Hello and welcome to late to late a show about our beautiful city of Bellevue, I'm Robin Steele this month. We feature the start of a new Waterfront Park project, great golf courses in Bellevue, an important message brought to you by a Bellevue high school students and bicycle safety tips.

We start with and look at an amazing new project, the start of reconstruction at Maidan, Bauer, Bay Park. As you'll see, this project has been a work in progress for decades.

What it's going to mean is we'll have access to the water to Lake Washington, it's just going to add a whole new dimension to the Bellevue experience. One.

Of the things I really like about this Park is how it ties Bellevue's past, into its present and onto its future, we're here in a whaling building.

A lot of people didn't know that the whaling fleet came in here to get repairs, but then it leads off into a very beautiful city into a great neighborhood in downtown Bellevue, and this will be the western terminus of what we call the Grand connection that ability to connect our waterfront all the way through downtown Bellevue across the freeway through will Burton and out to the east side rail corridor. This going to be a huge gift to the community, it doesn't matter where you live or work you'll, be able to walk down to the park and have a waterfront experience. Well,.

I think that what I'm excited about is seeing the whole waterfront open up for people to use in the past. If you drove down Lake Washington Boulevard, you literally couldn't even see the lake now you'll be able to not just see it but you'll be able to come down and enjoy the water. I believe.

That this is certified the Bellevue Spirit. You know we value our city's natural resources. That's why we were called a city in a park, so it's important that we have everybody who can enjoy the waterfront access to it, so I'm very proud of what we have done so.

I think one of the things that the community should be aware of and really very proud of, is that over many years as these visions have been developed, success of City, Council's and community leaders and really the whole community have continued to support these visions so that they can become real for us today. Just saw how nice the bellevue golf course is on one 40th Avenue Northeast. Now we head to the par three course at Crossroads, with a look at a new take on golf. That's worth kicking around.

Foot Golf is a brand new sports. It's a version of golf played with a soccer ball. There's no golf club to take out in your bag. There's no putters drivers wedges, you have a ball on the ground and then you just put the ball down. You kick it. You go to the ball, you take it again.

The crossroads. Par-3 is a nine hole golf course. So we have nine nine foot golf holes and they parallel the golf course. It really is golf. I I played here years of golf repetitive, golf and I'm playing the same thing, two different format, so that just makes it a lot of fun. Has like both aspects of soccer and golf, so it's pretty fun since my first experience playing football and I had a lot of fun and it's just a lot more challenging. I thought it would be especially playing on golf terrain, but overall how to.

Here are some important tips for bicyclists obey traffic signals and find make eye contact and use hand signals for your turns and lane changes always ride with traffic and ride single file when cars are present on your bike, use a white light in front and a red reflector on back, wear, bright, reflected, clothing and a bicycle helmet here are some safety tips for drivers when passing a bicyclist, give at least three feet of passing space between your vehicle and the bicyclist.

After passing, a cyclist to your right stand over your shoulder before you merge back in look twice for bikes, it's easy to underestimate a cyclist speed, so always use extreme caution when passing or turning remember that bikes belong and may legally use as much of the lane as they need to for safety drivers and cyclists.
