Hello
and
welcome
to
a
holiday
edition
of
Lake
to
Lake
I'm,
your
host
Robin
Steele
today
we're
coming
to
you
from
downtown
Bellevue
and
we're
celebrating
the
spectacular
Bellevue
magic
season
with
a
special
look
behind
the
scenes.
First,
Patrick
Bannon
of
the
Bellevue
downtown
Association
gives
us
a
brief
overview
of
this
beloved
holiday
tradition.
B
Bellevue
shines
brightest
during
the
holiday
season
and
the
Bellevue
magic
season
brings
together
some
of
the
best
parts
of
Bellevue.
The
Bellevue
magic
season
is
Bellevue's
festive
collection
of
holiday
events,
most
of
which
are
taking
place
right
here
in
the
downtown
area.
The
Bellevue
magic
season
includes
snowflake
lane
the
Bellevue
downtown
ice
rink,
the
garden
delights
the
Bellevue
Botanical,
Garden
and
holiday
performances
at
Maiden,
Bower,
Center,
Theater,
snowflake
Lane
is
a
magical
nightly
show
presented
by
the
Bellevue
collection,
which
means
it
is
all
along
Bellevue
way
between
Northeast,
8th
and
northeast.
B
For
each
night,
7
p.m.
all
you
have
to
do
is
come
on
down,
find
your
spot
on
the
sidewalk,
and
you
will
experience
one
of
North,
America's,
great
holiday
events.
It's
a
20-minute
show
that
involves
nightly
snow,
falling
characters
and
a
parade.
It's
a
great
memory
and
we
encourage
you
to
bring
the
whole
family
down
to
experiencing
the
Bellevue
downtown
ice.
Rink
is
located
in
the
Bellevue
downtown
park
presented
by
Alaska
mileage
plan
and
the
ice
rink
itself
has
been
a
long-held
tradition
of
the
Bellevue
Magic
season.
B
It
presents
the
region's
largest
most
fantastic
outdoor
skating
experience
throughout
the
holiday
season,
the
set
right
in
the
heart
of
beautiful
Bellevue,
downtown
Park
and
so
from
the
rink.
You
get
splendid
views
of
the
downtown
skyline
the
rest
of
the
park,
and
it
is
open-air
but
covered
for
all-weather,
skating
garden.
Delights
is,
unlike
anything
else,
you've
seen.
It
is
a
magical
Wonderland
of
Lights
set
in
the
Bellevue
Botanical
Garden.
There's
elevation
change,
there
are
fun
surprises
around
each
corner.
Garden
delights
is
literally
aglow
with
more
than
a
half
million
twinkling
lights.
B
Another
fantastic
tradition
of
the
Bellevue
magic
season
are
the
holiday
performances
at
Maiden,
Bower
Center
Theater
this
year.
You'll
have
the
opportunity
to
experience
two
productions
of
the
Nutcracker.
The
Sammamish
symphony
orchestra
will
be
performing
Christmas
and
Bellevue
and
magical
strings
will
return
with
the
Celtic
Yuletide.
B
The
Bellevue
magic
season
is
a
true
collaboration
of
businesses,
community
organizations,
the
City
of
Bellevue,
who
are
focused
on
having
a
great
time,
creating
memories
and
building
traditions
throughout
the
holiday
season.
For
more
information
about
the
Bellevue
magic
season,
you

you

Lane,

maiden.
Bower
calm,.
A
D
We
were
rehearsing
the
jingle
bell
dancers
as
they
go
through
their
entire
routine.
Well,
I
helped
the
magic
happen
by
costuming
all
the
performers
that
do
snowflake
Lane.
So
how
does
that
feel?
I'm,
costuming,
290
performers
from
drummers
to
dancers,
mask
characters
on
mask
characters,
princesses
and
the
color
guard
that
we
added
last
year.
E
E
C
Turn
the
bell,
through
Botanical
Garden,
into
a
winter
wonderland
with
over
500,000
lights,
there's
a
core
group
of
30
volunteers
and
they
begin
work
in
March
actually
and
they
meet
every
week
all
year
long
and
then
all
of
the
lights
are
installed
and
we
start
recruiting
volunteers
to
help
with
greeters
and
event,
support
and
cashiers
and
all
the
other
things
that
are
needed
to
make
this
a
success.
So
that's
about
another
hundred
volunteers
and
they
spend
about
nine
thousand
hours
throughout
the
year,
preparing
for
garden
delights
and
they
do
it
because
they
love
it
and.
B
Bellevue
downtown
ice
rink
has
been
a
long-held
tradition
of
the
Bellevue
magic
season
about
three
weeks
before
Thanksgiving
the
pond
is
drained
and
then
work
begins
in
constructing
the
platform
for
the
Ice
Arena.
We
can't
rely
on
below
freezing
temperatures
to
keep
the
ice
frozen,
and
so
we
have
a
chiller
that
is
loaded
into
the
park
and
sits
next
to
the
Ice
Arena
and
it's
the
chiller
that
makes
the
ice
after
the
chiller
is
in
place.
Then
construction
starts
on
the
surface
for
the
ice
itself.
D
I
asked
the
other
day
in
a
meeting
who
here
is
here
because
of
what
touched
them
when
they
were
a
child.
I
would
say
about
half
of
them,
put
up
their
hand
and
said
that
they
were
here,
and
they
just
were
just
in
awe
of
everything
they
saw
when
they
were
little
and
they
knew
that
they
wanted
to
be
a
part
of
it
when
they
were
old
enough.
I
used.
F
D
D
G
Been
here
since,
like
since
I
was
aged,
ten
and
I
know
what
it's
like
to
see
a
child
and
have
their
face
explode
with
excitement
just
because
of
the
snow
and
just
giving
them
a
little
Molly
popping
candy
cane
lollipop
or
anything
I
high-five,
whatever.
That
is
it's
just
a
magical,
wonderful
way
to
celebrate
the
holidays.
