B
Eternal
God
from
whom
all
lives
come
and
to
whom
all
lives
return.
We
give
thanks
for
all
who
served
our
country
in
the
military
we
give
thanks
for
sacrifices
made
for
those
who
gave
the
full
measure
of
devotion.
We
give
thanks
for
their
lives,
the
goodness
and
their
love,
and
this
day
we
give
special
thanks
for
all
who
gave
their
all
in
Bay
County
and
this
Memorial
Day
and
throughout
the
world.
B
B
C
Memorial
Day
has
traditionally
been
one
of
the
most
solemn
and
patriotic
days
for
Americans,
rightfully
so.
Memorial
Day
is
a
day
when
all
Americans,
regardless
of
race,
creed
or
political
persuasion,
joined
together.
To
remember
the
sacrifices
of
those
who
answered
their
nation's
call.
The
significance
of
this
day
is
sometimes
confused
or
distorted.
The
true
meaning
of
Memorial
Day
becomes
at
times
distant
or
vague,
life's
true
commercialism
or
drownded
forgetful
ignorance.
C
Sometimes
there
is
failure
to
recognize
the
magnitude
of
the
deeds
of
the
men
and
women
who
held
true
to
the
notion
that
evil
and
tyranny
must
not
prevail.
It
is
our
sacred
duty
to
keep
the
legacy
of
our
nation's
patriots
forever
fresh
in
the
memories
of
future
generations.
We
are
bound
by
honor
to
do
so.
C
They
fought
and
died
to
preserve
this
land
of
hope
and
dreams
without
the
courage,
valor
and
singleness,
a
purpose
of
our
nation's
veterans,
the
values
that
have
always
made
it
possible
for
us
to
meet
new
challenges
and
move
forward
as
a
nation
would
have
been
lost.
The
freedoms
that
so
many
Americans
enjoy
did
not
come
cheaply.
They
were
paid
for
with
the
flesh
and
blood
of
American
servicemen
and
women
and
with
the
tears
of
those
whose
lives
were
changed
forever
by
the
loss
of
a
loved
one.
C
Memorial
Day
is
a
day
of
opportunity
to
give
thanks
for
all
that
we
are
blessed
well.
It
should
also
be
a
day
that
we
rededicate
ourselves
to
our
country
and
to
Americans
living
veterans
and
their
families
and
memory
of
the
sacrifices
they
and
others
have
made
veterans
will
gather
to
honor
fallen
comrades
on
this
day,
friends
with
whom
they
shared
a
cocktail
or
a
meal.
C
Their
time
together
may
have
been
brief,
but
the
bonds
were
deeply
formed
life
and
feeling
truth
intensified
when
they're
assuring
of
hardship
and
laughter,
fear
and
loss
for
veterans
families
every
day
is
Memorial
Day
as
Americans.
We
pay
tribute
to
those
who
perished.
We
must
be
determined
to
assure
that
those
who
served
and
returned
to
us
receive
proper
care
and
compensation
for
their
rooms
and
infirmities.
We
must
insist
that
every
veteran
has
an
opportunity
for
employment
education
in
a
home
in
which
to
live.
C
We
must
vow
that
our
veterans
be
treated
with
dignity
and
respect
they
so
richly
deserve
to
properly
honor
our
dead.
We
must
honor
our
living.
The
defenders
of
this
nation
have
fulfilled
their
obligation
to
us.
It
is
now
our
duty
to
honor
all
of
the
obligations
owed
to
them.
It
is
a
responsibility
with
which
we
are
all
charged
to
do
our
best
to
repay
the
debt
that
is
owed
to
those
who
have
presented
us
with
our
most
precious
gift.
Freedom.
D
A
tribute
to
those
who
served
and
died
in
time
of
war,
they
heeded
the
call
they
took
up
their
arms
freedom
for
all.
They
went
into
serve
in
faraway
land,
the
battles
they
fought.
They
took
the
stand
in
honor
of
country,
their
duty
they
performed
for
those
who
died
our
country.
Sadly
mourn.
There
were
many
who
fell
and
gave
their
lives,
leaving
behind
their
children,
mothers,
fathers
and
wives.
They
fought.
They
fought
the
fight
to
freedom,
ring
and
honor
that
the
praises
we
sing
to
those
who
died.
E
Since
our
inception
and
as
we
know,
a
memorial
day
was
first
observed
after
the
Civil
War,
when
flowers
were
placed
on
the
graves
to
both
Confederate
and
Yankee
graves
for
those
men
and
women
who
died
during
that
most
horrific
of
wars.
But
every
war
before
and
since
is
it's
just
a
horrific
experience
for
those
who
answer
the
call
of
their
nation
to
defend
their
way
of
life
and
the
freedom
that
they
enjoy.
E
They
were
standing
before
in
honor
of
our
veterans
from
Bay
County,
who
made
that
paid
that
ultimate
sacrifice,
and
one
last
word.
It's
not
political
at
all.
It's
just
one
of
thanked,
Keith,
markstram
and
all
of
his
comrades
that
are
working
to
place.
One
more
monument
here
at
Battery
Park
and
that's
the
gold
star
mother
monument.
We
will
be
the
first
for
successful
and
I
know.
E
We
will
be
here
in
Bay
County,
with
Keith's
leadership,
to
have
a
gold
star
monument
in
the
state
of
Michigan
and
in
honor
of
the
family
members
who
lost
their
family
members
in
in
combat.
So
with
that,
I
want
to
thank
everyone
in
the
audience
and
thank
the
bay
County
Veterans
Council
for
the
opportunity
to
say
a
few
words.
Thank
you.
