B
The
next
item
is
case:
number
pz
2021-1.
This
is
a
request
for
a
certificate
of
demolition
for
the
structures
located
at
2355
pecos.
The
structures
under
review
are
the
main
structure
and
the
garage
apartment.
This
structure
was
tagged
november,
18
2019
and
the
report
states
that
there
are
extensive
repairs
to
be
done,
such
as
plumbing
electrical.
B
Both
of
those
will
need
to
be
replaced
and
brought
up
to
code.
The
exterior
doors
and
windows
must
be
replaced,
although
the
outside
of
the
home
does
does
seem
functional,
the
interior
requires
extensive
pairs
repairs.
The
garage
apartment
is
leaning
and
rotted
on
the
inside.
This
substandard
structure
could
cause
harm
to
residents
due
to
its
potential
for
collapsing,
based
on
the
repairs
or
the
extensive
repairs.
Building
code
staff
recommends
a
raise
order.
We
received
zero
letters
in
favor
and
two
letters
of
opposition.
B
The
first
letter
was
from
a
citizen
stating
too
many
historic
homes
have
been
demolished
and
it's
time
to
realize
what
is
happening
in
beaumont.
This
home
can
be
saved.
Okay
to
demolish
the
garage
apartment.
The
other
citizen
stated.
Please
do
not
tear
down
the
property
he
also
has
requested.
If
we
tabled
this
item
to
next
month,
that
is
obviously
up
to
you,
guys
and
planning
stuff
does
recommend
approval
of
the
raise
order.
All
right.
C
I've
got
a
question
regarding
the
gentleman
who
said
if
we
could
postpone
this
or
table
it
till
next
month.
Is
there
a
plan
b,
another
option
out
there
that
he
has
in
mind
or
what.
B
I
do
know
there
are
some
citizens
that
are
here
today
that
want
to
speak
on
behalf
of
the
house
as
he
was
here,
but
he
had
to
leave
because
movers
were
coming
to
his
house.
So
he
was
planning
to
be
here
to
answer
some
questions,
but
I
don't
believe
the
applicant
is
here:
no
just
the
ones
that
are
in
opposition.
Okay,.
D
Delaney
has
been
in
contact,
it's
in
foreclosure
and
she's
been
in
contact
with
chase
bank.
They
are
aware
of.
What's
going
on
and
last
I
heard
there
were
lots
on
the
door
and
it
was
secure.
I
talked
to
going
to
and
I
talked
to
kristen
and
we're
okay.
If
you
all
would
like
to
leave
that
house
and
we
take
the
garage
department
in
the
rear
because
it
is
leaning
substantially.
B
A
Right,
okay
and
all
right,
thank
you.
I
understand
there
may
be
someone
in
the
audience
that
would
like
to
speak
about
the
house,
buddy,
okay,
and
if
you
would
yes,
please
approach
the
microphone
and
just
state
your
full
name
and
address
for
us.
F
James
w
stone,
I'm
23.90
pecos
all
right,
but
I
was
on
property
at
23.80,
pecos
and
24
12
pecos,
which
I
did
not
receive
any
kind
of
information
on
those
two
just
from
2390,
but
I
am
totally
against
demolishing
it.
I
think
there
has
been
too
too
many
houses
in
beaumont,
which
I've
got
a
list
of
mostly
pecos
and
there's
about
three
of
them
that
are
no
longer
here.
Okay,.
H
F
I
A
H
H
I've
lived
at
this
address
for
over
50
years.
It
was
my
mom's
house,
my
parents
house.
I
grew
up
in
it,
I'm
now
living
in
it.
It's
my
house.
Over
the
years,
it's
like
mr
stone,
said
a
lot
of
beautiful
homes
have
been
destroyed,
torn
down,
not
it's
no
one's
fault,
and
it's
not
your
fault.
It's
not
my
fault.
It's
not
anybody's
fault.
It's
just
the
role
of
the
dice.
H
I
F
H
H
I
have
a
sister
and
a
brother-in-law,
my
brother-in-law
used
to
live
in
that
garage
apartment.
He
worked
at
channel
12
news.
My
sister
lived
in
the
house
that
she
grew
up
in
those
two
met.
Those
two
work
together
went
to
school.
Together
they
wind
up
getting
married.
They
have
a
baby
girl
who's
right
now
in
her
20s
smart
as
a
whip.
I
H
Is
memories?
That
is
why
I'm
saying
this
is
all
sentimental
stuff.
I've
lived
in
that
neighborhood
for
over
50
years,
and
I've
seen
major
changes
going
on
some
good.
Some
bad
bulma
is
rich
in
culture
and
everything
else.
It
says
so
on
the
water
tower
to
leave
to
lose
a
portion
of
that
is
devastating
to
not
only
myself
but
to
everybody
else.
H
I
don't
like
to
lose
history.
I
like
to
grow
old.
You
can
see
history,
keep
going,
that's
why
I've
talked
to
people,
including
contractors,
electricians,
plumbers,
concrete
people
and
they
all
agree.
These
items,
structures
can
be
saved
and
a
lot
can
come
out
of
it
promise
you
need
the
right
people
and
the
right
money.
That's
basically
all
it
is
it's
about
money.
H
H
What
I
remember
like
I
said:
I've
lived
in
that
neighborhood
for
50
years,
and
I've
seen
some
beautiful
homes
that
I
used
to
play
in
when
I
was
a
little
kid
with
other
people.
They
used
to
go
to
school
with
longfellow
elementary
austin
junior
high
baltimore
high
school,
which
later
became
barbara,
charles
and
paula,
and
then
afterwards
was
changed.
I
grew
up
in
their
neighborhood
and
I
went
to
schools
in
that
neighborhood
and
I
noticed
people
that
were
living
in
that
neighborhood
that
I
grew
up
in
of
course.
H
I
just
I
I
just
don't
want
to
see
any
more
things
that
I've
grown
up,
watching
them
being
destroyed
and
left
flat.
Is
this
counter
here?
Yes,
I
agree.
Some
structures
need
to
go,
but
others
don't
I've
seen
some
beautiful
homes
that
have
potential.
They
were
built
back
in
the
1800s
they're
gone
you're
not
going
to
get
them
back,
and
then
you
still
have
some
that
still
are
there,
but
it
costs
a
lot
of
money
to
keep
these
structures
up.
H
Anyway,
I
do
appreciate
you
letting
me
talk,
speak
my
peace
of
mind
on
this,
my
very
first
time.
So
please
bear
with
me
and
forgive
me
if
I
took
it
up
more
of
your
time
than
necessary.
That's.
A
H
A
A
A
That
they
have
to
come
forward
and
ask
that
we
not
do
it.
Frankly,
I
mean
there
have
been
times
where
we've
put
a
demolition
order
on
something
that
was
yes,
that
and
usually
the
mortgage
holder
or
the
person
who
has
that
interest
does
something
to
prevent
it.
But
they're
they're,
not
here,
and
I
don't
know
what
they've
communicated
apparently
they've
been
notified.
D
A
It
just
needs
the
right
person
with
the
resources
to
be
able
to
save
the
home,
and
I
personally
would
like
to
see
us
table
this,
at
least
so
that
we
can
have
some
more
time
for
people
to
come
forward
if
they,
if
they
are
interested
in
trying
to
save
the
structure,
all
right,
there's
a
motion
to
table
is
there
there's
a
second
all
those
in
favor
of
tabling
this
until
next
month,
say
aye
aye
any
opposed.
There
are
none
that
one
is
tabled,
we'll
readdress
it
next
month.
A
H
I
A
H
A
J
B
B
Case
number
pz
2021-14,
ms
ashley,
is
requesting
a
certificate
of
appropriateness
to
install
a
new
storage
building
at
the
rear
of
their
property
located
at
2233
north
7th
street.
This
property
is
on
a
corner
lot
and
the
proposed
building
will
be
visible
from
laurel
street.
The
storage
building
will
be
made,
storage
building
will
be
made
of
metal
and
have
a
box
frame
with
an
a
frame
roof
pitch.
It
will
sit
nine
feet
in
height
31
feet
in
length,
20
feet
in
width.
B
B
The
structure
has
an
overhang
of
at
least
12
inches
and
the
roof
pitch
match
the
pitch
of
the
house.
The
structure
me
and
that
the
structure
meets
all
requirements
set
by
building
codes
and
that
the
structure
is
in
compliance
with
setbacks
set
forth
in
section
28.03
district
area
and
height
regulations.
A
So
it's
replacing
that
garage
that
we
see
in
that
photograph.
That's
right
and
these
additional
conditions
that
staff
is
recommending
have
they
been
communicated
to
the
applicant
and
and
what
is
the
applicant's
response
to
those
conditions.
B
B
No,
the
garage,
I'm
sorry,
okay,
yeah
so
7th
street
and
then
laurel
it's
going
to
be
on
that
corner
side,
visible.
A
K
My
name
is
alan
hollingsworth,
I
own
the
home,
with
with
ashley
233
north
7th
street,
we're
demolishing
the
old
garage.
It
is
in
currently
terrible
shape.
K
Lots
of
termite
apparent
termite
damage
from
the
outside,
as
well
as
the
inside
on
multiple
structural
beams,
and
so
we're
going
to
demolish
that
put
in
the
metal
one,
mostly
just
because
metal
termites
can't
really
eat
and
plus,
hopefully
that
will
stop
a
nest
from
forming
in
another
shed
and
possibly
move
to
the
home,
okay
and
currently
the
carport
and
garage
we
can't
fit
any
of
our
vehicles
in
there
only
people
with
very
small
vehicles
and
sedans
pretty
much.
I
have
to
crouch
to
get
in
there
currently.
A
L
L
The
the
paint
coating
that
comes
on
the
metal
panels
is
a
good
20
year
warranty
once
they
put
paint
on
top
of
it
his
20
year.
Warranty
is
no
good
anymore,
so
can
we
can
we
see
if
they
can
bring
in
panels
that
closely
match
the
the
house
and
let
staff
make
a
determination
if
they
feel
like
it
doesn't
match
good
enough
or
not
to
get
custom
painted
panels
for
building
the
small
is
very,
very
expensive.
K
If
I
may,
my
current
job
that
I
do,
I
paint
is
one
of
my
one
of
these
side
jobs
at
my
current
job.
I
do
I'm
in
no
way,
I
wouldn't
say
I'm
done
when
it
comes
to
painting,
but
I
can
definitely
handle
a
metal
building
the
sanding,
the
prepping.
All
that
work
I
pers
personally
can
handle
that
myself.
Okay,.
A
L
M
A
A
A
E
A
So
the
the
motion
is
that
the
request
be
approved
with
the
additional
four
recommendations
that
staff
from
staff:
okay,
that
that's
the
current
motion
in
front
of
us
and
there's
a
second
all,
those
in
favor
say
aye
aye
any
opposed
there
are
none
it's
approved,
and
one
of
the
recommendations
is
is
that
it
matched
the
home
and
whether
y'all
do
that
with
paint
or
through
them
being
able
to
match
it.
That's
how
we'll
go
forward
all
right.
B
Okay
case
number
pz
2021-47
is
a
request
for
a
certificate
of
demolition
to
demolish
the
existing
home
and
a
certificate
of
appropriateness
for
a
new
construction
located
at
2234
avalon.
The
existing
structure
received
substantial
damage
from
the
hurricane
harvey
disaster,
which
is
why
they
are
requesting
the
permission
to
demo.
B
The
new
construction
will
be
completed
under
the
texas
general
land
office
harvey
program.
So
that's
like
a
glo
home.
The
new
house
will
be
made
or
will
be
of
craft
craftsman
style.
This
home
will
be
354
square
feet
and
contain
three
bedrooms:
two
bathrooms
a
kitchen
and
a
living
room.
The
house
is
proposed
to
be
constructed
on
pure
and
beam
foundation,
wood
framing
horizontal
lap,
cement,
fiber,
siding
and
30
year,
architectural
roof
shingles.
B
The
elevation
drawings
indicate
that
the
windows
will
be
one
over
one
in
appearance.
Tom
is
also
requesting
the
body
paint
to
be
a
virtual
top.
The
trim
to
be
accessible
beige
and
the
accent
color
to
be
rustic
red
staff
receive
one
letter
in
favor
and
zero
in
opposition
for
the
demolition
staff
recommends
approval
of
both
requests
subject
to
the
following
conditions:
number
one:
the
structure
shall
be
elevated
on
peer
and
bean
foundation.
Number
two
parking
and
ada
access
ramp
shall
be
located
at
the
rear
of
the
property
number
three.
B
A
E
Could
you
read
the
person's.
A
L
M
My
name
is
liam
hawkins.
I
work
for
drc
homes
for
the
contractor,
who's
going
to
be
demoing
and
rebuilding
the
home.
A
A
M
A
Okay,
so
this
is
basically
the
fema
insurance
type
program
that
we
had
after
rita
at
night.
This
is
after
harvey.
Yes,.
M
A
L
L
Six,
that's
that's
a
deal.
The
column
details
are
totally
different
on
the
the
new
is
just
square
posts.
The
old
has
a
little
crown
molding
at
the
top,
and
these
are
not
expensive
components,
but
I
just
think
that
if
we're
going
to
tear
a
house
down
that
has
certain
character
to
it,
then
we
ought
to
put
the
new
house
up
with
those
same
items.
L
The
second
I
mean.
The
third
thing
is
that
the
existing
house
and
the
gable
on
the
front
of
the
house
has
a
little
window
in
the
gate
and
then
the
gable
itself.
The
end
gable
has
a
has
a
siding
pattern
that
looks
to
me,
like
it's,
a
board,
mat
and
siding
pattern
with
the
bottom
of
the
pattern,
having
a
little
sort
of
a
zigzag
to
the
bottom
of
it,
which
is
a
really
nice
character
to
that
building.
L
L
L
J
J
I
was
like
I've
spoken
to
this
homeowner
before
and
she's
explained
that
she
has
coffee
with
the
raccoons
in
the
mornings.
Mm-Hmm.
C
I
J
M
C
A
M
If
I
may
comment
there,
the
homeowner
was
able
to
pick
from
a
couple
of
different
elevation
styles,
and
this
was
the
elevation
style
they
picked.
They
didn't
want
the
gable
at
the
top.
A
L
A
L
L
I'll
be
happy
to
make
the
recommendation.
My
recommendation
is
that
the
structure
shall
be
elevated
on
pure
being
foundation,
parking
and
ada
access
ramp
shall
be
located
on
the
rear
of
the
property.
Roof
overhang
should
be
a
minimum
of
12.
Inches
columns
shall
be
constructed
to
match
the
existing
house.
Columns
windows
will
be
six
over
six
in
appearance.
L
The
round
window
in
the
gable
be
installed
on
the
new
house,
the
moldings
around
the
windows
on
the
exterior
the
frames
around
the
windows
will
match
the
old
house
and
the
detailing
in
the
gable
of
the
old
house,
the
board
and
batten,
the
detailing
of
the
gate,
will
be
maintained.
L
A
E
J
Hi
guys
have
you
all
missed
me.
It
has
been
a
crazy
busy
couple
months
in
the
district
we've
had
33
historic
violations
with
35
historic,
reinspections,
nine
hlc
decision
follow-up
inspections,
18
cas
were
issued
that
did
not
have
to
come
to
y'all
for
paint
minor
things
like
that.
16
charges
filed
for
violations
of
zoning
ordinances,
42
court
appearances,
29
court
inspections,
10
new
letter
violations,
six
weed
violations,
three,
which
were
cut
by
the
city.
Three
zoning
violations
and
56
cases
closed
for
a
grand
total
of
281
inspections,
wow.
A
J
Have
been
busy
yes
and
the
calder
situation,
I
don't
know
if
anybody
was
involved
with
that.
We
have
an
inspection
tomorrow
to
verify
that
it's

I
don't
know
if
anyone
was
familiar
with
that
one
game
room
in
the
2400
block
at
the
old
sna
grocery
we've
shut
it
down
twice,
but
we're
pretty
sure
they're
closed
out.
By
now
we
have
an
inspection
tomorrow
at
10
to
verify
that
all
the
games
have
been
removed.
Good.

Marie
okay,
marie
broussard,
was
appointed
as
commissioner
on
the
city
of
beaumont
historic,
landmark
commission
on
may
2
1995
and
served
on
the
commission
until
her
death
on
october
23
2020
in
her
25
years
on
the
commission.
She
was
a
very
active
and
dedicated
commissioner.
She
also
served
on
the
subcommittee
to
create
the
historic
beaumont
tour
brochure.
N
The
brochure
committee
was
formed
in
1997
and
completed
the
brochure
in
2003.
The
completed
brochure
presented
a
driving
tour
of
over
40
historic
buildings
in
beaumont.
It
presented
architectural
details
as
well
as
the
historical
significance
of
each
building
chosen.
Mrs
berssard's
contributions
to
the
brochure
were
vital
to
its
completion.
N
She
was
also,
of
course,
involved
with
roussard's
mortuary,
as
her
husband
alex
and
his
brother
james
represent
the
third
generation
of
the
broussard
family.
To
run
the
business
that
served
the
community
since
the
1800s
that
has
served
the
community
since
the
1800s
in
these
ways
and
many
others,
mrs
broussard,
was
devoted
to
her
family
and
the
beaumont
community
at
large,
the
city
of
beaumont
and
the
historic
landmark
commission
were
truly
blessed
by
the
contributions
of
such
a
hard
working
and
selfless
selfless.
