B
A
Very
happy
to
welcome
you
all
here
today
to
the
reopening
of
City
Hall
Plaza
and
we're
also
commemorating
our
seventh
70th
anniversary
of
becoming
Incorporated
from
1954..
We
have
some
council
members
here
today:
53
you're
right.
Thank
you!
Deputy
Mayor!
We
have
some
council
members
here.
We
have
Deputy
Mayor
Jared
noon,
house,
council,
member
Conrad,
Lee,
council,
member
John,
Stokes
council,
member
Janice
Dunn.
A
Is
there
anybody
I'm
missing?
Okay,
great?
Well,
you
know,
I,
don't
know
if
you
can
see
well,
we
can
see
two
of
these
statues
and
then
the
beautiful
statue
over
over
there,
which
is
my
favorite.
We
have
some
beautiful
artwork
in
City,
Hall
Plaza
and
those
three
statues
came
from
our
sister
city
in
Taiwan,
walian
and
I
want
to
welcome
director
General
Daniel
Chen
from
the
Taipei
economic
and
cultural
office.
Thank
you
for
being
here.
I
want
to
do
a
special
welcome
to
sound
transit
for
be
our
partners
here.
A
You've
been
amazing
partners
and
collaborators
with
the
city
of
Bellevue.
We
are
so
excited
to
get
East
Lincoln
to
Bellevue
I'm
rooting
for
24.,
but
we'll
we'll
take
it
when
we
get
it,
but
we're
very
excited
about
that
and
you've
been
wonderful
collaborators
with
us.
You
know,
Sound
Transit
is
going
to
be
a
benefit
to
the
city
and
the
entire
region,
and
it's
a
part
of
our
multi
multi-modal
system
that
really
makes
Transportation
more
sustainable,
efficient
and
enjoyable,
and
another
part
of
that
is
the
grand
connection
which
is
a
pet
bike
path.
A
So
I'm
really
excited
for
the
potential
of
this
Grand
connection.
The
plaza
will
be
a
big
part
of
it.
You
were
enjoying
these
colorful
bistro
tables
thanks
to
the
Bellevue
Downtown
Association.
This
is
their
way
of
activating
the
area,
but
this
is
just
a
sample
of
what
they
can
do,
we're
going
to
be
experiencing
a
lot
of
events
and
activities
along
the
grand
Connection
in.
A
Thank
you.
Yes,
we
are,
and
and
on
this
Plaza
and
we're
really
looking
forward
to
hearing
from
the
community
what
they
want
to
see
here.
I
think
that's
all
I
have
to
say
about
this.
I'm
excited
to
be
here
excited
to
finally
have
this
open.
It's
such
a
beautiful
space
and
it's
it's
a
space
that
we're
all
it's
for
the
people.
This
is
the
people's
home
and
I'm
very
happy
to
be
able
to
share
it
again.
So,
with
that
I'd
like
to
introduce
Sound,
Transit
CEO,
Julie
Tim.
C
B
I'm
going
with
technology
here
so
first
and
foremost,
happy
birthday,
Bellevue.
B
I've
been
with
Sound
Transit
now
for
six
months,
and
this
is
my
first
official
ribbon
cutting
and
to
do
it
on
the
Bellevue
side
of
the
region
where
we
might
have
the
next
potential
opening
of
light.
Rail
is
truly
exciting
and
really
heartwarming
for
me
to
be
here
with
the
Pacific
Northwest
weather.
B
So
with
that,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you.
Projects
like
this
can
happen
without
the
vision
and
the
leadership
and
the
championship
of
the
the
partners
that
we
have
in
the
region-
and
this
is
a
very
this-
is
a
prime
example
of
that
Partnership
of
that
Championship
we
are
surrounded
by
Sound
Transit
at
this
Plaza
I'm
sure
that
you're
aware
we
have
the
station
behind
us.
We
have
the
park
that
will
be
coming
soon,
opening
soon
to
the
south
of
us.
We
have
the
trail
that
that's
over
near
the
the
the
trail.
C
B
Have
the
Tod
in
the
Spring
District
we
have.
We
have
transportation,
multimodal
Sound
Transit
all
around
us
and
I'm,
so
so
happy
and
so
pleased
to
be
part
of
this
ribbon
cutting
the
celebration
today
and
we
are
so
proud
of
our
partners,
but
honestly
it's
well.
It
takes
the
Champions.
It
takes
the
leadership
to
make
these
things
happen.
The
true
heroes
are
the
staff,
the
city
staff,
the
county
staff
and
the
Sound
Transit
staff.
B
So
I
really
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
you
and
your
hard
work
to
make
today
a
reality
and
to
lead
us
towards
the
future
openings
of
Light
Rail
in
Bellevue.
Thank
you.
So
much
to
your,
the
team
can
I
ask
y'all
to
like
raise
your
hands,
so
we
can
see
you
because
I
know
you're.
Here
the
Sound
Transit
staff,
Bellevue
staff,
Police
Department
fire
department.
It
takes
all
of
us
together
to
make
these
a
reality.
B
I
am
so
happy
also
to
see
the
foo
dogs
that
are
I
understand
that
they
were
taken
away
for
their
protection
for
quite
some
time,
and
it
is
so
nice
to
see
them
back
in
place
where
they
belong
and
the
entire
city
can
enjoy
them
with
that,
I
really
want
to
say.
Thank
you
so
much
for
having
me
here.
Thank
you
for
the
championship,
the
partnership,
the
ongoing
expansion
of
multimodal
Transit
that
will
help
us
move
more
people,
connect
more
people,
economic
development
for
this
region
for
this
city,
for
the
growth
that
is
coming.
B
D
So
good
morning,
everyone
thank
you
Julie
for
and
mayor
for
those
really
nice
comments.
It's
really
my
time
for
adding
City
Manager
for
Bellevue
I'm.
D
Really
thank
you
for
being
here
for
today
to
celebrate
this
major
event
here,
which,
as
the
mayor
manager,
coincidentally,
is
the
same
day
as
our
70th
Anniversary
it's
today,
actually
that
we
incorporated
back
in
1953
and
over
70
years,
you
know
from
we
have
evolved
from
a
like
a
small
farm
town,
I've
seen
pictures
with
dirt
roads
in
Bellevue
and
yeah
over
70
years
have
transformed
into
this
beautiful
city
of
you
know,
high-tech,
which
is
the
high-tech
Hub
on
the
east
side.
D
You
know,
but
one
step
in
that
Journey
was
the
Reconstruction
of
this
Plaza
back
in
2017,
in
preparation
for
Light,
Rail
and
boy.
Take
a
look
at
the
fox.
Those
of
us
that
have
been
here
for
a
while,
remember
the
pause
of
before
and
now
what
it
is
today.
It
is
a
very
inviting
Plaza
with
some
very
cool
art.
As
both
the
mayor
and
Julie
mentioned.
C
D
By
a
Pacific
Northwest
artist,
his
name
was
Dan
Corson
and
it
is
a
bronze
root.
Art
piece
that's
supposed
to
represent
all
the
infrastructure
systems
within
the
city
of
Bellville
life
Transportation,
as
well
as
the
utilities.
We
also
have
the
pieces
that
were
referenced
by
both
the
mayor
and
by
CEO
Julie
Tim,
which
were
donated
to
us
by
their
sister
cities,
Walling
time,
while
in
Taiwan
and
before
I.
You
know
just
say
a
brief
word
about
them.
I
just
want
to
give
a
big
shout
out
to
a
Intel
with
our
sister
city
for.
D
You
know
having
a
really
strong
support
by
our
sister
cities.
Has
allowed
art
like
this
to
happen
not
just
here,
but
in
other
parts
of
the
city
and
I
just
want
to
acknowledge
that,
but
the
one
Yin
is,
as
you
enter
in
through
to
our
city
hall.
D
It
represents
a
goddess
of
mercy
and
compassion,
and
then
the
food
dogs
that
were
mentioned
are
there
that
represent
protection
of
all
of
us
in
City
Hall
that
do
the
work
of
the
city
and
and
there's
I
know,
there's
information
if
anybody's
interested
and
knowing
more
about
that.
D
But
you
know
in
closing
I
just
really
want
to
thank
the
leadership
here
both
past
and
present,
for
just
your
thoughtful
leadership,
planning
Vision
courage
over
the
past
70
years,
because
pure
leadership
has
truly
transformed
the
city
into
what
you
see
today
and
I
want
to
thank
our
partners
that
really
supported
the
Bellevue
Vision.
You
know
I
wanted
to
recognize
the
BDA,
the
Bellevue
Downtown
Association,
the
Chamber
of
Commerce,
especially
Sound
Transit,
and
our
sister
cities,
Association,
the
city
of
walin
and
the
Taipei
economic
and
cultural
office
in
Seattle.
D
And
finally,
as
everybody
mentioned,
I
want
to
acknowledge
to
all
the
staff,
because
without
the
staff
none
of
this
happens-
and
you
know
I
just
will
say
you
know
I
I
thank
the
staff
for
what's
happening
today,
but
as
we
go
forward
in
the
future,
what
they
will
be
doing
in
terms
of
making
the
city
the
place
you
want
to
be.
So.
Thank
you
very
much
and
I'm
going
to
invite
I
guess
the
mayor
up,
because
I
guess
we're
going
to
cut
the
ribbon
now
on
the
council.
Members
I,
don't
I!
