A
Good
afternoon
we
will
now
call
the
regularly
scheduled
meeting
of
the
city
of
beaumont's
historic,
landmark
commission
to
order.
We
will
begin
with
a
roll
call.
C
Chair
blasic
here
vice
chair
la
beach
here,
commissioner
bell
yeah,
commissioner
craig
commissioner
crawford
here,
commissioner
goodness
yeah
commissioner
macon
yeah
and
commissioner
segee
absent
commissioner
templeton
here.
A
Next,
the
minutes
from
our
last
meeting
were
circulated
in
our
electronic
packet.
Are
there
any
corrections
or
additions
that
need
to
be
made
to
those?
If
not,
is
there
a
mission
to
approve
is
written
all
right.
Is
there
a
second?
Second
all
right,
it's
been
moved
and
seconded
to
approve
as
written
all
those
in
favor
say
I
I
any
opposed,
and
there
are
none
all
right.
We
can
now
begin
with
the
meeting
and
it
looks
like
we
have
one
certificate.
E
The
applicant
mike
jenkins
is
seeking
permission
to
construct
an
accessory
structure
to
be
used
as
the
new
archived
building
for
the
chambers
house
located
at
2240,
calder
avenue.
To
my
knowledge,
this
structure
will
be
constructed
on
a
concrete
slab
foundation
and
have
a
pitched
roof
with
side
gable
and
columns.
E
The
exterior
of
the
structure
will
be
made
with
vertical
hardy
plank
and
the
roof
will
have
composition
shingles
to
match
the
existing
main
structure.
Additionally,
there
will
be
a
single
glaze
square
window
located
on
the
front
and
back
side
of
the
structure.
The
proposed
building
will
be
visible
from
calder
mcfadden
and
north
7th
street.
However,
the
building
will
be
restricted
to
staff
and
not
accessible
by
the
public
staff
recommends
approval
with
the
following
conditions.
E
E
So
this
normally
isn't
on
the
plan
or
on
the
slideshows
that
I
present,
but
I
thought
that
the
placement
may
show
a
little
bit
better
or
give
a
clear
picture.
So
this
is
calder
down
here,
so
it
would
be
visible
from
calder,
because
I
believe
that
they're
going
to
do
landscaping
correct
me.
If
I'm
wrong
back
here,
mcfadden,
it
would
be
visible
completely
and
then
also
it
would
be
visible
off
of
north
7th
street.
E
A
D
A
A
A
D
This
project
is
similar
in
nature
to
other
archive
facilities
that
we've
done.
We
recently
completed
a
major
archives
facility
for
the
stark
museum
of
art
and
the
cultural
house
which
met
the
requirements
of
the
national
museum
association
for
archives.
We
followed
those
guidelines
in
doing
this
building
and
I'm
gonna
ask
to
pass
out
a
couple
things,
because
our
context
is,
we
feel
a
little
differently
and
I
understand
the
horizontal,
because
the
general
pro
I
helped
write
the
original
historical
preservation
from
the
commission,
then
that
applies
to
generally
to
a
site.
D
D
The
other
two
buildings
were
done
that
were
referencing
were
done
that
way,
because
it
was
required
that
they
do
it
to
match
the
house,
but
that's
not
necessarily
correct.
I'm
I'm
defending
that
position.
I
also
feel
like
doing
the
building
vertical
helps
break
up
that
horizontal
line
and
helps
it
tie
back
in
with
the
existing
utility
building.
That's
on
the
site,
we're
choosing
to
use
what
we
call
hardy
material
because
of
its.
This
is
an
archive
facility,
we're
making
it
airtight
zero
airten.
D
I
mean
it's
no
infiltration
dust
free,
we're
also
my
mitigation
for
moisture,
and
we
do
not
want
termites.
So
everything
is
being
done
to
make
this
preservation.
They
currently
have
no
facilities
to
care
for
their
facilities,
their
archival
elements
in
the
building
they're
stored
in
the
attic
and
unconditioned,
basically
area.
So
doing
this
was
me
to
meet
the
standards
of
you
enter
in
the
building.
If
you
have
a
plan
there
into
a
small
foyer
brush
your
feet
off,
if
you
have
anything
in
your
hands,
you
leave
them
there.
D
No
anyone
coming
in
working
from
the
university
or
anywhere
else
would
have
to
leave
their
things
and
then
come
in
follow
the
protocols
that
they
established
there
for
this
facility.
So
our
only
request
is:
we
feel,
like
the
vertical
siding
for
a
gable
presents
itself
in
a
context
with
the
existing
utility
building.
That's
directly
behind
it,
it
kind
of
breaks
the
horizontal
lines
of
the
other
two
buildings
and
that's
primarily,
all
we
have
to
present
I'll.
Let
mike
jenkins,
if
you
want
to
speak,
also,
can
I
answer
questions.
A
I
guess
just
in
looking
at
it.
It
appears
that
the
the
the
thin
strips
of
wood-
I
guess
those
are
the
battens.

F
We'll
see,
I
don't
know
our
inspector
actually
had
to
leave
us.
Unfortunately,
we
loved
him
and
we're
already
gonna
miss
him.
He
left
for
a
good
reason,
though,
so
I
have
the
report.
I'm
gonna
be
kind
of
doing
two
things
until
we
can
hire
someone
and
get
someone
trained,
but
we're
going
to
think
post
positions
soon.
Okay,
so
they'll
be
back.
Seeing
me
more
for
a
total
of
inspections
of
163.
F
In
the
month
of
june,
we
did
issue
13
certificate
of
appropriatenesses,
including
this
one.
Here,
four
stock
work
orders
were
posted.
There
were
nine
new
historic
violations.
