A
Today
is
our
eighth
annual
walleyes
for
warriors
veterans
fishing
trip,
it's
a
free
fishing
trip
for
veterans.
Our
way
of
saying,
welcome
home,
and
thank
you
for
your
service.
Today
is
our
first
year
up
here
at
lid
wood,
beach,
marina,
which
has
been
a
fantastic
venue
for
us
they've,
just
been
very
accommodating
helping
us
with
everything
from
getting
our
tent
set
up
to
getting
all
these
flags
out.
In
the
background.
A
That
we've
done
with
our
own
volunteers
for
many
years.
We
had
a
lot
of
help
from
these
guys
and
not
just
that,
but
the
proximity
to
the
fishing
points.
You
know
a
lot
closer.
These
guys
had
a
lot
more
time
of
lines
in
the
water
this
year
than
what
they've
had
in
the
past.
Typically,
they
had
about
an
hour
ride,
maybe
an
hour
and
a
half
ride
out
to
their
fishing
holes
and
then
that
same
time,
getting
back
in
after
the
day
was
over
in
the
fish
were
cots.
A
So
this
time
you
know
they
head
to
two
three
hours
in
more
time
with
actually
lines
in
the
water
catching
fish
been
seeing.
A
lot
of
these
guys
come
through.
These
boats
are
coming
through,
with
with
stringers
full
of
fish.
Typically,
on
this
day,
we
take
in
about
a
thousand
walleye
that
then
go
to
a
cleaning
station.
They
get
cleaned,
bagged
and
iced
up.
For
these
guys
to
take
home
every
one
of
these
veterans
leaves
with
fish.
You
know
all
the
people
that
have
helped
put
this
on.
A
I've
got
a
board
of
directors
that
there's
nine
people
on
my
board
and
on
top
of
those
nine
people,
we've
got
about
80,
but
80
volunteers
that
are
out
here,
helping
us
as
well
stuff
that
we
couldn't
do
without
them
and
a
another
group
that
we
couldn't
do
without,
as
our
benefactors
are
people
that
donate
to
us.
Garber
Chevrolet
up
here
in
Linwood,
was
huge
for
us
this
year,
along
with
Garber
Buick
and
Saginaw
North
Woods
wholesale.
A
Ranks
great
outdoors
in
Linwood,
obviously
Linwood
Beach
Marina,
where
we
are
today
and
many
many
more
soaring
eagle
and
saggin
Eagle's
landing
provide
the
meals
for
us.
They
they
do
bag
lunches
for
all
these
guys
to
take
out
on
the
boats
and
then
we've
got
Ricker's
meats
is
new
for
us.
This
year,
they're
catering,
the
dinner,
that's
going
to
be
happening
in
about
45
minutes
in
the
Big
Ten.
Just
one
more
way
to
say.
Thank
you.
This
is
an
event.
That's
that's
put
on
from
the
donations
it
takes
somewhere
around
forty
to
fifty
thousand
dollars.
B
Hi
I'm
Andy
from
Frank's
great
outdoors
here
with
my
brother
Pete.
We
took
some
fat
so
today,
three
vets
and
I
had
a
great
day
started
out:
bang
bang.
We
had
a
couple
three
fish
right
off
the
bat
and
then
we
should
have
turned
around,
but
we
kept
going,
but
some
of
the
things
we're
using
here
today
was
the
jet
diver
and
the
spoon
trick
we're
going
this
back.
30
40
50
feet.
If
I
get
down
there,
it
dives
down
there,
you
run
about
six.
Seven
foot
lead
behind
that
and
this
spoon.
D
Were
run
some
Flickr
sheds
and
Flickr
minnows
reef
runners,
deep
little
rippers
could
have
used
a
hook
sharpener
about
17
times
for
all
the
fish
we
missed.
What
else
did
take
hold
fish
I'm
led
two
or
three
color
led
yeah
I
got
a
cat,
got
a
cat
kind
of
cat
fish
caught
three
or
four
sheephead
beautiful
day
on
the
water
I
mean
you
can't
ask
for
a
better
day.
Nice
little
chop
got
the
bugs.
You
know
at
bay,
I
mean
you
can't
you
can't
beat
the
day
the
weather
I
mean
you
know.
D
The
fishing
wasn't
wasn't
phenomenal,
but
hey
that's
fishing
right.
So
what
are
you
gonna
do,
but
we
started
the
weekend.
We
had
day
we
started
off
with
the
Linwood
beach
marina
customer
appreciation
day.
Walleyes
warriors
moved
to
Linwood
Beach
Marina
this
year
for
the
first
time,
which
was
a
nice
event.
I
think
everybody
enjoyed
it.
It's
a
great
facility
to
have
it
out
of
they
had
great
weather
and
I
mean
we
really
couldn't
ask
for
any
more,
except
maybe
a
few
extra
fish
in
the
box.
Nope.
C
Wallace,
the
warders
was
started
in
2011
I
had
a
dream
of
having
a
fishing
fishing
event
for
veterans.
I
was
over
at
tight
lines
for
troops
out
of
Manistee
and
I've
received
a
welcome
home
coming
in
from
the
many
people
that
were
on
both
sides
of
the
river
waving
their
flags
and
telling
us
welcome
home,
and
thank
you
for
serving
and
that
sort
of
thing
and
I
figured
if
they
can
do
a
salmon
event
over
on
that
side
of
the
Michigan
I
can
do
a
walleye.
