Hello,
everybody
and
welcome
to
our
12
annual
picnic
in
the
park
a
beautiful
day.
We
have
such
a
nice
day
for
this
technic.
We
have
a
short
speaking
program
today
and
we've
already
started
serving
lunch,
which
is
so
yummy
I
love
the
band.
So
big
round
of
applause
for
the
band
I
wanted
to
tell
you
I
before
I
invite
up
on
my
very
favorite
boss.
I
wanted
to
tell
you
one
thing
that
we're
doing
at
the
elderly
commission
that
is
new
this
year,
and
that
is
a
series
called
Boston
aging
strong.
B
So
this
is
this
is
dedicated
to
providing
new
opportunities
for
engagement
and
activity.
So
we've
done
a
number
of
different
series
of
programs.
Under
this
we
launched
a
partnership
with
neighborhoods
historic
societies
and
are
holding
special
walks
geared
for
seniors
in
every
neighborhood,
and
so
the
walk
is
about
a
mile
and
it's
filled
with
amazing
history,
because
we
know
that
each
neighborhood
has
their
own
unique
history
and-
and
we
want
to
be
able
to
make
sure
that
everybody
knows
what
that
history
is.
B
We
also
launched
something
called
a
memory
cafe
in
partnership
with
growth,
Hall
Senior
Center,
and
this
is
a
space
for
people
with
dementia
and
their
care
partners,
so
they
can
come
together
and
learn
and
share
and
participate
in
activities.
And
finally,
we
launched
an
aging
mastery
programmer.
Am
this
is
a
multi-week
program
with
topics
like
nutrition,
financial
planning
and
sleep
so
that
people
can
be
prepared
as
they
age?
And
then
we
launched
an
exercise
program
on
bnn,
so
this
hasn't
started
yet.
B
But
if
you
all
watch
v
NN
we're
going
to
six
exercise
programs
on
there,
so
you
can
exercise
right
in
your
house,
they're
fun
things
like
yoga
and
Zumba
and
we'll
play
six
and
then
we'll
repeat
the
six.
So
I
think
you'll
like
that
when
it
runs
on
I'm
DNA
and
we're
going
to
make
Boston
aging
strong,
even
bigger
in
the
coming
years.
I
really
want
to
thank
my
team
and
Mike,
especially
Mary,
Beth,
Mike
and
Ellen.
It's
a
challenge
to
put
on
something
like
this
I
know.
B
B
We
have
a
lot
of
the
ons
folks
here
volunteering
and
please
also
helped
me
recognize
the
chief
of
civic
engagement,
Jerome
Smith
right
back
here
so
and
it's
your
heart
in
here
I
haven't
seen
her,
but
I
think
a
little
bit
later,
Cheryl
Harding
will
be
coming.
She
is
the
new
liaison
to
the
senior
community
for
councillor
Campbell
and
she's,
going
to
be
coming
around
two
tables
and
introducing
herself
to
everybody.
So
now
it
is
my
pleasure
to
introduce
a
man
that
has
been
just
so
supportive
of
everything
we
wanted
to
do
with
the
elderly.
B
D
Thank
You
Commissioner,
shade
I
also
want
to
thank
the
staff
Jerome
Smith,
the
chief
of
civic
engagement,
his
entire
office,
the
August
enabled
services,
the
great
kids
and
young
people
that
work
did.
Thank
you
very
much.
I
want
to
thank
Sheldon
from
City
fresh
fruits,
because
last
year,
let's
hover
around
a
pot
Sheldon
last
year's
that
one
around
the
team
a
lot
of
people
a
little
different.
D
We
want
to
bring
back
home
front
food
again
and
so
I
talk
to
Sheldon
and
he's
okay,
we'll
take
care
of
I
see
is
the
Boston,
so
Thank
You
Sheldon
for
everything
you
do
for
our
city
and
also
for
today.
I
want
to
give
a
couple
more
shout
outs,
one
issue:
a
gentleman
who
I
serve
in
the
Massachusetts
House
of
Representatives
with
and
now
he's
the
director
of
AARP
Massachusetts
Mike
festa.
Thank
you.
Michael
I
wanted
to
make
Hogan
from
Boston.
D
Seen,
kill
us
and
senior
care
makes
here,
but
also,
more
importantly,
kind
of
for
me,
as
I
served
in
the
house
that
makes
sister
Kate
Hogan,
who
is
a
champion
for
senior
citizens
at
the
state.
Also,
thank
you
Maggie.
Thank
you.
Kate
who's
islands
in
directly
here
with
us
today,
I,
don't
see
him,
but
I
want
to
thank
Dale,
Mitchell
and
ethos
as
well
for
that
for
their
great
work,
but
I'm
not
going
to
talk
long,
it's
at
the
end
of
the
summer.
D
I
want
to
thank
you
for
everything
you
do
for
us
in
our
city.
This
is
a
great
day
in
our
city.
This
picnic
is
one
of
the
one
of
the
highlights
that
I
look
forward
to,
because
it's
so
important
for
our
city
to
respect
the
people
who
build
a
city
in,
and
you
other
people
who
built
the
city
I've
seen
you
so
thank
you
very
much.
D
D
A
So
just
a
couple
of
housekeeping,
so
the
bathrooms
are
behind
the
Boston
water
and
store
truck
over
here.
If
you
need
and
if
you
need
assistance
getting
in
the
bathroom,
ask
one
of
the
volunteers
at
some
point
when
you
feel
like
shaking
it
up,
we'll
move
a
couple
of
the
tables
out
from
here,
so
you
can
move
it
a
little
bit
if
you
want.
Thank
you.
