A
Hello
and
welcome
to
Lake
to
Lake
a
show
about
our
beautiful
city
of
Bellevue
I'm,
your
host
Robin
Steele
on
today's
show
we're
featuring
highlights
from
this
year's
State
of
the
City
address
a
preview
of
a
new
bike
lane
project
and
look
at
how
you
can
help
shape
land
use
regulations
for
shelters
in
Bellevue
and
some
fun
summer
day.
Camps
we're
coming
to
you
today
from
Kelsey
Creek,
Farm
Park,
where
signs
of
spring
are
everywhere,
including
these
adorable
baby,
goats.
A
B
You
look
at
the
entire
vision.
You
will
see
that
it's
about
choice,
that
we
want
the
residents
and
the
businesses
of
Bellevue
to
always
have
enough
choices
so
that
they
can
grow
exactly
the
way
that
they
want
to
grow.
Great
places
in
Bellevue
have
always
meant
great
parks.
That's
why
we
are
a
city
in
a
park
and
the
next
great
one
is
the
expansion
of
Maiden
Bower,
Bay
Park,
and
that
is
underway
right
now,
Maiden
Bower,
Bay
Park
and
its
expansion
was
a
vision
that
was
launched
more
than
30
years
ago.
B
It's
one
of
those
that
people
say
you
just
can't
get
it
done.
Well
we're
getting
it
done.
It
takes
a
long
time
and
the
lesson
is
and
I
think
this
is
the
lesson
about
Bellevue
think
big,
think
long-term
stay
with
it
and
get
it
done.
We
also
need
to
make
sure
that
Bellevue
is
a
place
where
you
can
get
you
can
be
born
here.
You
can
get
a
great
education
here.
You
can
get
your
first
job
here,
your
first
apartment
and
your
first
house.
C
We
have
a
very
strong
and
thoughtful
council
right
now.
We
have
people
that
represent
the
tech,
industry,
engineering,
business,
legal
and
healthcare
all
working
together
to
make
good
decisions
for
the
city.
We
have
an
excellent
city
manager
and
staff
and
I'm
really
confident
that
we're
going
to
be
able
to
achieve
the
goals
that
we've
set
out
for
us.
D
I'm
Chris
Iverson,
with
a
quick
update
on
a
new
project
later
this
spring
city
will
be
installing
its
first
bike
way
through
the
entirety
of
downtown
it'll,
be
here
on
108
new
and
it'll
go
from
Main
Street,
all
the
way
up
to
North
East
12th
Street,
new
separated
in
stripe.
Bike
lanes
will
be
installed
here,
along
with
green
paint,
flex
posts,
temporary
curbs
and
planter
boxes
that
will
improve
the
cycling
experience.
Some
shared
lane
markings
are
sharrows
will
be
added
through
a
couple
tight
spots
because
it's
the
first
of
its
kind
in
Bellevue.
D
This
bike
way
is
being
installed
as
a
demonstration
project.
That
means
we'll
be
closely
monitoring
the
street
after
installation
and
we
might
make
quick
adjustments
to
the
layout
as
time
goes
on.
In
addition,
other
recent
and
upcoming
projects
will
help
connect
bikers
from
the
trails
along
Interstate,
90
and
highway
520
to
downtown
find
out
more
about
the
bike
way
on
our
project
website
and
we
hope
to
see
you
on
108th
Avenue
this
summer.
E
Tonight's
event
is
part
of
an
ongoing
conversation.
We've
been
engaged
in
with
the
community
around
homelessness
and
homelessness
on
the
east
side
for
the
past
couple
years.
This
is
a
challenge
that
our
community
faces
and
the
council
has
now
taken
the
opportunity
to
talk
about
what
are
the
land
use
code
regulations
that
are
needed
to
allow
a
homeless
shelter
facility
to
operate
successfully
in
the
City
of
Bellevue.
The.
F
Bellevue
land
use
code
guides
development
in
Bellevue,
so
it
ensures
that
Bellevue's
development
reflects
the
values
of
its
community,
so
the
council's
goals
are
to
develop
a
land
use
code
amendment
before
the
August
recess,
they've
directed
staff
to
bring
back
an
update
that
affects
the
sections
of
the
that
would
address
shelter.
Uses
staff
is
working
very
hard
to
listen
to
the
public
to
develop
a
land
use
code.
Amendment
for
council
consideration.
It's.
E
Important
for
people
to
stay
engaged
in
the
process,
because
the
council's
goal
is
really
to
find
a
set
of
regulations
that
will
allow
a
shelter
to
operate
successfully
in
the
community
and
we
need
the
community
to
help
us
define
what
that
success
looks
like.
We
need
to
hear
from
people
what
their
concerns
are,
and
we
need
to
be
able
to
explain
what
tools
we
have
through
the
land
use
code
that
can
help
meet
those
concerns.
E
Tonight's
event
was
really
geared
towards
educating
the
public,
so
we
had
a
number
of
stations
and
boards
where
people
could
learn
about
feedback.
We'd
received
research.
We
have
done
how
that
research
was
folded
into
the
draft
land
use
code
amendment.
It
was
also
geared
to
provide
opportunities
for
people
to
give
us
additional
feedback
around
specific
topics
that
we
expect
to
address
in
the
land
use
code.
And
finally,
we
had
one
of
our
general
education
opportunities
about
a
survey
that
we
performed
and
what
we
learned
from
the
survey.
What.
F
Are
the
important
ingredients
for
a
shelter
to
be
successful
in
this
city?
You
know
we
we've
heard
that
good
neighbor
agreements
are
something
that
we
need.
We've
heard
that
codes
of
conduct
are
important
to
people.
We've
heard
that
there
are
in
reviewing
other
shelters
elsewhere.
There
are
best
practices
about
separating
elevators
in
a
shelter
from
an
elevator
in
supportive
housing
that
maybe
occupy
the
same
building,
so
we'll
be
taking
all
of
that
information
and
drafting
a
code
that
reflects
the
feedback
that
we've
heard
and
the
research
we've
done.
We.
E
Really
see
this
as
a
two-way
conversation
and
education
opportunity
so
number
one.
What
we
want
people
to
get
out
of
this
workshop
is
an
understanding
of
how
we've
taken
the
feedback
we've
heard
already
and
incorporated
that
into
the
regulations.
So
we
want
people
to
know,
we
have
heard
them
and
what
we've
done
with
that
already
so
that
from
there
people
know
how
to
engage
with
the
council
on
the
next
step
of
the
process.
The.
F
E
Can
stay
engaged
in
the
process
through
a
number
of
mechanisms
we
have
on
our
website
all
of
this
information.
There's
a
web
page
around
homelessness
and
that
under
that
page,
you
can
find
information
about
the
land
use
code,
amendment
process,
there's
staff
contact
information.
We
are
always
available
to
answer.
