From YouTube: Ask Jim Smith June 23
Description
In the June 23 edition, the County Executive will answer citizens' questions about sign size restrictions on private property, road repair and a burned out property.
A
Welcome
to
another
edition
of
ask
Jim
Smith.
Our
first
question
today
comes
from
David
from
Woodmoor
David's
concerned
about
the
condition
of
a
burned-out
property,
the
overall
condition
of
a
burned-out
property
in
his
neighborhood
David.
Actually,
we
were
aware
of
the
property
and
in
fact,
code
enforcement
went
out
on
jun
7th
and
issued
a
citation
for
the
tall,
weeds
and
grass
ordering
it
to
be
cut.
They
will
follow
up
on
that
and
to
make
certain
that
that
happens.
A
They
are
the
the
fire
department
has
been
out
to
the
property
that
in
the
very
recent
past
and
they
cut
a
hole
in
the
roof.
They've
checked
the
the
structure.
They
believe
that
it
is
not
in
danger
of
collapse,
but
they
will
monitor
that
situation
and
if,
in
fact,
it
does
reach
a
point
where
it
is
in
danger
of
collapse,
they
will
issue
a
repair
or
tear
down
order
for
the
property.
If
you
want
any
more
information,
you
can
call
code
enforcement
at
410,
887
3375,
and
thank
you
for
your
question.
A
Thank
you
for
your
interest
in
the
neighborhood.
My
second
question
comes
from
Paul
and
Towson.
Paul
is
concerned
about
the
BGE,
a
gas
line
replacement
along
West,
Joppa
Road
and
the
condition
of
the
roadway
Paul.
We
we've
contacted
vge
and
we
told
them
they
have
to
get
that
road
repaired
as
quickly
as
possible.
We
are
going
to
monitor
that
to
see
that
they
respond
quickly.
In
the
meantime,
our
own
public
works
crews
are
going
to
do.
A
A
Our
final
question
comes
from
Randy
and
hair
fur
Randy
wants
to
know
whether
other
jurisdictions
have
rules
and
regulations
regarding
the
size
of
signs
and
residential
zones.
Randy
all
the
jurisdictions
have
signs.
Excuse
me,
have
rules
and
regulations
governing
the
signs
and
come
in
residential
areas
and
and
frankly,
Baltimore
County
is
enforcing
the
zoning
laws.
A
Again,
it's
a
matter
of
enforcing
the
zoning
rigs
and
most
communities
truly
appreciate
it
because
they
don't
want
these
large
signs,
marring
the
the
beauty
of
their
neighborhoods.
So
thank
you
for
your
question
and
this
concludes
another
edition
of
ask.
Jim
Smith
I,
look
forward
to
seeing
you
the
next
time.
