supports
service
members
and
veterans,
along
with
their
families
and
caregivers
through
the
unique
challenges
of
military
life.

red
cross
also
assists
with
saving
the
lives
of
others,
with
first
aid,
cpr
and
other
skills,

whereas
red
cross
work
to
prevent
and
alleviate
human
suffering,
which
is
vital
to
strengthening
our
community's
resiliency.

I
work
for
red
cross
and
with
natalie
warren
who's,
our
disaster
program
manager
for
this
area
as
well,
but
the
vast
majority
of
folks
you
see
on
tv.
Somebody
mentioned
ukraine
earlier.
If
you'll
notice
on
tv
at
night,
you've
been
seeing
red
cross
from
on
the
tv
vast
majority
of
the
folks,
90
plus
percent
of
the
folks,
you
see,
runner
are
volunteers,
they're,
our
community
members,
they're
community
leaders,
they're
our
neighbors.

There
are
friends
or
relatives,
there's
the
folks
who
live
down
the
street
across
the
way
and
they
respond.
They
respond
to
a
time
of
disaster
and,
unfortunately,
for
our
area,
we
live
in
a
great
place
to
raise
our
family
to
live
and
work
and
play
and
pray,
but
we
also
live
in
an
area,
particularly
over
the
last
five
plus
years
or
so.
We've
had
a
lot
of
disasters.

know
I
have
to
tell
you
that
and
I'll
give
you
a
real,
quick
stat
and
that's
all
I'll,
give
you
just
one
red
cross.
This
particular
chapter
is
one
of
five
chapters
in
the
texas
gulf
coast
region.
There's
three
regions
in
the
state
of
texas
and
there's
62
regions
in
the
nation
for
red
cross
we're
this
chapter,
this
region,
texas
gulf
coast
region
of
the
last
five
years,
had
more
major
disasters
in
any
other
region
in
the
nation.

that
tells
you
something
and
we're
very
fortunate
in
our
community
not
to
have
red
cross,
but
also
to
have
our
emergency
manager.
Folks,
in
our
many
offices,
you
know
this
already
and
I'm
going
to
tell
you
something.
You
already
know
that
is.
You
have
one
of
the
best
emergency
management
operations
in
the
state
of
texas.
You
have
tim
and
where
shekinah
she's
right
here
there
she
is
and
they've
been
at
the
forefront.
I
worked
with
that
office
back
during
katrina
rita
night
days.

know
when
we
worked
very
closely
with
him
when
chief
shelton
was
there
pat
grimes
was
there
in
emergency
communications.
You
know
those
names
mickey
was
there
at
the
chief
fire
fire
chief,
then
at
that
time,
as
well
steve
was
your
emergency.
Was
your
city
manager.
I
mean
we
go
all
the
way
back
and
you've
had
to
have
one
of
the
best,
because
you're
at
the
tip
of
the
spear
and
so
you're,
very,
very
fortunate.

thank

your
leadership
and
supporting
their
office
and
the
things
that
they
do
every
day
day
in
and
day
out,
because
it's
so
critically
important
that
we
do
that
so
again,
red
cross.

there
we're
there
the
good,
the
bad
and
the
ugly
we're
there
during
the
major
disasters,
but
the
thing
we're
at
most
often
day
in
and
day
out,

time
is
house
fires,
there's
home
fires
we
respond
to.

emergency
food,
clothing,
shelter
and
that's
natalie
warren
and
her
team,
natalie
and
them
are
the
ones
that
do
that.
So
at
night,
sometimes
you
hear
them
say:
hey
red
cross
is
responding.
What
we
mean
by
that
is
we
respond
in
a
very
specific
way
and
I'm
gonna
have
natalie
say
a
couple
of
words:
real,
quick.

think
chester
really
summed
it
up.
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
the
continued
support
with
everything,
especially
for
kenya
and
tim
and
everyone
here
in
jefferson,
county
and
beaumont.
That
supports
us.

greatly
appreciate
it.

I
have
a
specialist
that
I
hired
that
works
under
me.

is
supporting
just
because
we
are
in
overload
just
like
chester

he
tries
to
go
as
many
places.

little
communities
had
their
own
chapters,
they've
been
merged
over
the
years,
so
there's
17
counties
in
this
chapter
and
we
cover
a
lot
of
territory
and
a
lot
of
disaster
disaster-prone
territory,
and
we
couldn't
do
that
without
the
support
of
our
community
leadership.
We
couldn't
do
that
without
the
support
of
our
board.
Many
of
you
know
scott
thompson
with
market
basket.
He's
the
chair
of
my
board.
He
has
been
for
the
last
three
years.
I
won't
let
him
go.

him
leave,
but
we
could
we
preach
the
support
of
our
elected
officials.
It's
because
of
your
leadership
that
allows
our
emergency
managers
allow
us
to
do
the
job
that
we
need
to
do
day
in
and
day
out,
be
at
that
family.

got
the
house
fire
at
2
am
in
the
morning.
That's
lost
everything
they
ever
had
and
we're
able
to
respond,
but
we're
able
to
respond
because
you
support
us
we're
able
to
respond
because
our
donors-
we're
a
non-profit
just
like
any
other
non-profit
in
the
nation.

planning
commission
recommended
five

zero
to
approve
the
request
for
the
specific
use
permit
at
this
location.
Subject
to
the
conditions
listed
in
your
staff
memorandum,
the
administration
is
recommending
approval
of
this
item
as
well
subject
to
the
same
conditions.

workquest,
formerly
texas
industries
for
the
blind
and
handicapped
tibh,
utilizes
private,
not-for-profit
community
rehabilitation
programs
or
crps
under
the
texas
state
use
programs
known
as
works
wonders.
This
exempts
political
subdivisions
from
competitive
bidding
requirements
for
this
agreement.
Beaumont
products
and
services
or
bps
located
in
beaumont,
will
be
providing
the
services
to
the
city
on
behalf
of
workquest.
I
Bps
has
been
providing
grounds,
maintenance
and
litter
removal
services
to
the
city
for
the
past
25
years
grounds,
maintenance
services,
including
mowing
edging
sweeping
and
litter
removal
for
the
central
business
district
and
other
specified
areas.
As
listed
in
your
staff
memorandum,
are
included
under
the
current
agreement.
The
cost
to
the
city
is
an
annual
estimated
cost
of
one
hundred
and
sixty
nine
thousand
seven
hundred
and
fifty
four
dollars
and
forty
cents
for
fiscal
year.
Twenty
one,
the
proposed
annual
cost
of
the
new
agreement
would
be
175
651.68.

told

it

too
expensive.

october,
in
my
neighborhood
in
amelia
there
was
some
damage:
roof
damage,

kinds
of
damage.

don't
know
that
it
got
any
pressed
orange
did
because
the
tornado
went
through
there
and
I'm
still
working
with
the
insurance
company
trying
to
get
my
roof
done.

things

I'm
excited
about

don't
know
what
the
result
was,

where
he

bring
a
resolve
for
stacy
lewis.
He
was
forced
into
retirement
and
I
believe
that
you
all
can
make
the
difference.

meeting

we

workshop
and
have

we're
currently

boards

appointees
and

direction

go

accomplish

not
maintaining

grass.

citizens
came

me
and
I
told
them
I
would
act
so
that's
why
I'm
acting
out
on
the
day

the
last
thing
is,

possible,
we
can
get
an
update
and
then
soon
about
where
we're
at

current
transit
contract.

know
it
was
recent
turnover
over
there.

just
kind
of
want
to
know
where
we
stand
and
where
we're
at
currently
with
the
transit
contract.

the
chairman
of
the

what
