Description
Catch up on all the highlights of the Jeremiah Burke Bulldogs boys soccer team as they look to make history in the MiAA State Tournament, on this week's edition of Boston Neighborhood Sports.
A
But
Jeremiah
Burke
Bulldogs
boys
soccer
team
had
a
chance
at
history
last
week
when
they
look
to
become
the
first
ever
Boston
City
League
soccer
team
to
win
a
state
title.
The
last
time
a
team
came
close
was
the
Boston
International
boys
soccer
team,
who
defeated
Cohasset
in
the
state
semifinals
and
then
went
on
to
lose
two
Bromfield
in
the
state
championship
just
two
years
ago
now
fast
forward,
two
years,
who's
standing
in
the
way
of
Burke
making
history,
Cohasset
and
Bromfield.
A
It
all
started
on
Wednesday
night
and
that's
where
we'll
bring
you
we're
gonna
head
out
to
Manning
Field
in
Linn,
that's
Jeremiah,
Burke,
taking
on
Cohasset
in
the
state
division
for
state
semi
finals.
First,
half
six
minutes
in
it's
Abdul
new
Dhoni
cleaning
up
the
clear
right
there
in
front
of
the
net
Burke
goes
up
one
to
nothing
early
on
we're
gonna
fast
forward.
Now,
just
before
the
half
rain
really
coming
down
here
at
Manning
field,
Cohasset
senior,
captain
Kyle
Osborne
buries
that
one
for
the
skippers.
A
He
ties
it
up
at
one
apiece
we
go
up
go
into
the
half
tied
one.
All
the
fats
were
not
a
midway
through
the
second
half
and
it's
Domingo
Gomes
off
the
turnover
he
laces
that
one
in
to
the
net
breaks
the
tie
there.
The
freshman
puts
Burke
up
2
to
1
over
Cohasset
there
in
the
state
semifinals
late
around
the
second
half.
A
Division
four
state
championship
here
on
Saturday
Jeremiah
Burke,
taking
on
the
Bromfield
Trojans
at
Foley
stadium
in
Worcester.
First
half
no
score
Brom
field
on
the
attack,
goalkeeper
can't
field
it
cleanly
and
then
Bromfield
tries
to
put
it
home.
The
shot
goes
high,
no
score
through
the
first
half
in
the
division:
four
state
title
game.
Second,
half
now
Burke
on
the
attack.
A
The
longest
running
tradition,
of
course,
is
at
historic,
Harvard
Stadium,
where
Boston
Latin
faces
off
against
Boston
English
again
in
the
longest-standing
high
school
football
rivalry
in
the
country
that
game
kicks
off
at
10:00
a.m.
then
over
at
white
stadium.
This
rivalry
only
goes
back
a
century.
It's
the
East
Boston
Jets,
taking
on
the
South
Boston
Knights
for
the
101st
time
that
game
will
start
at
9:30
over
at
white
stadium,
then
Latin
Academy
will
take
on
O'brien
over
at
O'bryant
high
school
at
10:00
a.m.
A
Thanksgiving
morning
with
the
winner
of
that
game,
taking
home
the
Boston
north
title
and
up
at
Chelsea
high.
It's
the
Brighton
Bengals
traveling
up
to
Chelsea
to
take
on
the
Chelsea
Red
Devils,
also
at
10
a.m.
so
a
healthy
slate
of
games
for
you
on
Thanksgiving
morning,
always
a
fun
holiday
tradition
here
in
New
England
and
that's
gonna.
Do
it
for
sports
this
week,
folks
be
sure
to
come
right
back
here
next
time
for
more
on
Boston
neighborhood
sports.
