Description
Candidate forum hosted by the Bellevue Downtown Association for candidates running for Bellevue City Council seats in the November 2023 General Election.
A
A
Yes,
welcome
to
the
September
downtown
talks
program.
This
morning
we
are
featuring
our
city
council
candidates
in
a
Q&A
format.
A
A
You,
okay,
so
the
Belleview
Downtown
Association
is
a
membership
organization.
It
has
been
in
existence
since
1974
meant
to
support
a
thriving
downtown.
In
doing
so.
However,
we
do
not
endorse
candidates,
nor
do
we
fund
campaigns,
but
we
do
work
closely
with
council
members
and
we
care
a
lot
about
the
future
direction
of
the
city
and
the
leadership
that
we
have
in
this
community
guidelines
and
agreements.
A
A
Candidates
choose
many
reasons
why
they
want
to
run
run
for
Council
and
we're
going
to
hear
a
number
of
reasons
why
they're
running
for
Council
so
we'll
put
on
our
best
listening
ears
and
enjoy
the
conversation
I'm
going
to
ask
the
audience
to
please
hold
any
Applause
jeers
cheers
until
after
we're
done
with
each
position,
we're
going
to
bring
it
up
position
by
position
and
run
through
essentially
the
same
questions
for
each
position.
What
else?
So?
The
way
that
we
show
up
this
morning
is
really
going
to
determine
how
the
program
will
flow.
A
Btv
has
joined
us
they're,
going
to
record
the
the
program
and
rebr
it
at
a
l,
later
date
and
I'm
sure
exercising
outstanding
editing
skills
to
make
it
seem
very
smooth.
Okay,
we're
ready
to
start
I
randomly
selected
the
position
order
for
the
candidates
to
come
up,
and
we
have
a
timekeeper.
Also
so
I'll
try
to
repeat
each
question
and
ensure
the
candidates
know
the
time
limit.
You
know
the
time
limit
and
McKenzie
knows
the
time
limit.
She
has
a
yellow
card
for
10-sec,
warning
and
then
red
for
full
stop.
A
As
I
mentioned,
the
order
is
was
randomly
selected
and
we're
going
to
start
with
position.
One
then
position
three
then
position.
7,
then
position
five,
so
follow
along.
This
should
be
entertaining
we're
beginning
with
position.
One
I
would
like
to
invite
both
Paul
Clark
and
John
Stokes
to
the
stage
and,
let's,
let's
welcome
them
to
the.
A
Stokes
Paul
Clark,
okay,
M
microphones,
are
on
so
this
is
a
little
bit
strange
sitting
in
the
middle
and
then
doing
a
Q&A
to
the
right
and
the
left.
That's
okay,
we're
going
to
adapt
I,
might
take
the
microphone
off
and
pretend
I'm.
You
know
we're
having
a
conversation,
but
your
job
is
to,
of
course,
speak
to
the
audience
the
constituents
here
in
in
in
our
community
all
right,
our
first.
The
first
question
is
going
to
be
a
30
second
timed
response
and
again
McKenzie's
over
there
Mackenzie.
A
Let's
practice,
yellow
red,
okay,
we're
going
to
move
quickly.
First
question
is:
what
do
you
love
about
living
in
Belleview
and
we're
going
to
start
with
Mr
Clark.
B
Well,
I'm
going
to
answer
that
in
the
form
of
what
do
I
love
living
about
downtown
B
you
because
that's
where
I
live
have
for
20
years,
and
it
is
in
the
center
of
everything
it's
in
the
center
of
culture.
It's
in
the
center
of
retail.
My
daughter
can
get
her
favorite,
Ramen
and
macaroon
all
the
things
that
we
can
do.
We
don't
have
to
plan
for
travel
for
Transit.
We
can
simply
walk
there.
The
walkable
lifestyle
downtown
is
invaluable
to
me
to
my
family
love.
It.
C
Oh
seriously,
I
we've
been
here
since
1991
and
we
just
love
it
and
the
what
I
love
about
is
the
changes
in
our
adaptability
and
how
we've
grown
I
mean
it's
just
amazing.
This
need
tip
down
is
that
it's
going
to
fall
apart,
h,
no
I!
Really
it's
the
diversity.
We
have
it's
the
we
can
go
downtown.
We
can
live
in
Woodridge,
real,
close
to
downtown
right,
Trestle,
and
but
you
can
go
all
over
and
it's
a
different
city
every
place
we
go,
but
it's
a
city
that
is
it's
together.
C
C
Thank
you
to
the
biew
Downtown
Association
for
Organizing
this
forum,
I'm
John,
Stokes
and
I've,
been
a
serving
on
the
bellw
city
council
since
2012
I've
been
a
strong
voice
in
representing
our
constituents
and
advocating
on
improving
our
transportation,
but
helping
to
make
the
light
rail
coming
to
Bell
viw
a
reality.
C
I've
also
voted
on
a
multitude
of
issues
over
the
years
for
taking
measures
to
address
climate
change,
to
Affordable
to
Public
Safety,
all
of
which
are
important
aspects
of
our
growing
economy
and
for
businesses
to
continue
to
thrive
in
Belleview,
I'm,
very
proud
to
have
received
the
endorsements
of
bellw,
firefighters,
all
Congress
members
and
legislators
that
represent
Bellevue
Mar
ly,
Robinson
County,
Executive,
D,
Constantine
and
council
members,
Claudia
balduchi
and
Pete
Von,
rbow,
and
also
and
he's
here
tonight.
Today.
C
Matt
Larson,
former
snow
homish
mayor
as
well
as
unions,
healthcare
workers
and
many
others.
I'm
very
excited
to
be
here
and
look
forward
to
this.
B
Great
hello,
thanks
to
the
BDA
to
Patrick
and
all
of
you
here
today
my
name
is
Paul
Clark
I
actually
moved
downtown
in
2002
worked
in
the
Skyline
Tower
lived
in
the
Avalon
Belleview
a
few
blocks
away.
This
is
back
when
we
had
a
Dairy
Queen,
where
the
braver
now
sits.
I
still
live
downtown.
So,
as
you
can
imagine,
I've
seen
a
lot.
The
last
20
years,
incredible
opportunities
places
to
go
places
to
eat
things.
To
do
things
to
see
cultural
events,
not
everything's
so
positive,
while
downtown
is
generally
safe.
B
I
would
say
it's
not
like
it
was
10
years
ago
and
I
think
a
lot
of
you
would
agree
and
you
can't
get
a
blizzard
anymore.
We
have
to
go
up
to
Kirkland
for
that
now
my
wife,
my
daughter
and
I,
walk
nearly
everywhere.
So
Public
Safety
is
incredibly
important
to
me.
It's
why
I
served
in
the
Civil
Service
Commission?
Why
I'm
proud
to
have
the
police
officer
police
officers
Guild
endorsement?
B
Additionally,
my
daughter
loves
the
downtown
park,
especially
the
vine,
climbing
the
vine
wall
at
the
inspiration
playground,
seeing
Parks
enrich
her
life
is
what
led
me
to
serve
on
and
then
currently
chair,
the
Parks
Board,
leading
to
several
efforts
on
everything
from
offleash
dog
parks
to
pickle
ball
courts
around
the
city
own,
a
small
Tech
business
member
of
the
Belleview
chamber,
endorsed
by
the
EBA,
the
Realtors,
the
general
contractors,
deputy
mayor,
neous,
council,
members,
Robertson
and
Lee.
These
end
Ms
are
very
unusual
because
folks,
don't
always
like
to
endorse
against
an
incumbent.
B
Yet
all
these
stakeholders
and
more
have
determined
it's
time
for
a
change
in
this
Council
seat.
I
want
bie
to
continue
to
grow
into
a
center
of
innovation
and
opportunity,
while
becoming
an
even
more
exciting
place
to
live
at
the
heart
of
that
is
downtown.
It's
time
for
someone
who's
lived
downtown
to
be
on
the
council.
That's
me,
I
love
your
vote.
Thank
you.
A
All
right
time,
oh
hold,
thank
you.
I
forgot
to
introduce
myself
and
again
anything
goes
wrong.
Today,
you
can
blame
me,
my
name's
Patrick
Bannon
I'm,
president
of
the
bellie
Downtown
Association.
Thank
you
for
being
here.
Thank
you
to
the
candidates
for
participating.
Okay,
this.
These
are
one
minute
responses,
Mr
Clark
back
to
you
specifically.
How
will
you
support
a
positive
direction
and
future
for
a
thriving
downtown.
B
I
think
it's
twofold
I
think
we
need
the
foundation
for
those
positive
out,
looks
and
then
I
think
we
have
to
to
go
after
to
go
after
those
opportunities
and
by
Foundation
I'm,
really
just
talking
about
safety
in
the
economy.
B
If
we
don't
have
a
situation
where
people
feel
safe
want
to
be
downtown
both
to
live
to
work
and
to
to
come
to
the
office,
we're
going
to
have
a
problem,
we're
going
to
see
some
some
issues
like
we've
seen
up
and
down
the
West
Coast,
and
if
we
don't
have
the
revenue
to
make
our
$2.2
billion
budget
work,
we're
going
to
have
some
issues.
So
there's
a
real
practical
Foundation.
We
need
to
secure
cure
first
and
then,
after
that,
I
think
it's
really
about
growth
in
residential,
especially
the
residential
Market.
B
Although
I
think
there's,
there's
benefits
on
Commercial
and
Retail
as
well.
I
think
we
just
need
more
people
downtown
walking
around
enjoying
the
life
down
there,
creating
more
eyes
on
the
street
more
of
a
public
safety
benefit,
but
also
just
more
of
a
a
vital.
C
Well,
I
think
we've
been
doing
that
for
a
long
time
and
we're
increasing
that
and
I'm
specifically
excited
about
downtown
I
would
note
that
another
council
member
mayor,
Robinson,
actually
lives
downtown
and
I
live
very
close
to
it.
For
that
for
that
matter,
but
I
think
we're
a
lot
of
is
doing
the
building
that
are
going
on
the
changes
that
are
that
are
occurring
in
the
neighborhoods.
The
transportation
issues
we're
working
on
I.
C
Think
bellev
has
put
together
over
these
years
a
very
great
Pathway
to
move
forward,
and
we
need
to
continue
that
we're
very
ahead
of
every
city
in
the
in
the
in
the
state
in
addressing
these
issues.
So
I'm,
very
confident
that
you
know
we.
We
have
we're
in
a
pro
positive
direction
and
the
future
for
downtown
is
just
amazing
and
part
of
that
is
developing
all
the
areas
around
us
and
having
our
neighborhoods
working
in
conjunction
with
downtown
so
that
it's
not
just
focused
on
downtown
but
the
whole
area.
C
A
A
Thank
you,
Mr
Stokes,
all
right
next
question,
and
this
is
again
a
bit
of
a
a
test.
I'll
call
it
our
Wild
Card
portion,
because
council
members
naturally
have
to
think
on
on
their
feet
all
the
time.
So
this
is
a
think
onou
feet,
portion
of
the
program
they
are
going
to
choose
topics
I
think
there
are
five
or
six
topics
here
and
then
speak
to
that
topic
for
one
minute
and
we
are
going
to
start
with
Mr
Stokes
I
need
to
set
the
microphone
down
to
multitask
all
right.
A
C
I
think
the
right
direction
it
both
counts.
The
economy
is
strong
in
biew,
despite
all
the
things
we've
gone
through,
we've
we've
weathered
a
tremendous
attack
on
civilization,
and
you
know,
cities
and
everything
else.
All
this
pandemic
going
and
Bellevue
has
I
think
done
the
best
job
in
the
in
the
state
and
that's
because
we
work
real
hard
on
it.
We
we're
not
afraid
to
go
forward
and
do
things
that
are
creative
and
I.
Think
that's
made
a
great
d
difference
in
this.
The
other
is
the
community.
C
The
community
has
adopted
very
well
and
has
worked
very
well
with
us
in
terms
of
going
ahead
and
doing
things
that
a
lot
of
places
have
just
abandoned,
so
I'm
I'm,
very
positive
on
and
very
excited
about,
the
way
that
Belleview
has
gotten
through
the
pandemic
and
has
gotten
through
the
changes,
and
also
gotten
through
our
our
terrif,
going
from
what
880,000
people
to
150,000
people
and
a
downtown
being
our
largest
neighborhood
in
terms
of
of
persons.
So
I'm
really
excited
about
and
I
think
we're
going
in
the
right
direction.
C
B
No,
no,
that's
good
good,
so
I
think
in
terms
of
quality
of
life.
We
do
have
like
I
mentioned
earlier.
A
unfortunate
trajectory
on
Public,
Safety
I.
Think
a
lot
of
us
have
seen,
unfortunately,
firsthand
instances
of
untreated
mental
illness
and
drug
abuse
on
our
our
streets
downtown
and,
while
I
don't
think
that
is
anywhere
near
like
it's
happening
in
Seattle.
I.
Do
think
that
we
need
to
be
vigilant
and
it
does
concern
people,
so
I
I
do
believe
on
on
the
economy
that
we
are
facing
headwind.
B
Some
of
those
are
outside
of
the
control
of
the
city
council.
Obviously
we
have
no
influence
on
interest
rates
and
some
of
the
other
macroeconomic
trends
that
we're
facing
I
do
hope,
though,
that
we
can
see
more
residential
development,
downtown,
like
I
mentioned
and
more
specifically,
I,
think
we
need
to
revisit
some
of
the
some
of
the
incentive
zoning
that
we're
doing
on
on
residential
we're
seeing
buildings
cap
out
at
20
stories,
because
it's
just
not
penciling
above
that
and
I
think
we
need
to
fix.
A
B
I
feel
like
I
got
the
most
fun
one,
so
I
did
just
speak
to
growth
and
I
really
do
think
that
we've
seen
an
enormous
amount
of
office
growth
in
downtown.
Obviously
we're
going
to
be
seeing
how
that
plays
out
over
the
next
next
few
years,
with
return
to
office
and
potential,
potentially
a
little
bit
of
a
of
a
shakier
economy.
I
do
believe,
though,
that
Belleview
has
made
it
past.
B
The
boom
and
bus
cycle
I
think
we're
a
much
more
stable
economic
system
than
we
were
a
couple
decades
ago,
which
is
great
with
respect
to
the
comprehensive
plan
and
how
that
leads
into
growth,
though
I
think
that
we
really
do
have
to
make
sure
that,
as
as
we
come
up
with
new
land
use
codes
for
the
Western
portion
of
wilberton
and
I
really
do
want
to
focus
on
that
western
part.
B
Don't
want
to
scare
anyone
living
off
near
Kelce
Creek
that
we
do
make
sure
that
we're
not
leaving
height
and
we're
not
leaving
density
on
the
table
near
East,
Rail
and
the
light
and
near
the
Light
Rail
stations
and
and
I
think
I'll.
Leave
it
there.
Since
I
see
a
red
card.
A
C
Plan
I
think
it's
the
right
direction.
We're
going
obviously
and
I
appreciate
some
of
the
comments
that
Mr
Clark
made,
including
making
sure
that
we
get
a
prime
usage
and
and
working
with
the
changes
in
the
belet
area
and
wilberton
area,
and
we've
been
going
back
and
forth
in
terms
of
what
we
should
do
in
terms
of
height
and
all
that
we
need
to
maximize
this
to
the
greatest
extent.
C
That
will
serve
not
only
the
city
and
the
the
residents
around
there,
but
the
businesses
that
and
the
growth
in
that
area,
it's
a
great
opportunity
and
I
think
we
will
approach
that
on
a
very
positive
level.
I
think
the
comprehensive
plan
is
something
that
we
we've
had
a
great
trajectory
on
that
we
know
how
to
do
that
and
we're
going
to
work
in,
because
bellw
is
in
a
really
growth
area.
C
That
I
don't
think
we
can
understand
where
we're
going
to
go
exactly,
but
we
know
we
have
on
a
good
path
and
we
have
people
working
together
in
the
community
and
that's
extremely
important.
We
have
issues
we
deal
with
them.
I
think
we
need
to
continue
that
we're
on
a
path
to
this
success
for
this
wilberton
area,
because
I
and
a
number
of
other
people.
A
A
This
thank
you.
What
I'm
realizing
is
that
with
eight
candidates
for
positions,
we're
likely
not
to
end
on
time
so
I'm
going
to
make
an
a
call,
an
audible
and
adjust
our
timing
somewhat.
We
were
going
to
do
one
more
Wild,
Card
question,
but
I'm
going
to
ask
for
closing
statements
and
you,
of
course
you
can
address
any
one
of
these
topics:
transportation
and
Mobility
housing,
Public,
Safety
parks,
open
space
as
part
of
your
closing
statement.
A
So
if
you
can
shift
to
closing
statement,
I'd
appreciate
that
we're
going
to
do
a
minute
and
a
half
for
closing
statements.
And
again
this
is
your
opportunity
for
last
word
and
why
you
would
why
voters
should
vote
for
you
for
this.
For
city
council,
we
are
going
to
start
with
Mr
Clark.
B
Okay,
well
thanks
you
thank
you
again
for
coming
out
this
morning.
I've
traveled
the
country
and
around
the
world
for
business
and
pleasure
and
I've
not
seen
a
city
like
Bellevue.
A
huge
part
of
what
makes
us
unique
is
our
downtown.
Where
else
can
you
find
a
generally
clean
and
safe
urban
area,
with
everything
from
multiple
trillion
dollar
companies
to
to
a
host
of
innovative
startups,
the
centerpiece
of
our
Park
system?
Thank
you
for
the
Belleview
family
forth,
BDA.
By
the
way,
every
restaurant
and
Shop
Under
the
Sun
great
places
to
live
cultural
events.
B
That's
why
I've
lived
here
most
of
my
adult
life,
but
we
have
to
be
vigilant
because,
as
I
said,
cities
up
and
down
the
West
Coast
are
struggling.
They've
had
these
advantages
and
they
squandered
them.
I
think
it's
really
important
to
focus
in
on
the
public
safety
differences
between
myself
and
my
opponent,
I
invite
you
to
look
at
our
website,
there's
very
little
to
any
mention
of
Public
Safety,
whereas
mine
front
and
center
on
all
my
materials.
B
I
really
do
think
that
the
Belleview
police
officers
Guild
endorsement
is
a
validation
of
my
priorities
and
I.
Believe
that
Bell
residents
in
general
are
on
board
with
that.
If
we
take
our
eye
off
the
ball
with
respect
to
Public
Safety,
we
neglect
our
business
communities.
We
will
not
be
able
to
achieve
any
of
the
objectives
any
of
the
goals
that
we
have
for
our
city.
Pragmatic
leadership,
is
what
V
voters
want
and
I
just
really
would
love
your
support
and
I'd.
B
Ask
you
to
please
join
us,
my
my
supporters,
my
my
endorsers
as
as
well
as
me
as
we
secure
bel's
future
together.
Thank
you.
C
Well,
it's
I
I'm,
very
excited
to
where
we're
going
and
I've
been
on
this
trip
for
some
time
and
it
in
we're
going
on
a
Continuum
that
is
increasing
as
we
go
as
we
work.
The
issue
of
of
Public
Safety
is
a
very
important
one
and
I
think
it's
not
particularly
addressed
by
attacking
on
that
and
I
think
it
it's
something
that
is
Paramount,
but
we
have
a
great
police
officer
system.
We
have
a
great
fire
department.
C
We
have
a
great
working
relationship
with
them,
so
I'm
I
just
think
attacking
on.
That
is
not
really
the
facts,
so
I'm
very
strong
for
the
police.
We
work
very
closely
with
them.
Chief,
Shirley
and
I
have
a
very
relationship,
but
let's
get
off
of
that.
What's
really
important
in
going
forward.
Leadership
is
ma
made
by
different
ways.
C
It's
lot
going
out
and
making
speeches
and
all
that,
but
the
most
important
thing
is
working
with
people
and
working
with
organizations
and
I've
worked
with
a
number
of
organization
been
on
East,
founder
of
East
Side
Pathways.
Those
are
the
kind
of
things
that
make
us
really
focus
on
the
city.
How
can
we
get
the
best
we
have
in
it
and
are
a
great
City,
and
we
have
these
issu,
these
U
programs
in
in
place,
and
we
can
move
forward.
C
I'm
I'm,
very
positive,
on
this
I
think
to
concentrate
on
the
negatives
that
are
there,
but
that
we're
dealing
with
I
think
in
a
very
positive
way
is
just
going
off
on
a
tangent.
We
are
going
very,
very
positively
going
forward,
and
it's
because
of
the
city,
council
and
people
in
the
community
have
worked
really
hard
to
see
this
going.
A
A
A
Enough,
okay,
why
is
there
a
plant
on
the
table?
This
is
a
reminder
that
a
city
and
its
downtown
is
a
living
breathing
thing.
We
have
to
take
care
of
it.
We
have
to
nurture
it
and
it'll
continue
to
thrive
all
right,
we're
going
to
continue
with
the
same
format.
What's
it,
oh,
that
makes
sense.
Thank
you.
This
is
an
all-in
effort
for
the
candidates.
A
E
I
would
say
the
same
thing
as
council
member
stok
said
what
not
to
love
about
it,
but
I
I
came
from
Iran
tan.
We
have
a
very
air,
bad
quality
of
air,
so
I
love
the
environment
in
Bev
we
have
a
very,
very
clean
Place.
The
diversity
is
very
important
for
me.
Everyone
accept
me
the
way
I
am
with
my
tick
accent.
Everyone
understand
me.
That's
amazing
and
I
love
the
quality
of
of
life
in
every
aspect.
So
that's
why
I
love
Bev.
D
De
High,
my
friend,
why
love
in
B
for
30
plus
year
I,
don't
know
honestly,
you
know
what
is
mean.
Love
is
very
complicate.
I,
don't
think
so
somebody
can
explain
to
you
why
you
love
B
you
for
30
plus
35
Plus
year,
so
guys
I
only
want
to
explain
to
you
B
you
more
intelligent
intellectual
City.
What
I
have,
except
what
as
I
live
before
in
many
City
big
city
in
Europe
yeah.
So
for
this
reason
I
stay
in
in
belby,
because
I
feel
equal
to
my
soul.
D
A
Thank
you,
Mr
Zimmerman,
All,
Right,
Moving
On
to
the
opening
statement,
we're
doing
a
minute
and
a
half
for
opening
statements
again.
Mckenzie
has
the
yellow
and
red
cards
over
here
so
good
to
keep
your
peripheral
vision
over
there
and
I'll
do
my
best
to
keep
track
too
Mr
Zimmer
Zimmerman
a
minute
and
a
half
opening
statement.
Why
are
you
running
for
city
council.
D
Okay,
good
guy
I,
like
you
know
what
this
mean,
because
you
buildt
a
fascism,
but
it's
number
one
fascist
city
in
America.
You
understand
that
by
talken
Seattle
in
K
countries
is
number
one
fascist
City
in
America
and
I
speak
this
every
week,
10
times
for
last
30,
20
years.
You
know
what
has
mean
more
than
4,000
time
guys
you
understand,
what
is
you?
Did
you
bring
a
fasis
much
much
longer
than
gitler
did
a
Nazi
they
staying
for
12
year,
where
you
build
a
fist
but
is
staying
much
longer.
D
Is
this
situation
done
good
for
everybody?
Is
this
make
everybody
not
happy
right
now?
Look
what
has
happened
around
look.
What
is
you
elect?
Who
you
will
elect
these
people?
Who
you
will
elect
New
Generation?
You
know
what
this
mean:
the
same
work
for
government,
the
same
people.
What
before
and
before
and
before
and
nothing
change
life
go
down
and
down
and
down.
We
have
ton
of
problem
I.
Only
one
man
look,
my
statement.
I
only
want
businessman
what
is
have
exactly
Point.
What
is
need
be
done
all
this.
D
What
is
talking
is
blah
blah
blah
go
my
statement.
This
exactly
what's
happened
or
go
to
my
website.
Alexor
amica.com.
He
he
use,
he
read
salute
salute
to
the
nation.
It's
at
one
on
point,
but
is
our
want?
Make
us
life
better,
and
what
is
we
don't
have
in
B
is
a
freedom
of
speech.
They
cut
a
consel.
What
is
exist
right
now
for
last
10
year,
cut
everything
it's
a
fundamental
principle
of
America
who
exists
for
250
years,
and
you
cut
everything
because
you
elect
these
people.
Remember
this.
E
Thank
you
Patrick,
good
morning,
everyone
thanks
for
being
here.
Hopefully
you
are
enjoying
your
breakfast
BDA,
the
organizer
and
Patrick.
Thank
you
for
making
this
forum
for
us
to
talk
about
ourselves
and
why
we
are
running
and
what
is
important
for
us.
My
name
is
m.
Malakan
I
am
running
for
BV
City
Council
seat
number.
Three
I
have
been
living
in
east
side
for
15
years,
10
years,
plus
in
BW.
E
Seven
years
of
that
I
have
been
serving
on
BW
Planning
Commission
I
have
been
involved
in
many
nonprofits,
since
I
moved
to
Washington
State.
The
latest
one
is
wellis
spring
family
service
that
trying
to
prevent
and
address
family
homelessness.
I
am
an
affiliate
assistant,
professor
at
University
of
Washington
I
teach
future
Engineers
for
the
country
and
the
world
and
I
also
work
for
a
tech
company
named
Amazon
I
do
workforce
planning
for
them
in
developing
on
our
internal
talent
for
a
better
high-
paa
job.
E
Why
I
am
running
for
Bev
city
council
I
have
my
top
priorities.
The
first
one
is
make
bvw
more
affordable,
especially
in
housing.
I
think
people
should
be
able
to
live
and
work
in
the
same
place.
Also
Public,
Safety
and
transportation
are
my
next
two
topics.
Thank
you
for
being
here
again.
A
E
A
great
questions,
I
think
everything
is
start
with
our
businesses,
small
and
large.
We
have
large
businesses
and
they
are
doing
great
I
know
Amazon
has
been
doing
great,
but
the
small
businesses
are
very
important
and
we
need
to
do
everything
in
our
power
to
make
them
be
part
of
this
community.
I
think
we
need
to
keep
the
brand
of
bvw
bvw
is
clean
and
safe,
and
we
need
to
maintain
that,
as
I
mentioned,
affordability
and
in
housing
is
very
important.
E
We
have
many
people
to
provide
services
in
our
city,
but
they
can't
leave
in
here.
If
we
address
that,
we
address
transportation
and
traffic,
we
need
to
have
enough
infrastructure
for
what
we
are
doing
in
BW,
that
start
with
housing,
Transportation
schools
and
our
open
spaces
and
Parks.
That's
how
we
can
continue
to
go
in
the
direction
that
we
are
going.
A
Thank
you
again.
These
are
one
minute
responses.
Thank
you,
McKenzie,
I,
I,
don't
know
if
you've
ever
been
a
moderator
for
something
like
this,
but
I
find
facial
gestures
like
controlling
them.
Very
tough,
so
I
just
ask
for
your
grace
and
understanding.
If
my
face
does
something
all
right,
Mr
Zimmerman,
specifically,
how
would
you
support
a
no
well
we'll
put
it
right
there
positive
direction
in
future
for
downtown.
D
Told
me
I
can
do
in
everything
speak
with
you
about
what
has
happened
right
now
in
C
in
B
Council
chamber,
why
they
Choice
Mr
Mo.
You
know
what
this
mean:
they
move
black
men
out,
who
only
one
times
never
go
for
reelection
in
Choice
him.
Why
and
who
doing
this
this
doing
in
country
consel
balduchi
in
Seattle,
May
Robinson?
Why
is
this
happen?
Why
they
change
take
black
men
out
who
only
one
time
he
replaces
with
Iranian
Muslim.
Can
you
explain
to
me
why
this
happened?
D
Is
this
two
woman
is
a
white
woman
I
think
they
use
him
like
a
toys,
you
know
what
this
mean
against
Trump
and
against
Jew
is
exactly
what's
happened
against
America
and
against
Israel.
This
exactly
what's
happened
this
it's
very
important.
It's
very
unique!
It's
a
part
of
fascism,
but
as
we
have
right
now,
when
Democratic
Mafia
control
everything
you
support
these
people
for
many
years,
you
want
elect
again
exactly
similar
like
before
they
all
work
for
government.
You.
A
D
Yeah
couple
days
ago,
I
have
public
request
from
Police
Department:
what's
happened
with
with
traffic
ticket?
Listen
right
now,
very
careful,
because
I
spoke
about
this
in
Bell
10
year
ago,
five
year
ago,
for
many
time
about
what
has
happened
with
traffic
ticket.
We
have
a
traffic
ticket
10,000
per
year
from
145
to
300
how
much
money
this
bring
to
government
yeah.
Few
million
dollars
not
no
big
deal.
Insurance
life
home
family
reflect.
Yes,
they
doing
this
for
a
long
time,
10,000
listen
right!
Now
they
have
30,000
red
camera
and
I
speak
about
red
camera.
D
A
E
I
am
very
one
of
the
reason
that
bellw
is
as
great
as
it
is,
is
our
park
and
open
space.
We
have
over
100
Parks.
If
you
haven't
visited
all
of
them,
I
highly
recommend
you
go
and
check
on
them
and
what
we
are
doing
so
far
in
the
city
has
been
great.
We
passed
the
park
Levy,
so
we
need
to
start
preserving
our
parks
and
Open
Spaces
I
think
we
are
doing
an
update
on
our
tree.
E
Canopy
is
coming
to
Planning
Commission
and
we
are
going
to
be
more
restrict
about
per
meeting
and
I.
Think
this
stuff
is
our
very
important
because
when
the
growth
is
happened,
when
the
development
is
happened,
is
a
very
important
to
keep
the
balance
between
development
and
keeping
our
park
and
Open
Spaces
make
B
view,
as
the
same
as
it
is
and
maintain
the
quality
of
life
when
the
growth
happens
and
I'm
here
to
keep
that
balance.
That
is
required.
E
When
I
doable
a
lot
in
the
city,
I
think
the
number
two
concerns
of
the
residents
at
their
doors
is
Transportation
and
addressing
traffic
and
I
think
there
is
two
prongs
that
we
need
to
address
when
we
come
to
Transportation.
One
is
how
we
can
reduce
the
amount
of
the
cars
in
the
streets,
and
the
second
is
how
we
can
move
them
more
efficiently
and
I
think
we
need
to
do
those
two
PRS.
E
At
the
same
time,
of
course,
investing
in
public
transportation
make
the
life
Trail
safe
and
clean
and
encourage
people
to
use
them
is
going
to
be
a
big
part.
Make
our
city
walkable
and
bikable,
of
course,
is
important,
but
of
course
we
need
to
invest
in
our
existing
roads.
We
need
to
increase
our
road
capacity
and
improve
that
and
build
more
bridges
and
more
roads.
And,
of
course
we
need
to
improve
our
traffic
flow
and
we
can
be
smart.
There
are
Technologies,
we
can
use
and
we
can
adopt
as
f
as
can.
D
Thank
you
very
much,
so
what
is
will
be
happen
when
30,000
Amazonian
come?
It
will
be
nightmare
right
now,
for
last
couple
year:
rent
Jump
by
40
percentage,
rent,
housing,
jump
too.
You
all
pay
taxes,
we
pay
for
rent
I
rent.
So
there
a
point.
So
what
how
we
can
do
is
how
we
can
change
situation
in
Belleville.
First,
we
need
stop
in
Amazon,
because
corporation,
like
Amazon,
is
my
favorite
Corporation.
You
know
what
this
mean
make
us
life
miserable
30,000.
D
A
D
Guys,
please
stop
and
elect
same
people
this
not
only
fascism.
We
don't
have
a
common
sense
more
for
this
I
support
Trump,
because
we
need
a
common
sense.
We
need
bring
B
you
back
it's
my
statement.
You
know
what
I
mean
make
B
you
greet
again
because
for
last
10
year
everything
nightmare.
They
people
who
you
elect.
They
not
care
about
you,
you
too,
you
people
too.
They
not
care
about
nobody.
What
do
they
care?
Only
about
the
asses.
D
You
know
what
is
mean
reelection
people
staying
for
30
year,
20
year,
10
year
in
Cil
chamber,
why
they
doing
nothing.
Everything
What's
happen
is
blah
blah
blah
and
nothing
change.
I.
Only
one
man
who
make
any
changes
elect
me:
I
guarantee
you
B
will
be
best
like
10
20
to
year
ago.
Thinking
about
this,
not
matter
who
you
are
and
how
much
money
you
have
in
your
pocket,
we
all
in
same
basket:
poor
Rich,
We,
All
American.
Is
they
hate,
America
hate,
American,.
E
Thank
you
so
much
as
I
mentioned
when
our
city
grows
is
crucial
to
maintain
the
quality
and
healthy
life
that
we
have
here
and
I
think
it's
very
important
that
we
have
a
adoptive
Council
that
use
planning
policies
and
partnership
with
you
and
with
the
residents
to
keep
bvw
better
and
improve
it.
I
am
committed
to
make
bvw
a
more
prosperous,
sustainable,
inclusive
and
a
jity
for
all
I
think
I
have
the
skills
the
background,
the
experience
that
can
lead
us
to
there.
Please
visit
my
website.
E
M
forbell
vi.com,
to
see
the
least
of
endorsement
that
I
have
I,
have
the
endorsement
of
Mayor
lean,
Robinson
and
majority
of
council
member
and
I
have
the
endorsement
of
a
lots
of
businesses
Community
the
same
as
labors
and
the
community
leaders
and
also
elected
leaders.
Thank
you
so
much
again
for
the
opportunity.
A
All
right
we're
we're
ready
for
our
next
position,
our
brave
and
courageous
candidates.
Let's
now
begin
with
Mr
Hamilton
Mr
hurt
welcome
to
the
stage
bring
your
water
glass.
If
you
want
water.
A
F
Thank
you
good
morning.
I
can
guarantee
you
that
this
panel
here
is
going
to
be
a
little
less
exciting
than
the
previous
one.
So
I
am
very
bullish
on
Belleview,
I
love
living
here.
I
think
we
have
a
positive
attitude.
That's
really
contagious.
It
really
Builds
on
itself.
It's
a
beautiful
city.
We
take
good
care
of
it.
You
can
tell
that
driving
around
the
city,
I've
lived
in
a
bunch
of
different
neighborhoods
around
the
city,
with
a
lot
of
great
neighbors
I
raise.
F
My
kids
here
really
feel
very
fortunate
that
we've
been
able
to
live
here
and
for
them
to
be
able
to
grow
up
here,
find
it
a
very
peaceful,
City
and
and
love
being
here.
F.
G
G
A
decade
ago,
the
bellw
city
council
made
a
Monumental
blunder
when
they
adored
my
advis
to
disallow
Sound
Transit,
the
10
permits
they
needed
to
Route
Light
Rail
through
our
city.
The
results
been
that
sound
transit
board
has
been
a
decade,
demonstrating
a
failure
to
recognize
what
constitutes
effective
public
transit
public
transit's.
Go
goal
should
be
to
provide
transit
for
those
who
do
not
want
to
drive
and
to
ease
congestion
for
those
that
do
Sound
Transit
approach
to
the
I90
quor
does
nothing
for
either
don't
provide
sufficient
access
to
increase
access
to.
G
Don't
provide
sufficient
access
for
those
wanting
Transit
and
East
in
operation
will
actually
decrease
con
decrease
or
increase
congestion
into
the
city.
They
will
plan
to
spend
33
bli
600,000
on
night
rail
that
will
eventually
be
considered
one
of
the
biggest
transportation
boondoggles
in
history.
That's
only
part
of
Sound
Transit.
A
F
You
good
morning,
I
moved
to
bellw
as
a
kid
around
1970
my
parents
were
looking
for
affordable
housing
and
good
schools.
I
wound
up
starting
my
own
family
here,
starting
a
business
here.
My
business
grew
my
family
thrived,
a
big
reason.
I
want
to
run
for
Council
is
that
I
want
bellw
to
remain
a
place
that
is
safe.
Welcoming
people
can
sink
routs
thrive
in
their
careers
and
start
a
business
and
I
acknowledge
that
that's
not
as
easy
to
do
as
it
was
when
I
got
my
start.
F
Think
that's
going
to
be
an
important
skill
that
I
want
to
bring
to
council
is
the
adapting
and
changing,
and
it's
connecting
people
and
connecting
with
people
and
I've
always
been
an
active
Community
member
I've
been
a
coach
and
a
mentor
I've
served
on
nonprofit
boards,
I've
been
on
the
park
and
Community
Services
board
for
the
last
few
years
chaired
the
parks
Levy
been
very
active
at
the
chamber
on
policy,
Council
and
transportation
committee.
So
I
really
do
want
to
make
sure
that
you
know
we
stick
to
our
plans.
A
F
Well,
I
think
when
we
talk
about
a
thriving
downtown
bellw,
we
need
need
to
talk
to
the
people
who
are
in
that
thriving
downtown
bellw.
So
I
think
it's
important
that
we
stay
in
touch
with
employers
and
workers
and
visitors
and
make
sure
that
they
have
the
things
they
want
to
see
in
the
city
as
well.
Obviously,
we
have
to
keep
it
safe.
If
it's
not
a
safe
place,
you
know
it's
not
a
place
that
we
can
visit
and
it's
not
a
place.
F
That's
welcoming
so
I
think
that
that's
really
important
I
want
to
continue
to
support
building
of
Park
spaces.
That
includes
the
grand
connection
it
includes
Maiden,
Bower
Bay
I
also
want
to
be
sure
that
we
continue
our
Partnerships
with
the
BDA
and
the
Chamber
I
think
those
are
really
important.
We
get
a
lot
of
really
valuable
information
and
good
support.
I
think
the
city
manager's
office
has,
of
course,
done
a
great
job.
There's
a
great
team
there.
F
G
Please
please
use
the
microphone
my
opening
statement,
sure
and
that's
that
the
light
rail
system
is
only
a
part
of
their
PRO.
Sound
Transit
has
in
store
for
East
Side
residents,
many
of
them
more
than
700
posts.
On
my
blog
Stop
East
link
now
have
attracted
230,000
page
views
and
I'd
like
to
be
able
to
discuss
those.
Many
of
those
issues
later
in
this
program.
A
G
I
have
a
suspicion
Mr
one
minute.
My
issue
is
Public
transort
public
transportation.
For
years,
public
transportation
was
a
number
one
issue
in
Belleview.
It
was
ranked
four
times
anything
of
the
others
all
right,
and
my
issue
is
to
what
the
problems
are.
For
instance,
B
residents
can
expect
to
pay
something
like
AIT
buy
a
car
in
Seattle
you're,
going
to
pay
$500
in
$700
on
a
on
a
car
you
buy
to
Sound
Transit
your
car
tab
pays
and
I've
got
a
2016
Subaru
that
I
have
to
pay
$175
for
C
tab
taxes.
G
A
Mr
Hamilton,
the
top.
Please
hold
your
applause.
The
topic
is
Public
Safety.
How
will
you
show
leadership
on
the
issue?
Are
we
headed
in
the
right
direction,
wrong
direction
or
any
topic
You'
like
to
speak
on
one
minute.
F
I
would
say
we
are
mostly
heading
in
the
right
Direction
there's
a
unanimity
of
opinion
that
our
we
hold
our
Public
Safety
Personnel
in
high
esteem,
that
is
for
sure,
I
appreciate.
Having
earned
the
endorsement
of
the
bellie
police
officers
Guild
and
bellie
firefighters,
we
have
very
dedicated
police
officers
and
firefighters.
We
have
great
leadership.
We
have
funded
the
ccat
program,
I
think
that's
going
to
be
really
informative
for
us
something
we
can
build
on.
F
The
chief
has
police
advisory
councils
that
brings
in
community
members
to
provide
really
important
feedback.
We
funded
the
new
Transit
unit,
I
think
that's
going
to
not
only
help
Riders
of
Transit,
but
it
helps
employees
of
Transit
as
well,
so
that
we're
providing
a
safe
work
environment
for
them.
I'm
glad
that
we
have
a
new
contract
in
place
with
our
police
officers.
They
get
a
long
overdue,
raise
and
and
increased
benefits.
I
want
to
make
sure
that
we
fill
those
positions
that
were
funded.
21.
F
New
positions,
funded
and
I
want
to
make
sure
that
we
keep
them
filled
and
then
our
firefighters
time
are.
A
Great
too,
thank
you
so
a
note
for
this
morning.
We
are
running
up
against
our
time,
but
I
promise
the
candidates
equal
time
as
much
as
possible,
so
I'm
going
to
ask
for
your
patience
and
if
you
do
need
to
exit
at
one
point,
please
try
to
do
so
quietly,
but
I'm
going
to
do
my
best
to
provide
equal
time
to
all
candidates
to
provide
responses.
Thank
you.
Okay,
Mr
Hamilton
choose
a
card.
Any
card
could
see
through
it,
okay,
transportation
of
Mobility.
Again
we're
going
to
talk
about
this
issue.
F
Okay,
thank
you
well
transportation,
of
course,
I've
spent
35
years
in
the
transportation
field.
Much
of
that
is
really
focused
on
ringing
out
as
much
capacity
as
we
can
and
being
as
efficient
as
possible
spent
a
lot
of
time
driving
soccer
car
pools
moving
around
the
city.
I
think
we
all
can
relate
to
the
fact
that
that's
not
as
easy
at
all
to
do
anymore.
I
think
it's
something
we
need
to
work
on.
F
I
think
the
city's
done
a
good
job,
deploying
technology
to
help
us
move
people
and
move
packages
and
so
forth
around
the
city.
I
think
that's
helpful.
We
want
to
continue
to
do
that.
We
need
to
continue
to
maintain
what
we
build.
That's
really
important,
it's
a
big
investment
up
front,
but
it
needs
to
be
maintained
as
we
go
forward.
F
I
think
the
city's
done
a
good
job
with
the
some
additional
funding
sources
of
Federal
Loan
I've
spent
a
lot
of
time
in
Olympia
working
on
legislation
over
the
last
five
years.
I
look
forward
to
bringing
that
experience
forward
and
supporting
the
city
and
its
efforts
to
gain
funding
in
Olympia
and
elsewhere.
G
Yes,
my
Transportation
issue
is
the
the
town
transit
is
about
to
embark
on
a
starter
line.
East
link
starter
line
between
RTC
in
South
BW
parking
ride.
G
Now
this
is
this
line
will
bypass
several
replac
bus
routes
with
onethird
of
the
access
they
there's
limited
stops
along
the
way,
so
people
in
bellw
won't
have
access
to
This
Light
to
this
Transportation
at
all
that
at
the
noise
levels
from
the
town,
transits
town
transit
is
decided
that
their
CEO
will
decide
what's
acceptable
for
noise
levels
for
Seattle
for
Belleview
residents,
the
real
result
will
be
an
environmental
nightmare
for
those
living
along
the
road.
A
G
I
want
to
thank
you
thank
the
BDA
for
giving
me
the
opportunity
to
speak
this
morning.
The
bottom
line
being
four
car
light
reel
trains,
don't
have
the
capacity
to
reduce
peak
hour,
multi-lane,
freeway
congestion
and
cost
too
much
to
operate
off
peak.
Your
children's
children
will
pay
a
heavy
price
if
Sound
Transit
is
allowed
to
continue
Contin.
You
thank
you.
Thank
you.
F
Thank
you,
I
think
we
have
a
lot
of
really
important
issues
that
the
city
is
facing.
We
don't
get
to
choose
the
issues
that
we
face.
F
So
a
big
part
of
the
work
that
needs
to
be
done
on
Council
is
to
take
a
reasoned
approach
with
the
issues
that
come
before
us
really
appreciate
the
BDA
organizing
this
event,
it's
clearly
very
popular,
the
chambers
event
was
very
popular
I,
find
that
very
encouraging
that
so
many
of
you
are
engaged
I
look
forward
to
joining
the
team
with
all
of
you
in
January,
with
their
tremendous
City
staff,
BDA
chamber,
members
and
leaders
and
all
the
community
organizations
and
neighborhoods
that
support
our
city,
I'm
honored
to
have
earned
the
endorsements
of
from
across
the
political
spectrum
of
most
all
of
our
current
city
council
members,
both
King
County
council
members,
representing
bellw,
every
Senator
and
representative
that
represents
Belleview,
a
numer,
ous
organizations
and
others.
F
I
will
really
work
to
have
a
collaborative,
hardworking
approach.
I
think
our
council
is
really
set
up
for
that.
I'm
really
encouraged
appreciate
you
being
here
and
appreciate
your
support.
A
H
I
love
living
in
bellev,
because
I
have
lived
here.
My
entire
life,
my
parents,
Frank
and
Mariana
Powers
built
their
house
in
Karne
circle
before
they
adopted
my
brother
Joe
and
had
the
rest
of
us
five
kids.
They
showed
us
how
to
be
public
servants
and
we
enjoyed
everything
that
bellevie
had
to
offer.
I
am
learning
as
I
get
to
know
a
longtime
Belleview
businesses
and
now
I
raised
my
family
up
next
to
Belleview
college.
So
I
got
to
know
both
sides
of
Belleview
I
love
living
in
bellw.
I
You
know
bellw
has
my
heart,
because
I
brought
up
my
family
here
after
living
here
for
30
years,
we
went
to
padel
Soul
an
international
school,
which
meant
that
we
got
to
explore
all
around
the
city
with
family
and
friends
that
we
met
along
the
way.
I
love
the
fact
that
we
can
walk
down
our
Hill
and
and
go
to
the
CLE,
Creek,
Trail
and
parks
and
local
shops.
Thank
you.
A
I
Yes,
thank
you
BDA
for
the
opportunity
to
share
about
myself
my
work
representing
the
voices
of
neighbors
and
businesses
on
the
council
and
our
shared
vision
for
bellw
and
our
amazing
downtown
as
a
six-year
Belleview
council,
member
and
longtime
Port
of
Seattle
staffer.
Now,
chief
engineer,
I
know
we
best
deliver
when
in
Partnership
and
collaboration
with
the
business
business
Community
together,
we
have
and
will
continue
to
tackle
challenges
in
an
effective,
fiscally
responsible
and
results.
Oriented
way.
I've
done
that
here
and
at
the
Port
as
a
30-year
resident
with
private
and
public
sector
experience.
I
I
know
high-
performing
government
matters
for
economic
development,
tourism
and
vibrant
placemaking.
I
voted
for
priorities
and
budgets
to
improve
Public
Safety,
address
homelessness,
affordable
housing,
Transportation
safety
and
mobility
and
more
parks
and
Open.
Spaces
businesses
choose
bellw
we're
a
great
place
for
business
and
they
rely
on
steady
leadership
to
thrive.
As
a
bridge
builder
I
appreciate
our
joint
efforts
to
propel
Bev's
success,
attracting
new
businesses
supporting
local
startups
and
large
firms
and
with
grand

visit,

were
a

Reelect
me
for

proven
leadership,
local
and
re
Regional.
I
H
Opening
statement-
thank
you
Patrick
and
the
BDA
board
for
sponsoring
this
conversation,
I
I'm
running
to
make
Belleview
a
great
City
even
better.
It
needs
to
be
better
for
business
better
for
employees,
employes
better
for
visitors,
better
for
residents
and
better
for
children.
I
had
the
opportunity
to
grow
up
in
bellev
to
see
all
of
the
development
to
experience
it
now,
I
see
that
tens
of
thousands
of
other
people
can
experience
the
same
Belleview
that
I
grew
up
in
my
I
raised
my
family
up
at
right.
H
Next
to
BBY,
College
I
was
elected
to
the
east
bie
Community
Council
in
2014
I
have
experience,
voting
on
and
studying
on
issues
throughout
the
city
and
including
Transportation,
affordable,
housing
and
and
homelessness.
I
will
bring
my
nonpartisan
approach
to
bellev
city
council
I,
do
not
caught
into
any
partisan
ideology.
I
am
a
consensus
building
and
public
servant,
and
in
my
campaign
it's
proven.
I
have
this
great
neighborhood
connection,
I've
doorbell,
7,000
homes,
people
all
over
the
city.
Tell
me
they
love
living
here.
They
support
and
depend
on
the
police.
H
They
are
concerned
about
crime
coming
from
other
cities
and
in
their
neighborhood.
The
Belleview
police
officer
Guild
has
recognized
that
I
support
them
and
they
support
me.
I
have
100%
commitment
from
the
Belleview
Belleview
Police
Department.
Thank
you.
A
Thank
you,
downtown
bellw
is
a
living.
Breathing
Community
in
neighborhood
were
reminded
Miss
Hummer.
Specifically,
how
will
you
support
a
positive
direction
for
a
thriving
downtown
one
minute.
H
Supporting
a
positive
direction
for
a
thriving
downtown
really
means
supporting
the
basic
businesses
that
support
the
downtown
and
making
sure
that
they
feel
safe
going
forward.
I
visited
Omega
photo.
They
are
still
reing
from
the
riots
in
2020.
They
they
depend
on.
They
lost
innumerable
valuable
Irreplaceable
cameras.
They
they
are
a
fa.
They
are
an
important
fabric
of
our
of
our
society.
I
will
support
the
the
small
businesses,
as
well
as
the
large
businesses,
the
development
increasing
the
amount
of
residential
space
and
also
going
to
all
of
the
events
that
are
sponsored
downtown.
H
That
really
show
us
what
a
thriving
V
vital
downtown
can
be.
As
I
say,
it
was
it's
a
great
change
from
seeing
McDonald's
and
Firestone
Tire
on
Bell
way
to
see
the
new
park
and
the
Beautiful
buildings
and
all
of
the
people
from
all
over
the
world
that
are
en
enjoying
the
bellie
in
which
I
grew
up.
Thank
you.
I
I
think
we
already
are
moving
in
the
right
direction
in
terms
of
the
partnership
we
have
with
BDA
and
the
chamber
in
terms
of
how
we
work
together
and
specifically
when
we
think
about
downtown.
We
have
to
recognize
that
it
is
a
place
where
we
live
work
and
play
play.
It
is
not
a
downtown
anymore.
That's
only
about
businesses
and
so
businesses
Thrive
when
we
actually
have
a
downtown
where
neighbors
are
enjoying
living
downtown,
they
can
get
around.
They
have
amazing
shops
and
places
to
visit
and
our
downtown
park.
I
So
we
need
to
make
those
Investments
doubling
down
on
the
grand
connection
and
activating
the
spaces
will
be
important,
making
sure
that
we
voted
for
the
tourism
promotion
area
that
brought
us
Bell
hop
how
many
people
have
used
the
Bell
hop
right.
So
that's
how
we
continue
to
activate
those
spaces.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we
just
have
our
first
5G
small
cell
in
downtown
that
will
make
it
easier
for
tourists
to
come
and
enjoy
the
spaces.
Thank
you.
A
I
Housing
is
one
that
is
very
complicated
because
there's
lots
of
reasons
why
we
are
in
a
place
where
housing
is
very
expensive.
We
don't
have
enough
housing,
both
Total
housing
as
well
as
affordable
housing.
We
have
been
working
really
hard
since
2017
before
I
got
on
Council
to
have
an
affordable
housing
strategy.
We
have
a
next
right
work
and
it's
looking
at
all
pieces
associated
with
housing.
I
What
that
means
is
working
together
with
developers
to
understand
where
their
pain
points
are
looking
at
our
land
use
code
to
enable
more
housing
to
be
built,
recognizing
that
we
need
35,000,
more
housing
in
the
next
20
years
means
that
we
need
to
look
at
micro,
housing,
mother-in-law,
Apartments
backyard,
Cottages
rc1,
where
we're
activating
and
being
able
to
work
with
the
faith
community
for
more
affordable
housing
as
well,
and
then
advocating
at
the
federal
and
state
level
for
more
housing
investment
dollars.
Thank
you.
H
Housing
we
with
35,000
minimum
housing
units
required
in
the
next
few
decades.
We
need
to
make
sure
that
barriers
to
housing
building
are
reduced
while
assuring
the
quality
of
building
is
not
adversely
affected.
I
grew
up
and
had
my
career
in
the
lumber
business
housing
is
crucial
to
an
innumerable
small
businesses,
just
not
just
developers
and
homeowners.
H
Many
residents
I
have
doorbell
are
concerned
about
housing,
affordability
for
younger
people,
the
city
and
private
Partnerships
need
to
collaborate
on
Solutions
such
as
expanding
the
mfte,
the
multif
family
tax
exemption
allowing
existing,
affordable
housing
units
to
participate
in
an
incentive
program.
Affordable
housing
needs
to
be
equitably,
dispersed
throughout
the
city
to
avoid
any
redlining
or
discriminatory
practices.
I
look
forward
to
increased
density
in
neighborhoods,
but
it
needs
to
have
robust
neighborhood
input
in
the
land
use
code
to
make
it
work
for
everyone.
H
Parks
in
Open,
Spaces
I
live
right
next
to
Robinswood
Park
I
am
surrounded
by
Belleview
College
I
live
right
on
148,
which
is
the
basis
for
Belleview
a
city
in
the
park.
H
I
love
our
Parks
I
am
excited
about
the
Improvement
to
Airfield,
Park
I
think
it'll
really
be
a
benefit
to
the
city,
as
we've
seen
with
save
Cole
Creek
I
believe
that
the
city
needs
to
do
an
inventory
and
audit
of
Open
Spaces
that
are
in
the
city
that
we
can
retain
as
future
Parklands
similar
to
what
was
done
with
the
downtown
park.
H
We
need
that
that
Visionary
application
to
make
sure
we
we
have
enough
enough
Parks,
especially
around
all
the
the
new
apartments
that
are
supposed
to
go
in,
and
the
densification
of
neighborhoods
neighborhoods
are
home
to
a
lot
of
different
Parks,
but
I
noticed
there
aren't
too
many
parks
in
wilberton.
Thank
you.
I
We
all
love
our
parks
in
open
space
and
one
of
the
commitments
the
city
council
made
is
that
we
want
a
parks
and
open
space
within
walking
distance
of
wherever
people
live.
That's
an
important
piece
when
we
talk
about
equity
and
making
sure
that
we
are
making
those
key
Investments
we're
looking
at
our
East
Rail
and
the
fact
that
we
need
to
be
activating
those
spaces
so
that
people
can
have
alternative
ways
to
get
around
the
city.
I
We've
made
key
Investments
with
our
parks
and
open
space
plan
to
update
that
plan
and
make
sure
that
we
are
very
conscious
of
the
kind
of
Investments
we
need
to
make.
We
advocated
for
and
updated
our
parts
in
open
space
Levy
that,
thankfully,
our
voters
supported
that
will
allow
us
to
invest
even
more.
We
spent
a
million
dollars
to
gain
16
acres
in
Newport
Hills.
That's
going
to
be
an
amazing
park
space
right
next
to
our
new
woodlon
park.
We
know
that
we
have
a
lot
more
to
do
to
activate
our
spaces
for
Parks.
A
H
I
have
doorbell
over
7,000
homes,
people
all
over
the
city.
Tell
me
they
love
living
here
and
they
support
our
police.
Our
Belleview
police
officers
recognize
my
support
of
them
and
I
have
earned
the
endorsement
of
the
Belleview
police
officers
skilled
I.
They
know
I
support
them
now
and
we'll
support
them
100%
on
City
Council.
H
They
know
where
my
opponent
stands
after
her
six
years
on
city
council
and
they
have
not
endorsed
her.
I
have
also
end
earned
endorsement
of
Deputy
Mayor
Jared
newenhouse,
council
member
Conrad
Lee
and
who
has
seen
more
Council
candidates
than
anyone
they
know.
I
am
nonpartisan
that
I
will
work
toward
consensus,
that
I
am
Guided
by
facts
and
evidence,
not
partisan
ideology,
I
Am
pro
Belleview,
just
like
all
of
you.
H
I
I
I
represent
us
at
the
regional
state
and
National
levels,
bringing
dollars
to
bvw
and
will
continue
to
build
relationships,
connections
and
access
to
Advocate,
even
more
for
our
interest
in
biew
I'm
honored
to
have
earned
the
trust
of
so
many
here
and
from
our
Belleview
firefighters,
Realtors,
Master,
Builders
associated
general
contractors,
all
Congress
members
and
state
legislators
representing
Belleview
mayor
Robinson,
council,
member
barkdale,
executive,
Constantine,
council,
member
balduchi
and
many
more.
The
choice
is
clear.
I
A
Thank
you.
Thank
you
to
the
candidates
sit
sit
tight.
Thank
you,
everyone
for
being
here,
just
aind
Remer
for
next
month's
program.
We
will
be
in
this
room
on
October
24th,
for
an
update
and
presentation
about
the
grand
connection
project,
a
lot
to
update
and
share
about
the
progress
of
this
major
infrastructure
initiative
in
the
city
of
Belleview.
I
want
to
thank
everyone
here
for
your
patience
for
your
participation
and
for
making
this
community
the
great
place.
It
is
we'll
see
you
next
time.
Thank
you.
