our
jewish
community
and
friends-
I'm
chief
jim
johnson
police
chief
for
the
baltimore
county
police
department.
This
message
today
is
one
of
peace
and
assurance.
As
you
begin
your
observance
of
the
new
year
rosh
hashanah
on
wednesday
at
sundown.
I
want
you
to
know
that
officers
of
the
baltimore
county
police
department
will
be
keeping
a
watchful
eye
on
your
communities
during
these
very
sacred
days.
A
I
also
wish
this
season
of
rosh
hashanah,
leading
up
to
yom
kippur
to
be
a
time
of
peace
for
you
and
your
families.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
your
support
of
the
police
department.
Members
such
as
those
of
shamrom
and
community
citizens
on
patrol
groups
assist
our
officers
when
suspicious
events
occur
in
your
communities
in
the
pikesville
precinct
alone.
For
example,
we
have
seen
decreases
in
burglaries,
robberies
and
auto
thefts
throughout
this
year.
Compared
to
previous
years,
participation
in
groups
like
shamrim
greatly
contribute
to
the
potential
suppression
of
crime
making
our
streets
safer.

always
been
impressed
by
the
strong
commitment
that
your
communities
possess.
It
has
been
a
nexus
for
positive
relations
with
law
enforcement
and
has
permeated
a
positive
atmosphere
in
all
areas
where
we
live
work
and
play
as
this
season
is
upon
us.

you
to
feel
at
ease
in
your
time
of
observance.
