From YouTube: Backdrop Weekly Nov 2nd
Description
Today’s development agenda: http://bit.ly/2yMPeGO
A
All
right,
happy,
November,
2nd
everybody
Eddie.
This
is
a
mean
to
check
in
on
active
development
tasks
for
backdrops
EMS.
We
have
a
couple
of
exciting
announcements
for
community
growth.
This
week
we
have
a
new
member
of
the
contribute.
Okie
who
submitted
a
application
of
us
a
couple
weeks
ago
has
agreed
to
our
Terms,
&,
Conditions,
and
so
now
he's
been
added
to
the
group
in
is
moving
over
kinship
modules.
A
So
that's
great
I'll
be
with
someone
when
it
started
as
a
core
developer
and
nothing
didn't
true,
but
just
something
actually
finding
increasingly
common
in
backdrop,
which
is
great
speaking
of
people
are
starting
as
core
developers.
We
also
have
a
new
contributor.
This
week's
we
want
to
specifically
send
a
shout
out
to
Ana
colada
for
Cora
pull
requests
in
the
queue
as
well.
So
thank
you
guys
very
much
for
helping
to
make
backdrop
better.
We
appreciate
your
time
and
code
new
systems.
A
B
A
To
tell
me
if
there's
anything
else
that
needs
to
be
adapted,
if
not
I'm,
just
gonna
plan
on
doing
that
in
hoping
that
that
works
out
okay,
we
can
at
least
later
but
I'd
love
to
just
get
it
up.
So
I'm,
also
hoping
that
the
design
that
we're
gonna
do
for
the
showcase
section
of
the
site
can
be
reused
off
from
the
themes
section
of
the
site.
A
Success
was
originally
intended
for
and
then
it
was
adapted
for
showcase,
so
hopefully
we'll
get
some
support
for
screenshots
on
feeds
and
then
we'll
be
able
to
pull
this
into
the
backdrop
site
and
use
this
design
there
as
well.
Okay,
other
things
that
are
going
on
in
the
world
of
backdrop,
doc
Lamont
has
devoted
a
ton
of
time
to
working
on
the
forum.
So
thank
you
very
much
for
doing
that.
I
am
so
excited
to
see
all
of
the
activity
in
the
forum
issue
queue.
A
Not
only
is
he
going
through
the
list
of
like
minimum
viable
product
requirements
he's
also
going
through
the
longer
list
of
like
this
is
what
making
awesome
forum
requirements
so
I'm
really
excited
about
getting
that
forum
to
a
usable
State.
We've
also
had
a
couple
of
requests
lately
via
the
email
address
on
Doctor
of
CMS
to
org.
The
people
are
asking
about
how
to
use
the
forum
or
where
is
the
forum
or
when
can
I
use
the
forum
and
having
that
usable
I
think
it's
going
to
be
really
great
for
our
community.
A
So,
during
our
outreach
meeting
earlier
today,
we
talked
about
how
that
might
be
a
great
topic
for
the
next
newsletter.
We
should
send
our
numbers
and
that
newsletter
is
tentatively
scheduled
for
November
15th,
so
I
wanted
to
run
that
by
doc,
Walmart
and
see.
If
that
timeline
is
realistic
or
not,
and
if
so
I
think
we
can
I
would
love
to
promote
all
of
the
fantastic
work
he's
been
doing
over
there.
So
anyone
who's
curious
about
the
forum
definitely
can
go
ahead
and
log
in
I
know
I.
Think
Jeff.
A
C
So
I
was
commenting
before
the
meeting
started
that
were
abouts
like
this.
This
hasn't
been
a
very
exciting
week
as
far
our
target
items
go
that
we,
you
should
bring
up
on
the
agenda
for
one
point,
eight
point
one
that
will
be
our
next
bug
fix
release
right
now.
The
items
that
we
have
mentioned
here
for
the
one
point
eight
one
release
include
a
bunch
of
crafts
ports
all
four
of
these
issues
that
include
a
series
of
cross
ports
from
triple
7.50
up
to
7.56.
C
C
So
we're
looking
really
good
on
you
know
getting
the
parity
between
these
things
completed,
there's
actually
code
in
place
for
pretty
much
everything,
but
it's
just
needs
a
little
bit
more
cleanup
like
the
tests,
aren't
fully
passing
or
every
now,
and
then
there's
just
a
little
finder
place
like
Drupal
into
backdrop
kind
of
situation.
So
all
those
crosswords
are
in
a
good
place,
but
we
haven't
seen
any
activity
of
them
in
the
past
week
to
actually
push
them
forward
to
completion
1.81.
C
As
far
as
its
schedule
is
concerned,
we
still
don't
have
any
critical
things
to
initiate
a
bug-fix
release.
There
are
a
number
of
small
items
that
have
been
filed
as
well
as
some
new
pull
requests
that
have
come
in
I
guess.
I
should
give
a
shout
thanks:
John
Franklin,
for
a
series
of
poor
requests
that
are
currently
all
in
the
needs
review
state.
Those
are
currently
the
ones
that
we'll
probably
be
taking
a
look
at
here
and
they
air
in
near
future,
but
nothing
for
1.81
that
would
initiate
a
release.
C
C
So
one
point
nine
one
point:
nine
is
the
next
minor
release
which
will
be
coming
out:
January,
fifteenth,
2018,
so
first
release
of
next
year
and
right
now,
all
most
of
our
attention
is
being
put
forward
towards
better,
better
media
handling
or
particular
better
file
handling
and
there's
a
big
med
issue
for
that
at
issue.
1448
that
lists
out
all
of
the
things
that
we
would
like
to
do
to
improve
the
file
handling
capabilities.
C
C
Even
trying
to
describe
this
I'm
running
into
the
perennial
issue
of
the
terminology
around
what
we
should
use
here
and
I
think
that,
like
we
still
have
to
have
more
discussion
over
what
term
is
the
right
one
when
we
say
like
you're,
editing
a
file
entity,
but
not
the
file
itself
like
what?
How
should
we
deal
with
that
particular
problem?
C
So
feedback
is
definitely
very
very
welcome
on
that
issue.
27
96
code,
wise.
The
only
thing
we
really
have
to
do
is
we
need
to
add
an
upgrade
path
to
edit
the
view
to
add
the
edit
link
or
whatever
link
that
thing
will
be
labeled,
let's
see
after
making
files
editable,
we
may
also
make
them
feel
double,
which
is
which
is
issued.
26:32
I
reviewed
this
pull
request
last
week,
even
though
it
still
needs
work.
I
gave
it
kind
of
some
more
extensive
thoughts
on
that
particular
issue.
C
C
C
We
could
just
put
in
a
height
and
width
on
the
managed
file
table
instead,
and
that
would
make
our
implementation
on
it
simpler
and
just
as
you
upload
your
file.
So
it
would
just
record
that
information
and
then,
if
there
was
other
metadata
which
it
looks
like
that
module
was
intended
to
be
expanded
upon
and
like
split
that
out
into
a
different
into
it
into
a
control.
C
So
anyway,
that
poor
request,
basically
he's
just
got
a
lot
going
on
and
probably
could
just
be
reduced
down
in
its
complexity,
to
really
focus
it
on
dealing
with
having
filled
of
bull
files
and
not
so
much
about
metadata
around
files
when
they're
uploaded
yeah.
So
just
some
thoughts
on
that
one.
But
overall
it's
a
really
great
port,
like
it's
done.
A
really
great
job
of
taking
the
file
in
AD
montreux
from
Drupal
7
and
making
it
fully
compatible
with
backdrop.
C
And
lastly,
uploading
a
file
manually
is
issued
26:33
this
one
gem
did
some
work
on
it
before
1.8
was
released.
I
think
everyone's
in
agreement
that
that
code
is
is,
is
also
kind
of
more
complex.
That
needs
to
be
kind
of
the
same
situation.
It's
a
good
port
from
file
in
any
module,
but
for
coarse
implementation.
We
may
want
something
just
a
little
bit
more
straightforward,
so
with
that
one
will
probably
hold
off
on
until
27.
96
is
complete.
That
gives
us
the
forum
for
editing
a
file.
C
Those
are
the
items
that
we
have
slamming.
What's
that
Jen,
we
last
you
dick
for
a
little
bit.
Oh
sorry!
Well,
those
are
the
only
items
that
we
have
slated
for
1.9
of
a
coma
during
these
meetings.
There's
a
middle
of
code,
although
there
has
been
some
new
feedback
posted
last
week.
You
know,
let's
keep
cracking
on
these
things
and
the
sooner
the
better
it
may
seem
like
January's
is
a
long
way
off
here
at
the
beginning
of
November,
historically
also
I
know
holidays.
C
Typically
is
when
work
slows
down
for
anything
that
his
client
related
by
Allah
days
can
be
a
strangely
active
time
in
a
community
different
project,
so
I'm
not
putting
pressure
on
anybody
to
work
over
the
holidays.
I'm
just
saying
I'm
excited
to
see
what
will
end
up
happening
or
what
will
come
out
of
the
holiday
season
because
we
tend
to
have.
We
do
tend
to
have
people
that,
in
their
spare
time,
enjoy
working
on
backdrop,
so
I'm
excited
going
into
the
holiday
season
is
actually
a
really
positive
thing
for
the
backs
opportunity.
So.
C
Freeze,
so
for
in
this
case
it
looks
like
January
1st
actually
will
actually
stay
our
code
freeze.
We
won't
be
pushing
it
out
any
any
difference
based
on
the
landing
of
holidays
or
anything
like
that.
So
anyway,
that's
it
for
the
1.9
status,
update
and
the
backdrop
project
and
code
in
general
I'll.
Kick
it
back
to
you,
Chen
for
general
discussion
and
Q&A.
A
Okay,
so
last
week,
in
our
meeting
with
Fassett,
we
were
trying
to
come
up
with
possible
contents
for
a
newsletter,
and
in
in
that
conversation
we
were
trying
to
figure
out
whether
the
people
on
the
newsletter
were
mostly
people
who
are
curious
about
backdrop
or
people
are
using
backdrop
or
people
who
are
just
kind
of
interested
in
following
along
with
all
all
the
drama,
and
since
we
don't
really
know
the
makeup
of
our
newsletter,
one
of
the
things
they
recommended
we
do
is
send
out
a
survey,
and
that
might
help
us
get
a
better
idea
of
who's
on
that
list
and
what
they
want
to
hear
from
us,
and
so
they
recommended
that
we
come
up
with
five
questions
that
we
could
ask
people
that
we
think
will
be
valuable
for
the
backdrop
you
know
what
would
be
valuable
for
us
in
terms
of
what
the
work
that
we're
doing
so
in
terms
of
you
know,
what
do
you
want
to
see
on
our
website
or
what
do
you
need
from
the
forum?
A
Or
what
do
you
need
from
the
software?
Those
might
be
good
questions
to
ask
people.
So
I
came
out
with
two
questions.
Then
we
could
ask
one
of
which
I
thought
is
like
you
know.
Who
are
you
in
terms
of
do
own
a
website?
Are
you
a
developer?
Are
you
I,
don't
know
a
site
builder?
Are
you
a
theme
or
like
what
do
you?
Who
do
you
identify
with
in
terms
of
how
you
work
with
the
software
and
another?
One
would
be.
A
What
are
you
thinking
about
adopting
backdrop
and,
if
so
like
what
what's
preventing
you
from
adopting
it
right
now
and
so
I,
don't
know
exactly
how
to
ask
those
questions,
but
I
thought
it
might
be
something
that
we
can
at
least
come
up
with
ideas
on
like
whether
you
know
do
you
want
to
see
more
sites
on
backdrop.
Are
you
waiting
for
more
things
to
be
ported
from
Drupal?
Are
you
just
waiting
for
the
right
project
to
come
along
you've?
A
Already,
you
got
a
bunch
of
sites
and
you're
not
interested
moving
them
yet,
but
new
sites.
You
want
to
put
on
backdrop
or
are
you
unsure
about
like
the
difference
is
still
between
dribble
and
backdrop,
and
that
makes
you
hesitate
so
just
trying
to
figure
out
like
what
what
it
is
that
people
need
from
us
could
help
us
figure
out
what
to
deliver
in
terms
of
content
for
the
blogger,
the
newsletter
anything
else
so
I
didn't
know.
If
you
guys
had
ideas
about
things
we
might
want
to
ask
in
a
survey.
A
A
If
everybody
says
in
uniform,
the
next
letter
will
say:
guess
what
you
have
a
forum
really
nice
making
people
feel
like
their
voices
are
heard
so
yeah
it
does
anyone
have
any
thoughts
on
what
we
want
to
know
from
all
these
people
that
have
opted
into
our
mailing
list.
A
A
C
Probably
say
maybe
asking
people
like
when
they're
planning
on
launching
a
backrub
site
I'm,
not
sure,
if
that
actually,
that
would
just
be
useful
for
us
to
know
I'm,
not
sure,
if
how
to
help
us
deliver
content
like
I'm
planning
on
building
a
backdrop
site
in
the
next.
You
know
like
I'm
building
one
now
in
the
next
six
months
in
the
next
year.
A
Any
other
ideas
I'll
go
ahead
and
create
an
issue
on
backdrop
CMS
to
org
and
tag
it
with
outreach,
and
if
anyone
comes
up
with
anything
over
the
next
two
weeks
or
something
we
we
can
add,
those
questions
and
I
mean
I.
Think
even
if
it's
just
three
questions
put
follow-ups,
that's
fine!
We
can
work
with
that
too.
I.
B
B
C
A
A
Next,
on,
our
general
discussion
is
for
a
translation,
internationalization
I
think
this
is
probably
something
we
can
pull
off
the
weekly
newsletter
because
we've
talked
about
it
for
a
while.
The
plan
right
now
is
figuring
out,
which
issues
or
sub
modules
from
I
18
and
our
most
pressing
to
figure
out,
and
if
we
find
anything
that
we
think
should
be
fixed
in
backdrop,
core
will
then
create
a
core
issue
based
on
those
needs
as
well.
A
We've
got
the
backdrop
for
good
site
currently
being
translated,
which
is
one
thing
that
we
can
use
as
a
test
case
for
making
sure
that
we
get
translation
and
nationalization
cleaned
up
a
little
bit
for
Bach
child,
but
anyone
else
who's
working
on
translated
site.
Definitely,
please
participate
in
the
issue,
queue
both
for
in
18m
for
international
internationalization
kinship
project
as
well
as
for
core.
If
you
find
something
frustrating
and
for
you
wish
was
done
a
little
better.
We
that
is
one
of
our
priorities
for
improving.
A
But
if
that
should
change
or
if
I
don't
know
it
becomes
a
priority
in
the
next
few
weeks,
we
can
definitely
put
it
back
on
and
make
it
part
of
this
meeting
if
it
becomes
a
bigger
conversation
than
that,
we
should
definitely
make
it
some
meeting,
because
that's
it's
one
of
our
priority.
So
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
make
that
easier
for
people.
A
Okay,
well,
I
think
that's
everything
we
had
on
the
agenda,
but
if
they
were
sitting
here
guys
want
to
talk
about
that
wasn't
on
the
agenda
today.
Now
it's
a
good
time.
Okay,.
A
It's
nothing
super
urgent.
All
right,
well,
I
will
go
ahead
and
wrap
this
meeting.
Then
I
guess
I'll
create
the
issue
for
the
general
survey.
We
want
to
send
out
and
look
for
feedback
there.
Otherwise
I
would
say
if
anyone
has
any
questions
watching
this
video
now
we're
watching
it
later
feel
free
to
tweet.
At
fact,
I've
seen
mr.
A
Orrick
or
you
can
email
us
info
at
factor
up
CMS
to
org
or
you
can
join
us
and
get
er
or
there's
always
people
to
chat
live
and,
of
course
we
always
have
the
issue
queue
where
there's
always
exciting
stuff
going
on.
So
thank
