From YouTube: Future Bus - sound for media use

Description

Sound: G Douglas Bundy/Technology & Arts Teacher

A recent retiree from the Beaverton School District has already found a second career.

The Future Ready team from Beaverton Schools is repurposing Bus #224 into a mobile maker space and learning lab.

The interior has been gutted and retrofitted with rolling chests, power outlets, and coffee. The District’s Instructional Innovation Team will soon bring a host of inspiring learning activities to kids and teachers at every school in the District.

The bus will carry 3D printers, electronics prototyping kits, and programmable robots as well as the tools and supplies to promote hands-on learning by making real things. A mix of STEM, STEAM, and duct tape hopes to inspire kids to roll up their sleeves and start making.

The FutureBus is made possible by the innovative thinkers in the District’s Teaching and Learning department and generous support from First Tech Credit Union, Gallagher Design, Stumptown Coffee, and the Beaverton Education Foundation.
