you'll
see,
the
city
has
been
working
harder
than
ever
to
provide
better
services,
better
infrastructure
and
to
bring
more
awareness

programs

opportunities

citizens

beaumont
the
best
place.

possibly

we're
excited
with
where
we're
at
and
where
we're
going,
and
we
have
a
lot

share

So,

get

despite
a
tough
few
years,
a
strong
financial
position
has
allowed
us
to
maintain
to
repair
and
improve
infrastructure.

That's
focused
on
resiliency
and
recovery,
along
with
offering
excellent
city
services
and
public
safety
fiscal
year.
2023
will
be
the
first
time
in
the
history
of
our
city,
where
we
will
cross
the
300
million
dollar
threshold,
which
means
we're
in
a
strong
financial
position
to
do
more
than
ever
before.

Our
public
works
department
has
been
working
hard
to
be
more
future.
Thinking,
they've
been
actively
looking
for
new
funding
sources
to
improve
everything
from
streets
to
drainage,
to
highlight
just
a
few
of
the
amazing
stats.
This
year
we've
invested
six
times
more
on
road
construction
projects
than
ever
before,
seven
times
more
on
drainage
projects,
dd6
has
just
recently
received
50
million
dollars
to
improve
drainage
infrastructure.

We're
striving
to
be
more
transparent
with
citizens
about
what
projects
are
happening
and
what
stages
they're
at
we've
added
interactive
maps
to
our
websites,
which
are
always
available
to
you
on
the
home
page.
You
can
track
everything
from
the
status
of
pothole
repairs
to
pavement
conditions
and
other
calls
in
real
time.

You
can
also
see
interactive
maps
for
concrete
repairs,
projects
and
street
rehabs,
that's
done
or
either
underway
we're
working
hard
to
future
proof.
Our
city.
We
are
proactively
and
aggressively
going
after
grants
to
mitigate
disasters
and
damages
from
natural
disasters.
As
you
know,
we've
had
our
share.
Here
are
a
few
projects
we
have
proposed
in
the
pipeline.

The
city
council
recently
moved
forward
with
the
construction
of
the
colus
ferry
pump
station
project
to
be
built
above
flood
level,
which
is
a
25.3
million
dollar
project.
It
is
a
major
step
in
the
right
direction
to
avoid
ever
losing
water.
Like
residents
did
during
tropical
storm
harvey,
the
new
station
will
build
resiliency
into
the
city's
water
system,
so
we
can
pull
water
directly
from
the
nature's
river
in
the
event
of
an
emergency.

They
put
a
huge
priority
on
mental
health
and
de-escalating
of
violence
within
54
trained
peace
officers
and
partnership
with
local
organizations
at
42.8
million
dollars.
The
police
department
is
the
largest
department
in
our
city,
they're,
very
active
in
the
community,
and
regularly
hosts
events
like
their
popular
cops
and
kids
meet
ups.

The
emergency
management
team
is
also
helping
to
pursue
funding
to
make
the
city's
infrastructure
more
resilient
through
grants
and
other
programs
in
2021
fire
handed
nearly
20
000
calls
and
they're
on
track
to
do
even
more.
This
year
they
had
a
number
of
exciting
equipments
and
station
upgrades,
which
will
not
only
help
day-to-day
operation
but
also
help
with
recruiting
efforts.

exciting
new
development
is
the
city's
economic
development
campaign
with
the
goal
of
more
aggressively
targeting
developments
to
attract
new
businesses
to
the
area
we're
committed
to
making
beaumont
the
best
it
can
be,
and
we
want
new
restaurants,
new
shops
and
businesses
all
over
the
city
and
downtown
there's
an
interactive
map.

don't
know
where
you
are,
but
thank
you
you're,
somewhere
in
here
a
few
months
ago,
beaumont
transit
rebranded
to
become
beaumont
zip,
but
the
name
and
designs
weren't.
The
only
things
that
upgraded,
eight
new,
large
buses
and
eight
smaller
paratransit
vans
have
hit
the
street
to
replace
eighty
percent
of
the
existing
fleet.

We're
also
really
excited
about
oktoberfest.
It's
right
around
the
corner,
and
we
want
everyone
to
come
out
and
join
us
at
rogers
park.
Invite

it

be
held
on
october,
8th,
a
standout
event.
This
year
was
art
taco,
which
was
reimagined
at
a
hispanic
heritage
festival
and
put
on
with
the
cvb
over
three
thousand
people,
and
fifty
local
vendors
and
organizations
came
out
to
see
the
performances
of
latin
music
and
dance.

There
was
a
variety
of
local
food
vendors,
free
kids
activities.
A
car
show
live
music
from
local
and
nationally
known,
performers
included
the
headliner,
the
original
lakeside
band
from
the
70s,
the
36th
annual
4th
of
july
celebration,
went
off
without
a
hitch,
the
largest
and
longest
fireworks
show
in
southeast
texas.

Cattail
marsh
has
recorded
visitors
from
49
states.
22
countries
and
interest
is
growing
each
and
every
day,
which
will
be
connected
to
the
nature
center.
With
the
new
trail,
the
nature
center
will
have
a
pollinator
garden,
a
butterfly
garden,
and
it
will
be
a
place
to
educate
the
community
with
field
trip,
opportunities
for
bisd
and
other
groups.

terrell
park
nature
center
in
beaumont,
texas.
Our
mission
is
to
provide
understanding,
appreciation
and
conservation
of
nature,
with
the
focus
on
the
wetlands,
through
educational
and
recreational
outreach
to
all
ages
and
all
people,
as
well
as
share
in
the
unique
history
of
the
park,
its
historic
structures
and
its
recreational
components.
The
indoor
interpretive
exhibits
will
include
interactive
technology
and
dioramas,
focusing
on
the
marsh
environment
and
inhabitants.

learning
spaces
will
include
an
observation,
deck
discovery,
workstations
planting
stations
and
water
features.
Other
areas
of
the
terrell
park
nature
center
will
include
a
visitor
reception
area
with
the
gift
shop,
a
parlor
area
highlighting
the
history,
art
and
architecture
of
the
building
and
terrell
park,
plus
other
tourist
amenities,
such
as
restrooms
and
visitor
guide
brochure
racks
to
find
out
how
you
can
help.

It
was
hosted
at
the
chris
quinn
soccer
complex
on
july
24th,
through
the
31st
17
teams,
from
all
over
the
world
competed
bringing
in
more
than
400
players,
their
families
and
spectators
to
beaumont
1500
hotel
rooms
were
booked
for
the
event,
with
an
estimated
economic
impact
of
over
500
thousand
dollars,
one
of
the
biggest
economic
drivers.
To
this
day,
I
want
to
give
a
special
thanks
to
all
of
the
city
and
community
volunteers
who
came
out
to
support
the
event.
