wonderful

town

And
so
we
had
our
first
big
kickoff
meeting
yesterday,
yeah
we'd
be
here
for
the
utility
board
this
afternoon.
The
first
item
on
my
reports
is
the
utility
update
we
kim
jones,
and
I
went
to
present
the
efforts
of
the
soloco
implementation
committee
at
the
south
carolina
association
of
stormwater
managers
on
june,
2nd
that
was
very
well
received.
We've
already
had
several
municipalities
follow
with
us
about
those
efforts
and
we
continue
to
enjoy
implementing
the
manual
in
coordination.

We
have
begun
having
more
coordinated
discussions
with
those
of
us
that
have
implemented
the
manual
and
any
major
updates
are
certainly
brought
to
the
technical
subcommittee
detention
as
well.
We
are
I
guess.
Last
week
I
presented
for
the
south
carolina
association
of
counties
there
barrett
laramore
regional
coordination
award.

All
right
so,
like
I
said
we
will
be
finding
out
early
next
week
if
they
meet
jurisdictions
who
participated
in
that
effort
won
or
received
honorable
mention
so
fingers
crossed,
and
then
lastly,
we'll
be
also
be
presenting
about
our
efforts
at
the
national
storm
stormcon
conference
in
maryland
in
september,
as
well
as
seswa
in
october.
That
is
the
local
southeast,
storm
water,
association,
kim
jones
and
I'll
be
doing
that
one
as
well.
So
you
mentioned
it
was
hot,
thankfully
we're
to
some
degree.

thankful
we're
not
outside
right
now
out
at
the
the
evergreen
pond,
there's
still
one
minor
component
that
needs
to
get
wrapped
up
and
then,
after
that,
we'll
be
hosting
our
open
house.
So
hopefully,
for
maybe
the
august
or
october
meeting
will
be
on
site
for
that
one,
probably
october
with
the
heat,
and
then
we
also
were
contacted
by
a
one
of
the
partners
for
cp
and
p
pipe
to
do
a
special
presentation.

excited

continue
our
efforts

uscv
lab,
so
that'll
end
on
june
30th
and
kick
back
up
july
1st.
So
for
the
stormwater
implementation
committee.
I
don't
really
have
much
to
add
the
only
thing
I'll
say
during
this
time
is:
we
will
all
be
meeting
on
friday
full
with
the
lowcountry
stormwater
partners.
We
began
having
biannual
meetings
for
just
the
ms4
partners
for
that
contract
and
look
forward
to
meeting
with
ellen
and
some
of
her
leadership
friday
friday
morning.
So
and
next
is
stormwater
related
projects
and
I'll.

Good
afternoon
for
our
stormwater
related
projects,
we
continue
to
meet
about
easements,
monthly
and
act
accordingly,
where
we
can
be
of
service
for
the
shellpoint
community
and
the
projects
we
have
going
on
there.
Following
the
approval
from
you
all.
Last
month,
we
took
this
to
natural
resources
committee
for
approval
on
june
6th
and
then
monday
night.

It
had
it
for
its
first
reading
at
county
council,
and
so
that
was
approved,
it'll
be
read
two
more
times
the
third
reading
and
final
approval
to
be
july,
11th
and
then
we'll
go
ahead
with
the
contract
and
start
work
there.
Hopefully
by
august,
we
continue
to
work
on
easements
in
that
area
and
make
visits
where.

Oh
necessary,
okay,
one
thing
I
will
add,
we
julianna
and
I
did
a
site
visit
last
friday
morning
with
some
of
the
residents
in
shell
point
and
we
were
able
to
get
two
more
confirmed
easements
for
that
project,
so
we're
moving
along
relatively
quickly.
Is
that
getting
those
two?
We
now
have
a
full
segment
of
easement
between
cypress
and
walnut,
which
is
good,
very
helpful.

We
also
got
one
just
north
of
that
connecting
walnut
into
the
palmetto
ridge
he's
meant
and
that
eventually
out
falls
under
broad
river
through
the
county
passive
park
into
broad
broad
river.
So
the
update
for
the
coleman
pond,
we
have
been
trying
to
work
with
that
property
owner
and
beaufort
county
legal
to
obtain
that
easement.
At
this
point,
the
we
have
two
options,
because
the
county
extended
funds
on
that
project.
We
either
have
to
get
compensated
for
what
was
expended
or
we
have
to
have
the
easement
granted
in
full.

We
are
trying
to
negotiate
the
best
path
to
move
forward,
for
that
there
is
some
hesitation
with
the
easement
on
behalf
of
the
property
owner
and
despite
some
of
our
reassurances,
there's
still
a
little
bit
of
hesitation
on
his
part.
We
don't
want
to
have
to
get
beaver
county
legal
involved,
but
we're
kind
of
at
the
end
of
the
line.
This
project
has
been
lingering
for
this
aspect
for
some
time
now,
so
we're
at
the
point
where
it
needs
to
end
but
we've
they.
We
continue
to
have
discussions
so.

That
one
katie
knows
far
more
about
that
situation
than
I
do
for
the
tuxedo
park,
pond
dredging
project
that
bid
document
was
posted
about
an
hour
ago
and
so
like
with
any
good
job.
I
am
still
learning
a
year
into
this
and
decided.
Maybe
a
proposal
was
not
the
best
thing
to
do
so.
We've
reissued
the
bid
document,
nearly
the
exact
same
as
the
first
time,
except
this
time.
The
contractor
will
provide
us
with
the
schedule
of
values.

So
hopefully
this
will
be
more
of
the
direction
that
we
need
to
go
in
and
we
can
move
forward
with
that
following
the
bid
closes
in
a
month
so
july,
16th
mid-july,
we
can
move
forward
with
that
design
is
complete
for
husband,
court.
North
and
purchasing
is
reviewing
those
bid
documents
now.
Actually
they
sent
it
back
also
about
an
hour
ago.
So
hopefully
that
will
be
posted
by
the
end
of
the
week.

Now,
to
move
to
professional
contracts,
construction
does
continue
at
the
brewer
memorial
project,
we're
hoping
that
that
will
wrap
up
at
the
end
of
the
month
as
it's
not
budgeted
for
next
year.
I
spoke
with
the
contractor
this
morning
and
landscaping
will
start
on
monday
and
they
will
pour
the
pervious
concrete
on
tuesday
and
I
believe
they've
got
some
asphalt
to
pour
and
then
that's
it.
So
next
week
is
going
to
be
a
big
week
out
there
and
I'm
excited
to
see
that
all
dressed
up
so.

mentioned
the
evergreen
regional
pond
that
things
are
still
continuing
out
there.
Dominion
was
supposed
to
be
there
today
to
adjust
the
gas
line
as
they
needed
to
and
at
the
time
that
it
was
time
for
me
to
pull
this
report
together.
We
anticipated
it
to
be
done,
or
that
was
the
best.
We
knew
since
then
received
a
more
tailored
timeline
from
the
contractor
and
according
to
that,
expect
that
it'll
be
done
at
the
end
of
july.

can
we
continue
to
work
with
wolpert
for
various
things
and
I
won't
go
through
this
whole
list,
but
just
to
touch
on
a
few
scope.
Number
five,
which
is
item
e
about
the
battery
creek
pond.
That
trash
rack
is
in
and
stormwater
infrastructure
is
working
to
install
that
scope,
number,
eight
or
item
h,
the
saint
helena
drainage
study,
katie,
and
I
were
looking
at
some
of
that
data
this
morning
and
they've
done
a
lot.

I
believe
it
was
right
before
the
last
remote
utility
board
meeting
and
had
a
lot
of
great
ideas
there,
and
one
of
the
ideas
that
we
wanted
to
highlight
today
was
the
possible
inclusion
of
southside
park
into
this
project
and
lump
those
together
in
those
efforts
and
then
scope
number
10
item
j
for
the
ladies
island
drainage
study.
I
believe
they
have
begun
to
construct
the
model
for
that.
So
if
there
are
no
other
questions,
I'll
turn

danielle
mentioned
we're
done
with
some
of
that
mossy
oaks
data
collection
because
of
the
work
we
are
planning
on
doing
at
arthur
horne
park,
we're
going
to
be
putting
in
another
request
for
assistance
of
with
the
lab
to
help
get
some
pre-construction
data
and
during
construction
data
and
post
construction
data
on
water
quality
and
what
those
improvements
may
look
like.
Overall,
we've
got
a
pretty
good
baseline
from
some
of
the
outfalls
that
we
were
doing
associated
with
the
mossy
oaks,
drainage
improvements
and
we'll
continue
to
get
more
site-specific
information
at
arthur
horn.

is:
I
want
to
introduce
andrea
marino
as
their
our
new
ms4
program
manager.
So,
as
I
moved
up,
she's
coming
in
to
fill
my
spot
me
and
andrew
has
worked
together
for
what
five
five
years
now
and
we're
very
excited
about
moving
her
up
to
to
bring
her
into
that
that
spot,
I'm
going
to
our
projects.
The
award
contract
for
bridge
street
has
been
approved
by
tech
council
and
we're
just
waiting
for
the
construction
guys
to
tell
us
when
they're
going
to
actually
start
on
the
project.

The
historic
drainage
study
that
we're
going
to
do
in
old
town
bluffton
is
moving
along
good.
We
are
adding
in
choke
points
to
our
drainage
models,
so
that's
exciting
and
then
the
last
big
thing
is
again
our
may
river
action
plan.
Our
may
river
watershed
action
plan
committee
is
meeting
this
thursday
to
go
over
the
11
to
11,
plus
additional
15
sites
for
potential
water
quality
improvements,
they're
going
to
go
over
that
this
thursday,
and
hopefully
we
can
move
forward
on
that.

Mr
willis,
a
couple
things:
we
have
two
pretty
significant
developments
that
are
happening
in
the
same
basin
as
the
cypress
wetlands,
so
we
did
an
update
to
the
the
hydrograph
as
to
what
the
capacity
of
that
the
wetland
can
be
so
we're
fairly
satisfied
that
we'll
be
able
to
take
on
that
additional
order,
which
is
what
the
plan
was
in
the
first
place.
Second
massacre
lane,
which
we
took
from
scdot
a
while
back
less
than
a
couple
years
ago,
has
now
identified
some
drainage
problems
and
pipe
that
goes
places.

Tech,
I
think,
is
what's
going
to
classify
us,
so
it's
very
exciting
and
we
will
be
publishing
within
the
next
two
weeks.
I
think
a
stormwater
utility
dashboard
of
ongoing
projects
that
we
have
coming
up
so
keep
an
eye
out
for
that.
If
you
want
to
know,
cost
comparison's,
future
and
stuff
about
what
our
products
are
come
on
down
in
california
and
we
have
to
ship
around.

We
continue
to
have
lots
of
permits
issued
not
as
many
projects
closing
out
this
last
month,
but
we
do
have
some
starting
up
in
the
next
coming
to
a
close
in
this
next
month.
Inspections,
I
think
we're
averaging
just
over
700.
We
are
definitely
looking
forward
to
having
the
fourth
inspector
position
come
online.

That
is
going
to
be
classified
as
a
senior
level
inspector
and
then
again,
we'll
have
three
three
other
inspectors
as
well.
So
several
idd
issue
idd
issues,
but
through
some
monitoring
and
testing
we
were
able
to
resolve
those
or
close
them
out.
So
that
was
also
a
great
effort
for
our
inspection
staff
and
coordination,
as
well
with
the
town
of
bluffton.
They
brought
it
to
our
attention
and
we
were
able
to
close
that
close
that
out
with
with
the
lab
and
public
education.
I
Good
afternoon,
it's
great
to
see
you
all
again.
I've
been
absent,
unfortunately,
for
the
past
two
meetings
due
to
scheduling
conflicts,
but
that
means
I
was
out
in
the
field.
So
that's
also
a
great
thing.
We
had
a
really
busy
april
and
may
with
different
festivals.
We
actually
had
a
rousing
success
and
got
several
hundred
signatures
for
our
pet
waste
pledge
in
terms
of
basically
incentivizing
people
with
pet
waste
bags
to
pick
up
after
their
own
pet,
both
on
walks
and
in
yards
to
reduce
bacteria
pollution.
I
But
we
also
had
some
great
successes.
I
went
in
the
beginning
of
june
to
the
national
association
of
natural
resources
extension
professionals
conference
in
kalamazoo
michigan,
where
one
of
our
programs,
the
healthy
pond
series,
was
featured
and
started
a
rousing
conversation
about
stormwater
pond
health
between
georgia,
florida
and
south
carolina
extension
agents.
So
it
was
nice
to
know
that
we
all
share
the
same
issues
with
stormwater
ponds.

Right,
but
we
also
had
a
few
other
events,
I'm
just
pulling
up
my
calendar
real
quick.
It
accidentally
closed
on
me
so
for
this
month
coming,
we
are
currently
in
halfway
through
our
flooding,
4-1-1
webinar
series.
This
is
a
statewide
program
that
we
focus
a
lot
on
coastal
flooding,
but
we've
also
included
upstate
flooding
in
this
particular
go
around.
I
Also
on
june
30th,
I
have
a
healthy
pond
series
workshop,
going
we're
partnering
with
crystal
lake
to
do
cultivating
a
carolina
yard
so
talking
about
sustainable
landscaping
for
pond
health.
So
it'll
cover
everything
from
soil
testing
to
fertilizing
to
native
plants,
and
then
finally,
I
hope
you
guys
get
the
bluffton
sun,
because
I
was
interviewed
for
an
article
in
there
talking
about
rainwater,
harvesting
and
native
plants
as
ways
to
conserve
water.

When
juliana
and
I
presented
at
the
asheville
conference,
the
international
erosion
control
association-
they,
I
think
all
of
their
stormwater
staff
was
in
attendance
of
that
and
we
got
really
great
feedback
about
the
soloco
manual
and
what
we
were
doing
with
that
in
the
low
country.
But
at
that
time
that
was,
that
was
all
we
heard.

For
the
staff
update,
we
do
continue
to
hire
for
vacant
positions,
two
of
our
in
stormwater
inspectors.
I'm
sorry,
one
inspector
and
one
of
our
infrastructure
technicians
received
their
post-construction
bmp
inspector
certification,
that
was
scott
yeomans
and
judah
wood,
so
we're
grateful
for
them.
They
both
passed
with
over
90
percent,
so
glowing
reviews
from
me
and
then
our
infrastructure
department
they
recently
hired
a
new
foreman.
Mr
bradley
harriet
and
mr
mitch
york
recently
received
his
cdl
permit,
so
he's
going
for
his
full
license,
and
mr
roush
wanted
me
to
mention
that
today.
