Description
This week the Leader of the Council, Cllr Drew Mellor is joined by Cllr Mohan Iyengar, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Culture.
They spoke about the summer readiness plan, the recent Bank Holiday and answered your questions.
A
Good
afternoon
and
welcome
to
our
facebook
live
events
as
part
of
our
bcp
council,
my
name
is
drew
meller
and
I'm
the
leader
of
bcb
council.
Today,
I've
got
with
me
councillor,
mohan
aingar,
who
is
our
portfolio
holder
for
tourism,
amongst,
amongst
other
things,
great
we're
delighted
to
be
with
you
today.
This
is
primarily
you
know
as
a
summer.
Readiness
facebook
live
session,
so
really
welcome
some
questions
on
on
that
very
happy
to
take
any
general
questions
as
well.
A
So
please
put
your
your
questions
in
the
message
bar
and
then
we
get
to
answering
them,
but
before
we
before
we
do
that
just
a
little
bit
of
an
update
in
terms
of
effectively
what's
been
happening.
You
know
not
news
to
anybody
who
had
an
amazing
weekend,
fantastic
weather.
You
know
really
really
full
and
busy
weekend
which
we're
delighted
about
just
you
know
run
for
a
few
quick
statistics
about
that,
but
over
300
thousand
visitors,
which
is
which
is
great,
you
know,
hotels,
are
pretty
much
full
1900
occupancy.
A
We've
worked
really
hard
on
and
and
mohan's
been
leading
this
a
lot
of
our
summer
readiness
plans
and,
for
instance,
you
know,
we've
got
25
000
sort
of
25
tonnes
of
rubbish
every
day
being
cleared
from
our
beaches
about
750
parking
notices,
a
number
of
vehicles
towed
away
tents
removed.
So
you
know
you
know
our
enforcement
actions.
A
You
know
were
there
as
well,
so
so
really
really
pleased
and
proud
of
that,
but
massively
welcome
any
feedback
here
and
any
and
any
questions
as
well
as
we,
you
know,
move
that
forward
over
the
summer.
Okay,
just
before
I
move
on,
it's
still
really
important
to
start
these
sessions.
With
a
very
brief
update
on
covid,
our
numbers
per
100
000
are
in
the
low
single
figures
now
effective,
which
is
which
is
great.
You
know
they
were
up
at
over
900
per
hundred
thousand.
A
So
that's
going
really
well,
there
is
our
hospital
numbers
have
been.
You
know
one
or
two
people.
It's
been
trending
at
that,
so
that
just
proves
the
vaccine's
working.
You
know
superbly
well,
which
is
which
is
great
and
our
vaccinations
are
up
to
over
around
about
800
000
people.
You
know
vaccinated
now,
so
just
hugely
encourage
anyone
to
to
go
and
get
their
vaccine
and
thanks
to
everybody
from
the
nhs
and
the
volunteers,
making
that
such
a
success.
Okay,
we've
got
some
questions
coming
in
now,
mohan.
A
If
you
would
like
to
introduce
yourself
and
your
and
your
fourth
place
with
some
questions,
to
get
to
cheers.
Yeah.
B
Yeah
hi
good
afternoon,
everybody
councillor,
mohanna
anger,
hi
portfolio,
holder
for
tourism,
leisure
culture,
including
seafront,
absolute
pleasure
to
join
you
it's
the
second
one,
I've
done
and
just
I
thought
I
enjoyed
the
last
one
and
obviously
went
okay
because
I've
been
invited
back,
but
I
won't
take
too
much
time,
just
I'm
coordinating
on
behalf
of
four
particular
cabinet
members
and
obviously
with
drew
and
a
whole
load
of
the
officers,
what
we're
doing
not
just
on
the
sea
front
but
back
from
the
seafront
as
well
into
the
town
centres
to
keep
things
as
orderly
as
we
can
as
clean
and
as
safe
and
as
orderly
as
we
can.
B
B
So
you
know
with
that
we'll
roll
through
to
summer
and
let's
the
questions
have
already
started,
drew
we
can
start
picking
up
we'll
pick
it
up
on
some
of
these,
and
I
think,
if
shall
I
kick
off
her
ben
ben,
a
couple
of
questions,
and
actually,
I
think,
louise
just
two
down
came
in
on
this,
which
was
about
the
speedway
and
maybe
drew
both
of
us
can
actually
answer
this.
One
one
is,
you
know,
are
we
behind
the
speedway?
B
If
I
can
paraphrase
ben
yeah,
we
we
absolutely
are
on
this
one
and
I
think
the
your
first
question.
The
number
of
it
is
around
literally
the
masks
and
what
kind
of
covid
is
in
place.
I
mean
largely.
C
B
I
think
it's
reasonable,
largely
that's
between
the
speedway,
the
pool
pirates
obviously
gave
gaming
international.
Who
is
the
owner?
It's
for
them
as
to
exactly
the
detail
of,
what's
being
of
what
regime
needs
to
be
in
place
there
and,
of
course,
that's
all
a
matter
of
also
national
guidelines
as
well.
It's
not
something
where
actually,
the
council's
directly
intervened
in
that
I've
got
to
say,
because
I've
been
fairly
close
to
this
one
with
with
matt
ford
and
also
with
gaming
international
themselves.
B
Just
on
the
one
there
was
a
follow
on
drew
just
about.
Okay,
in
a
sense
that
we
you
know,
have
we
got
an
eye
on
housing,
etcetera
for
that
stadium.
Do
you
like
a
comment
on
that
literally?
What
is
this.
A
Yeah,
absolutely
we
really
have
to
comment
on
it
and
just
be.
You
know
just
to
be
really
clear:
we're
we're
massively
behind
the
paul
speedway.
We
think
it's
really
important.
You
know
in
the
town,
but
there
is
a
development
plan
around
that
site
which
which
we,
which
we're
abreast
of
we've,
been
clear,
but
you
know
we're
unlikely
to
be
supposed
to
support
anything
that
didn't
have
us
the
speedway
properly
located
so
yeah
just
to
be
really
clear
entirely
for
it
and
you
know,
and
we
actually
had
an
email
from
the.
A
I
think
it
was
matt
ford,
saying
how
weed
our
intervention
at
a
political
level
had
actually
helped
the
speedway
open
up.
So
I
think
I
think,
we're
all
on
on
page
there
mohammed,
which
is,
which
is
which
is
great:
okay,
let's,
let's
look
so
hopefully
that
helps.
A
Question
ben:
I
hope
we
can't
be
more
emphatic
than
that.
Okay,
so
we've
had
a
question
from
john
chaliner
toilets
on
the
seafront,
especially
between
the
piers
john
thanks,
very
much
for
for
the
question.
Firstly,
as
part
of
our
summer
readiness
plan,
we've
put
over
three
hundred
thousand
pounds
of
expenditure
in
into
upgrading
the
toilets
on
the
sea
front
so
that
the
the
most
tired
facilities
are
being
you
know,
modernized
now,
so
people
should
start
to
be
able
to
see
that
which
is
which
is
great.
A
We
will
do
more,
but
we
just
have
to
do
some
of
the
style,
we're
looking
at
a
project
that
links
effectively
a
massive
regeneration
project
around
port
key
and
how
that
can
link
up
through
the
parks
and
then
along
to
a
a
prom
widening
project
on
on
the
on
the
promenade
effectively.
So
in
that
there
will
be
an
opportunity
to
look
at
our
facilities
on
a
longer
term.
So,
yes,.
A
We're
doing
work
now
to
make
them
better
medium
term.
We
can
stand
up
new
facilities
if
there
are
particular
problems
in
particular
spots,
and
I've
personally
asked
for
it
for
a
toilet
to
be
putting
on
paul
key
toilet
provision
to
be
opened
on
paul
key
this
summer.
Please
let
us
know,
because
because
we
can
stand
up
temporary
provision
if,
if
we
needed
to
so
thanks
john
for
for
that
question,
yeah.
B
Actually,
coming
on
the
back
of
that
just
to
the
our
senior
officer
on
that
actually
said
that
they're
sort
of,
when
I
say
quite
advanced
on
the
thinking-
it's
not
quite
done
yet
about
some
temporary
provision
on
paul
key
there's
a
few
steps
to
go
through
on
that,
because
it
is
recognized
that
it's
a
little
bit.
You
know
we
could
do
with
some
more,
especially
when
it
builds
up
when
the
events
start
coming
and
the
one
about
between
the
peers.
B
John,
this
thing
about
you
know
where
we've
got
sort
of
where
the
east
cliff
is
also
rather
dearly.
Chime,
there's
something
there
still
to
be
addressed.
I
think
it's
fair
to
say
on
the
toilet
provision,
just
if
we
just
pick
up
with
some
of
the
early
ones
christine
just
how
do
I
volunteer
to
take
part
in
the
kobe
vaccine,
booster
trial,
I'll,
tell
you
what
I've
got
the
detail
on
my
head
christine?
If
you've
got
you
know,
you've
got
either
my
old
drew's,
email
or
andy
who's.
B
A
I've
got
a
question
from
steve.
I
think
it's
telling
me
so
if
and
what
steve's
asking
is
with
a
climate
emergency
declared
back
in
july
2019.
When
can
we
expect
to
see
a
climate
action
plan?
Football?
Full
council,
please
steve
delighted
to
say
that
actually,
the
in
the
next
cabinet
cycle,
which
is
our
we
do
a
a
quarterly
budget,
update
we're
actually
committing.
So
we
put
an
extra
two
hundred
and
forty
thousand
pounds
into
the
the
climate
resource
effectively
in
our
budget
in
february.
A
We've
now
decided,
you
know
decided.
We
need
to
go
need
to
go
further
than
that
effectively.
Our
financial
performance
has
been
really
strong,
so
the
council's
performing
well
financially.
So
we're
going
to
put
some
of
that
headroom
into
into
climate
emergency,
so
the
next
cabinet
cycle
will
have
us
doubling
effectively
the
amount
of
money
we
we
were
putting
into
that
and
we're
also
bringing
forward
a
paper
which
we
expect
to
hit
cabinet
in
in
september,
which
actually
talks
about
a
much
bigger,
bolder,
green
and
climate
strategy
effectively.
A
Some
there's
some
really
exciting
things
in
in
that
and
so
more
money
coming
into
it.
As
a
as
of
literally,
I
think
it
gets
goes
into
public
domain
tomorrow
and
then
in
september,
we're
expecting
a
a
sustainability
cabinet
paper
as
well.
So
I
hope
that
helps
okay.
B
I'll
pick
up
on
susan
lennon's
comment:
there
just
you're
concerned
there
about
barbecues
and
also
about
dogs
off
leads
and
so
on.
You've
refered
referred
to
kingfisher
barn
staff,
very
walk.
Okay,
are
you?
B
You
know,
there's
a
hell
of
a
lot
been
increased
in
terms
of
the
vigilance
on
both
things:
actually,
the
dogs
off
leeds
thinking,
particularly
the
seafront
and
the
town
centers,
and
so
on.
Okay,
what
you're
flagging
there
is:
okay,
it's
not
as
good
as
it
quite
should
be
in
that
location.
Okay,
we'll
take
this
on
board
and
we'll
we'll
put
the
officers
there
on
that
one.
So
thank
you
for
your
comment.
I
hope
you'll
acknowledge.
B
A
Yeah
and
just
on
susan
point
as
well,
you
know,
I
think,
it's
third
stage-
we've
had
a
really
good
partnership
approach
with
the
with
the
police
and
other
other
agencies.
So
our
you
know,
multi
agency
command
center
has
been
it's
been
great.
We've
reflected
on
that
with
us
senior
police
officers
this
morning.
After
some
reflection
and-
and
you
know,
they're
reporting
it
being
positive-
we
are
as
well
so
the
earlier.
We
know
about
things.
We
are
more
able
to
move
resource
around
now.
A
So
please,
but
by
all
means
comment
on
that.
Okay,
I
had
a
question
from
a
is
it
shell.
A
Yeah,
which
is
about
effectively
bournemouth,
had
a
lot
of
in
investment
in
it.
Can
we
have
some
for
paul?
Paraphrasing
absolutely
absolutely,
I
think
I
said
on
the
recent
police.
Facebook
live
that
we've
literally
thrown
a
kitchen
sink
at
paul,
an
intensive.
We
had
actually
some
really
great
news
today.
A
Anybody
might
have
seen
in
the
eco
and
andy
lennox
and
their
brand
new,
sarah
thai,
so
ex
kotai
founder
they're,
coming
into
paul
in
a
big
way
which,
which
is
which
is
fantastic
so
and
he's
putting
that
effectively
that
there
was
a
our
commitment
to
invest
in
paul,
has
meant
that
he's
now
prepared
and
that
group
are
now
prepared
to
come
in
coming
behind
that
commitment.
So
just
do
a
few
quick
things.
A
One
we've
done
a
put
a
decent
amount
of
money
into
the
pool
bid
who
have
led
on
a
lot
of
the
sort
of
tidy
up
stuff.
So
it's
you
know,
so
that's
happening
we're
bringing
forward
a
project,
as
I
said
earlier,
about
how
we
can
really
invest
in
the
key
and
use
our
futures
fund,
which
is
a
50
million
pounds
of
funding
we've
created
to
to
invest
in
and
bring
our
places
back
up.
A
You
know
to
be
the
sort
of
world-class
places
they
should
be
so
paul's
going
to
be
at
the
center
of
that
and
our
big
plan.
You
know
five
key
areas
of
how
we're
going
to
make
a
world-class
city
region.
One
of
those
five
areas
is
pool
so
pool
rejuvenation.
So
it's
the
only
of
the
three
towns.
Actually
that's
been
been
singled
out
because
look,
we
know
mohan
and
I
both
you
know
previous
poor
councillors,
there's
a
visit.
A
You
know
it's
huge
amount
of
potential
in
paul
and
we,
when
we're
gonna,
you
know,
leave
no
stone
unturned
in
materially
making
a
difference
as
soon
as
possible,
so
yeah.
Hopefully
that
gives
you
some
some
comfort
as
well.
B
Yeah,
can
I
just
add
on
that
one?
I
suppose
that
you
know.
I
think
it's
not
now
to
forgive
me.
If
I'm
your
first
name
correctly,
is
that
I
think
that
I
think
it
is
looking
better.
I
don't
think
I'm
you
know
trying
to
sound
all
too
rosy
about
this,
but
you
know
you
go
down.
I
was
literally
there
this
morning
walking
down
to
grab
a
bacon,
early,
bacon,
butting,
and
so
on.
I
mean
it's
looking
a
lot
nicer.
It's
got
further
to
go
most.
B
A
I
just
finished
on
that
as
well.
Actually
so,
there's
with
our
program
in
two
weeks
time
we're
hoping
to
have
councillor
baby
dunlop
with
with
us
to
talk
about
something
called
festival,
coast,
live
and
that's
a
moment
probably
might
know
the
numbers
more.
But
it's
it's
a
it's
a
number
of
events.
You
know
hundreds
of
events.
B
A
We're
aiming
for
700
across
the
of
the
whole
summer,
so
that'll
start
with
the
lockdown
easing
at
the
back
end
of
june,
and
you
know
paul
loads
of
events
in
pool
loads
of
events
in
bournemouth
and
loads
of
events
in
christchurch
so
trying
to
really
animate
the
whole
place
as
as
as
well.
So,
hopefully,
that's
that's
helpful.
B
B
Well,
james,
I
think
james
hayden's,
you
you've,
put
in
a
gather
from
this.
You,
you
must
be
one
of
our
staff
members
james.
Thank
you
for
what
you're
doing.
I
think
you've
got
a
couple
of
concerns
there.
What
I'll
do
is,
let's,
let's,
let's
take
these
away,
and
these
will
be
picked
up
if
there's
something
there
about
okay,
the
rostering
and
so
on
the
equipment,
and
so
we'll
we'll
pick
that
up.
B
If
that's
all
right,
that's
the
right
way
of
handling
that
and
just
one
second,
just
coming:
okay,
charlotte
yeah,
there's
a
nice.
I
think
there
you
go
andy
lennox
I'll,
be
very
pleased
with
your
comment,
charlotte
there
and
you
signed.
Thank
you
very
much.
Okay,
sorry.
C
A
No
fine,
okay,
great
so
and
nice
to
say
that
we've
had
christine's
had
an
answer
now
in
terms
of
how
to
respond
to
the
to
the
vaccine
and
trial.
We've
got
james
haynes,
asking
a
question
about
what
we're
doing
about
recruitment
james.
If
you
could
re
write
that
question
and
recruitment
in
terms
of
what
recruitment
effectively
and
that
would
be
really
helpful
and
then
we're
we'll
come
back
to
you.
A
Claire
howard's
asked
a
question
around
what
we're
doing
to
resolve
the
student
noise
issue
in
in
winton
claire.
Thank
you
very
much
for
that.
What
will
what
we
you
know?
We
work
really
closely
with
universities
and
I've
got
to
say.
Bournemouth
university
and
ian
jones
in
that
team
are
absolutely
fantastic
partner
in
trying
to
work
with
us
on
on
those
antisocial,
behavior
issues.
What
you
know
what
we
so
we're
trying
to
work
really
collaboratively
with
them.
A
We've
also
put
in
a
number
of
new
community
css
officers
which
are
effective.
They
have
some
form
of
policing
powers
and
that's
target
and
they're
targeted
at
how
we
can
have
more
of
a
presence
in
terms
of
stopping
antisocial
behavior.
So
we
will
so
we're
doing
quite
a
bit
okay.
A
What
I'll
also
do
is
I'll
I'll
re-touch
base
again
with
our
team
in
environmental
health
and
ian
jones
from
from
bournemouth
university
and
see
if
those
that
problems
escalated
more
recently
or
not,
but
and
if
it
is
by
always,
please
feel
free
to
come
back
into
us.
B
I'll
just
go
back
to
an
early
one.
If
I
made
laura,
you
talked
here
about
the
the
grants
and
particularly
mentioned
a
bevels
club.
I
think
the
thing
on
here.
B
This
is
quite
a
complex
thing
that
I
don't
want
to
sort
of
spend
too
long
on
right
now,
but
if
you'd
like
to
just,
I
can
put
you
in
touch
with
the
senior
officer
dealing
with,
and
maybe
a
conversation
needs
to
be
had
so
maybe,
if
sort
of
you're
looking
at
this
and
you're
thinking,
your
circumstances
are
sort
of
falling
between
two
situations
and
whether
there's
no
money
or
literally
it's
like
you,
don't
seem
to
fit
in
either
category.
Let's
see
if
we
can
resolve
that
laura.
A
Yeah,
thank
you
just
on
the
grants
effectively.
You
know
so.
We've
had
in
another
hugely
busy
busy
month
in
terms
of
grants,
so
the
exceptional
circumstances
fund,
768k
people
have
been,
and
that's
particularly
for
people
that
have
sort
of
fallen
between
the
cracks
effectively.
A
Who
haven't
been
able
to
receive
any
grant
help
so
far,
so
people
have
been
advised
this
week
and
it
it
might
run
over
into
next
week,
but
certainly
within
the
next
week
we've
been
successful
on
that
we've
had
another
another
pot
of
seven
hundred
thousand
pounds
which
we've
asked
it's
about,
bouncing
back
better
effectively
and
and
again
people
have
been
either
told
or
are
being
told
in
the
next
week,
and
we've
got
some
really
innovative
things.
You
know
coming
forward
with
that.
A
How
we
can
support
businesses
who
want
to
come
out
of
this
with
a
with
a
you
know,
a
flourish
effectively
because
we
need
to
don't
we.
You
know
we
really
really
need
to
support
support
our
economy,
but
by
all
means
you
know
we'll
get
back
to
you
as
well.
In
terms
of
other
other
streams
available,
one
of
our
colleagues
will
put
down
in
in
the
chat
bar
as
well.
Okay,
I
had
a
question
just
to
find
it
about.
Why?
Don't
you
start
from
barbara
diolo?
A
Why
don't
you
use
some
of
the
money
you've
been
given
to
build,
affordable
homes
informative,
instead
of
allowing
huge
corporation
corporations
to
buy
up
and
make
properties
that
only
the
rich
could
afford
yeah
really
really
good
question
actually
and
really
timely.
We
at
cabinet.
Last
week
we
just
approved
our
urban.
A
Company
effectively,
so
the
concept
of
that,
so
we
put
two
million
pounds
a
year,
more
resource
into
regeneration,
and
the
deployment
of
that
is
going
to
be
through
this,
our
urban
regeneration
company,
which
is
going
to
be
100
owned
by
the
council
and
what
it's
going
to
do.
But
the
idea
around
that
is
bring
some
of
the
most
amazing
talent
in
terms
of
play,
shaping
you
know,
particularly,
and
also
accelerating
delivery
of
some
of
the
schemes.
A
We've
got
a
huge
amount
of
land,
and
particularly
because
we're
now
three
councils
into
into
one
we've
got
some
quite
a
lot
of
vacant
property.
So
so
we're
now
absolutely
well
placed
to
to
start
getting
quality
development
that
we're
leading
on
and
we're
often
doing
we
can
often
do
it
ourselves,
so
so
barbara.
What
we're
trying
to
do
is
to
actively
get
into
you,
know,
regeneration
and
play
shaping
that
will
include
affordable
housing
and
at
scale
like
a
lot
of
it.
A
You
know
we,
you
know-
and
we
believe
you
know,
there's
an
urban
densification
argument
which
say
it
saves
some
of
the
land
in
our
green
belt.
So
so
we're
absolutely
doing
it.
What
we're
also
doing
is
hopefully
giving
allowing
confidence
in
you
know
local
corporations
and
national.
You
know
huge
ones,
all
small
ones,
confidence
to
invest,
so
we
very
much
see
regeneration
as
about
leadership,
vision
and
partnership,
so
so
we're
trying
to
provide
division,
some
leadership,
and
then
we
want
other
people.
A
So
I
would
slightly
disagree
with
your
influence
around
you
know:
don't
want
huge
corporations,
we
want
everybody
to
be
investing
in
in
bcp
because
it
should
be.
You
know
the
best
place
in
the
uk
to
be,
and
and
it's
absolutely
our
ambition
that
it
will
be
so
in
summary,
lots
happening.
We
will
be
building
a
a
load
of
affordable
homes.
We
will
be
bought,
you
know,
building
other
homes
and
encouraging
other
people
to
too
so,
hopefully,
that's
at
least
some
positivity
in
in
that
answer.
Thank
you,
barbara
okay,.
B
Just
well
charlotte,
it
was
three
four
minutes
ago
include
high
cliff
in
this
area.
Here.
High
cliff
here
is
most
certainly
in
bcp
area.
I'll
just
say
yes
to
that
so
charlotte,
because
he
raised
a
sort
of
broader
point,
needs
a
lake
sorting
urgently
and
so
on
the
natural
space.
So
it's
good,
it's
absolutely
within
our
remit,
and
just
thanks
for
the
prompt
I
have
a
feeling
charlotte
you'll,
be
back
to
see
what
we've
done
with
that
at
some
point
in
the
future.
B
I
think
barbara's
question
that
was
covered.
Do
the
wheels
festival.
Do
you
know
something
dave
king
I've
gone
a
blank,
I'm
afraid
where
we've
got
to
with
the
wheels
festival
I've
forgotten
I
yeah.
A
Yeah,
the
point
is,
and
we've
got
a
huge
amount
of
extra
events
coming
as
well.
What
about
partners
in
supporting
the
events
that
we
had?
Historically
so
so
you
know
I'd
be
amazed.
If
we
weren't
able
to
support
the
world
festival,
there's
a
question
we
can.
We
can
take
away
and
beverly
can
can
answer
when
she's
here
in
a
fortnight's
time,
but
we're
trying
to
get
that.
A
You
know,
support
all
the
existing
events
and
do
an
absolute
ton
more,
and
we
put
three
quarters
of
a
million
pounds
in
to
be
able
to
support
groups
and
and
not-for-profit
agencies
to
be
able
to
deliver
events
this
year
this
summer.
So
so
I
would
be
positive,
but
we
don't
know,
we
don't
quite
know
the
answer
so,
but
it
should
be
okay.
Louise
dalrymple
has
asked
this
question
about
landlords
or
shops
in
their
flats.
Above
you
know,.
A
This
is
a
really
interesting
point
effectively
we're
we've
started
a
program
when
we
came
into
administration
in
our
first
100
days.
You
know
we
said:
we've
got
an
absolute
commitment
to
you
know
bringing
pride
back
into
our
area
so
clean
it
cleaning
up
tiny
effectively.
A
We
put
a
lot
of
resource
into
christchurch
because
in
terms
of
street
cleaning,
because
that
they
were
well
below
the
standards
of
the
rest
of
the
conventional
street
cleaning,
so
we
did
quite
a
lot
of
initial
investment
getting
the
place
up,
2a
standard,
it's
still,
as
we've
said
before,
there's
a
huge
amount
to
go
and
it
is
our
political
priority
to
bring
pride
back
into
our
our
place.
So
what
we've
done?
A
We've
set
up
a
a
group
of
over
bids
business
improvement
districts
and
it's
something
that
I
chair
now
with
with
them
and
our
on
our
offices
and
it's
about
exactly
what
you're
talking
about
louise
it's
about
going
that
next
step
further.
So
so
what
physical
stuff
can
we
do
and
that
might
involve
getting
rid
of
some?
You
know
street
furniture,
that's
that's!
You
know
dirty
or
you
know
or
broken
or
and
and
what
it
definitely
will
do
is
talk
about.
A
You
know
it
put
more
painting
on
lampposts
and
you
know
painting
railings
effectively,
because
we
need
to
get
those.
You
know.
Environmental
hygiene
factors
factors
right.
The
initial
focus
is
on
the
three
town
centres
and
then
very
quickly.
A
Out
of
that,
we've
got,
I
think,
is
it
I
think
17
other
sort
of
centers,
like
you
know,
actually
road
effectively,
so
so
we're
we're
piloting
a
project
in
the
first
project,
actually
in
paul
paultown
center,
we'll
bring
it
out
to
the
other
town
centres
and
then
we
bring
it
out
to
ashley
road.
So
I
apologize
that
that
answer.
Isn't
we're
going
to
do
it
tomorrow,
but
it
is.
We
are
absolutely
putting
a
huge
amount
of
resource
into
doing
exactly
what
you're
talking
about
louise
and
again.
A
Hopefully,
if
we
do
that,
and
other
people
will
start
investing
and
and
doing
that
as
well.
So
louise,
I
hope,
that's
a
you
know
I
believe
some
some
used
to,
but
thank
you
very
much
for
the
for
the
question.
B
Okay,
can
I
pick
up
on
the
one
from
baja
the
the
area,
hospitality
association?
I
wonder
if
it's
tin
there
pending
this
one,
if
you
are
hi
tim,
we're
in
contact
all
the
time
with
with
bahar
on
this
one,
and
in
fact
this
came
about
the
last
meeting,
which
is
what
can
we
do
to
assist
with
the
whole
sort
of
skill
shortage
and
across
all
all
the
different
professions
within
hospitality?
B
Yes,
we've
got
a
shortage
and
yes
as
you're
recognizing
it's
across
the
uk
as
well,
but
there's
two
things
here:
one
is
the
immediate
thing,
and
I
know
bar
has
done
great
work
to
sort
of
mobilize
like
jobs
board
and
something
collaborative
across
all
the
not
just
hotels
but
the
restaurants
and
other
sort
of
hospitality
providers,
which
is
how
can
actually
job
vacancies
and
zombie
be
advertised
and
sort
of
given
given
a
hell
of
a
lot
more
sort
of
you
know,
publicity.
B
The
second
thing
is,
though,
is
you
know,
you'll
know,
baja
that
we're
putting
together
trying
to
refine
what's
the
destination
strategy
and
the
seafoam
strategy,
and
the
large
part
of
that
is
the
whole
people
theme
around
it,
and
this
is
not
some
sort
of
highfalutin
in
you
know
way
way
years
ahead
kind
of
thing:
it's
something
literally
this
year
next
year
over
the
next
two
to
three
years.
B
How
can
we
work
with
bournemouth
and
paul
college,
for
instance,
and
others
to
actually
interest
people
in
all
the
professions
around
tourism,
hospitality
and
so
on,
because
we
need
to
make
a
permanent
improvement
in
the
number
and
the
quality
of
the
workforce.
We've
got
working
in
tourism,
and
this
is
back
of
the
whole
principle
of
being
literally
one
of
the
premier
results,
not
just
in
the
uk
but
internationally
as
well,
and
part
of
that.
B
Absolutely
central
to
that
is
a
a
set
of
people
who
absolutely
take
pride
in
being
here
absolutely
skilled
and
they
want
to
stay.
They
want
to
be
here.
They
earn
good
wages
and
their
fabulous
jobs.
So
look
we're
with
you
on
that
one,
but
there's
a
short
term
and
there's
a
longer
term
thing
with
it
as
well
so
yeah
anything
you
want
to
come
in
on
yeah.
A
Just
just
really
briefly
to
underline
exactly
what
you
said
mohan,
so
I
met
the
principal
of
you
know,
sat
down
with
board
football
college
and
I've
also
sat
down
secretary
of
economic
development
officers,
we're
bringing
we
will
be,
bringing
forward
a
massive
plan
around
skills,
because
it's
exactly
if
you're
creating
a
world-class
city
region.
We
need
our
kids
to
stay
here,
but
we
need
our
kids
to
have
jobs
and
careers
as
well.
A
You
know,
and
that's
partly
because
we've
got
you
know
three
three
great
universities,
but
also
you
know
in
terms
of
the
college
and
skills
as
well,
so
and
and
also
tim
seaworth
who's.
Baja
keep
keep
talking
to
us
about
it
effectively.
You
know,
we've
got
a
plan,
you
need
to
feed
into
that,
and
then
we
can,
you
know,
try
and
make
it
work.
Man.
I've
got
a
question
from
from
lucy
allen.
I'd
like
to
like
to
ask
answer:
lucy's
saying
you
know
we're
short
of
housing
and
development.
A
But
effectively
can
we
get
some
small
urban
green
spaces
parks
as
part
of
these
plans.
Yet
lucy
yeah
absolutely
fully
agree
with
you.
A
well
a
world-class
city
region.
Isn't
just
a
block
of
you
know,
blocks
and
blocks
of
flats?
It's
got
to
be
a
place.
It's
going
to
be
a
wonderful
place.
A
We've
are
you
know,
sitting
alongside
our
big
plan
for
for
development,
which
is
you
know,
13
000,
new
homes
and
15
000
new
jobs
in
a
five-year
period
is
something
we're
calling
cleaner,
greener
safer.
So
so
it's
it's
the
evolution
of
what
we've
talked
about
with
our
pride
in
the
place
piece.
We
want
the
places
across
the
bcp
to
be
cleaner.
We
want
them
to
be
safer
and
that's
why
we
put
you
know
a
lot
of
resource
into
our
csas
officers
and
bringing
forward
some
pspos
around
alcohol.
A
You
know
youth
et
cetera,
but
the
key
net
is
greener,
so
we're
putting
a
massive
investment
forward
in
our
we're
expecting
to
announce
in
our
september,
cabinet
and
council
paper
around.
You
know
climate
emergency,
but
key
huge
amount
of
research
in
this,
and
it
is
around
we
need.
We
need,
we
feel
happier
if
we
are
in
touch
with
nature
every
day
and
it
talks
about
being.
You
know.
Nature
needs
to
be
small,
medium
and
large.
So
so
we
need
to
have
parks.
A
We
need
to
have
big
parks,
that's
great,
but
we
also
need
as
we're
walking
through
towns
with
you
know
more
trees
effectively
we
planted
it
as
part
of
a
hundred
days.
We
planted.
You
know
in
fact,
thousands
of
new
trees,
which
is
great
we're
gonna,
do
a
lot
more
of
it.
So
it's
part
of
that
curation
lucy
of
that
world-class
city
region.
It's
gonna
be
clean,
it's
gonna
be
green,
it's
gonna
be
safe
and,
and
we're
really
excited
about
some
of
the
things
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
do
with
it.
B
Just
pick
on
the
other
one
lucy
your
early
question
and
just
about
the
big,
the
bournemouth
international
center,
you
know
respectfully
disagree
in
fact
you
know.
Does
it
need
to
be
beside
the
sea
well
kind
of
no,
it
doesn't.
But
okay,
that's
what
it
is
right
at
the
moment.
B
Recurrently
I
hear
and
it's
a
view
I
agree
with
as
well,
which
is
the
usp
a
unique
selling
proposition
around,
where
we've
got
a
major
conference
com
events
hub,
which
is
that
it's
right
by
the
sea
there
and
I
think,
that's
actually
a
positive
it's
rather
than
something
which
is
oh.
Does
it
need
to
be
there?
It
can
be
somewhere
else
and,
of
course,
some
thought
well,
could
it
be
by
the
train
station
and
so
on?
We
we've
been
through
all
those
discussions.
B
There
is
something
absolutely
unique
about
its
location
right
now
and
the
fault,
if
I
may
respectfully
that
we've
got
at
the
moment,
is
first
of
all
the
building
in
a
sense
is
you
know
it
could
deal
with
something
doing
to
it,
because
it
was.
It
was
great
in
its
era,
I
suppose,
and
now
we
need
to
sort
of
be
more
progressive
with
it
and
forward-looking.
B
But
the
second
thing
is
we're
not
making
actually
making
the
most
of
the
location
where
it
is
right
now
and
there's
no
reason
why
at
that
venue
the
right
size
with
the
right
kind
of
things
around
it
as
well.
It
shouldn't
be
an
absolutely
eminent
venue,
and
then
people
come
out
and
they're
on
the
seafront
or
on
the
west
bernard
and
so
on.
So
actually
I
would
keep
it
where
it
is
site-wise,
but
it
needs
a
hell
of
a
lot
of
rethinking
that
whole
thing.
Yeah.
A
So
so,
just
on
on
that
lucy's
question,
then
just
so
effectively
we're
absolutely
up
for
thinking
about
where
things
can
go.
You
know
and
that's
part
of
the
point
around
having
an
urban
rig.
You
know
two
million
pounds
of
of
top
talent
to
help
us
look
at
how
we
can
rejuvenate
the
area.
We've
got
a
huge
amount
of
you
know.
We
call
them.
A
You
know
effective
chess
pieces
which
so
we
can
move
things
around
and
we
can
take
that
whole
bcp
context
and
we
are
absolutely
committed
to
redeveloping
the
bit
where
it
lands
and
that
could
perfectly
well
be
where
it
is
and
but
we're
we're
all
is
and
we're
just
gonna
deliver
a
great
place.
I've
got
a
question
from
charlotte
skinner,
mohan
and
then
perhaps
you'd
have
scans.
A
If
there's
anything
anything
else
before
before
we
close,
we've
only
got
a
couple
of
minutes
left,
charlotte
skinner
and
also,
I
think,
he's
connected
to
a
marion,
haynes
question.
Please
could
you
let
us
know
what
you're
planning
to
do
to
help
with
the
roads
and
infrastructure
for
all
these
new
properties
being
built
yeah
except
so
charlotte.
A
Thanks
for
the
question
I've
talked
about
it
briefly
earlier,
but
as
part
of
our
big
plan,
the
resource
behind
our
big
plan,
which
involves
fifteen
thousand
homes,
sorry,
thirteen
thousand
homes,
fifteen
thousand
jobs
and
three
billion
of
investment.
What
we?
What
we're
doing
to
support
that?
Is
we
put
forward
a
50
million
pound
futures
fund
effectively?
So
that's
that's
our
money
which
we
were
able
to
invest
our
discretion
on
on
infrastructure,
primarily
so
part
of
that
will
be
on
you
know,
on
road
infrastructure
on,
you
know,
active
active
travel
infrastructure.
A
How
we
get
people
around
part
of
that
is
around.
You
know
also
sort
of
connectivity
infrastructure
as
well,
so
we're
able
to
now
in
a
position.
We've
never
been
able
to
be
before
because
of
the
approach
we've
taken
to
the
council's
finances
and
a
strong
performance
that
we're
we're
delivering
on
finance,
we're
now
able
to
invest
in
infrastructure
alongside
it.
On
top
of
that,
we're
going
to
ask
for
government
money
to
we've
just
been
successful.
A
You
know,
100
million
pounds
is
going
into
the
transforming
travel
so
that
so
that's
a
huge
amount
of
investment
in
investment
as
well.
So
it's
absolutely
no
point
building
stuff
if
it
isn't
hasn't,
got
the
infrastructure
around
it.
We're
committed
to
doing
that
to
charlotte.
So
I
hope
that
helps
mohamed,
we're
we're
at
half
one
now
is
there
anything
you
wanted
to
answer
before
we
close.
B
I
don't
think
so.
I
think
what
you've
covered
there
drew
actually
picked
up
a
few
of
the
ones
below.
I
was
just
quickly
scanning
some
of
the
others
and
that
to
do
with
sort
of
the
the
the
fear,
the
concern
about
over
development
and
congestion
and
so
on
and
so
forth,
and
the
transforming
travel
is
just
well
given
the
time
we've
got
is
the
is,
is
one
of
our
answers
to
that?
I'm
just
trying
to
think.
Is
there
anything
else
at
all?
B
Okay,
we're
at
the
half
hour,
but
look.
Look
thanks
thanks
everybody
thanks
for
your
questions.
I
know
we
start
with
summer
readiness
and
then
naturally
we
go
into
a
whole
load
of
other
things,
but
it's
what
people's
minds.
So
thank
you
so
much.
You
know
really
nice
to
be
here.
Yeah
thanks.
A
So
much-
and
I
think
thank
you
for
your
time-
oh
and
that's
great,
just
as
in
in
closing
affected
a
couple
of
things
wanted
to
to
sort
of
flag.
One
is
that
in
two
weeks
time
we're
hoping
to
talk
about
festival,
coast
live
which
should
be
seriously
exciting
for
us.
So
please,
please
tune
in
in
a
couple
weeks
time
we're
really
keen.
Now
we've
got
a
different
format.
How
we
can
bring
people
into
this,
as
you
can
see
today,
it
looks
slightly
different
than
than
it
used
to.
A
We
can
bring
many
more
people
in
effectively,
so
I'm
really
keen
to
get
ideas
from
from
from
you
guys,
it's
about
saying
what
you'd
like
to
you
know.
Who
would
you
like
to
be
here?
What
type
of
stuff
would
you
like
us
to
to
talk
about,
and
then
the
last
thing
I
just
wanted
to
flag?
Is
we've
now
got
over
30
000
downloads
of
our
beach
check
app,
and
it
is
it's
really
you
know
we
could
see
over
the
weekend.
A
Sandbanks
was
red,
you
know
great,
so
then
don't
go
to
sandbags,
move
along
to
some
amber
and
green
areas.
So
for
more
people
that
are
checking
the
beach
checkout
before
we
go
into
into
you
know,
go
to
the
beach
effectively.
It
will
really
help
us.
You
can
get
parking
information
there
as
well.
It
should
be
just
a
really
useful
tool,
so
so
please,
as
many
people
as
possible,
go
and
download
the
beach
check
out
check
it
out.
I
think
it'd
be
a
really.
You
know:
we've
got
so
much
beach.
A
You
know
we
just
need
to
probably
use
it.
Use
it
a
bit
more
so
anyways.
A
Thank
you
for
your
time,
we'll
get
to
some
of
the
questions
and
we
really
appreciate
it.
Thank
you.
Take
care
thanks.
