All right so we're just gonna, do a quick rundown of the agenda for backdrop, outreach tests, it's currently November third pray.

We have a lot of outreach stuff to do, um but news for this week, um I that's relevant last week, clonise did a presentation in drupal, south in australia and after his session he met up with someone who was particularly interested in helping advise us on outreach and kind of big picture goals for backdrop, which is something we're just really in need of, but um we haven't quite figured out how to integrate this person into our workflow, because they're, usually someone who does a lot of like in-person meetings um and we don't have like meetings or anything in any way.

That would normally be helpful. So we have to try and figure out how like? Can we get them in an issue queue like how do we involve them in um in our usual process, but in general they sound super convinced by the philosophy of backdrop really moved by the product and their goals in particular, to try and get back job in front of people in schools to be an education tool for teaching people.

How to make websites just kind of in line with what we'd, like you know it to be for um the average person rather than you know the college developer. Whatever else is out there um and so I think will be great to get them involved.

We just need to figure out how so we're working on that trying to figure out what good jobs would be for them and how to get advice from someone in Australia, which is also um I, think exciting, because colonas isn't Australia, so we've got kind of a little community forming down there as well. um So that's the only news I have this week me actually um had a chat with this person. Yesterday, I wasn't involved so I, don't really know what happened, but maybe we can get need to talk about in the developer meeting.

um He can't be here today for this one, but West did you want to talk about some things? We learned it back in yeah.

Sure so yeah I think I can't remember who all was talking about it. I know, I talked about, they don't know if he was in the same I thought I know: Mike was we're getting into more more articles or content around real world implementations are like, so you know if you're a studio of exercise and you're building a lot of little sites. You know, but what would be a good workflow for you or how might you do that or like?

How would you integrate a style guide with backdrop or notes, ass or whatever that kind of stuff? So I was interested in doing kind of the front ND stuff. My dog is barking.

Style guide, stuff I wanted to see if I could get an interesting implementation down and then do like a video article or something around that and then also doing a project with some people from girl develop it here in Columbus. We're building a non profits website with backdrop and people are going to learn some web development as their building and so I'm learning a lot about cala box and Pantheon and how backdrop works with those and I thought.

That might also be a good article, because, especially since I'm focusing on people who aren't as technically inclined yet and how how to make that process easy for them. So that's.

Great um I would love to see those documents. However, they end up coming out. um Just be you know, just in the world will help everyone. So that's great.

Another thing, I Mike mentioned too, is that it would be great if we could have some other different session options for backdrop, we've kind of been talking about the philosophy for two years or so, which I think is in Orton, but people heard it um and I think would be great if we could do a little bit more kind of show and tell about what's out there with just and of course get easier, the more as the more more things get out there, but people were really interested in seeing like what what it's done, rather than why it exists, and so I think having another session.

That is, um you know either a high level case study or a low level deep dive into some of those implementation. Implementation details would be really useful too. So I've added that to the list as well to try and do more case studies or more examples of things story already done.

um Okay, other things we have to work on for outreach. The newsletter needs to go out. I have a draft I'm working on today at that links to the images that are in the blog post, that's underway for backdrop 1.5. So we can include some of the same animated gifs of new features that are in there um speaking of blog posts that 15 blog post needs to come out too soon, Nate wrote the whole thing and then I Firefox ate his post before you'd hit save. So he was really grumpy about that.

So now we have like a half written one where he's like this is where I said something about whatever so he's gonna go back and put the word second, but that hopefully should come out and the next day or two as well, um and then I also created an mentioned in an issue today that we should write up a blog post about God camp and it looks like um Jim birch is willing to write that blog post, but he needs talking points from all the people who attended to all the backdrop things so I thought it would be great if we could put a kind of a bullet list of like here's.

What I want to mention. If anyone else wants to write on it would be, you know perfectly find out more than one person, but since we usually have a shortage of people with time and the ability to do it, I figured since Jim volunteered. We could all kind of say this is what I think is the most important thing.

We should mention and that'll kind of turn into a nice blog post where he can say he was there, and this is what happened, and this is what people got out of it and it's a good way to kind of collaborate on a blog post recorded important talking points in it, um so those should be coming up fairly soon um under videos.

I haven't talked to Brian recently about we've working on for videos, but he did a presentation at bad camp on kind of how his competitive deciding amusing backdrop and I would love to see um something.

As well as you wanted to get kind of more technical into show and tell Estelle stuff as well so we'll see from what he's working on and if any of that's ready, we ordered new t-shirts for a bad camp. We have t-shirts in all various sizes now that we got the black well darker gray, ones with a backdrop logo on them instead of the white once with a dragon. um So if you want a gray shirt, so a white shirt, that's not an option and we are running really low.

On hoodies, you ran out of large extra large and 2xl. um So now we have lots or smalls and mediums, but we did also find a lot of money in the backdrop square account that we can use to purchase more hoodies.

So we were really worried about not having enough money to be able to buy t-shirts and hoodies for bet bad camp, but now we have enough money to buy idiots. In addition, so and I do have an estimate from the print vendor and we should be getting those shortly so I know. Some of you are just really waiting for your large size studies. You can have them soon um under advertising. We haven't quite figured out how to do advertising where to do advertising.

What we should do with advertising, how much we should spend if we have a budget all that sort of stuff. But if we had someone who was really interested in working up a schedule and following our advertising that would be fantastic offense, we obviously attend a lot of events.

um Bad camp with most recent 1i went pretty well ah next on a calendar is the nonprofit software development summit, which I think is not next week, but the week after um and I, don't know what's on schedule after that, but we are heading right into holiday season, so I'm expecting there's, probably not going to be much until next year. What should be good now focus on backdrop 16 or a while, um but yeah.

If anyone has any events that they're wanting to promote to the backdrop audience, you can create an event on the website under the events section um to notify people about it, we have a lot of things we want to do to the website to help improve our outreach. The showcase section is almost done. We have nodes and styles, we need a view. um We are working on optimizing the site for search I'm, not sure we're actually working on that. We should be working on that.

We want to add more content about our culture here in backdrop land. We want to continue to flush out the support section. We've got a fantastic documentation section that should be ready any day and then after documentation is up, we will change gears to set up a forum, we're also training at single sign-on with github, so people who own a project on github can have additional access, unpack drop, seamless, web org, um and we also have some ideas about potential Erie, architecting, the site and I.

Think that might go along with um trying to figure out how to rework our sidebar and drawer. We've got this fancy new jack down menu in core and I would love to see um get using that on our site, we're having some issues currently with mobile navigation, I!

Think if we can switch to using the new menu um in horror, everything will get a little better, so I think if we can figure out how to do that, we can also kind of figure out which top-level items should be in the menu, maybe intelligent, ways to group them and we've grown a lot since we initially envisioned the site. We throw links everywhere like and footer, um and it might be good to get a kind of a focus on our handbook and that stuff as well to make sure it kind of reads clearly.

Less you set up these amazing analytics dashboards. Recently, I actually haven't looked at them in a while. um Maybe we can use some of the information we're gathering there to inform re, architecting, menus and stuff on the site, so um that would be great to to kind of take an upir in it all that when we get started there, yeah.

The dashboard won't be do a whole lot will want to actually look at the G a bit. Ok, I can take a gander. All.

Right, it sounds great. um That's all I had four days there anything else you want to add to this chat. We should talk about for our reach. I.

Have a new GA view: I don't affect us guys. Basically, when you're using google analytics, you should have an unfiltered view that you never touch and then you can have as many filtered views as you want. So I just made our first filter view. It's been over a month, so I'm going to start switching over like the dashboard to that and some other things and right now. It's the only thing. That's really filtering out is search pots but known search box. So will our analytics be a little more accurate?

Right well, I know Neil wanted to attend this meeting he's not here. They probably had something else. Come on I'm gonna, shoot him an email and see if there was anything in particular he wanted to address. um But if not, we will reconvene in two weeks.
