God.

tour

in
our
daily
assignments,
to
always
serve
our
communities
to
the
best

our

globe

I
really
reflected
on
the
words
that
were
spoken
not
that
long
ago,
it
states
that
police
officers
work
devotedly
and
selflessly
on
the
behalf
of
the
people
of
this
nation.
There's
not
a
more
accurate
statement
when
speaking
of
this
job
peace
officers
have
to
be
selfless,
we
don't
get
to
pick
and
choose
who
we
want
to
help
on
a
daily
basis.
It's
the
people
of
the
town,
county
and
state
that
we
serve.

We
have
to
be
Sullivan's
because,
let's
face
it,
no
police
officer
is
in
it
for
the
money,
we're
not
getting
rich,
I'm,
pretty
sure
I
didn't
even
look
at
the
starting
wage
when
I
applied
for
this
job.
I
just
wanted
to
be
a
cop
I
wanted
to
help
people
and
make
a
difference.
Plus
driving,
fast
and
cool,
didn't
hurt.

The
resolution
stated
that
police
officers
give
the
country
eternal
freedom
from
the
fear
of
violence
and
civil
disorder.
Many
people
out
there
know
then,
when
they
see
the
fight
or
hear
the
gunshots
they
get
to
make
that
call
the
9-1-1
and
run
to
safety.
They
do
this
because
they
know
that
a
police
officer
is
going
to
use
their
training
and
experience
run
towards
that
same
situation
and
make
them
safe.

Police
officers
have
been
shown
it's
pretty
poor
light.
As
of
late.
Everyone
loves
a
good
news
story.
When
someone
makes
the
wrong
decision,
especially
police
officers,
in
our
line
of
work,
we
have
to
make
split-second
decisions
that
can
and
will
affect
many
people
go,
find
any
situation
where
a
bad
decision
was
made.
They'll
scream,
the
police
are
bad.

Unfortunately,
not
all
police
officers
get
to
make
it
home
at
the
end
of
their
shift,
and
that
is
why
we
are
here
today.
We
are
here
to
honor
those
men
and
women
that
made
the
ultimate
sacrifice
to
their
family
and
friends.
We
know
an
unpayable
tipped
and
to
the
men
and
women
who
carry
on
the
mission.
Still
we
are
unyielding
support,
just
as
police
officers,
never
let
down
their
guard.
We
must
never
let
slide
our
gratitude.
We
need
to
extend
our
thanks
and
appreciation,
not
only
in
times
of
tragedy
but
for
every
tragedy
averted.

The
law
enforcement
officers
of
this
country
hold
the
thin
blue
line,
which
we
chaos
in
order.
They
do
with
every
day
when
they
strap
they
do
it
every
day
when
they
kiss
their
loved
ones.
Goodbye
heading
into
work,
knowing
in
the
back
of
their
mind,
they
not
might
not
be
coming
home
at
the
end
of
that
shift.
They
do
it
every
day
to
make
their
city
better
their
county
better
their
statement.

want
to
thank
the
Fraternal
Order
of
Police
Lodge
number
103
for
organizing
this
ceremony.
Today
they
do
a
great
job
of
it.
Today
we
gathered
honor
the
memory
of
and
women
from
across
the
country
who
dedicated
their
lives
to
serving
and
protecting
our
communities,
and
the
nation
has
held
those
those
whose
names
we
will
hear.
Today
were
our
friends,
partners,
spouses,
fathers
and
sons.
E
They
were
true
professionals
who
counted
on
each
other
every
day,
their
hard
work,
dedication
to
duty
and,
most
importantly,
their
pursuit
of
justice
and
made
our
communities
safer,
the
officers
and
deputies
and
troopers.
We
remember
today
came
from
different
agencies,
a
basicity
of
the
Department
of
Public
Safety,
the
Bay
County
Sheriff's
Office,
and
the
Michigan
State
Police.
They
came
from
different
backgrounds,
but
they
were
bound
by
common
values:
courage,
sacrifice,
service
and,
most
importantly,
integrity.

They
were
also
bound
by
a
common
location,
which
was
more
than
just
a
job,
a
career
or
profession.
They
lived
so
that
when
wrong
was
done,
justice
would
be
served.
They
live
to
protect
children
from
predators,
to
work,
to
eradicate
crime,
to
track
down
dangerous
fugitives
and
to
bring
justice
to
victims
and
ensure
justice,
the
offender
and
also
to
make
our
communities
and
nation
a
safer
place.
They
live
to
make
a
difference
in
this
world
and
they
died
as
they
lived,
defending
freedom,
safeguarding
peace
and
preserving
justice.

As
we
remember
the
following
officers
in
our
community,
perhaps
we
can
find
some
measure
of
comfort
for
their
sacrifice
and
the
words
of
one
of
our
greatest
presidents
and
it's
a
quote
from
the
Theodore
Roosevelt.
If
you
know
your
history,
Theodore
Roosevelt
was
a
man's
man
right.
So
this
is
pure
Teddy
Roosevelt,
and
he
says
it
is
not
the
critic
who
counts,
nor
the
man
who
points
out
how
the
strong
man
stumbles
or
where
the
doer
of
Deeds
could
have
done.
That
are.

The
credit,
belongs
to
the
man
in
the
arena
whose
face
is
marred
by
dust
and
sweat
and
blood
who
strives
valiantly.
Who
knows
the
great
enthusiasms,
the
great
devotions,
who
spends
himself
in
a
worthy
cause
Who
at
the
best
knows
in
the
end,
the
triumph
of
high
achievement
and
who,
at
worst,
if
he
fails
at
least
fails
while
daring
greatly,
so
that
his
place
shall
never
be
with
those
cold
and
timid
souls
who
have
never
known
either
victory
or
defeat
the
credit
he
spoke
of
belongs
to
each
and
every
officer
we
honor.

Today
they
dared
greatly.
They
knew
the
great
enthusiasms
and
devotions
and
they
spent
themselves
in
the
cause
worthy
of
character,
but
the
credit
also
loss
of
officers
and
first
responders
who
stand
in
a
day
as
well
as
the
community
that
supports
our
officers.
Your
support,
the
support
of
the
community,
is
now
more
important
than
ever,
because
in
this
day
and
age,
someone
rather
malign
our
officers
instead
of
supporting
them.

as
we
honor
our
fallen
enforcement
officers,
but
it's
also
rededicate
ourselves
to
their
high
a
great
devotion,
let's
recommit
ourselves,
to
supporting
all
of
our
law
enforcement
officers
and
first
responders,
who
risked
their
lives
to
ensure
the
safety
and
the
protection
of
our
communities.

today,
the
Officer
Down
Memorial
Page
has
reported
53
officers
killed
in
the
line
of
duty.
This
year,
nationwide
129
died
in
the
line
of
duty.
In
2017,
a
part
of
every
community
dies
when
an
officer
dies,
but
departments
and
communities
also
find
strength
and
comfort
in
each
other.
During
those
hard
times,
we
come
together
at
ceremonies
like
this
to
keep
their
memories
alive,
while
thinking
about
what
I
could
possibly
share
with
this
audience
today,
while
sitting.

School
National
Honor
Society
adoption
a
few
weeks
ago.
I
listened
to
students
and
speakers
talk
about
the
pillars
of
the
National
Honor
Society
service,
scholarship
leadership
and
character.
I
thought
that
would
be
a
good
way
to
start
how
amazing
there
are
brightest,
high
school
students
and
our
law
enforcement
profession,
shared
values,
all
those
same
pillars
service.
We
truly
serve
the
communities
that
we
work
live
the
mission
for
every
police
officer,
no
matter
which
department
we
work
for
is
to
make
our
communities
a
safe
place
for
all.
We
accomplish
this
through
our
daily.

Plays
a
part
in
every
aspect
of
police
work
from
electronic
traffic
tickets
and
crash
reports
to
crime,
scene
processing,
electronic
device,
downloads,
training,
education
and
scholarships
are
very
important
to
today's
police
officer
leadership.
The
ability
to
encourage
others
to
do
their
best
is
what
we
look
for
in
law
enforcement.
An
officer
is
someone
wanted
our
good.

Distinctive
in
an
individual,
when
we
haven't
our
fallen
officers,
we
often
hear
that
it
was
not
how
they
died,
but
how
they
lived
that
made
them
true
heroes.
This
is
a
true
definition
of
character
and
then
I'd
like
to
talk
a
little
bit
more
about
service
we
serve.
Our
communities
is
both
Guardians
and
as
warriors
as
Guardians.
We
protect
our
citizens.

Lighting,
there's
no,
that
they
need
not
worry.
We
are
here
for
them,
but
as
warriors
much
like
the
tenant,
Colonel
Dave
Grossman
describes
us.
We
stand
like
sheepdogs
among
the
Sheep
standing
guard,
always
ready
to
jump
into
action
against
the
wolves
and
prey
on
our
five.
It
doesn't
matter
if
it's
a
domestic
violence
call
a
traffic
crash,
a
robbery
or
an
active
shooter.

Warriors
we
stand
ready
to
step
forward
and
stop
the
violence,
even
if
it
means
risking
our
lives
and
because
we
risk
our
lives.
We
far
too
often
lose
officers
trying
to
make
our
communities
safe.
The
scripture
says
there
is
no
greater
love
than
to
lay
down
one
lives
one's
life
for
a
friend.
We
need
to
keep
in
mind
that,
although
the
national
media,
the
social
media
climate,
is
not
always
kind
to
police
officers,
only
a
very
small
minority
of
the
population
feels.

Are
blessed
our
Bay
County
community
to
have
the
trust
and
support
of
our
citizens
that
we
serve
and
it
is
an
honor
to
serve
them
every
day,
serving
as
a
police
officers
are
calling
much
like
being
called
to
the
clergy,
teaching
and
other
public
service,
but
because
we
risk
our
lives
daily.
There
is
no
other
calling
as
noble
as
that
of
a
police
officer.
We
need
to
remember
and
honor
that
calling
as
we
serve
others
remember
the
officers
who
are
honored
here
today,
as
well
as
those
across
this
nation
who
have
given
their
lives.

fourth
is
calling
strive
to
serve
the
public
daily
in
memory
of
them
take
opportunities
throughout
the
year
to
remember
these
officers.
If
you
have
never
been
to
the
candlelight
vigil
in
Washington
DC
plan,
a
future
trip,
I've
been
there
several
times
and
words
cannot
express
the
emotional
impact
of
seeing
tens
of
tens
of
thousands
of
officers
and
families
silently
honoring.

Finally,
for
the
officers
here,
thank
you
for
your
service,
your
scholarship,
your
leadership,
your
character
and,
most
importantly,
your
sacrifice
for
the
other
officials,
family
media
and
the
public
that
are
here.

would
also
thank

Loving
father
by
your
grace,
we
gathered
here

seek
your
face
and
thank
you
for
this
family
for
ours,
and
home
and
loyalty
are
hard
to
fool
of
gratitude
for
work
and
rest
and
daily
food
for
neighbors
kind

faithful
friends,
the
gifts
on
with
our
lives.
