BCP Libraries Wriggle & Rhyme

Today’s Wriggle & Rhyme video is ‘live’ from Southbourne library.

All sessions and songs you’ll see were filmed when the library was closed to the public. Strict social distancing measures were in place whilst the sessions were being performed.

We are excited to announce that we will be restarting Wriggle & Rhyme sessions for under 5’s in five of our libraries from the week commencing 7th June. These libraries are Hamworthy, Southbourne, Tuckton, Canford Heath and West Howe.

All session places must be pre-booked and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, we can only allocate 5 spaces at each session so please be patient with us. We will book you into a session as soon as we can and will notify you by email of your session day and time slot.

Please email Southbourne@bournemouthlibraries.org.uk to book your place. Southbourne sessions will be Mondays 10am and Mondays 11am.

Hello and welcome to southbourne library, for this week's wriggle and rhyme, I'm catherine- this is tracy. Hi and tracy has jake with her and I've got george with her and we're very excited to be doing some singing for you this morning and we're going to start with hello, hello song.

I love this one. Okay. Now you might want to do a little bit of moving round for this one, we're going to do it with jake and george okay, three little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day they looked left and right, but they didn't like the sight. Came the sunshine and dried up all the rain, so an incy, wincy, spider, climbed up the spout. Again, oh well done a happy spider at the end.

This is one of our favorites here at south boulder, and you can make your turtles at home. We do ours a little bit like this with flippers I had a little turtle. His name was tiny tim. I put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim. He drank up all the water. He ate up all the soap and now he's in bed with a bubble.

And if you've got some bubbles at home, maybe you could have a blow with those horsey horsey there we go. So you can do this with a little horse to bounce up and down and we're going to do a horse going normally a horse going very slowly and then our horse will be galloping at the end. So horsey horsey, don't you stop just let your feet go! Flip your teeth.

Your tail goes swish and the wheels go round. Giddy.

Okay, all right little peter rabbit, so little peter rabbit can have ears and curly whiskers cat little peter rap has got to fly upon his nose. Little peter rabbit's got to fly upon his nose. Little peter ramp he's got to fly upon his nose and he flipped it and he flopped it and the fly flew away.

Very good, oh grand old, duke of york, okay, so you might want to stand up for this one we're going to stand jake and george up for some marching. Oh the grand old duke of york. He had 10 thousand men, he marched them up to the top of the hill and he marched them down again and when they were up, they were up and when they were down, they were down and when they were only halfway up, they were neither up nor down. That might have got some giggles. It's with me down in the jungle.

Now in our jungle. Today we have an elephant stomping, a tiger roaring, a crocodile going snap and a tiny little mouse, goodness quick, squeak, all right, it's okay down in the jungle where nobody goes, there's a great big elephant, washing his clothes with a a rubber duck there. This is the way he washes his clothes. He goes stomp stomp rub-a-dub-dub.

This is the way he washes his clothes yeah. That's it everybody's very clean. Now all the clothes are clean, everything's clean and our last song is our goodbyes goodbye song.
