about
advertising
in
the
weekly
drop.
C
A
People
generally
seem
supportive
of
the
idea.
The
problem
is,
we
just
haven't,
had
the
time
or
focus
to
follow
through
on
it
technically.
C
B
A
She
did
that
robert,
you
might
not
have
got
that
update.
Jen
did
like
right
at
that.
You
know
what,
as
she
often
does.
While
we
were
having
the
discussion.
I
think.
A
Off
an
email-
and
he
got
back
to
her
pretty
quickly
and
said
that
he
would
certainly
be
open
to
us
advertising
there
so,
and
that
was
that
was
the
question
was:
would
we
be?
Would
it
be
okay,
if
we
advertised
there
just
getting
on
their
schedule,
I
don't
know
how
they
put
their
get
their
schedule
together,
but
that
that
is
another
good
idea.
Somebody
just
has
to
make
the
effort.
I
don't
think
that
was
the
question
jen
asked,
but
we
could
thought
we
could
follow
up
with
that
and
we.
C
A
An
ad
would
cost
some
money
and
technically,
I
think
we
need
to
like
do
a
quick
pmc
vote
or
something
I
don't
know
and,
and
it
might
be
too
late
to
get
an
ad
in
before
before
next
like
next
week's
would
be
the
last
edition.
Do
you
know
when
it
comes
out
the
weekly
draft.
C
A
If
that
wouldn't
hurt,
you
know
I
mean,
I
think
our
event
is,
first
of
all,
if
anybody's
not
aware
it's
a
requested
donation
right,
so
we
we're
suggesting
20
donation,
but
really
you
can
participate
for
free,
and
so
you
know
to
get
some
people
to
sign
up
at
the
last
minute
seems
completely
reasonable
at
that
price.
A
You
know
if
we
ran
an
ad
even
the
day
before,
for
certainly
it'd
be
great
to
get
it
listed.
Okay,
so
that
was
one
marketing
thing.
It
was
kind
of
the
big
marketing
thing
that
we've
talked
about,
unfortunately
not
acted
on.
I
don't
know
we
did
get
a
newsletter
out
this
week
and
that
we
saw
a
little
surge
in
registrations
and
we've
only
got
13
registrations
so
far.
If
we
get
30
by
next,
you
know
if
you
get
30
people
registered.
A
I
think
that's
a
decent
number
for
this
event,
and
I
think
we
could
because
a
lot
of
people
don't
register
until
the
last
minute,
but
a
lot
of
that
13
didn't
come
until
we
did
our
newsletter
so
and
we'll
probably
hit
the
newsletter
list.
One
more
time
in
the
middle
of
next
week
is
a
final
reminder.
A
C
I,
as
the
as
a
facebook
admin
I
I
should
post
it
to
facebook
I'll,
I'm
guessing
no
one's.
No
one
else
has
done
that.
So
no.
C
A
I
it's
the
very
minimum
just
a
post,
but
if
you
could
create
an
event
on
facebook,
I
think
that
would
be
good
as
well
yeah.
I
think
we
did
that
last
time
we
created
an
event,
and
I
I
bet
that
gives
us
a
couple
of
registrations
all.
C
Right,
I'm
also,
I
again
I'll
also
promote
it
to
linkedin,
if
no
one
else
has
done
that
which
I'm
guessing
right
all
right,
because,
because
that
actually
I've
I've
I've
got,
I
want
a
few
fairly
large
drupal
related
groups
on
on
linkedin,
where
that
would
be.
That
would
get
some
reach.
A
Yeah
and
you
could
you
know,
you
might
highlight
the
fact
that
there's
going
to
be
a
session
on
upgrading
from
drupal
7
to
backdrop
or
maybe
not,
whichever.
A
I
I
feel
like
one
of
our
biggest
selling
points
for
this
event
is
it's
a
great
opportunity
if
you're
thinking
about
upgrading
right
from
background
to
backdrop
and
the
more
we
can
focus,
you
know
these
linkedins
a
lot
of
the
channels
we're
talking
about
right
now,
topics
like
core
development
or
the
telemetry
initiative
are
not
are
not
interesting
at
all,
but
how
to
upgrade
how
to
port
modules,
how
to
use
the
layout
system.
Those
are
the
things
that
are
going
to
interest
people
that
are
totally
new
to
background.
A
C
This
is
totally
unconferencing
by
but
sort
of
the.
If
I
can
say
it,
telemetry
initiative
remind
me
of
this.
We
there's
a
there's,
a
there's,
a
project
that
was
announced
at
the
last
duplicon
to
create
a
project
installer,
that's
a
lot
like
our
project.
Installer
that
that
you
know
is,
is
up
and
running
and
and
works
pretty
well.
So
so
I
I
wonder
if
there's
and
you
know
I
I'm
in
touch
with
the
maintainer-
I
mean
at
least
I
was
back
at
drupalcon,
so
so,
who
knows?
C
Maybe
I
can
if
we
can
rope
something
like
that
and
yeah
the
the
the
guy
that
that
originally
wrote
that
he
came
and
went
right,
he's
not
he's
not
around
anymore.
Do
you
remember
who
was
the.
A
C
C
C
A
And
we
included
them
in
our
event
and
we
that
really
came
together
in
the
last
week.
It's
not
too
late
to
sort
of
reach
out
to
another
project
or
to
invite
somebody
specifically
that
might
not
be
an
active
member
in
the
backdrop,
community
or
or
maybe
isn't
interested
to
be,
but
but
could
bring
some
valuable
content
to
our
event
right.
So
we
could,
you
know.
Other
examples
are
just
have
somebody
come
and
talk
to
us
about
accessibility.
A
We
did
that
last
time,
if
you
have
any
other
ideas
like
that
of
people
to
reach
out
and
invite
to
be
in
the
first
two
backdrops
I
realized.
I
did
a
lot
of
that.
You
know
reaching
out
to
individuals
and
saying:
hey:
are
you
coming
to
backdrop
live
and,
and
or
would
you
be
willing
to
talk
about
a
specific
topic,
and
I
haven't
done
any
of
that
this
time
and
I
think
reaching
out
to
folks
that
we
know.
A
A
A
Well,
I
think
we
should
is
there
any
up
anything
else.
We
want
to
talk
about.
A
A
C
A
A
We
were
just
talking
about
the
different
ways
that
people
use
bootstrap,
and
I
recommend
that
you,
if
you're
interested
in
this
topic,
check
out
the
issue
queue
for
bootstrap
five
light
or
bootstrap
light,
where
some
of
those
discussions
are
happening
already,
sort
of
outreachy
we've
had
a
little
bit
of
the
forum
has
been
a
little
bit
active
lately.
A
Do
I
have
it
open
yeah,
and
there
is
a
discussion
going
on
right
now
that
touches
on
bootstrap,
although
it's
really
more
about
layouts,
I
think,
but
there's
been
some
activity
there,
there's
a
few
people
with
some
questions
that
haven't
got
answered.
A
If
you
have
some
minute
some
time
to
check
in
on
the
the
the
forum,
there's
a
couple
of
questions,
somebody's
looking
for
help
with
a
module
or
some
ideas
about
how
to
manage
rotating
ads,
they
could
really
use
some
ideas
in
the
forum
and
then
there's
this
recent
topic
about
implementing
notifications
for
users,
where
this
user,
I
think
is,
is
in
need
of
some
ideas
so
drop
by
the
forum
and
help
out
there.
If
you
did,
let's,
let's
wrap
up
this
meeting,
get
ready
for
the
next
one.
Somebody
joined
us.
A
C
A
Least
and
as
usual,
I
need
a
minute
to
remember
where
the
buttons.
