From YouTube: 3 puppet crafts with Katy
Description
In this video Katy shows you 3 different ways to make puppets so you can create your very own puppet show at home! #bcplibraries #craftswithkaty
A
Are
this
one
here
a
stick
puppet
this
one
here
where
you
can
use
your
fingers
to
move
the
puppet
like
this,
and
these
finger
puppets
like
these
two
here
and
all
of
these
you
can
make
with
pieces
of
paper
or
bits
of
card
or
scraps
of
things
that
you
have
around
your
home
and
feel
free
to
pause.
The
video
at
any
point.
So
you
can
catch
up
with
what
I'm
saying.
So,
let's
get
all
of
it.
A
Then
you
need
to
draw
your
characters
onto
the
card
or
paper
and
I
am
drawing
my
little
mouse
character,
Charlie,
because
I
wanted
to
make
a
puppet
of
him
and
I
am
using
my
felt
tip
pens
to
draw
the
outline
and
then
I'm
going
to
color
him
in
with
some
crayons
and
once
I
have
finished,
charlie
I
decided
to
do
him
a
little
friend
a
little
Hedgehog
friend
and
I
did
exactly
the
same.
Using
my
crayons
and
my
black
felt-tip
pen
to
draw
the
outline
and
once
I
had
drawn
my
characters.
A
I
decided
to
stick
on
some
stickers
because
I
have
some
gem
stickers
and
I
thought
they
would
look
very
nice
and
pretty
on
my
characters
and
you
can
use
whatever
you
have
at
home.
You
can
stick
any
odds
and
ends
of
craft
supplies
onto
your
puppets.
If
you
do
a
bird
for
example,
you
can
stick
on
some
feathers.
If
you
have
them,
you
can
just
use
whatever
you
like
to
me
as
creative
as
possible.
So
once
I
had
finished,
designing
my
characters.
A
So
now
I'm
going
to
show
you
how
to
make
the
walking
puppets
and
for
this
again
you
need
a
piece
of
card
and
you
need
to
do
quite
a
big
design,
because
at
the
bottom
of
your
design,
you
need
to
place
two
two
pence
pieces
next
to
each
other
like
I,
have
here
and
draw
around
them,
and
these
will
be
the
holes
that
you
cut
out
to
put
your
fingers
in.
So
you
need
to
make
sure
that
your
design
will
fit
them
at
the
bottom.
A
A
I'll
follow
the
draw
along
of
animals,
and
you
can
just
turn
those
into
puppets
if
you
like,
and
as
well
as
a
lion,
I
decided
to
do
an
alien,
because
I
thought
my
fingers
all
worked
really
well
as
extra
tentacles,
like
I've
done
here
and
I've
made
sure
that
I
leave
enough
space
for
the
two
pence
pieces.
But
you
can
do
whatever
you
like,
and
you
can
color
them
in.
A
However,
you
like
again,
you
can
stick
some
odds
and
ends
that
you
have
at
home,
maybe
some
sequins
and
gems
and
feathers
some
bits
of
felt
some
bits
of
paper.
It's
totally
up
to
you.
You
can
get
as
creative
and
as
crazy
with
your
puppets
as
you
like,
and
when
you
have
drawn
your
designs
and
finish
coloring
them
in.
You
then
need
to
cut
them
out
very
carefully,
like
I
am
doing
here,
and
you
will
need
an
adult
with
you
when
we
cut
out
the
holes
for
the
fingers
in
a
minute.
A
So
when
you
have
cutouts
your
puppets,
you
need
to
also
cut
out
the
holes
in
the
middle,
and
for
this
you
need
to
take
an
eraser
and
put
it
underneath
the
hole
and
use
your
pencil
to
punch
a
hole
and
then
cut
out
with
some
scissors
of
the
middle
parts
and
just
make
sure
you're
very
careful.
When
you
do
this,
they
you'll
be
able
to
put
your
fingers
through
the
holes
and
make
your
puppet
walk.
A
Finally,
I'm
going
to
show
you
how
to
make
some
little
finger
puppets
and
for
these
puppets
all
you
need
is
some
paper
and
you
can
draw
as
many
faces
as
you
like
on
the
piece
of
paper,
because
these
will
be
your
puppets
I'm
going
for
five,
because
they
will
all
fit
on
one
hand
and
I
am
doing
a
giraffe,
a
bird
and
a
boy
and
a
girl
and
a
cat.
But
you
can
draw
whatever
you
like
on
your
piece
of
paper.
A
You
can
maybe
draw
your
favorite
but
characters,
so
you
can
act
out
scenes
from
your
favorite
book.
You
can
draw
your
friends,
you
can
draw
your
family,
your
pets,
whatever
you
like.
It's
totally
up
to
you
just
remember,
to
keep
them
quite
simple,
because
they
are
smaller
than
that
other
designs
and
you
will
have
to
cut
them
out.
I
drew
mine
in
black
pen
and
colored
them
in
with
some
crayons
and
felt-tip
pens,
but
you
can
do
yours.
However,
you
like
you,
can
again
stick
things
on.
A
If
you
want
to,
you
can
stick
some
wall
on
for
the
hair
or
some
feathers
on
to
the
bird.
It's
totally
up
to
you
once
you
are
happy
with
your
faces.
You
then
need
to
cut
them
out
very,
very
carefully,
remembering
that
these
are
smaller
and
a
little
bit
more
fiddly
than
the
previous
designs,
and
you
need
to
save
the
excess
paper,
because
we
will
use
this
for
making
rings
to
put
on
our
fingers.
So
you
need
to
take
the
excess
paper
and
measure
around
your
finger
like
this.
A
You
don't
have
to
do
a
complete
body
for
your
characters
for
the
Bell
and
the
boy
I
did
small
paper
rings
like
this,
so
all
you
would
see
is
their
head.
But
if
you
want
to
do
your
favorite
book
characters,
you
can
do
a
along
the
body.
That's
totally
up
to
you
and
finally
I'm
just
coloring
in
the
cat
hair,
giving
him
a
nice
round
belly
and
some
stripes
before
I.
Stick
it
together
and
once
you
have
stuck
them
all
together,
you
will
have
some
puppets
that
look
like
this.
A
So
now
it's
your
turn
to
make
some
puppets.
Maybe
you
want
to
make
some
puppets
like
Charlie
and
his
Hedgehog
friend,
or
maybe
you
want
to
make
some
walking
puppets.
You
can
do
an
alien
like
this
and
have
your
fingers
act
as
tentacles
or
you
could
do
an
animal
where
your
fingers
are
legs
and
you
can
walk
your
animal
along
or
you
can
make
some
little
finger
puppets.
It's
totally
up
to
you.
You
can
get
as
creative
as
you
like,
and
give
your
family
a
nice
puppet
show.
