From YouTube: BCP Council Leader - COVID 19 Update
Description
BCP Leader, Councillor Vikki Slade gives an update about the actions we’re taking to make sure we continue to deliver the most essential services to residents most in need, while at the same time setting out plans to support community resilience. We’ll continue to provide further briefings so keep following our social media channels for further updates over the coming days/weeks.
A
The
situation
regarding
Komodo
virus
is
changing
rapidly,
and
these
are
unsettling
times
for
us
all.
I
understand
many
of
you
may
be
feeling
worried
or
anxious.
As
the
situation
develops,
it's
important
that
we
all
follow
and
share
the
latest
public
health
advice
to
keep
ourselves
and
our
families
and
our
local
community
safe.
A
BCP
council
is
work
continuing
to
work
with
our
partners
across
the
NHS
and
public
health
England.
To
do
all
that,
we
can
to
keep
families
and
communities
across
Bournemouth,
Christchurch
and
Paul
safe.
A
These
are
unprecedented
times
and
we're
working
extremely
hard
to
make
sure
we
can
deliver
the
most
essential
services
to
those
residents
who
are
most
in
need,
whilst
at
the
same
time
working
to
support
the
well-being
of
our
staff.
So
we
have
enough
resources
to
be
able
to
do
this.
We
know
that
many
residents
are
volunteering.
Their
help
and
we've
seen
some
amazing
examples
of
community
spirit
where
people
are
reaching
out
to
offer
help
and
support
to
those
in
need.
A
It's
important
that
we
ensure
that
all
volunteering
is
done
in
a
coordinated,
targeted
and
safe
way
for
everyone.
That's
why,
over
the
next
few
days,
we
will
be
launching
a
structured
and
safe
approach
to
volunteering
across
our
three
towns
in
conjunction
with
our
partners
in
the
charity
and
community
sector.
We
know
that
you'll
continue
to
support
each
other
as
kovat
19
means
self-isolation
for
more
vulnerable
people,
and
it's
only
by
working
together
that
we'll
get
through
this
challenging
situation.
A
So
we
know
that
many
of
you
will
be
really
worried
about
your
jobs
and
how
you're
going
to
pay
your
bills.
The
government
has
launched
a
hardship
fund
and
we're
looking
right
now
at
how
we
can
make
sure
that
people
who
most
need
it
get
that
help.
The
government
have
also
brought
in
new
schemes
to
help
businesses
so
we'll
be
looking
to
see
how
we
can
make
sure
that
businesses
get
what
they
need.
A
We
will
continue
to
provide
information
on
our
response
to
the
situation,
as
well
as
giving
you
regular
updates
on
how
to
stay
safe.
So
please
do
keep
in
touch
with
us
using
our
website
and
the
other
trusted
sites
like
the
NHS
and
public
health.
Are.
We
are
working
closely
with
our
partners
in
the
media
to
make
sure
that
the
messages
that
we
need
you
to
receive
get
out
there
I've
had
lots
of
correspondence
from
people
who
are
worried
about
the
homeless.
A
Looked
after
children,
elderly
people
and
those
who
are
vulnerable
and
I
want
to
assure
you
that
our
professional
teams
are
working
really
hard
to
make
sure
that
they
get
the
help
that
they
need
and
you
as
a
community,
get
the
help
that
you
need
to.
So
please
do
be
assured
that
everything
that
we
can
do
is
being
done
right
now.
