Description
In the September 1 edition, the County Executive answers residents' questions on street flooding from heavy rains, unburied cable lines left by the cable company and getting timely local election results online.
A
Welcome
to
another
edition
of
ask
Jim
Smith.
Our
first
question
today
comes
from
Michael
in
pikesville.
Michael
wants
to
know
who
to
contact
in
connection
with
a
temporary
comcast
line
across
the
street
in
his
neighborhood.
It's
been
that
way
for
over
a
year
Michael.
The
county
council
is
in
charge
of
the
franchise
agreements,
with
both
comcast
and
verizon.
I've
contacted
Tom
peddicord
who's,
a
secretary
in
legal
counsel
for
the
county
council
and
made
him
aware
of
your
situation.
He
may
have
already
contacted
you
in
connection
with
this
matter.
A
If
he
has
not,
you
can
reach
mr.
peddicord
at
410,
887
3196,
I'm,
confident
that
if
you've
not
heard
from
him,
you
will
hear
from
him
very
soon
and
thank
you
for
bringing
this
issue
to
our
attention.
Our
next
question
comes
from
James
in
kingsville.
James
is
concerned
about
sunshine
Avenue
in
his
neighborhood
that
floods
in
heavy
rains
and
creates
a
real
driving
hazard
on
the
winding
roads.
A
When
this
occurs,
a
James
I've
talked
to
the
Deputy
Director
of
Public
Works,
and
he
intends
to
send
the
storm
drains
division
out
to
check
the
problem
and
to
see
if
we
can
be
of
assistance
in
resolving
the
issue.
You
can
follow
up
with
Bill
cortman,
who
is
the
Deputy
Director
of
Public
Works
at
410,
887
330.
To
again,
thank
you
for
bringing
this
to
our
attention
and
I'm,
confident
that
you
will
hear
from
mr.
cortman
and
that
you
will
see
the
storm
drains
division,
doing
an
assessment
of
the
situation.
A
I
found
a
question
today
comes
from
Louise
in
cockeysville.
Louise
wants
to
know
if
there's
any
way
that
she
can
follow
or
get
the
baltimore
county
election
results
more
timely
than
she
does
on
the
regular
TV
stations
Louise.
We
have
our
office
of
information.
Technology
has
worked
with
a
board
of
election
supervisors
to
provide
for
that
information
in
a
more
timely
fashion.
We
believe
that
we
are
going
to
be
able
to
provide
updated
election
results
for
Baltimore
County
every
hour
after
the
polling.
A
Place
is
closed,
so
it
will
be
updated
every
hour
and
you
can
access
that
by
going
to
baltimore
county
md,
gov
and
clicking
on
board
of
elections
and
then
you'll
be
able
to
get
the
results.
That
way,
you
know
I.
Thank
you
for
your
interest
in
inquiry.
I
hope
you'll
encourage
everybody
to
vote
in
the
sep
tember
14th
primary,
it's
very
important
and
we're
providing
a
way
that
you
can
see
the
results
of
your
vote,
at
least
as
it
impacts
Baltimore
County
as
soon
as
possible.
