From YouTube: Backdrop Outreach Feb 8th
Description
Today’s outreach agenda: http://bit.ly/2FdntXx
A
Oh
right,
we
are
on
air,
it
is
Thursday
February
8.
This
is
a
meeting
to
talk
about
community
outreach
for
backdrops
CMS
on
our
weekly
agenda
this
week
we
have
a
couple
of
updates
about
the
website.
Obviously
we
have
made
some
changes
to
the
homepage
recently,
we're
not
quite
done
with
that
series
of
changes,
we're
working
on
adding
a
how
to
try
backdrop
page
right
now.
Our
call
to
action
is
to
spin
up
a
site
on
Pantheon,
which
is
great,
but
we
have
a
bunch
of
other
good
tools.
A
I
want
to
encourage
people
to
use
like
Lando
and
Dido.
Also
just
merge
support
for
backdrop
last
week,
so
I'd
love
to
get
all
of
the
tools
that
support
backdrop
listed
on
that
page
rather
than
driving
everyone
directly
to
Pantheon.
I
reviewed
Jeff's
pull
request
for
that
this
week
it
was
pretty
good,
but
I
was
thinking
that,
because
we're
gonna
have
all
of
these
new
projects
that
are
gonna
be
supporting
backdrop.
That
would
be
good
to
make
that
a
view
where
we
can
have
a
content
type.
A
So
any
way
you
can
try
backdrop
would
automatically
appear
in
that
view,
and
right
now,
it's
all
hard-coded
into
a
page
with
a
current
poll
request.
So
I
thought
I
would
kind
of
take
a
look
at
that
today
and
see
if
we
can
come
up
with
a
slightly
more
flexible
architecture
for
that
page.
But
it
looks
good
and
it
is
under
white.
A
Also,
we
sent
out
a
survey
at
the
end
of
2017,
maybe
in
early
January
that
asks
people
to.
Let
us
know
what
their
biggest
blockers
were
for
adopting
backdrop,
and
it
seemed
like
we
had
an
overwhelming
amount
of
responses
that
were
saying
they're
having
trouble
either
determining
which
modules
were
available
for
backdrop
or
getting
the
information
they
needed,
that
the
modules
they're
looking
forward,
maybe
aren't
necessary
in
backdrop
anymore.
A
So
we
need
to
improve
the
experience
of
finding
and
installing
modules
for
people
that
includes
changes
to
backup
CMS
org
the
site
as
well
as
backdrop
the
product
once
you
already
have
it
installed.
If
you're
searching
for
modules
on
modules
page
there.
So
next,
up
on
our
list
for
community
outreach
stuff,
is
to
fix
our
module
selection
process
and
then
tell
everybody.
Thanks
for
your
feedback,
we've
adjusted
our
process
based
on
what
you
needed
and
let
them
know
that
those
changes
are
happening.
A
So
we
will
continue
working
on
that
in
the
near
future
in
terms
of
our
blog
posts.
I
think
that
our
next
blog
post
should
be
about
the
software
freedom
Conservancy.
This
is
an
organization.
That's
now
going
to
be
our
legal
and
fiscal
sponsor
going
forward,
and
we
just
got
heard
back
from
their
executive
director
last
week
that
she's
super
excited
about
getting
us
on
board.
We're
super
excited
about
being
on
board
and
we
should
have
some
tangible
updates
for
people
in
the
near
future.
A
But
there
might
be
other
information
we
wanted
to
72
people,
maybe
not
all
in
one
blog
post,
so
we'll
see
how
that
goes.
So
I
don't
know
Nate
what
you
want
to
do
with
timing
on
that
stuff.
Maybe
we
should
wait
until
we
have
a
newsletter
going
out
this
week
that
will
coincide
with
our
next
backdraft
bug-fix
release.
So
maybe,
after
that,
we
write
the
blog
posts
and
then
when
we
send
the
next
newsletter,
it'll
be
about
the
Conservancy
and
we
can
point
at
the
blog
posts.
B
I
think
we
could
at
least
draft
a
blog
post
any
time
you
know
like
it
would
be
great
to
have
that
ready
out
there
and
ready
yeah.
That's
been
on
my
to-do
list
for
a
long
time,
just
making
that
clear
and
I
mean
it
doesn't
even
need
to
be.
Like
I've
already
done
this
thing,
it
can
just
be
we're
planning
to
do
this
thing.
Yeah.
B
A
Well,
we'll
need
to
happen
before
Conservancy
sponsors
us.
So
if
that's
gonna
happen
in
the
next
week
or
so,
oh
really,
oh
I,
don't
know
I
mean
we'll
hear
from
her
this
week.
I,
don't
know
how
process
that,
how
long
that
process
is
start
to
finish,
but
if
it
has
to
be
done
before
we
start,
then
that's
something
that
we
should
keep
in
mind.
Yeah.
B
I
kind
of
think,
it's
probably
something
that
it's
a
you
know
that
they
wouldn't
actually
stop
anything,
but
it
probably
is
you
know,
there's
different
stream
like
being
in
violation
of
contract
and
actually
being
punished
for
being
in
violation
of
contract
sort
of
thing
where
it's
like.
Imagine
that
you
know
somebody
on
a
product
management
committee
changed
jobs
and
they
just
so
happened
to
join
the
company
of
another
project
management
committee.
Member,
like
the
software
freedom,
Conservancy,
wouldn't
immediately
drop
the
project.
They
would
just
say
you
just
need
to
adjust.
A
A
So
it
seemed
like
we
could
solve
both
of
those
problems
with
Nate
checking
off
the
PMC
remaining
on
as
a
core
committer.
And
then
we
can
ask
him
questions
about
technical
stuff
about
core.
We
need
to
meet
their
requirements
of
freedom
Conservancy
with
him,
not
actually
being
part
of
our
project.
Management
can
be
anymore,
so
the
kind
of
will
be
better
for
everyone
once
we
do
that,
but
we
have
to
actually
do
it
put
your
fires,
letting
if
we
know
we're
gonna,
do
it
and
then
doing
it.
A
So
that's
where
we're
at
okay,
so
blog
posts,
I,
think
a
couple
relating
to
Conservancy
I
also
know
I'm
working
on
a
ton
of
backdrop
sites
right
now.
My
list
of
work
for
February
is
one
two,
three
four
five
six
seven
sites
and
getting
moved
in
the
backdrop.
Two
of
them
should
wrap
up
this
month
and
I'm
hoping
to
put
them
into
the
showcase,
because
they
look
really
pretty
and
with
those
two
I
was
hoping
to
do
a
sort
of
a
showcase
blog
post.
That
was
like
why
we
chose
backdrop.
A
The
things
they're
a
little
bit
more
complicated
than
an
average
site
and
kind
of
a
deep
dive
into
like
the
modules
we
used
and
all
of
that
stuff,
so
I'm
hoping
to
have
some
good
content
here
in
the
next
few
weeks,
which
will
be
great
for
the
blog
on
vectrex
and
a
sword.
So
I
also
know
we
have
a
community
spotlight
series
where
tom
has
been
interviewing
members
of
the
backdrop
community
to
kind
of
highlight
them
in
their
involvement.
A
A
Letting
us
know
like
what
information
would
be
useful
to
you
and
we
can
probably
find
someone
in
the
community
who
can
write
that
too.
So
I
don't
know
mark.
If
you
have
any
thoughts
about
like
what
you
would
love
to
see.
More
of
what
we
heard
from
our
survey
was
more
case
studies
kind
of
deeper
stuff,
so
I'm
hoping
to
come
up
some
of
that
content
to
meet
that
need,
but
I
would
encourage
anyone
else
to
do
the
same
newsletter.
A
So
we
talked
a
little
bit
about
how
our
next
one
will
be
related
to
the
release
of
backtrack.
One
nine
one
followed,
hopefully
by
one
about
Conservancy.
After
that,
we
have
a
little
bit
of
a
gap.
Look,
we
don't
have
anything
lined
up,
but
there
are
a
bunch
we
are
at
the
beginning
of
Drupal
Camp
season,
so
it
could
be
fun
to
do
a
Drupal
camp
recap.
A
I
know
we're
gonna
have
gerbil
cam
Florida's
next
week,
and
then
we
have
sand
camp
and
mid
camp
and
Drupal
Camp
Utah
all
coming
up
as
well,
so
anyone
who's
attending
any
of
those
camps.
If
you
hear
anything
about
backdrop,
if
you
hear
anything
really
interesting
just
about
web
film
in
general,
whether
it's
Drupal
or
dr.
four,
otherwise,
it
would
be
good
to
include
write-ups
from
those
from
anyone
who's
attending.
A
A
Videos
I
think
we
have
a
list.
In
our
backdrop,
semester
org
issue
queue
number
130
of
things
that
people
might
want
to
see
as
part
of
videos
and
I
know
that
Lehren
has
started,
creating
some
really
great
tutorial
videos.
We've
created
a
specific
YouTube
channel
to
highlight
those
as
they
come
out,
so
they
don't
have
to
come
from
backdrop
itself
will
curate
once
other
people
create
into
a
list.
The
backdrop
manages
so
that
anyone
can
find
them
and
access
them
in
a
easier
to
digest
manner
than
googling
for
them.
A
But
again
it
would
be
great
to
know
what
it
is
that
people
want
to
see
in
in
those
in
the
videos.
So
if
there's
something
that
you're
struggling
with
or
conceptually
having
a
hard
time
with,
we
would
love
to
notice
that
we
can
make
those
videos
I,
think
one
thing
that
we've
heard
over
and
over
again
the
biggest
difference
between
backdrop
and
Drupal.
Conceptually
is
figuring
out
how
layouts
are
different
in
backdrop
than
they
were.
A
Then
the
system
in
gerbil
and
Larenz
started
a
bunch
of
great
videos
on
the
layout
system,
but
anyone
who
has
any
I
think
actual
use
cases
of
how
they're
done
would
also
be
really
valuable,
just
a
quick
kind
of
browse
through
how
different
sites
solve
problems
with
layouts,
and
so
that
might
be
some
some
good
information
to
drop
into
videos
as
well.
Anything
else,
though,
we
have
an
issue
in
the
queue.
A
There's
a
section
on
our
website
called
buck.
Jeff
mentions
where
we
try
and
aggravate
articles
that
people
have
written
about
backdrop,
and
so
I
added
a
section
to
our
outreach
agenda
to
include
stuff
like
that
here
too,
so
that
if
we
have
places
where
we
want
backdrop
to
appear,
we
can
do
a
little
bit
more
outreach
ahead
of
time.
It's
a
hey.
Looking.
Can
you
write
a
blog
post
about
this
or
swapping
information
sharing
for
different
places
and
I
know
because
deed
of
just
added
backdrops
support?
A
They
are
interested
in
doing
some
co-branding
around
out
writing
some
kind
of
article
about
DITA
of
explaining
what
it
is
to
our
people
and
they
might
write
an
article
to
their
people
that
they
not
support
backdrop
which
might
help
get
people
who
maybe
haven't
heard
about
job
who
have
heard
of
data
to
discover
it,
so
that
could
be
good
for
both
those
communities.
I
also
recently
started
talking
to
the
folks
at
fastly,
which
is
a
content
delivery
network
about
sponsoring
backdrop
up
and
they're
completely
willing
to
do
that
and
part
of
that
sponsorship.
A
Because
backdrop
1-9
is
coming
out
next
week,
there's
also
or
1/9.
One
will
also
be
pushing
the
new
version
of
actor
up
to
Pantheon
I
think
there's
some
opportunities
there
for
a
little
bit
more
noise
around
getting
people
to
adopt
the
latest
version.
So
if
anyone
has
any
ideas
about
how
we
can
promote
that
a
little
better
and
open
to
hearing
about
that
as
well,
anyone
we
should
contact
or
anything.
A
Let
us
know
and
then
events.
Obviously
we
share
news
about
backdrop
to
Drupal
people
at
Drupal
events
to
rut,
general
web
developers
at
general
web
developer,
heads
upcoming.
We
have
triple
camp
Florida
next
week,
followed
by
as
mentioned
before,
mid
camps
and
camp
and
Drupal
Camp
Utah.
All
in
the
next
two
months.
B
B
B
Let's
see
some
people
said
that
the
installation
is
one
of
the
most
difficult
profit
than
one
of
the
most
difficult
problems.
I
think
Drupal
is
in
a
worse
position
than
we
are
there,
but
because
of
the
Symphony
versus
not
Symphony
versus
partial
Symphony
versus
completely
Symphony
situation,
but
something
I've
been
saying
to
back
that
up
as
well
as
that,
just
like
setting
up
a
lamp
stack
or
ma'am
stand
back
or
lamp
stack
or
whatever
it
is,
is
comparatively
rather
difficult
to
other
systems.
A
What
have
we
done
and
what
can
we
do
better
and
we
could
also
post
a
similar
tweets,
our
community
to
and
say,
we've
made
a
lot
of
progress.
Look.
Can
we
do
better
and
see
what
the
biggest
pain
points
are?
I
mean
I.
Think
like
we
heard
something
from
our
survey,
but
we
might
hear
more
just
from
a
kind
of
freeform
Twitter
thing
where
it's
like.
What's
your
biggest
complaint
and
hear
what
people
have
to
say,
uh-huh.
A
Well,
if
there's
no
further
thoughts.
A
We
can
go
ahead
and
wrap
this
meeting,
and
then
we
will
reconvene
in
about
half
an
hour
to
talk
about
active
development
tasks
for
max
web
CMS
and
again.
If
anyone
is
interested
in
helping
us
write,
any
of
these
blog
posts
create
any
videos
draft
any
newsletters
or
make
any
updates
to
our
website.
We're
always
looking
for
volunteers,
and
you
don't
necessarily
have
to
have
any
technical
or
coding
skills
to
do
any
of
those
things.
A
So
definitely
let
us
know
you
can
reach
out
to
us
in
the
get
er
chat
channel
via
Twitter
via
contact
form
on
the
website,
however,
is
most
useful
if
issue
Q
is
the
place
where
we
track
most
things,
but
it's
also
very
developer
friendly,
not
very
non
developers
least
fo.
Any
of
those
other
options
also
work.
Outreach
is
definitely
something
developers
are
not
notoriously
good
at
so
we
can
use
all
hope.
We
can
get
ideas
or
walk
on
this
bone.
That's
actually
helping
us
get
things
done.
So
that's
the
pitch
thanks
for
watching.
