A
A
My
name
is
Emily
Shay
for
folks
that
don't
know
me
and
I'm
I
have
the
real
honor
and
pleasure
for
being
the
elderly
Commissioner
for
the
city
of
Boston
I.
It's
such
an
honor
to
be
celebrating
with
you
today
and
to
be
as
I
look
across
this
room
and
I
see
so
many
years
of
commitment
and
so
much
love.
I
have
another
really
big
honor
today
and
is
my
pleasure
to
introduce
a
man
who
I
know
is,
as
is
as
in
awe
as
me
at
the
special
relationships
that
are
represented
in
this
room.
B
D
Let
me
thank
you
very
much.
I
want
to
thank
the
interpreters,
so
we
can
make
sure
we
get
our
information
out
to
everybody,
and
thank
you
for
that.
I
want
to
give
a
special
thank
you
to
Emily
Shay
and
the
ugly
Commission
who
do
an
incredible
job
in
our
city.
Thank
you
for
that.
I
also
want
to
I
have
brought
another
guest
with
me.
Many
of
you
know
who
he
has
ever
our
Police
Commissioner
Bill
Evans
with
me
today,
so
thank
you,
Commissioner
Evans,
being
here,
I
want
to
thank
the
four
seasons.
D
This
is
a
beautiful
venue
to
have
a
special
event
in
I
want
to
thank
them
for
that.
I
want
to
thank
Winston
Flores,
who
put
together
the
arrangements
on
the
tables.
I
want
to
thank
the
bull.
Would
it
could
be
end,
which
is
the
entertainment
today?
Thank
you
for
always
doing
this,
and
at
least
since
I've
been
the
mayor.
I
want
to
congratulate
everyone
on
your
celebrating
your
golden
golden
anniversary
year.
D
This
party
has
been
a
tradition
in
Boston,
since
1979
we've
had
more
than
50
couples
joining
us
today
did
today,
and
that
means
that
in
this
room
we
have
over
250
2500
years
of
experience
and
I
can
say
half
of
that's
good
experience.
I
can't
speak
for
the
other
half
and
ladies
you
know
what
I'm
talking
about,
but
I
want
to.
Thank
you
and
also
I'm
gonna.
Give
this
to
you
guys
many
times,
so
you
can
go
right
through
it.
D
Certainly
the
whole
city,
and
also
this
event
is
a
great
event
because
it
shows
the
strength
of
our
city
and
the
diversity
of
our
city
in
this
room
is
from
all
when
I
say:
diversity,
I,
don't
mean
just
add:
Nick
backgrounds,
I'm
talking
neighborhoods
as
well
people
from
different
neighborhoods
in
the
city
of
Boston.
You
grew
up
here.
You
can
tell
an
incredible
story
of
what
you've
done
here.
Many
people
immigrated
here
to
this
country.
Many
of
you
served
our
country
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that.
You
you've
lit,
see
your
whole
lives.
D
You've
carried
on
the
city
of
Boston
traditions
and
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that.
As
well,
you've
helped
pass
Boston's
values
on
to
the
next
generation
and
that
what
I
mean
by
values
and
talking
about
hard
work,
integrity
and
love
for
the
city
of
Boston,
and
that's
something
that
that
that
is
incredible
here.
D
The
love
and
commitment
that
you
share
is
also
an
example
that
we
need
today
and
in
this
country
and
I
want
to
again.
Thank
you
for
that.
Many
people
in
this
room
have
witnessed
a
lot.
You've
witnessed.
Our
city.
You've
witnessed
the
changes
that
changes
in
our
city,
and
you
continue
to
see,
as
we
are
a
city
again
in
transformation,
we're
going
to
another
phase
of
change
in
our
city,
where
we
have
incredible
growth.
Much
of
the
growth
that
we're
seeing
in
the
city
of
Boston
is
we
nearly
700,000
people
living
in
our
city.
