A
A
You
do
need
one
of
these
craft
bags
to
follow
along
with
these
activities,
so
these
activities
include
a
sea
otter,
a
cd
sunfish,
a
seal
and
a
turtle
don't
forget
to
pop
down
to
one
of
our
bcp
libraries
this
summer,
because
we
have
lots
and
lots
of
new
books
for
you
all
for
this
year's
summer
reading
challenge
and
there
are
picture
books
books
with
information
on
how
to
save
the
planet,
storybooks,
lots
and
lots
of
new
books,
especially
for
this
summer.
Reading
challenge.
A
A
Seals
have
a
layer
of
fat
under
their
skin
called
blubber,
which
keeps
them
warm
in
cold
temperatures.
Their
thick
fur
coat
is
streamlined
for
gliding
through
water,
their
whiskers
help
them
detect
their
prey.
Seals
mainly
live
in
water.
They
only
come
ashore
to
mates
and
give
birth
or
to
escape
from
predators
such
as
aqua,
whales
and
sharks.
Some
seals
can
hold
their
breath
for
up
to
two
hours
underwater
by
slowing
their
heartbeat
to
save
oxygen.
This
enables
them
to
sleep
underwater
too.
A
The
rapid
ice
loss
in
the
arctic
causes
seal
pups
to
be
separated
from
their
mothers.
During
the
milking
period.
Hunting
has
also
led
to
the
decline
of
seal
populations.
Seals
are
hunted
for
their
meat,
blubber
and
pelts.
They
are
also
killed
by
fishermen
because
they
believe
this
will
increase
the
fish
population.
A
So
let's
make
our
seal
craft
you'll
need
a
toilet,
roll
tube
for
this
and
the
seal
parts
which
are
in
the
bag
that
you
can
get
from
bournemouth
library
or
you
can
pause
the
video
and
copy
these
yourself,
and
you
will
also
need
some
scissors
glue
and
your
coloring
supplies.
I've
got
my
crayons
here,
but
you
can
use
whatever
you
like.
A
So
first
of
all,
we
need
to
color
our
seal
parts
in
I've
done
mine
lots
of
multi
colors,
because
that's
what
I
wanted
to
do,
but
you
can
color
yours
in
realistic
colors.
If
you
want
to
it's
totally
up
to
you
once
you
are
finished,
you
need
to
take
some
scissors
and
carefully
cut
out
the
parts
and
my
tip
for
you.
If
you
want
to
cut
out
nice
and
neatly,
is
you
turn
the
paper
or
the
card
that
you
are
using?
A
I
have
got
these
on
some
card
because
that
will
make
them
a
little
bit
sturdier
when
you
stick
them
to
the
toilet
roll.
You
need
to
turn
the
paper
or
the
card
rather
than
the
scissors,
and
this
will
give
you
a
nice
neat
cut.
So
once
you
have
finished,
they
will
look
something
like
this
and
then
we
need
to
add
some
slits.
So
we
take
our
seal
head
like
this
and
cut
a
line
up
here
like
that,
and
then
we
need
to
do
the
same
with
the
tail.
So
we
cut
a
slit
here
like
this.
A
So
now
we
need
to
take
our
toilet
roll
and
I
am
decorating
mine.
You
don't
have
to
decorate
yours,
you
maybe
could
add
some
paper
to
cover
it.
You
could
paint
it,
I'm
just
adding
lots
of
little
shapes
with
my
crayons
just
quickly
to
show
you
and
once
it
is
done.
We
can
then
add
our
seal
head
and
tail,
so
we
need
to
take
our
seal
head
and
add
a
bit
of
glue
to
the
top
half
there
and
fold
it
over
to
make
a
tab
like
this.
