Dawn Redwoods are a rare and magnificent tree which date back to prehistoric times. In September, the Arnold Arboretum gifted 10 Dawn Redwoods to the City of Boston. This week, Mayor Wu gathered with the Parks Department to plant the inaugural Redwood at the Richard J Murphy School in Dorchester.

Mayor Wu, elected officials, and residents of Boston gathered in Hyde Park to break ground on The Pryde, Boston's first LGBTQ-friendly housing development for older Bostonians. When complete, the renovations of the former Barton Rogers School (built in 1899) will create more than 10,000 square feet of community space and 72 new mixed-income rental units that will be welcoming to residents 62 and older.

The EPA has just allocated $500 million in rebate funds to help school districts nationwide with the transition from diesel to electric schools buses. The Boston Public Schools plan to have fully converted to zero-emmission electric buses by 2030. Mayor Wu is joined with EPA Deputy Administrator Janet McCade, elected officials, and BPS students and staff at New Mission High School in Hyde Park for this announcement.
