From YouTube: How to make mini notebooks with Katy
Description
In this video, Katy from Bournemouth library shows you how to make mini notebooks out of a sheet of paper and a piece of card.
A
Hello,
everyone
and
welcome
back
to
another
BCP
library,
video.
My
name
is
Katie
and
today
I'm
going
to
be
showing
you
how
to
make
these
mini
notebooks
from
a
piece
of
paper
and
just
some
card
for
the
covers
and
I've
made
these
free
designs
here,
but
you
can
do
whatever
you
want
for
your
front
covers
what
I'm
going
to
show
you.
You
can
adapt
to
make
your
own
created
design.
You
don't
have
to
use
the
same
covers
as
me,
so,
let's
just
get
straight
into
it.
A
The
other
way
in
half
like
you
would
for
a
normal
greeting
card
and
make
sure
you
crease
it
again
and
then
do
exactly
the
same
by
bringing
both
sides
into
the
middle
like
I'm
doing
here
so
one
side
in
and
crease
and
the
other
side
in
and
crease.
And
when
you
have
the
mess
you
will
have
16
little
individual
rectangles
here
like
this,
and
those
will
act
as
pages
of
our
notebook.
So
now
you
need
to
fold
it
back
in
half
lengthways
and
cut
along
these
three
creases
here,
but
only
to
the
next
rectangle.
A
So
you
see
what
I'm
doing
here
just
make
one
cut
all
the
way
up
through
the
next
corner
like
this
and
then
do
the
same
with
the
other
two,
and
once
you
have
done
that,
you
then
need
to
open
out
your
piece
of
paper
follow
what
I'm
doing
on
the
screen,
because
it's
a
little
bit
difficult
to
explain.
But
you
just
cut
along
these
two
lines:
to
open
up
this
rectangle
into
two
rectangles,
so
carefully
cut
along
the
crease
and
just
make
sure
that
you've
got
an
adult.
A
So
maybe
help
you
or
supervise
you
while
you're
doing
this,
because
you
want
to
be
careful
with
scissors,
so
we
just
open
one
like
that
and
just
cut
off
any
excess
bits.
And
then
we
do
the
next
one
like
this.
And
then
you
want
to
fold
both
of
those
pieces
underneath
to
make
a
letter
O
like
I've
done
here
and
then
once
you
have
done
that
fold.
Both
sides
into
the
middle
like
this
and
then
fold
it
in
half
and
this
bit
is
a
bit
tricky.
A
But
you
kind
of
got
to
push
it
together
like
that
to
create
the
book
and
feel
free
to
pause
and
rewind.
So
you
can
see
what
I'm
doing
again,
because
that
bit
is
a
little
bit
tricky.
You
might
have
missed
it,
so
pause
and
rewind.
If
you
want
to-
and
you
can
leave
it
like
this,
if
you
want
to-
or
you
can
trim
the
pages.
But
if
you
trim
the
pages
to
make
more
pages
because
you're
going
to
cut
across
a
fold,
some
of
the
pages
might
fall
out.
A
So
my
tip
is
to
just
cut
along
one
edge
at
a
time,
rather
than
cut
them
all,
and
you
can
just
cut
with
some
scissors
like
that
and
then
any
pages
that
fall
out
you
can
just
glue
in
you
can
glue
in
on
the
page
or
along
the
spine,
but
you
don't
have
to
do
that.
It's
it's
totally
up
to
you.
If
you
just
want
your
book
as
it
is,
you
don't
want
extra
pages,
that's
absolutely
fine!
You
can
do
either
so
I
have
three
notebooks
here.
A
One
I
haven't
done
any
trimming
too,
which
is
that
one
and
two
which
I
have
trimmed
like
this.
To
give
me
some
extra
pages,
but
again
it
doesn't
matter.
You
can
skip
the
trimming
step.
If
you
don't
want
to
do
that.
So
now
we
have
our
notebooks.
Let's
make
some
covers
so
for
the
front
cover
of
your
notebooks.
A
If
you
want
to,
if
you
don't
have
any
card,
that's
absolutely
fine,
you
don't
have
to
use
card
and
for
this
notebook
I'm
just
doing
a
normal
shape,
so
I've
just
added
the
card
and
just
glued
along
the
spine
and
then
stuck
the
card
on
to
the
spine
and
then
I'm,
just
using
a
ruler
and
some
felt-tip
pens
to
do
a
rainbow
design
along
the
front
and
along
the
back
just
a
simple
design,
but
you
can
draw
whatever
you
want.
Maybe
you
want
to
draw
dots?
Maybe
you
want
to
draw
your
favorite
character?
A
Maybe
you
want
to
color
the
whole
thing.
Maybe
you
want
to
add
stickers
on
it's
totally
up
to
you
and
then
once
I
had
got
my
lines
in
place.
I
then
wrote
the
word
notes
on
the
front
in
a
black
pen
and
then
went
round
it
in
silver,
gel
pen
and
you
can
be
as
creative
as
you
want
with
these
notebooks.
If
you
have
lots
of
gel
pens,
lots
of
sparkly,
gel
pens
or
highlighters,
you
can't
just
decorate
it
to
your
individual
tastes,
but
I
just
thought.
A
A
So
for
the
next
cover,
I
am
doing
a
watermelon,
and
for
this
you
need
a
piece
of
card
again
and
fold.
The
piece
of
card
in
half
and
along
the
crease
place
your
notebook
and
draw
around
it,
and
this
will
give
you
the
size
that
your
cover
needs
to
be
and
then
once
I
had
done,
that
I
drew
a
curve
connecting
all
the
corners.
A
So
we
have
a
watermelon
and
then
once
you
have
done
that
you
can
erase
the
initial
draw
around
the
notebook
and
cut
around
the
semicircle,
and
then
you
can
open
it
out
and
color
it
in
and
again
I'm
using
my
felt
tip
pens
for
this
I'm
doing
in
green
to
two
stripes
of
green
around
the
outside
and
then
red
in
the
middle.
A
nice
ready,
pink
color
to
make
it
look
like
a
watermelon,
but
you
can
use
what
you
have.
You
can
use
your
coloring
pencils,
your
crayons,
you
don't
have
to
do
a
watermelon.
A
A
So
that's
why
I'm
doing
a
watermelon
and
then
once
I
had
completely
colored
in
my
notebook
cover,
I
added
some
seeds
with
a
black
pen
and
then
I
used
a
white
pen,
a
white,
gel
pen
and
I
would
recommend
a
white
gel
pen
because
it's
very
good
at
going
over
the
top
pile
felt-tip
pens-
and
you
can
add
some
highlights-
I
added
some
stripes
to
the
skin
and
I
outlined
the
seeds
with
the
white
pen
too.
But
again
you
can
use
whatever
you
have
at
home.
A
You
can
maybe
use
a
white
paint
or
you
can
use
your
gel
pens
or
you
can
use
whatever
you
have
and
you
can
do
whatever
fruit
you
like,
and
once
you
have
completed
your
front
cover.
You
can
then
add
some
glue
to
the
spine
of
the
inside
and
then
add
your
notebook
and
you
can
trim
off
the
very
corners
if
they
are
poking
out
like
mine
is
a
little
bit
here
and
there
is
your
finished
watermelon
notebook
and
this
one
is
a
little
bit
bigger.
A
But
it's
still
nice
and
small
and
it
would
fit
in
your
pencil
case
or
inside
your
book
as
a
bookmark,
and
you
can
write
some
notes
at
the
same
time
and
the
final
design
is
a
little
hat
notebook
and
this
is
the
same
as
the
first
one.
You
do
exactly
the
same
with
the
cover
and
drew
my
cat
face
on
like
this,
with
a
black
pencil
added
some
paws
and
a
piece
of
paper
that
said
notes
and
then
I,
just
colored
in
the
cheeks.
But
again
you
don't
have
to
do
a
cat.
A
You
can
do
a
dog,
you
can
do
a
rabbit.
I
think
mine
ended
up
looking
a
little
bit
like
a
rabbit,
because
I
made
the
ears
a
little
bit
too
big.
But
that's
okay!
You
can
do
a
dog.
You
can
do
a
unicorn.
That
might
be
a
good
one
to
do,
and
then
you
just
need
to
cut
out
two
little
ears
like
I've
done
here
and
then
I
colored
in
the
ears
inside
pink
and
then
just
stuck
them
on
poking
over
the
top
of
the
notebook
like
that.
A
And
if
you
did
a
unicorn,
you
could
add
a
horn
as
well
or
if
you
did
an
alien,
you
can
add
some
antennae.
It's
totally
up
to
you,
but
I
thought
this
design
was
nice
and
cute
and
simple
and
again
can
go
in
your
bag
or
your
pencil
case
or
just
somewhere
in
your
bedroom,
where
you
want
to
keep
a
few
notes,
and
there
is
that
one
finished
as
well.
A
So
I
hope
you
enjoyed
this
video
and
have
some
ideas
to
create
your
own
notebooks.
You
can
do
the
same
as
I've
done
here
or
you
can
adapt
these
designs
to
do
notebook
of
your
favorite
character,
maybe
use
some
stickers
or
cut
out
something
from
a
magazine
or
draw
a
picture
of
your
favorite
animal.
It's
totally
up
to
you.
You
can
be
as
creative
as
you
like,
but
that
is
all
for
today's
craft,
video
and
we'll
see
you
in
the
next
BCP
library,
video.
