From YouTube: Backdrop Outreach - 2021/06/24
Description
Only two folks showed up for this meeting, so we had an informal conversation and then recorded a short summary of what we talked about.
A
A
A
Robert
I'll
just
start,
my
name
is
tim
erickson,
I'm
in
deerwood,
minnesota
and
yeah.
I'm
mostly
here
to
talk
about
backdrop
live
today,
although
we
have
a
couple
of
interesting
other
thoughts
that
we'll
talk
about
robert
go
ahead.
B
I'm
robert
lang
bud
folder
on
the
internet,
I'm
in
altogether
california-
and
I
offer
my
preemptive
apologies
for
the
camera
angles,
my
face
on
cameras
on
the
fritz,
so
I'm
afraid
you'll
have
to
look
at
me
in
profile.
A
Okay,
so,
as
often
happens
with
only
two
of
us
showing
up
robert
and
I
had
some
discussions
before
the
recording
started
and
given
the
the
current
discussion
and
request
about
recording
meetings,
it
occurred
to
us
that
we
should
try
to
capture
some
of
this
on
video,
so
we're
going
to
do
a
kind
of
a
short
recording
today
that
I
think
is
primarily
just
a
summary
of
what
we've
talked
about
already
and
adding
a
little
bit
of
updates
about
backdrop
live
and
who
knows
robert
we've
got.
A
You
know
we
could
go
15
minutes
before
the
next
meeting
if
we
want,
but
we
don't
have
to.
I
think-
and
let's
just
do
this
informally,
the
the
main
thing
that
we
that
robert
and
I
were
talking
about
that
kind
of
fits
into
outreach,
but
could
also
be
a
dev
issue.
That's
worth
talking
about
is
robert
and
I
have
been
collaborating
a
little
bit
on
some
contrib
projects
and
I
was
observing
that
one
going
into
becoming
a
contrib,
a
contributor
in
a
contrib
space
or
a
maintainer
in
the
control
space.
A
Is
there
a
practical
way,
and
I
think
we
talked
about
a
couple
of
quick
ideas,
the
first
of
which
was
just
an
opt-in
system
where
somebody
could
sort
of
sign
up
and
say
you
know.
These
are
the
modules
I
use
and
these
are
and
I'm
willing
to
be
contacted
by
a
maintainer
if
they
need
input
or
feedback.
A
And
then,
then
we
started
talking
about
how
you
know
how
we
might
do
something
like
dashboard
notifications
on
the
modules
page,
where
maybe
each
module
had
sort
of
a
a
dashboard
notification
that
there
could
be
a
note
saying
the
module
or
the
maintainer
is
looking
for
input
on
x
and
a
link
to
an
issue
or
something,
and
where
sort
of
my
final
idea
that
I
thought
might
make,
the
most
sense
was
just
having
even
a
like
an
alert
button
that
a
user
next
to
a
module.
A
That
would
indicate
that
there's
some
issue,
that
the
maintainer
wants
feedback
on
and
and
and
give
the
user
the
option
to
sort
of
click
through
it
and
read
something
and
get
up.
So
as
a
maintainer,
I
could
create
an
issue
asking
for
feedback
on
on
something
in
particular,
and
then
I
could
put
an
alert
on
the
module
page
and
anybody
who
clicked
on
that
alert
would
just
go
to
my
github
page
and
read
the
content
of
it.
A
B
This
might
be
wrapped
up
in
the
mechanism
whereby
a
website
polls
github
to
see
if
there's
a
new
update,
available
and-
and
so
it
could
also
poll
to
see
if
there
is
a
notification
alert
available,
and
so
it
could
come
within
that
mechanism
doesn't
expose
anymore
any
more
data
than
was
being
exposed,
but
but
just
adds
essentially
one
more
type
of
notification
that
there's
something
relevant
and
then
the
person
could
click
if
they
want
to
follow
it
up.
A
I
think
the
key
here
is
we're
looking
for
some
sort
of
an
opt-in
system,
where
you
know
module
maintainers
are
able
to
reach
out
in
an
opt-in
way
to
users
of
a
particular
module,
without
obviously
violating
any
kind
of
privacy
concerns,
and
these
ideas
seem
to
address
those
things
I
don't
know
like
if
people
would
use
them
or
how
effective
they
would
be,
but
I
I
have
a
feeling
there
would
be-
I
mean
I'm
guessing.
It
would
be
a
small
percentage
of
users
that
would
actually
respond
to
those
there's.
A
Just
oh,
you
know,
once
a
website
is
built,
a
lot
of
people
don't
go
to
the
module
page
very
often,
so
it
isn't
like
it's
going
to
make
a
dramatic
impact
right
away,
but
even
if
it
just
reaches
a
few
people,
I
think
it
could
be
really
helpful
yeah.
So
we
talked
that
was
the
big
thing
we
talked
about.
We
also
talked
a
little
bit
about.
A
We
got
roberts,
we
talked
a
little
bit
about
backdrop,
live
was
it,
but
before
we
get
into
backdrop,
live
was
there
anything
else
in
our
pre-meeting
discussion
that
that
that
we
want
to
mention
here.
A
No,
I
mean
we
just
talked
about
some
personal
stuff,
how
we're
doing-
and
we
talked
a
little
bit
about
some
issues
that
that
robert
and
I
are
dealing
with
in
the
issue-
queue
but
they're,
really
not
appropriately
hero,
pretty
focused
and
not
appropriate.
For
this
meeting.
I'll
just
say
that,
basically,
where
robert
and
I
have
been
collaborating
is
on
the
views,
bootstrap
module
and
the
bootstrap
lite
theme
and
if
you're
interested
in
either
those
topics
go
to
the
issue
queues
and
what
we
talked
about
today
is
in
the
issue
queues
there.
A
Let's
talk
about
backdrop
live
and
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
share
my
screen
again,
robert,
because
I
think
we
might
as
well
show
the
schedule
and
how
it's
flashing
flushing
out
so
backdrop
live,
is
in
just
a
couple
two
is
it?
A
Is
it
two
weeks
yeah?
I
bet
it's
two
weeks,
it's
july,
9th
and
10th.
A
So
I
think
that's
just
two
weeks
from
now
from
tomorrow
we
only
have
a
handful
of
registrations.
However,
we
haven't
been
promoting
this
very
hard.
People
usually
register
towards
the
end.
I
think
we're
facing
the
challenge
this
time
and
that
the
end
is
in
the
us
right
around
the
4th
of
july.
A
I
know
I've
talked
to
a
number
of
people
in
our
community
that
are,
ours,
have
vacation
plans,
and
so
we
might
not
see
the
last
minute
surge
that
we
sometimes
do
because
of
that.
But
I
think
we've
also
decided
that
we're
committed
to
going
ahead
with
the
event
and
and
doing
it
with
whoever
shows
up
and
and
so
we'll
just
see
how
that
goes.
A
I'm
gonna
share
my
screen,
quick
and-
and
I
please
everybody
help
us
get
the
word
out,
and
you
know
the
more
people
we
do
get
the
better,
but
we
have
a
number
of
discussions
scheduled
that
are
really
internal
discussions.
That
would
benefit
even
if
there's
only
three
or
four
people
there.
So
this
is
what
ours.
A
This
is
the
the
excel
or
the
the
the
google
event
or
google
sheet
that
we're
using
as
a
schedule,
and
what
this
does
is
show
that
the
various
blocks
of
slots
we
have
the
individual
time
slots
and
when
what
time?
Each
of
these
times,
these
sessions
or
time
slots
are
in
various
time
zones.
B
A
Ideas
on
how
to
improve
this,
please
let
us
know,
we've
got
a
handful
of
things
scheduled
in
here.
This
is
really
an
unconference,
and
anybody
that
has
a
topic
they
want
to
talk
about,
can
drop
it
on.
Here
I
have,
for
example,
we
have
a
couple
of
of
topics
that
are
like
intro,
porting,
drupal,
7
modules
to
backdrop
or
contributing
code
or
the
layout
system.
A
These
are
meant
to
be
sort
of
instructional
discussions,
but
we
also
have
discussions
on
things
like
the
telemetry
initiative
or
bootstrap
345
tools
and
plans
that
are
primarily
intended
to
be
an
opportunity
for
folks
who
are
interested
in
specifically
aspects
of
core
or
to
trip
to
just
get
together
and
talk
about
it
to
plan
it
out.
A
There's
a
lot
of
interest
in
getting
the
references
module
in
core,
and
I
anticipate
seeing
that
as
a
topic
here
and
it
you
know
it
won't
be
anyone
teaching
about
the
references
module,
it's
going
to
be
a
discussion
about
how
do
we
make
this
happen?
So
if
you
have
things
that
you
want
to
talk
about
for
backdrop
live,
I
will
post
this
link
the
link
to
this
spreadsheet.
A
You
can
either
register
for
backdrop,
live
and
and
in
the
registration
process
it
asks
you
what
you
want
to
talk
about,
or
you
could
actually
come
right
to
this
spreadsheet.
If
you
just
ask
for
the
link
in
zulu
and
we'll-
or
I
think
the
links
to
this
should
be
on
the
website,
if
it's
not
I'll,
try
to
get
it
there,
so
that's
sort
of
where
we
are
in
terms
of
planning
sessions.
A
This
schedule
will
fill
out
a
bit
more
in
the
next.
You
know
week,
I
hope
before
the
fourth
of
july,
and
then
people
will
be
able
to
see
that
other
than
that.
Well,
robert
anything
to
add
yeah.
I
think
we
covered
it,
okay,
other
than
that
we're
kind
of
following
on
the
momentum
from
previous
backdrop,
lives.
I
know
a
lot
of
the
people
that
have
been
instrumental
in
planning.
These
are
very
busy
right
now,
and
so
there
isn't
a
lot
of
updates.
We
did.
A
A
Here
we
go,
this
is
the
website
and
we
got
the
whole
registration
process
working.
There
have
been
a
few
bugs
and
typos
that
people
have
reported.
We've
got
them
up
to
date.
We
don't
have
like
nodes
or
sessions
in
this
website
yet,
but
this
will
be
if
you're,
if
you
want
to
register
for
backdrop,
live
come
here
and
register,
you
will
be
asked
to
log
in
and
create
an
account
in
the
site
which
is
necessary
and
helpful
and
other
than
that.
It's
a
pretty
simple
process.
A
A
I
think
that
has
been
the
main
work.
That's
happened
is
just
getting
the
website
up
to
date.
Please
help
us
spread
the
word
and
please
help
us
fill
out
that
schedule
suggest
topics.
You
do
not
need
to
have
a
prepared
presentation
if
you
want
to
do
a
prepared
presentation,
we're
encouraging
folks
to
record
them
in
advance
and
use
the
time
during
backdrop
live
as
a
discussion
as
much
as
possible.
Although
you
know
in
sessions
like
the
layout
system,
I've
done
this
in
backdrop.
A
Live
before
I'll,
do
it
again
and
we
will
have
a
live
demo
and
we'll
look
at
the
actual
layout
system
and
talk
about
it,
but
it's
really.
These
are
intended
to
be
discussions
and
opportunities
for
people
to
ask
questions
and
and
share
their
experiences.
So
you
don't
need.
If
you
wanted
to
talk
about
views
and
background,
you
don't
need
to
like
prepare
a
big
presentation.
A
A
So
the
the
weekly
dev
meeting
is
coming
up
soon
with
just
the
two
of
us
robert.
Do
we
have
anything
else
to
talk
about
marketing-wise.
A
Okay,
well
robert
thanks
for
keeping
me
company,
so
I
wasn't
here
alone.
I
think
we're
gonna
go
ahead
and
wrap
up
this
recording
and
we'll
see
everybody
at
backdrop
live,
and
hopefully
there
will
be
a
weekly
dove
meeting
here
in
five
minutes.
