From YouTube: Senior Spring Fling 2018
Description
The active senior community of West Roxbury, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, and Hyde Park gather at the Irish Social Club in West Roxbury for dancing, food, and a visit from Mayor Marty Walsh. This event serves as an opportunity for local seniors to familiarize themselves with programming put on by the City of Boston Elderly Commission.
A
A
We're
busted
Council
on
Aging
and
we
provide
a
lot
of
services
for
older
adults
in
the
community.
So
if
you
or
your
friends
need
some
help,
we
can
either
help
them
at
the
Commission
or
we
can
find
the
powder
at
another
agency.
All
you
need
to
do
is
call
3-1-1,
that's
how
you
get
hold
of
the
cities,
just
dial,
3,
1
1,
and
ask
for
the
elder
technician,
and
we
can
get
you
connected
to
the
healthy
that
you
or
that
your
friends
or
family
members
needs.
A
A
That's
very
cool
about
her.
That
I
want
to
share
with
you.
She
is.
She
is
at
the
mass
Society
of
oh,
my
gosh
I
wrote
this
from
genealogists
I
wrote
gerontologist,
but
at
all
of
this
genealogists
hope
to
abundant
the
vice-president
of
the
mass
society
of
genealogists.
So
if
any
of
you
see
Yvonne
you'll
see
here
come
up
here
and
speak,
but
if
you
see
if
I'm
walking
around
the
floor
today,
you
should
ask
her
about
that
and
what
that
means
and
what
she
does
there,
because
I
think
that's
pretty
cool.
A
A
It
is
my
pleasure
and
my
honor
to
introduce
open
it
behind
you
to
introduce
a
man
that
I'm
really
proud
to
call
my
boss
and
the
reason
that
I'm
proud
to
do.
That
is
because
he's
the
man
that
cares
about
the
community.
He
just
put
out
a
budget
the
mayor's
budget
last
week
that
City
Council
now
has,
and
he
made
significant
investments
in
things
that
are
important
to
the
community
things
like
transportation.
A
So
we
can
have
drivable
but
also
walkable
streets,
things
like
education,
so
that
our
kids
can
learn
and
grow
and
thrive
in
the
community
things
like
parks
and
libraries
that
things
that
make
our
communities
what
they
are,
and
so
I
want
to
thank
the
mayor
before
I.
Have
them
come
up
here
for
helping
us
make
our
communities
good
places
to
live
and
also
good
places
to
age
I'm?
So
please
join
me
in
a
warm
welcome
for
mayor
Walsh.
B
Let
me
just
stop
by
negatively
Shay
and
I
put
it
on
applause
to
everyone,
the
works
of
the
elderly,
to
mention
all
of
you
are
amazing.
Thank
you.
I
can't
say
that
enough.
You
know
work
on
every
day
in
the
week
at
night,
on
Saturdays,
the
ugly
Commission
is
so
dedicated
to
making
sure
that
that
all
the
people
in
our
city
particularly
seniors,
not
sitting
if
the
services
that
you
deserve
and
they
need
and
I
want
to.
Thank
them.
They
out
there.
So
there's
amazing.
So
thank
you.
B
I
also
want
to
thank
in
order
to
get
over
here
in
West.
Roxbury
I
have
to
get
approval
from
the
Lord.
Mayor
was
rockbreaker
when
she
always
hid
somewhere.
There's
watch
out
from
those
duties
that
happen
was
Roger
Brady
what
he
holds
a
funeral
home,
so
he
pulls
out
a
measuring
tape.
Just
be
careful
it'll.
C
B
Know
what
he's
gonna
do
is
check
the
size
size
and
you
up
here,
but
I
want
to
thank
bitching,
which
is
another
guy
that
he
does
on
a
business
in
the
community
buddy.
He
does
so
much
there's
so
many
people
quietly
no
one
knows,
but
he
does
he's
truly
a
philanthropic
person
which
he
think
you're
everything
you
do
every
single
day.
B
City
council
battle
valleys
have
been
trying
to
survive
this
brandon's
district,
those
of
you
that
I'm
from
where
crockery,
Robin,
Dell
mental
maladies,
gonna,
try
and
serve
I
want
to
thank
Matt
it.
My
crush
state
brothers,
that
the
state
senator
leaders
on
duty
this
weekend
in
the
United,
States
Navy
and
also
any
copper
jurist
they
represent
of
he
was
just
at
the
Shamrock
shootout
with
his
kids.
But
thank
you
for
this
is
exciting.
B
A
thank
you
sponsor
is
obviously
zero
arcs
in
whether
it's
right
here,
a
little
more
in
a
minute,
the
Boston
Medical
Center
helped
that
plan
for
sponsoring
today
also
the
lawn
who's
going
to
open
a
minute
and
talk
about
what
she
does,
and
but
every
years
there
are
cope
responses
his
event.
So
thank
you
just
real
quick
business
for
a
couple
minutes.
We
we
just
once
this
week
a
capital
plan
in
the
budget
for
the
City
of
Austin.
B
We
launched
it
at
Franklin
Park
this
year
with
an
important
will
put
$800,000
in
the
budget
to
to
do
or
were
remodeling
a
plan
to
remodel
Franklin
Park.
We
sold,
we
sold
the
building
in
town
building.
28
million
of
that
money
is
going
into
reconstruct
Franklin
Park
in
a
lot
of
different
ways.
So
we're
gonna
make
a
major
investments
in
Franklin
Park
we're.
C
B
The
budget
put
money
in
there
for
Boston
Common
Boston
Common
is
the
oldest
part
of
the
country.
We're
gonna
make
a
twenty
eight
billion
dollar
investment
in
the
Boston
economy.
To
ensure
that
time.
For
that
speed,
we're
making
investments
in
every
neighborhood
will
be
new
libraries
now
and
Jamaica
Plain,
and
in
Roslindale
and
ugly
and
corner
in
an
Adam
Street
we're
putting
parks
in
areas
renovated
parks
and
West
Roxbury
in
Charlestown,
and
so
Boston
we're
doing
we're
doing
sidewalks
and
streets
12.
The
entire
city
of
Boston.
B
One
controversial
thing
we
did
this
year
was
raise
the
fees
for
people
parking
in
front
of
the
front
of
any
cap
ramps
and
it
parked
in
front
of
fire
hydrants
and
it's
all
double
parked
and
they're
exempt
all
of
the
money
that
we
raise
them
from
raising
them.
We
never
raised
those
fees
since
that
in
between
out
of
seven
all
the
money,
every
penny
that
were
rate
that
we
raise
the
fees,
the
parking
fines
in
the
City
of
Austin,
every
single
pennies
go
back
at
the
transportation,
the
money's
going
to
build
with
streets.
B
The
money's
going
bears
over
sidewalks
the
money's
going
all
that,
so
it's
not
being
used
other
things.
Putting
it
right
in
this
will
get
people
to
talk
about
complain
about
the
ticket
being
so
high.
It's
all
the
monies
go
right
back
in
and
only
doing
that,
but
most
of
the
people
that
aren't
illegally
don't
and
a
couple,
my
city
so
to
me
right
so
so
I
just
want
to
thank
you
for
that.
We've
had
you
know,
there's
a
lot
of
great
things
happening
in
Boston,
as
you
know,
so
we're
going
to
continue
to
move
forward.
B
Just
thank
you
for
your
contributions
when
it
comes
to
when
it
comes
to
Barstow
old
of
our
so
handsome,
our
our
our
age
friendly
plan,
a
couple
things
that
we're
doing
this
year,
we're
working
on
making
sure
that
we're
putting
all
public
popular
online.
What
does
that
mean?
That
means
that
if
you
are
in
town
and
you
have
an
iPhone
or
iPhone,
you
are
karani
looking
for
a
place
anyway,
that
matter
and
you're.
Looking
for
a
public
restroom,
you
can't
find
one
to
be
able
to
look
it
up
online.
Well,
this
will
be
on
there.
B
It
can
Communion
and
don't
want
to
do
that.
You
just
simply
call
3-1-1,
and
you
can
say
this.
Somebody
I
am
on
Dorchester
Avenue
I
am
on
the
corner,
dressed
Avenue
in
Victoria,
Street
and
I
need
and
they'll.
Tell
you
way
to
go.
That's
that's
something
that
you
know
we
don't
take
for
granted
we're
also
working
training,
our
all
of
our
staff,
both
in
City
Hall
and
the
police,
fire
and
EMS
to
make
people
see
the
signs
of
dementia
so
that
people
that
are
out
there.
People
are
confused
and
walking
around.
B
B
Boys
play
gate
one
tonight,
everyone's
freaking
out
about
the
Patriots,
don't
worry
about
the
pitch.
We
have
Bill,
Belichick
or
Tom.
Brady.
Don't
worry
about
anything.
The
Red
Sox
are
pretty
monotone
I
just
want
to
thank.
It
was
I
hope
you
have
a
great
Spring,
Fling
I
know
you
can
have
a
lot
of
fun
finding
it
tonight.
I
know
it's
me
and
it
was
between
you
and
the
food.
So
I
just
want
to
thank
you
on
the
northeastern
North
East
general
manager
for
Xerox.
B
But
let
me
just
tell
you:
I've
had
the
chance
to
get
to
know
about
over
the
last
four
years
and
I.
Don't
only
see
a
really
a
business
event
good.
She
has
been
an
incredible
partner
in
the
city
of
Monster.
She
is
really
Xerox
cuts.
The
cheque
she's
the
driving
force
behind
it
and
I
want
to
ask
her
to
promise
a
few
words.
C
Hi
everyone,
your
name
alright
welcome
to
the
Spring
Fling
I
will
first
want
to
thank
the
mayor.
For
those
nice
words,
I
represent
a
company
Xerox
dad
has
a
deep,
deep
history
of
supporting
the
communities
that
we
work
and
here
I
see
a
lot
of
familiar
faces.
There
axe
has
been
doing
this
event
for
close
to
40
years.
It's
the
longest
community
involvement
program
in
the
history
of
Xerox.
A
C
Absolutely
absolutely
agree,
so
I
had
the
wonderful
honor
of
about
a
dozen
years
ago,
Karen
Adams,
who
was
one
of
my
predecessors
at
Xerox.
She
was
retiring
and
there
was
a
chance
that
that
this
event
might
not
go
on,
but
I
had
the
good
fortune
of
going
to
you.
Then
she
invited
me
to
it.
I
brought
my
son
Kevin
and
we
absolutely
loved
it.
I
brought
my
mother
the
next
year,
my
mother,
normal
ball
deck
right
there,
and
and
when
that
that
chance
came
and
said,
oh,
do
we
want
to
do
this?
C
You
know
and
continue
on
with
this.
It
was
absolutely
no
doubt
in
my
mind,
and
so
so
we
kept
it
going.
We
kept
it
going
for
all
of
you
because
you
come
here
and
you
have
a
blast
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
continues
to
happen,
and
thank
you
for
that.
I
want
to
thank
the
elderly.
Clinician
Emily
mentioned
that
I'm
a
vice
president
of
the
Massachusetts
Society
of
genealogists
and
that's
Woking
book.
That's
a
early
history.
C
So
you
know
this
is
one
big
family
community's
family
and
so
we're
just
so
happy
to
get
to
be
here.
Xerox,
wonderful
volunteers,
I
have
my
friend
patty
with
the
salads
and
the
back
there
patty
Karen,
Hollinger,
Kimbrough
Ronnie
means
Valentine's
grandson,
my
son's
here,
the
others
were
there
before
and
there'll
be
more
coming,
but
the
absolutely
love
being
here
with
you
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
this
event
continues.
So
the
only
way
it
continues
is
that
you
have
the
best
time
ever
so.
