This project received a $5 million renovation manage by the City of Boston Public Facilities Department, working closely with BCYF. The BCYF Gallivan Community Center in Mattapan is getting a makeover! Mayor Walsh and city officials announced a nearly $2.9 million dollar renovation to the center through the city's capital plan. The scope of the work includes replacing the roof and gym floor, installing air conditioning into the building, removing the security grates on the windows and repaving the parking lot.

Mayor Walsh offers remarks and chats with residents at the launch of the Neighborhub initiative, held at the Tobin Community Center. The program is a partnership between City Hall and Boston Center for Youth and Families, and aims to provide city services to residents through community centers in their own neighborhoods.
