A
One
form
of
adversity
that
always
seems
inevitable
for
high
school
football
teams
is
the
loss
of
players.
During
the
season.
Some
teams
lose
a
group
of
players
for
academic
reasons,
some
lose
players
to
injuries.
Then
there's
the
South
Boston
high
school
football
team,
Southie
start
of
the
season
with
30
players
on
their
roster,
but
came
into
Thanksgiving
Day
with
just
12
players
available.
Despite
the
low
numbers,
the
Knights
were
as
enthusiastic
and
energetic
as
ever
as
they
face
these
Boston
on
Thanksgiving
morning
for
the
98th
time.
A
Let's
head
out
to
white
stadium
for
this
one,
you
see
the
South
Boston
nights,
all
12
of
them,
certainly
tough
for
a
football
team.
I'm
gonna
pick
it
up.
In
the
first
quarter,
jets
opening
drive
Joelle
Pastrana.
The
kid
has
been
making
big
plays
all
season.
58-Yard
touchdown
run
for
Joelle
Jets,
go
up,
82,
zip
there
early
in
the
first
still
in
the
first
quarter,
ec
now
at
the
selfie
30-yard
line,
and
it's
their
other
back
terrance
more
off
tackle.
A
He
will
find
the
pylon
here
for
the
touchdown
ec
goes
up
16,
the
zip
in
the
first
quarter.
Still
in
the
first
jets
up
22
to
nothing
Jeff
bends
on
the
quarterback
roll
into
the
right
pass,
Tirana
with
the
catch
47-yard
touchdown
connection
from
bens
on
the
pasture
on
a
29
to
nothing
jets.
Second
quarter
ec
up
35
to
zip
Nathan
Rivera
gets
the
carry
30-yard
touchdown
score
for
the
him.
The
Jets
up,
41
to
nothing
at
the
half.
Look
at
a
fast
forward
in
the
fourth
quarter.
Now
southies
offense
gets
a
spark.
A
That's
too
high
James,
throwing
it
up
to
marquel
Harris
24-yard
pass
play
in
southie
is
in
business
at
the
East
e-40
selfie.
Now
at
the
15-yard
line,
again,
it's
James
finding
Harris
this
time
for
a
15-yard
touchdown,
but
East
Boston
goes
on
to
win
on
Thanksgiving
morning,
41
28,
the
Jets
win
for
the
seventh
year
in
a
row
there
at
white
stadium.
Let's
take
a
look
at
the
rest
of
the
thanksgiving
morning.
Scores
right
there,
its
new
mission,
losing
the
Burke
30
to
eight
sharif
means
two:
rushing
touchdowns
for
the
Burke
Bulldogs.
A
Meanwhile,
O'bryant
blanking
west
roxbury
34
to
zip
Montel
Phillip,
with
two
rushing
scores
for
the
O'bryant
Tigers,
also
on
Thanksgiving
morning,
edging
out
latin
academy
24
to
18
Nate
hall,
with
three
passing
touchdowns
for
the
bangles
and
Boston
Latin
beats
Boston
English
28
to
six
two
rushing
scores
for
Justin
sprinkle.
That
game
was
at
Fenway
Park.
That
puts
a
bow
on
the
fall
high
school
sports
season
here
in
the
city,
but
believe
it
or
not.
The
winter
sports
season
is
just
around
the
corner.
