From YouTube: Backdrop CMS weekly 6/18
Description
Weekly check-in on Backdrop CMS development and infrastructure tasks.
A
Alright,
we
are
on
air,
it
is
Thursday
jun,
18,
I'm,
just
gonna,
do
a
little
quick
check-in
on
backdrop
tasks
thanks
for
working
on
for
the
code,
things
working
up
and
community
like
it's
jack
as
usual.
Our
first
general
announcement
is
that
we
still
have
free
phpstorm
licenses
for
pinch
of
developers.
So
if
you
are
working
on
backup
and
you're,
a
member
of
the
backdrop
contribute-
and
you
want
a
phpstorm
license-
send
an
email
to
info
@
backdrop,
CMS,
org
and
we'll
be
able
to
get
one
of
those
out
to
you.
A
If
you
are
working
on
back
dress-
and
you
are
not
yet
a
member
of
the
contribute
and
there's
definitely
a
plenty
of
ways
we
can
get.
You
involved
the
the
reason
that
phpstorm
wants
to
have
you,
as
a
member
of
that
contribute,
because
I
need
a
list
of
people
who
are
allowed
to
have
a
license.
So,
if
you're
working
on
a
module
go
ahead
and
put
it
in
the
group,
if
you
are
not
yet
working
on
module,
there
are
plenty
of
modules
that
need
maintain,
errs
if
you're
interested
in
becoming
a
maintainer
for
those
modules.
A
B
Yeah
sure
so
another
productive
week
in
the
land
of
backdrop
contribs,
we
did
not
add
a
new
contributed
office.
This
week,
we've
got
38
total
members
of
the
backdrop
kinship
group.
However,
in
the
last
week
they
made
two
new
projects,
so
we
are
now
up
to
128
contributed
projects
total,
which
is
very
exciting,
I
think
the
two
new
ones
actually
have
been
themes.
This
week,
I
know
doc.
B
Lamont
has
been
focused
on
porting,
more
themes
to
backdrop,
so
that
we
can
have
a
greater
variety
of
themes
available,
he's
also
working
on
a
project
browser
which
talk
about
later,
but
it's
great
to
see
new
themes
coming
in
and
if
you're,
a
new
developer
interested
in
doing
backdrops
left
themes
are
a
great
place
to
start.
You
can
just
take
your
favorite
theme
from
your
favorite
cmf.
B
That
is
also
GPL,
hopefully,
and
poured
it
over
to
backdrop
and
then
get
a
into
the
backdrop,
controller
budget
or
E,
and
we
love
that
I
think
he's
wanting
to
fleshed
out
a
little
bit.
So
that
looks
much
more
respectable
when
you
are
using
the
project
browser
which
we'll
talk
about
later.
Let's
see
also,
we
have
releases
on
backdrop:
CMS
org
or
projects
listed
directly
impact
on
CMS
org
now,
and
there
has
been
one
new
official
release
since
last
week,
making
one
new
project
on
vectrex
ems,
torg.
B
So
infrastructure
we
always
talk
about
the
things
with
a
round
backdrop
itself,
like
servers
and
services,
and
things
like
that
that
aren't
the
software
and
see
the
first
item
of
the
list
is
update.
Jacking
update
status
has
actually
been
in
place
for
like
a
month
now,
and
one
exciting
thing
is
that
we
made
a
new
release
of
backdrop
core
which
was
very
exciting,
and
so
everybody
hopefully,
should
have
seen
that
their
site
were
notifying
them,
that
they
had
a
new
update
and
not
just
any
update
by
the
new
security
update.
B
So
it
was
their
first
ever
security
update
with
update,
checking
actually
working
so
I'm.
Imagine
everybody
got
that
really
obnoxious
read
error
across
the
top
of
their
backdrop,
sites
now
saying
that
excite
had
the
security
problem,
but
it's
exciting
to
see
it
work,
even
though
the
delivery
mechanism.
This
is
somewhat
obnoxious.
B
Let's
see,
there's
still
an
issue
where,
when
we
make
projects
the
synchronization
between
github
and
pack,
shop,
schema.org
isn't
perfect,
but
it's
pretty
close
and
I'm
going
to
look
into
that
as
soon
as
I
get
the
chance,
but
that's
issue
70.
Anybody
would
like
to
about
with
that.
Oh
issue
70:
in
the
backdrop
CMS
org,
the
cheek
you
that
could
be
quite
handy.
Let's
see,
project
usage,
we
still
haven't
gotten
charged
up
thanks
for
just
kind
of
chilling
right
there
until
we
get
the
actual
project
listings
built
out.
B
Let's
see,
drush
for
backdrop,
I
haven't
seen
anything
recently
in
the
land
of
drush
Jeff.
Do
you
have
any
news
on
drush
integration?
It's.
B
A
B
Yes,
sir
josh
is
totally
possible
for
backdrop.
We
see
it
every
week,
but
josh
has
been
properly
abstract
it
so
that
we
can
use
brush
with
backdrop
it's
just
as
the
backdrop
integration
address
class
hasn't
been
written.
Yet
when
that's
completed,
we
are
planning
on
including
it
in
core,
we'll
see
how
everything
goes
as
that
progresses.
In
the
meantime,
it
will
probably
be
a
contribute
in
bine,
the
chords
rush
installation
plus
the
backdrop
integration
with
backdrop,
and
then
everything
will
come
together,
long-term
hoping
to
have
a
more
permanent
and
easy
solution.
B
That's
part
of
backdrop
itself
not
dress
up
but
integrates
with
josh
from
core.
Let's
see
the
primary
website
back
top
CMS
org
some
excitement
here
we
already
have
design
for
the
module
beam
layout
search
pages,
but
we
hadn't
had
a
design
for
the
actual
download,
a
module
theme.
Layout
pages
and
darius
delivered
a
new
new
design
just
yesterday
and
I'm
for
planning
on
having
a
meeting
later
today
to
talk
about
it,
it
looks
great
like
everything
Darius
does.
B
We
also
want
to
do
things
like,
like
a
showcase
search
for
service
providers,
a
job
application
thing
and
an
event
calendar
on
backdrops
DMSO
doors,
but
all
of
those
things
are
kind
of
peripheral.
At
this
point,
we're
really
focused
on
backdrop
the
product
for
now
and
finishing
out
these
crucial
services,
like
the
update
manager
and
the
project
directory
listing.
So
one
thing
at
a
time.
B
Let's
see
a
backdrop,
backdrop
itself,
progress
in
here
harnesses
actually
really
been
pretty
exciting
this
past
week,
even
though
there
was
a
ton
of
activity,
we
had
a
release
this
week,
which
was
really
exciting.
So
we
released
one
point.
One
point,
two,
just
a
minor
release
that
included
thanks
to
Paul
who's
with
us
here
in
this
meeting.
Thank
you
very
much.
Every
single
patch
from
Drupal
7,
30,
6
and
7
37.
We
kind
of
been
flipping
a
little
bit
falling
behind
with
our
cross
forth
from
Drupal
7,
but
with
Paul's
help
and
others.
We
compact.
A
A
B
Let's
see
oh
and
there's
also
some
other
nice
improvements
as
well.
There's
some
fixes
to
the
admin
bar
some
consistency,
things
that
clone
us
has
been
working
on
for
a
while
trying
to
make
our
admin
bar
consistent
and
Paul
again
helped
with
the
actual
implementation
of
those
things
which
is
fantastic
and
we
got
allowed
nice
consistency.
Improvements
into
the
admin
theme
thanks
to
the
west,
and
there
is
so
it's
been
nice
iterative,
improving
what
we
really
like
to
see.
So
the
next
release,
of
course,
will
be
one
point,
one
point
three.
B
Then
we
don't
have
anything
tagged
for
the
one
point.
One
point
three
release
it's
just
as
we
encounter
bugs
and
get
them
fixed,
we'll
move
them
into
that
branch.
If
there's
anything
that
you
really
feel
needs
to
be
fixed
by
the
next
one,
you
can
throw
that
tag
on
that
issue
and
we'll
take
a
closer
look
at
it,
but
no
real
guarantee.
So
if
you.
B
B
B
Okay
items
for
one
point:
two
point:
oh
that's
our
next
minor
release.
Our
next
minor
release
is
scheduled
to
be
September,
15,
2015
and
we've
got
a
number
of
ideas
for
one
point,
two
point:
oh,
but
we're
hoping
to
integrate,
including
including
a
built-in
rich
text
editor
or
witty
wig.
That's
issue.
101,
in
the
backdrop,
is
your
cue
I
haven't
posted
and
I.
Don't
think,
there's
been
any
activity
in
that
issue
this
past
week,
but
that
doesn't
mean
that
stuff
isn't
happening.
B
We've
been
making
some
progress
this
week,
I'm
going
to
meet
Jim
we've
been
making
some
progress
this
week
getting
the
image
in
link
handling
working
last
week,
I
said
that
we've
got
dialogues
working
in
images
and
links.
You
can
now
manipulate
using
dialogues,
which
is
great
in
this
past
week,
we've
gotten
captions
and
alignment
working
so
that
you
can
caption
an
image
inside
of
the
WYSIWYG
and
move
the
image
and
the
caption
together
as
a
single
unit.
So
you
can't
accidentally
drag
the
image,
but
not
the
caption.
B
It's
really
great
integration
and
it's
working
really
really
well
as
a
finished
up
the
filtering
so
that
the
front-end
filtering
of
those
things,
the
conversion
from
a
data
caption
attribute
into
an
actual
fig
caption
and
figure
elements
work,
as
well
as
the
alignment
to
uses
data
align
as
a
data
attribute
them,
and
that
assigns
a
class
on
the
front
end
to
actually
do
the
alignment
of
either
an
image
for
or
the
figure.
So
things
are
coming
along
great.
B
The
thing
that
prevents
me
from
pushing
up
new
changes
is
that
it's
still
pretty
buggy,
that's
a
more
Jam
stabilized
and
things
a
little
bit
before
I
make
any
updates
to
the
branch
changes
for
the
WYSIWYG
stuff
is
in
at
branch
called
1x
WYSIWYG.
It's
in
the
main
backdrop
repository.
If
you
want
to
check
in
on
work,
that's
where
all
of
the
activity
is
currently
happening.
B
Okay,
I'm
going
to
hand
it
back
over
to
you
Jen
since
that's
that's
all
I've
got.
B
B
B
B
B
That
way,
alright.
A
Everyone
anyway,
as
I,
was
saying
window
and
good
hear
me:
we've
got
rich
text
editor
in
core
we're
also
putting
in
fields
modules
so
on
the
list,
our
date
link
and
email.
A
But
if
those
end
up
going
swimmingly
well
and
there's
any
other
field
modules
that
we
want
to
put
in
like
phone
or
anything
else
that
Drupal
8
got
into
core
we're,
definitely
open
to
merging
those
into
so
I
yeah
I
know,
there's
been
a
bunch
of
progress
on
those
criminals
already,
we've
got
some
triple
coblentz
for
backup
and
those
can
go
into
core
as
soon
as
they're
ready.
So
opening
wants
to
grab
those.
Hopefully
it's
not
too
hard.
A
The
process
would
just
be
grab
the
module,
throw
it
in
the
modules
directory
in
core
and
then
make
sure
it
works
and
then
do
a
kind
of
a
review
of
features
and
see,
if
there's
anything,
really
weird
in
there
that
we
maybe
wouldn't
want
in
for
but
for
the
most
part,
everything
that's
in
there
isn't
too
weird.
So
as
long
as
it
works
the
way
we
expected
to
be
fine
make
sure
the
tests
pass
all
that
good
stuff
and
then
submit
a
full
requests
and
we'll
see
what
we
think.
A
Okay,
so
other
stuff
we're
working
on
the
future.
There's,
obviously
a
ton
of
issues
in
our
queue,
a
handful
of
them
are
bugs
a
handful
of
them
are
new
features.
A
So,
in
our
issue
queue
we
have
a
ton
of
issues
that
are
prefixed
with
you
x,
+
square
brackets
and
those
are
user
experience
focus
issues.
I
know,
there's
been
a
ton
of
progress
on
those
lately,
so
I
I
love.
Seeing
that
makes
me
really
happy
makes
a
better
product.
It
makes
happier
and
users
and
getting
all
of
those
that
are
good.
So
anyone
who
has
any
user
experience
improvements,
those
can
go
in
usually
in
bug
fix
releases
depending
on
how
crazy
these
your
experience
improvement
is.
A
A
We
can
write
rapper
functions
for
an
intuitive
way
to
call
something
that
wraps
a
nun
intuitive
way
to
call
something.
But
if
the
kind
of
change
we
need
to
make
is
too
big,
then
that
would
be
something
that
we
require
an
API
change
and
that
would
need
to
go
into
backdrop
to
so.
We
want
to
hear
about
your
experience
working
with
back
job
as
developer
was
it
feel
like
what's
intuitive,
what's
not
intuitive,
and
then
we
can
work
towards
improving
those
things.
A
Long-Term
too,
of
course,
there's
a
whole
ton
of
other
issues
in
the
queue
that
aren't
tagged
with
any
of
these
things
and
that's
kind
of
a
scratch.
Your
own
niche
kind
of
situation,
where,
if
you
have
a
problem
either
in
your
drupal
cider
in
your
backup
site-
and
you
want
to
see
it
fixed-
let
us
know
about
the
problem:
I'm
submit
a
pull
request
and
if
it's
a
problem
that
we
agree
exists
and
we
want
to
see
fixed,
we
will
help
for
towards
get
that
getting
that
done.
A
There's
a
ton
of
other
people
in
the
backdrop
issue
queue
that
will
chime
in
and
say,
I
also
have
this
problem
when
I
hate,
when
this
happens-
and
we
can
help
to
make
those
things
that
are
in
backdrop
in
a
perfect
world-
would
also
then
take
our
solution
and
put
it
in
the
triple
Q.
So
we
can
share
everything,
but
I
do
realize,
there's
a
limited
number
of
hours
in
the
day,
so
we'll
see
about
trying
to
collaborate
much
as
possible,
but
not
hold
you
to
it
all
right.
Every
Thursday.
A
After
this
weekly
meeting,
we
have
a
little
sprint
on
backdrop
where
we
all
meet
online,
usually
in
the
backdrop
IRC
channel,
which
is
town
backdrop,
sometimes
in
the
backdrop
subreddit,
sometimes
just
in
the
backdrop
github
issue
queue
where
we
all
try
and
tackle
a
bunch
of
work
on
backdrop.
A
But
but
people
do
read
that
so
whenever
you
can
contribute
and,
however
you
can
contribute,
it's
totally
fun,
we
do
have
a
google
calendar
event
and
I
shall
feed
repeating
for
this
meeting.
You
can
grab
that
link
on
the
contribute
page
on
backup,
CMS
org.
You
can
also
get
it
from
my
reddit.
You
can
also
get
it
from
these
weekly
agenda
as
if
you
ever
can
find
one
oh
they're
in
our
twitter
feed,
if
you
can't
find
them
on
google
docs,
but
those
ical
feeds
include
this
weekly
meeting.
A
We
also
have
a
design
meeting
that
happens
fortnightly
and
we
also
have
a
different
ical
feed
for
backdrop
friendly
events
in
this
year.
Those
are
all
Drupal
events
for
the
most
part,
they're
Drupal
events
for
people
for
interested
in
Drupal
are
also
interested
in
backdrop.
The
organizers
of
the
events
are
friendly
towards
people
who
work
on
backdrop,
and
we
are
welcome
there
with
open
arms.
So
if
you
want
to
go
to
a
Drupal
event
or
people
are
talking
about
both
Drupal
and
backdrop,
you
can
check
out
that
calendar.
A
Just
a
handful
of
upcoming
events
here
at
drupalcamp.
Colorado
is
this
weekend.
If
you're
in
or
near
Colorado
Twin
Cities
drupalcamp
is
next
weekend,
if
you
are
in
or
near
Minneapolis,
Drupal
North
is
also
next
weekend.
If
you
are
in
or
near
Toronto,
and
then
science
on
Drupal
is
part
of
the
NASA
NSA
and
NSF
conference.
What
just
going
to
be
on
July
fourteenth.
A
The
triple
day
is
july:
fourteenth
the
rest
of
that
conference
is
july.
Seventeenth
goes
through
july,
seventeenth
and
then
drupal
corn
is
the
end
of
july.
There's
a
whole
bunch
of
other
stuff
on
our
calendar.
I
would
recommend
checking
out
vical
feed
if
you're
interested
in
it.
There's
too
many
events
to
talk
about
every
day,
but
it
is
super
exciting
that
all
of
these
people
events
are
interested
in
backup
and
and
one
year
as
talk
about
it,
so
good
job
everybody.
A
We
are
going
to
be
doing
our
first
backdrops
summit.
This
November
actually
change
of
dates.
This
October
it'll
be
the
first
day
of
bad
camp,
which
is
actually
going
to
be
october
22nd.
So
keep
that
in
mind.
If
you
want
to
come
to
a
backdrop
summit
where
we're
going
to
be
doing
all
backdrop
all
day,
long,
that's
a
good
day
to
do
it.
We
haven't
figured
out
exactly
what
the
schedule
is
for
that,
but
there'll
be
a
probably
a
combination
of
introductory
tux.
A
On
what
is
backdrop,
what
are
the
significant
differences
can
be
backed
up
and
drupal
and
then
maybe
a
little
sprint
going
on
two.
At
the
same
time,
if
anyone
wants
to
work
together
on
backdrop
thanks,
we
do
still
have
a
featured
article
in
the
latest
version
of
Drupal
watchdog.
A
We
don't
be
able
to
see
that
very
much
longer,
because
the
next
version
is
coming
out
pretty
soon,
but
if
you're
interested
in
doing
some
reading
on
backed
up
in
print,
that's
a
good
place
to
go,
and
then,
as
people
write
blog
posts
and
articles
about
Drupal,
we
would
also
love
to
promote
those
on
this
meeting.
I
know
that
kalid
arcola,
just
posted
our
fallen
back
to
drop
in
the
on
the
two
bits
blog.
A
So
if
you
guys
are
interested
in
reading
that
I'll
try
and
throw
a
link
up
here
soon
and
maybe
we'll
tweet
it
too,
so
you
guys
can
find
that
and
that's
kind
of
it
in
terms
of
our
agenda.
So
we
should
open
the
floor
to
anyone
who
has
any
questions
or
comments
about
backdrop
or
anything.
They
want
to
add
that
we
should
talk
about
weekly
or
maybe
just
this
once
anyone
have
anything
at
all.
A
B
B
So,
basically
he's
waiting
on
me
because
of
the
server
administration
task
that
we
need
to
do
to
actually
get
that
complete
and
as
soon
as
we
do
that
then
I'm
pretty
sure
he'll
be
unblocked
as
far
as
the
client-side
implementation
goes,
but
it's
already
on
backdrops
a
method.
Org
would
just
have
some
small
server
administration
things
that
need
to
be
done
to
kind
of
get.
The
unblocked
is.
A
B
A
So,
just
four
of
you
who
weren't
here
last
week,
the
project
browser
that's
something
that
been
on
drupal's
to
do
list
for
a
really
long
time,
but
the
goal
is
to
let
people
browse
modules,
themes
and
layouts
directly
from
inside
backdrop,
so,
rather
than
needing
to
go
to
backed
up
Cena,
so
organ
search
for
modules.
If
we
can
get
that
search
interface
inside
the
application
itself,
I
think
that
would
be
ideal.
Then
people
won't
get
confused
about
what
website
they're
on
is
it.
A
B
It
seems
like
there's
some
other,
exciting
things,
but
I
think
I'm
just
so
excited
about
the
recent
minor
release.
The
new
admin
bar
improvements
are
so
good,
like
a
way
of
this
amazing
photo
request
to
speed
up
the
performance
of
the
front
end
performance
of
admin
bar
and
it
is,
it
is
imperceptible.
Now
the
speed
of
it
I'm
sure
it's
one
of
those
things.
You
probably
don't
notice
unless
you're
looking
for
it,
but
previously,
like
you,
could
see
the
admin
bar
flashes
it
loaded,
and
now
it's
just
it's
it's
just
immediate.
B
End
performance
is
not
something
that
a
lot
of
people
has
focused
on
and
I
really
am
appreciative
of
that
work
to
make
our
front-end
feel
faster,
because,
though,
the
way
it
feels,
even
though
it
doesn't
show
up
in
benchmarks,
because
people
just
using
apache
bench
or
whatever,
to
check
the
speed
of
things,
it
makes
a
perceptible
difference
to
our
users.
So
I
was
really
excited
to
see
that
drop.
Oh.
A
Well,
thank
you,
everybody
for
all
the
amazing
work
over
the
last
week,
my
github
folder
in
my
inbox
is
out
of
control.
So
that's
a
good
sign
all
right.
Well,
we
will
see
you
all
online
and
nikka
GQ
and
IRC
on
reddit
wherever
else,
and
maybe
in
person
is
some
of
these
events
the
next
few
weeks.
So
thanks
all
for
joining
today
and
we'll
see
you
soon
all.
