Agenda Items of Interest:
✔️ Heard a Public Safety Update from the City of Beaumont Medical Director who proposed solutions to mitigate less emergent calls and to better allocate resources to free up trucks in addition to an incentive bonus for new EMS personnel
✔️ Heard a presentation by the International Code Council about their government consensus process for how they come up with codes
✔️ Passed a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with HDR Inc. to perform a water & wastewater utility financial planning and rate model
✔️ Held a work session to review and discuss a variety of construction codes and adopted: the 2021 International Building, Residential, Existing Building, Fire, Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas, Property Maintenance, Swimming Pool and Spa, and 2020 National Electrical Code and 2020 ICC 600 Standard for Residential Construction in High Wind Regions, the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code, and the 2021 International Mechanical Code with local exceptions.
✔️ Conducted a Public Hearing to hear eight NFP requests for funding for the 2023 Community Development Block Grant Program.
