From YouTube: Senior Party in the Park 2017
Description
As summer wanes, our seniors have one last fling at the annual Senior Party in the Park in Roxbury. Mayor Walsh, Elderly Affairs Commissioner Emily Shea, and CEO of City Fresh, Sheldon Lloyd, say goodbye to summer.
A
Wow,
what
a
crowd
we
have
out
here!
This
is
such
a
great
party
in
the
park.
Thank
you
so
much
for
coming
to
join
us
today.
I'm
Emily,
Shay
I'm,
the
elderly
Commissioner
for
the
city,
and
it's
such
a
great
pleasure
of
mine
to
get
to
work
for
the
best
mayor
in
the
whole
country,
Mayor,
Martin,
Walsh,.
A
We
are
absolutely
thrilled
that
you
are
out
here
with
us
today,
because
we
love
being
able
to
spend
time
with
you
have
delicious
food
and
getting
to
have
community
together.
So
thanks
for
joining
us,
the
elderly,
Commission
and
City
fresh
foods
has
been
hosting
this
event
for
thirteen
years
we've
been
partnering
together
this
event
it
was
a
smaller
gathering
and
it's
grown
over
the
years,
because
it's
one
of
the
most
popular
events
in
the
city
I
am
very
proud
to
introduce
Sheldon,
Lloyd,
the
CEO
and
founder
of
City
fresh
foods.
A
B
So,
thank
you
again
for
coming
out
to
play
with
us
this
year.
Right.
Thank
you
all
for
coming
and
what
a
year
it's
been
right
got
a
crazy
we've
all
kind
of
watched
what's
happening
in
this
country,
but
today
we're
gonna,
celebrate
you
all
today,
all
right,
we're
gonna,
celebrate
you
all
we're
gonna
celebrate
for
City
fresh,
the
17th
annual.
C
Thank
you
very
much.
Sheldon
and
I
want
to
thank
you
and
City
fresh
for
doing
this
for
13
straight
years
and
for
the
great
food
out
there.
So
how
about
a
nice
round
of
applause
for
City,
fresh
food,
our
own
Boston
company
and
I,
want
to
thank
shelters,
mom
and
daddy
here.
How
about
a
nice
run?
Applause
for
them,
I
saw
them
earlier,
so
I
want
to
take
them.
C
C
Let
me
tell
you
those
of
you
that
have
have
representative
Tyler,
as
your
state
representative,
I,
have
never
seen
anybody
in
her
first
term
workers
not
as
she's
worked
on
so
many
different
issues
on
Sunday
night
and
about
10:30
I
got
a
text
from
her
saying
that
we
have
to
clean
Washington
Park.
We
have
to
clean
Malcolm
X
back.
She
was
not
messing
around
with
me
and
Sunday
night,
so
I
have
to
get
the
car
there's
a
representative.
Thank
you
very
much
for
what
you
do
every
single
day.
C
And
I
also
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
a
former
colleague
of
mine.
We
served
in
the
House
of
Representatives
together,
another
person
who
is
incredible
and
constituent
services
and
giving
back
to
his
district
and
that's
state
representative,
councillor
makers,
Thank
You
representative
for
being
here.
C
I
want
to
also
say
thank
you:
the
Epley
come
Emily
Shay
and
the
elderly
Commission
for
what
you
do.
Thank
you
so
much
le
Commission,
Jerome
Smith,
the
neighborhood
services,
all
the
OH&S
coordinators
that
are
here.
Thank
you.
Our
Police
Department
is
here.
Thank
you,
our
Police
Department.
We
have
water
and
sewer
here,
City
Hall
to
go
here
and
all
the
different
departments.
C
When
I
ran
for
mayor
of
Boston,
it
was
a
priority
of
us.
We
need
to
make
sure
that
our
older
Bostonians
always
have
what
they
need
and
that's
why
we
work
hard
every
single
day
for
all
of
you
to
make
sure
that
you
have,
but
not
just
a
lunch
today,
but
have
a
comfortable
life
living
and
we're
going
to
continue
to
do
that.
That
work
is
being
driven
by
Emily,
Shea
and
I
want
to
thank
Emily
and
the
elderly
Commissioner
for
the
great
work
they
do.
C
I
want
to
thank
each
and
every
one
of
you
and
then
to
this
tenth.
What
you've
done
for
our
city,
you've
made
us
a
city.
We
are
the
last
thing.
I'm
going
to
say
is
Sheldon
talked
about
we're
going
through
a
little
craziness
this
year
in
America,
but
we
didn't
go
through
that
craziness
in
Boston.
Why?
Because,
if
Boston
was
special
and
Boston
we're
going
to
stand
up
for
the
people
that
need
to
be
strong
and
Boston
we're
gonna
do
what
we
need
to
do
to
survive
and
move
forward.
C
B
B
Today's
menu
is
our
hamburgers
hot
dogs,
grilled,
chicken,
potato,
salad,
watermelon
and
I
believe
those
burgers
and
dogs
will
be
along
just
after
I
get
down
I
see
some
of
you
already
started.
I
guess
your
appetizers,
but
the
meat
is
coming.
I
do
want
to
plug
the
city
fresh
for
a
minute,
your
neighborhood
local
community
food
service
company.
So
we
do
the
home
delivered
meals
to
seniors
at
their
door.
We
do
childcare
and
we
do
schools
and
we've
been
doing
it
for
23
years
with
an
ethnic
flavor.
B
So
we
will
be
we'll
be
around
then
we'll
still
continue
to
be
around
so
you're
going
to
get
the
meals
brought
to
your
table.
So
you
don't
have
to
get
up.
There's
extra
water
over
there
by
the
Boston
water,
and
so,
if
you
need
it,
the
bathrooms
are
over
by
the
parking
lot.
Then,
if
you
need
assistance
going
to
the
bathroom,
just
raise
your
hand
and
the
volunteers
will
help
you.
