A
All
opposed
motion
passes.
This
is
our
citizen
comment
time.
I,
don't
have
anyone
that
signed
up,
but
if
you
choose
to
speak,
you
can
speak
on
anything.
We
don't
have
any
public
hearings
tonight.
So
topics
are
broad
for
tonight.
You
have
three
minutes.
If
you
come
up
and
state
your
name
and
your
address
for
the
record.
A
B
That
with
us,
thank
you
Mr
chair
on
the
consent
agenda.
This
evening
there
are
four
items:
6A
consideration
of
a
resolution,
approving
a
request
from
the
clerk
of
circuit
court
to
contract
with
bis
digital
for
recording
equipment
in
the
courtroom
item
6B
consideration
of
a
resolution
accepting
and
appropriating
a
sponsorship
from
centra's
Department
of
Community
Health
in
the
amount
of
fifteen
thousand
five
hundred
dollars.
B
6C
consideration
of
a
resolution
approving
the
addition
of
Route
908
Mead
road
to
VDOT,
secondary
system
and
6D
is
a
consideration
of
a
resolution
authorizing
the
advertisement
of
a
public
hearing
on
Bedford
County
Nursing
Home
rate
changes
in
regard
to
6D.
This
item
was
before
you.
At
a
prior
meeting,
we
had
a
hiccup
meeting
the
advertisement
deadline.
So
it's
before
you
again
with
the
new
advertised
public
hearing
date.
A
By
Mr
Sharp,
is
there
a
second
okay?
Second,
by
Mr
Scott?
This
is
a
roll
call,
Mr
Davis,
yes,
Mr
Scott,
yes,
Miss
Parker,
yes,
Mr
Johnson,
yes,
Ms
bansley,
yes,
Mr
Sharp,
yes,
chair
votes,
yes,
motion
passes
next
on
the
agenda.
Is
the
approval
of
the
minutes
from
February
13th
of
2023.?
Are
there
any
corrections
to
those.
D
A
F
Therefore,
be
it
proclaimed
that
the
Bedford
County
Board
of
Supervisors
recognizes
the
week
of
April
9th
through
April
15
2023,
as
debt
designated
as
National
telecommunicators
weekend,
that
all
residents
of
the
county
of
Bedford
are
invited
to
observe
this
annual
event
signed
by
Edgar
tuck
chairman
Bedford,
County
Board
of
Supervisors.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
A
G
Yes,
sir
Mr
chairman
members
of
the
board,
thank
you
good
afternoon.
We
received
a
grant
proposal
from
the
Virginia
Department
of
Criminal
Justice
or
the
arpa
grant
for
263
thousand
dollars.
This
is
a
no
match.
It's
just
money
that
the
it's
filtered
through
our
governor's
office
to
to
the
Sheriff's
Office.
So
with
that
working
with
our
County
board
with
our
County
Administration,
this
is
the
first
time
we've
been
able
to
just
buy
equipment
and
the
equipment
is
one
of
them
or
three
of
our
or
three
of
our
vehicles
for
next
year.
G
So
that's
very
amazing,
because
the
first
time
we've
ever
received
a
grant
like
that,
so
we
have
put
in
for
three
vehicles
we
put
in
for
the
ATV
and
we
put
in
for
some
sites
and
some
holsters
for
our
new
Glock
nine
millimeters,
which
comes
up
to
about
260
thousand.
So
we're
asking
permission
to
submit
the
grant.
F
F
A
G
A
C
H
B
We
do
have
two
additional
work
session
meetings
coming
up
before
the
tax
rate
hearing
on
the
17th
and
the
24th
right
now
we
don't
have
anything
planned
for
the
17th
unless
there's
additional
information
the
board
would
like
to
discuss.
You
know.
Also
up
on
the
table
is
the
work
session
before
the
regular
meeting
on
the
24th.
B
That's
going
to
be
a
long
evening,
I'm
not
sure
where
the
board's
feelings
are
on
having
the
work
session,
in
addition
to
the
regular
meeting,
but
it
is
open
for
discussion,
staff
would
just
need
to
know
what
items
the
board
would
be
looking
to
review
additional
questions
that
need
to
be
answered
before
the
hearing.
I
didn't
get
much
of
that
out
of
the
conversation
tonight
aside
from
the
Community
Development
fees,
is
there
anything
outstanding
that
staff
can
provide
to
the
board
at
these
upcoming
work
sessions?.
C
D
Okay,
so
we're
going
to
be
meeting
on
Monday
with
various
members
of
Staff,
with
maintenance
and
with
it
and
a
few
others,
so
that
we
can
we're
going
to
have
the
whole
building
set
up
so
that
we'll
have
three
overflow
rooms.
The
live
stream
won't
have
the
long
delay
we're
going
to
bring
it
down
to
like
a
five
second
delay,
surprise
Peter
and
then
we're
going
to
have
it
rotating
with
maybe
a
deputy
or
a
staff
member
in
each
room.
D
B
D
Can't
have
it
at
Susie
Gibson
anymore,
because
they
took
all
of
the
sound
equipment
out
of
the
auditorium.
I
had
discussed
what
the
County
Administrator
may
be.
Moving
the
meeting
to
Liberty
but
I
believe
he
had
a
conversation
with
you'd.
D
Would
have
to
do
another
30-day
advertisement
and
stuff
like
that,
so
we
ended
up
saying
we're
just
gonna
we're
gonna
make
this
building
work.
It
won't
be
as
perfect
as
having
everybody
all
in
one
room,
but
everybody
will
be
seeing
the
meeting.
There
won't
be
this
long,
30
second
delay,
because
we
can
set
that
that
way.
Everybody
will
be
seeing
it
in
real
time.
D
D
What
we're
going
to
do
is
do
that
in
groups.
Everybody
in
this
room
would
speak
first,
then
we
would
bring
the
people
from
across
the
hall
over
these
people
would
switch
rooms.
That's
why
we're
going
to
take
a
break
switch
everybody
around
bring
people
from
the
second
floor
up
when
it's
time
for
this
group
to
switch
again,
so
we're
basically
going
to
be
moving
the
speakers
so
you'll
hear
everybody
in
this
room
that
wants
to
speak.
D
D
That's
why
the
sheriff
has
is
is
going
to
be
meeting
with
us
too
on
Wednesday,
so
we
can
figure
out
how
many
people
we
need
in
the
building.
We
also
don't
want
too
much
like
if
you
have
the
last
time
we
had
a
really
large
group
of
people
here
it
was
about
160
people.
If
you
look
out
in
the
hallway
now,
that's
where
the
cracks
in
the
floor
and
on
the
columns
came
from.
D
There
was
too
much
weight
on
the
floor,
so
we
are
working
to
be
sure
that
we
don't
exceed
any
kind
of
room
limit.
As
far
as
capacity
this
room
holds
75
people
we
can
put
at
least
I
would
say
close
to
that
in
the
ground
floor,
training
room
we
can
put,
maybe
I,
think
it's
30
or
40
people
in
the
kitchen
room
and
probably
about
30
across
the
hall.
The
tables
are
going
to
be
pulled
out.
It's
just
going
to
be
chairs,
lined
up
to
see
those
screens.
D
E
E
D
Remember
when
we
had
the
last
the
last
time
we
had
a
reassessment
and
we
had
a
tax
rate
hearing
we
met
at
Liberty
Middle,
it
looked
deceptively
huge.
There
were
about
130
people
there,
but
it
looked
because
they
were
out
in
the
audience
and
we
had
all
the
chairs
clustered
around
it
looked
like.
We
have
400
people
there
we
didn't
and
we
had
six
people
get
up
to
speak.
H
D
D
D
B
E
A
D
I
need
to
know
no
later
than
Wednesday
you're
talking
about
next
next
week.
April
17th,
unless
you
have
something
else
you
want
to
keep
it
on,
is
that
yeah,
okay,.
