Description
Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith and Councilman John Olszewski, Sr. cut the ribbon on a $2.5 million project that enhances the safety and appearance of Dundalk Avenue - the main thoroughfare in this up-and-coming historic community. The project also improves visibility of businesses and provides new benches and landscaping for Dundalk Veterans Park. Smith will also provide an update on a large number of public and private efforts underway to revitalize Dundalk. Many of these initiatives resulted from recommendations of the 2001 Dundalk Urban Design Assistance Team (UDAT) community-driven planning process.

in
front
of
the

dog
village
center,

it's

community
centers

is
just

all
the
things
that
have
happened
and
the
private
sector
has
likewise
responded
as
we
knew
it
would.

agreed

community

the
historic
character
and
features

renovated,

apartments.
They
got

more.
That
will
be
finished
by
the
end
of
the
year.
They've
already
got
tenants
six
tenants
in
the
apartments,
and
that's
happened
over
the
last
week.

apartments
are
quite
frank,
they're
beautiful
each
one
of
them
is
different:
they
save
the
architectural
features,
including
hardwood
floors,
and
many
of
them
and
I
mean
it's
just
it's
the
place
to
be
Canton

to
dundalk
I
mean
it's
really
exciting,
really
excited
they
fixed
up
the
retail

least.
