C
We
ask
that
you
be
with
us,
as
we
honor
those
law
enforcement
officers
in
Bay,
County
and
across
the
nation
that
have
made
the
ultimate
sacrifice.
These
men
and
women
have
taken
were
taken
from
us
way
too.
Really
we
thank
them
and
their
families
for
their
service
Lord.
We
ask
that
you
protect
our
brothers
and
sisters
that
continue
to
patrol
our
communities,
go
before
them
and
give
them
the
protection
and
strength
they
need.

B
The
resolution
reads
as
follows:
where
its
police
officers
of
America
have
worked
devotedly
and
selflessly
in
behalf
of
the
people
of
this
nation,
regardless
of
apparel
or
hazard,
to
themselves,
and
whereas
these
officers
have
safeguarded
the
lives
and
property
of
their
fellow
Americans
and
whereas
by
enforcement
of
our
laws,
these
same
officers
have
given
our
country,
eternal
freedom
from
the
fear
of
violence
and
civil
disorder
that
is
presently
affecting
other
nations,
whereas
these
men
and
women
by
their
patriotic
service
and
their
dedicated
efforts,
have
earned
the
gratitude
of
the
Republic.
Now,
therefore
be
it.
B
Holding
the
thin
blue
line
is
a
selfless
and
challenging
profession.
It
requires
courage,
dedication
and
sacrifice
yet
thousands
of
men
and
women
put
on
a
vest
and
gun
belt
every
day
ready
to
serve
the
citizens
of
their
area.
It
is
a
great
sadness
that
sometimes
these
heroes
lives
are
taken
in
the
performance
of
their
duties,
especially
today.
Well,
not
only
do
we
have
to
run
toward
the
danger,
but
now
people
are
bringing
the
danger
to
us
based
solely
on
the
type
of
beautiful
and
that
we
wear.
B
We
must
never
forget
the
ultimate
sacrifice
given
by
fallen
officers
to
their
city-county,
their
states
and
to
their
country.
We
can
be
sad
and
mourn
for
the
following,
but
let
us
also
be
happy
and
reminisce
on
how
they
lived
their
lives,
the
courage
and
integrity.
They
defended
our
schools
and
businesses
regarding
prisons,
for
borders,
kept
us
safe
at
home
and
on
the
road.
As
we
went
about
our
daily
lives
to
the
friends
and
families
we
all
an
unpayable
debt
and
to
the
men
and
women
who
carry
on
the
mission.
B
We
owe
our
unyielding
support,
just
as
police
officers,
never
let
their
guard
down.
We
must
never
let
slide
our
gratitude.
We
need
to
extend
our
things
not
only
in
times
of
tragedy
but
for
every
tragedy
averted
every
accident
avoided
because
the
patrolmen
took
a
drunk
driver
off
the
street.
Every
neighborhood
made
safer
because
the
drug
dealers
brought
to
justice
every
life
saved
because
police
officers
race
toward
the
danger.
In
other
words,
we
must
show
our
gratitude,
not
just
this
week
in
May,
but
every
day
I
would
now
like
to
introduce
our
first
speaker.
D
D
D
The
uniform
and
badge
they
bear
represents
the
organization
they
serve,
but
also
the
rule
of
law
and
the
authority
of
the
people
that
allows
them
to
enforce
that
world
law.
Another
quality
is
humility,
and
this
is
an
important
quality
for
an
officer
to
act.
One
must
be
humble
to
serve
and
subordinate
oneself
for
the
greater
cause.
Each
of
our
fallen
officers
gave
their
life
performing
their
duty,
which
is
the
greatest
act
of
humility.
A
person
can
make
stewardship
applied
to
those
who
are
responsible
for
taking
care
of
something
or
someone.
D
A
good
officer
understand
that
they
are
stewards
of
their
community
and
of
their
chosen
profession,
which
is
law
enforcement.
The
officers
we
memorialize
they
certainly
have
this
quality
fortitude.
There's
another
quality
that
I
believe
all
who
we're
honoring
today
have
or
have
it's
the
ability
to
be
strong
or
their
the
courage
going
great
the
birth
of
your
home.
D
It
had
been
said
that
when
the
going
gets,
tough,
the
tough
get
going
and
that's
going
to
valor
being
courageous
in
the
face
of
great
things,
there
is
no
doubt
that
he
talked
early
on
it's
a
day.
Have
this
quality
for
each
of
them
died
in
the
line
of
duty
empathy,
and
this
is
an
important
if
it's
quality
or
caring
about
others
and
understanding
the
feelings
and
ideas
of
others.
D
If
you've
ever
had
to
investigate
or
deal
in
some
way
with
a
severe
case
of
child
abuse,
then
you
know
what
I'm
talking
about.
Empathy
is
very
important,
and
this
is
an
essential
quality
to
have
as
a
law
enforcement
officer,
the
Oscars
we
honor
today
I
believe
to
vest
all
of
these
qualities
and
many
more
I'd.
Like
the
end
of
my
brief
comment,
a
quote:
I
came
across
this
quote
an
interesting
quote
from
unlikely
source
and
it
reads
only
a
life
you
lived
for
others
with
a
life
worthwhile
comes
from
over
time.
E
Welcome
and
thank
you
for
all
all
of
you
for
being
here
today,
as
we
honor
the
officers
who
have
paid
their
greatest
sacrifice
to
the
families
who
are
left
behind.
If
there's
nothing
that
you
can
say
or
do
to
ease
your
pain.
But
we
join
with
you
today
to
pay
tribute
to
honor
their
courage
and
to
let
you
know
that
you
have
a
grateful
community
and
that
we
refuse
to
forget.
It
takes
a
special
person
to
be
a
law
enforcement.
E
Have
you
ever
really
stopped
to
look
at
what
an
officer
has
to
wear
each
and
every
day,
when
you
really
look
at
an
officer,
you
can
see
the
intense
equipment
that
they
wear
for
body.
Armor
radios,
handcuffs,
badges,
batons,
a
gun
that
they
hope
they
never
have
to
drop
its
extra
pounds,
that
they
must
carry
just
to
walk
out
the
door
to
do
their
job.
E
But
on
the
inside
that
they
have
made
a
commitment
to
protect
and
to
serve
you
and
me,
we
don't
have
normal
ships,
they
work
24
hours
a
day,
seven
days
a
week,
because
we
need
them.
They
see
unspeakable
things
that
we
do
to
each
other
and
when
we
need
help,
they
are
the
first
people.
We
call
to
help
us
in
times
of
stress
and
crisis.
E
These
men
and
women
who
have
chosen
a
life
in
law
enforcement
know
fully
well
that
they
may
be
called
upon
to
lay
down
their
lives,
that
the
kissed
goodbye
to
a
spouse
or
a
hug
for
their
child
could
be
their
last.
Fewer
professions
ask
so
much,
and
that
is
why
their
sacrifice
meat
meat
means.
Excuse
me
a
great
deal
to
all.
As
a
judge.
The
police
officers
are
my
eyes
and
ears.
E
When
I
receive
a
call
about
a
troubled
youth,
they
helped
me
to
assess
the
situation
to
make
the
right
call
regarding
that
child
I
could
not
do
my
job
without
their
assistance
as
a
community.
We
must
join
the
go
enforcement
to
take
responsibility
for
the
problems
in
keeping
our
community
and
our
School
of
State.
E
John
F
Kennedy
made
today's
a
day
that
we
recognize
our
peace
officers
memorial
day
and
honor
of
those
police
officers
who,
through
their
courageous
deeds,
have
lost
their
lives
or
have
become
disabled
in
the
performance
of
their
duty.
No
truer
words
have
been
written.
It
is
up
to
us
to
bear
witness
to
the
bravery
and
sacrifice
made
by
those
heroes
today
to
remember
their
courage
and
to
never
forget
the
ones
that
they
loved
our
left
behind.
Thank
you.
